  1. The mercenary took the hit from Foreshadow's bo staff, glancing down at the hero as he replied, "don't be so sure, I would just cut the tightrope. In any event, your presence is just as the boss man predicted." The limousine accelerated as it headed down the street, trying to put distance between it and the warehouse. It had traveled about three blocks away, when Foreshadow saw a figure appear on a distant rooftop. There was a bright flash and a loud sound as a rocket was fired down at the limousine, hitting the front of the hood with a loud explosion *BOOM* which echoed in the night. The limousine quickly swerved out of control, its hood in flames as it struck a parked car, which it pushed up onto the sidewalk as it skidded to a halt, half in the street, and half on the sidewalk as well. Widowmaker took aim once more with his shotgun, firing another slug at Dagger with a loud gunshot that echoed over all the other noise in the area, which included the crowds of people still fleeing the warehouse. Dagger hand just moved around to another side of the telephone pole when Widowmaker fired, so the slug smashed into the pole, sending splinters flying in all directions as it blasted a chunk out. Dagger then leapt off the pole, landing on the roof of a nearby car before leaping back up into the air, flipping over as he went before landing in crouch up on the rooftop of a nearby three story building. He then leapt into the air once more, this time making another leap further down the street toward the burning limousine, crossing the street to land on the roof of another three story building.
  2. Okay, number of things happening that I will describe in the IC post. Widwomaker takes another shot at Dagger, getting a 26, which would normally be good enough, but with Dagger in melee, that misses. Dagger will take two move actions.
  3. Giang rode along top of a jet of water, which carried her quickly over toward the scientific vessel. Looking down at the deck as Thaelia leapt over, the Asian teen spotted only a single sharkman who was somewhat surprised by their sudden appearance. Bringing her arms up, Giang thrust them forward toward the sharkman, a jet of twisting coils of water appearing out of air in front of her hands an flying at the target. The powerful jet of water stuck the sharkman squarely, but he proved rather resistant, the water splashing harmlessly around him as he kept his footing and focus on the three teenage girls.
  4. Miss Grue moved over and tried to trip the massive Earth Creature. But somehow it managed to avoid her attack, stepping over and avoiding her leg as it continued toward the town. Giang glanced at the glowing platform Clover had sent over to move her more quickly toward the river for a brief moment, before hopping onto yellow energy construction. The Asian teen then looked back toward the earth creatures, seeing it continuing on toward the town and ignoring the rest of them. She wondered if it was because they had stopped attacking it that it choose to ignore them. Deciding to test the theory, Giang brought her hands up as she shifted into a defensive stance. A jet of twisting coils of water shot out toward the earth creature, but her aim was well off, and the blast passed harmless behind its back.
  5. That will miss. Round Fifteen 18 Tsunami (bruised, fatigued, 2 HP) 14 Earth Monster (bruised 6) 9 Clover (staggered, bruised) 9 Crimson (bruised 2, staggered) 9 Tundra (bruised) 8 Ulysses (1 HP) 7 Miss Grue (bruised 3, 1 HP) Tsunami will use defensive attack (-2 atk/+2 def), she will then blast at the Earth Monster and miss by a mile.
  6. Lucy’s shoulder tackle sent Machinefist flying, slamming into a nearby column where he collapsed onto the ground, dazed and about half unconscious. There were still the two remaining thugs with clubs, one of whom had just knocked Freddy for a loop. But when they saw the return of the woman they had been completely unable to harm earlier, the pair both just dropped their clubs, which clattered on the concrete floor, as they raised up their hands. "We give up!" They both exclaimed, clearly not wanting to continue the fight. Machinefist rolled over onto his back, looking up and over at Lucy and Freddy. "I coulda taken on one of you." He exclaimed, as the sword that had formed from one of his gauntlets somehow retracted back into the oversized device, as metal fingers reappeared and he raised his hands up in surrender as well.
  7. He only gets a 12, which I believe is good enough to put him at staggered and dazed. That will wrap up combat, as the two club wielding thugs will surrender.
  8. Archived at player request.
  9. Archived at player request.
  10. Dee would have commented on the Crocodile King's repeated comment about how he planned revenge on Zero and the Sleeper, but Erick took care of that first. Instead the Englishwoman focused primarily on trying to put the threat down so they could figure out what to do next. She herself wondered what they would do with him once they did defeat him, as she really did not like the idea of leaving him behind where he could potentially kill others that came her. But of course, they had no easy way to get him out of Egypt either. She also wondered about whether he was under the influence of the Sleeper or not, and how he might fit into the Sleeper's larger plans. Whatever the truth of that was, it would likely have to wait until they had subdued the Crocodile King. And with that, Dee sent another blast of red psychic energy at his mind, and while it hurt the creature, he still clung to consciousness.
  11. Will hit him with another mental blast, DC 23 Will save.
  12. Well, the Incursion will reach Earth about a week before New Year's. Anyway, the refs have talked over our plans for the timing of things and it should be over before New Year's (with possibly New Year's Eve and maybe the day before to spare as well). So, you should be good to go with this, though it would also be good to account for the fact that a large alien invasion just took place very recently (as in days earlier).
  13. The drone makes its toughness save.
  14. Dee did not miss the Crocodile King’s mention of the Sleeper as he managed to break free from her mental grapple. But no sooner had he freed himself, than Erick had been flipping in the air, throwing the monster off balance and then delivering a powerful strike with his bo staff that certainly seemed to put the Crocodile King close to the verge of unconsciousness. "You and I have a different definitions of weak." Dee stated simply to the Crocodile King. "And we have met the Sleeper as well, although he is no longer a young man. You might think you resisted his control, but in fact, you might never realize that was just what he wanted you to think. His abilities are such he can have you in his grip, and you would never know it." With that, she sent another blast of red psychic energy at the Crocodile King. This time he did not fare as well, the blast seeming to rock him backward slightly, pushing him closer to unconsciousness.
  15. Okay, so I will assume Tsunami is up. She will fire a blast of water at the shark on the deck, getting a 26 on her attack roll.
  16. Well, that is just a bruise and dazed Rav. With the pirates on the Aphelion not quite able to do anything with the drone in melee, Mechanized is up SG!
  17. Synapse will just hit him with another mind blast, DC 23 Will save.
  18. The drones both miss their toughness saves, and I will say the door does as well.
  19. Dee was sweating now, and not from the heat and humidity. While from all outward appearances she was simply standing there, focused like a laser on the Crocodile King, who was similarly standing there, not moving, within the confines of the Crocodile King's mind it was a very different story. Dee's mental image, enlarged and taller than the Crocodile King had been holding him in her grip, even as he thrashed and fought with all his will, just as he had previously been thrashing about physically. The Englishwoman had been able to note the hits Erick had managed to get in while she had the Crocodile King in her grip, the pain evident through his mind. But when then, even as she exerted a tremendous amount of psychic energy to continuing to hold the creature, he suddenly twisted and broke free, pushing her from his mind. The real world came flooding back to Dee, where she was standing knee deep in water and looking over toward the massive creature in the dim lighting of the ruined building.
  20. Dee gave a small sigh at Dr. Rost's excitable entrance. The woman was rather high strung, but this was not at all the place to start talking about what had just happened. "I will give a full report doctor." The Englishwoman replied with a small nod in greeting as she grasped Rost's upper arm and pulled her back toward the exit and waiving for Ulysses and Annie to follow. "But this is really not the place to be taking in the open about such things. It will be an bloody interesting report, but rest assured, the disturbances we were here to investigate are over."
  21. Aboard the Aphelion If the last remaining Communion drone near Mechanized, Memorial and the pirates had any concerns about being so outnumbered, it showed no signs of it, keeping its focus on the dazed insectoid pirate. But then the two large pirates moved over toward the drone, one stepping between it and the dazed pirate. Both of the hulking figures swung large fists at the drone, but it managed to dodge both attacks. From further down the hallway, Mechanized and Memorial could hear the faint sound of blasters being fired and screams. Out in space The two remaining pirate interceptors poured on the speed, as they zipped and dodged around the larger ships, trying to line up shots at the three Communion needle ships darting through space. The first interceptor slid underneath the Aphelion, banking up sharply as it opened fire on one of the needle ships zooming by. The bright flashes of energy streaked through space, but the pilot's timing had been off, as they passed harmlessly behind the Communion fighter as it flew by. The other interceptor came up behind another needle ship, rolling in unison as the Communion ship tried to shake it. The pilot opened fire, and the Communion fighter exploded in a bright flash of silver. The large Communion ship that was still active had moved in much closer toward the pirate ships and the Aphelion, as it opened fire on the pirate flagship. Bright flashed erupted along the hull of the large vessel, as it took damage from the opening salvo, but it was far from out of the fight.
  22. Okay, it has been over 24 hours, moving us along. The two tough pirates will move over and attack the last Communion drone nearby (the one attacking the Elite pirate), both miss with 11 and 13. Out in space, the last two pirate interceptors will go after 2 of the needle ships: 7 and 21, so a hit and a miss. Needle ship's toughness save: 20, not good enough so it explodes. Round Thirteen 24 Pirate Interceptor pilots (5) (3 disabled, 1 injured (2)) 24 Galvanic (bruised 5, 2 HP) 17 Elite Pirates (1 on flagship: bruised; Insectoid on Apheilon: bruised 2, dazed) 16 Average Pirates (1 on Aphelion staggered) 15 Mechanized (unharmed, 2 HP) 15 Waymaker (unharmed) 12 Corona (unharmed, fatigued, 1 HP) 12 Sovereign (bruised) 10 Antibodies (6 aboard the Aphelion) 8 Needle Fighters (2 near pirates and merchant) 7 Memorial (bruised, 1 HP) 3 Tough Pirates Galv is up Ecal. (And Rav, I still need a DC 24 toughness save for Corona!)
  23. So, with the CK dazed, Synapse will continue trying to maintain the grapple. This time she gets a 29 on her Will check (full Will save to resist). She will again try to apply damage, DC 25 Will save (minus any bruises).
  24. Goose, that actually does help, to Aid another, you only had to beat a DC 10 to give a +2 bonus.
  25. Giang took a drink of water from a waterskin as she listened to Lord Zandar explain where the trail seemed to be leading them. Glancing a moment over at the Roman legionnaires, who were resting in the shade of the jungle after the long march, she looked back at their host and her friends and classmates. "It is seeming less and less likely that whomever these strangers are, they did not accidently wander through the portal that brought them here." "After initially encountering signs of civilization, they did not follow those signs toward possible help, but instead made their way further into the wilds. Then their path has all but led them straight to some ancient ruins. While they may not be hostile, so far they have sought to avoid contact with anyone, so may not appreciate our appearance to learn who they are and what they are doing here. Especially not when we bring the Tribune and his men along in our wake."
