Dee briefly lost sight of the creature, as it dove under the water and apparently tried to attack Erick and push him underwater as well. But for once, the Crocodile King failed to accomplish what it wanted, thrashing about after colliding with Erick and once again at least partially surfacing. That was all that Dee needed, as she sent Erick a brief mental message. Get ready, if this next trick works, he should be a bit too distracted to easily avoid you. The Englishwoman then focused her telepathy on the creature's mind, reaching out to try to make a connection to that wild mind. There was some initial resistance, but she pushed her way through, making the connection with its surface thoughts. But Dee was not really there to try to read any of those thoughts, it was merely the bridge for what she really wanted to do. Now that she had the link, it was her will against the Crocodile King's. Pushing into other parts of his mind, Dee pushed through his resistance, locking him up as she continued to struggle with his will. She tried to apply some "pressure," in an effort to knock the creature out, but his will still proved too strong. But at the very least, they were locked in this mental battle, making it far harder for him do anything else other that struggle against her mental grapple.

Okay, Synapse is going to try to mentally grapple the Crock King. She gets a 14 on her power check with Telepathy. SIGH. Will use a HP for reroll, 20, which also gets a +10 as it is below 11, so a 30! Her Will check for the mental grapple is 29, if successful, she will do damage based on her +10 Wisdom bonus, so DC 25 Will save for the CK. Also, if he wants to do anything other than trying to escape the mental grapple, he must make a DC 20 Concentration roll.

The Communion Ship Galvanic's punch smashes through the chest armor of the Communion drone, sending the thing flying backward into a wall where it smashes through and into a chamber beyond. The Tempestian then starts off down the hallway, looking for more damage to cause to the vessel from the inside. She only goes a short distance before she comes to sealed door across blocking the hallway. As she pulls up to a stop, the door slides open like an iris, reveling a two more of the Communion drones on the other side, both apparently ready for her. The Aphelion The Communion drone facing the insectoid pirate slashes once more with its claws, scoring a hit that gouged deep cuts along the pirate's left shoulder. The blow knocked the pirate backward, where it landed on the ground, dazed from the attack, but not quite out of the fight just yet. In Space The remaining two needle ships banked and looped around, trying to bring the odds back in their favor. Focusing on the already damaged pirate interceptors, the two ships opened fire blast of green energy. Only one managed to score a hit, the blast ripping apart the rear section of the interceptor, disabling the craft and leaving it drifting powerless in the void.

Nope, only gets a 22, so is destroyed. On the Aphelion, the last active drone near Mecha and Memorial attacks the elite pirate, hitting with a 19. The pirate gets a 19, so another bruise and dazed once more. The last two needle ships go after the damaged pirate interceptors: 26 and 9 so a hit and a miss. So far things had been going fairly well for the three teenage girls. Giang had managed to keep their chariot neck and neck with the other leaders, avoiding any mishaps that had befallen some of the other racers. Then the orange spheres shot up, floating toward all the racers. Giang had prepared to try to dodge one coming toward her, when Thaelia stepped into its path, getting trapped in whatever it was. "Thaelia!" The Asian teen cried out, taking some of her focus off the track and controlling the reins, as their chariot went off course, looping around and failing to make much headway.

Aboard the Aphelion With the Communion it had been facing down, one of the large pirates turned to try to help its fellow hulking pirate. Moving over near the other Communion drone, the massive pirate swung a large fists at the drone, but the drone easily dodged aside. But the other large pirate connected with a powerful swing, which knocked off the drone’s head and half of its upper torso, sending the debris flying back into the needle ship. The insectoid pirate spun around as it swung its energy weapon at the Communion drone, but the drone easily dodged the somewhat clumsy attack. The remaining pirates made a bit more space between them and the last drone, opening fire with another barrage of blaster shots. Only one of the blasts managed to hit the drone, but the drone's metal coating easily took the blast. Out in Space The pirate interceptors zipped back around the larger vessels, trying to line up shots on the four remaining needle ships. The bright laser beams of the interceptors lanced through the darkness of space. Two of the needle ships exploded in silver clouds, while a third managed to roll out of path of the attack.

Okay, the two tough pirates will both attack the same drone: 14 and 26, so a miss and a critical hit! Drone only gets a 15 and is destroyed! Will go ahead with the other pirates, the Elite pirate attacks the drone on it, missing with a 9. Three other pirates will try to aid the three other pirates in attacking a drone, 19, 10 and 6. So two aid and one does not. The other pirates attack (two with +7): 14 and 26 and 14, so only one hit. Drones toughness save: 20, just enough. The pirate interceptors continue their battle, attacking the needle ships: 25, 26 and 9 so 2 hits (1 a crit!) and a miss. Needle ship toughness saves: 21 and 14, so both destroyed! Dee's telekinetic forcefield protected her from the worst of the impact of Erick being flung into her, but she still felt a sting from the impact as he fell into the water in front of her, appearing to be dazed. The Englishwoman focused quickly back on the Crocodile King, readying herself to try to deliver another, stronger mental blast. "Well, when you put something back together that has been broken, there are still cracks that do not always fully heal." She stated as she sent another, more powerful blast of red psychic energy at the creature, pushing her power beyond its normal limits. But even this proved ineffective, as the creature shook it off with little effect.

Okay, you will be able to catch up with him, as he runs toward a side exit from the main room on the lower level.

Aboard one of the Communion ships As Galvanic smashed one of the Communion drones she found after entering the breach she had made in the ship, another drone came rushing over toward her, even as the ship’s hull began the breach up once again. The drone slashed at the Tempestian with its long claw like fingers, racking them across the back of a shoulder as she tried to dodge aside. In the badly damaged Nomad As Corona pried herself out of the damaged cockpit, having to tear out some seats to get free it had been so badly crushed, she heard sounds outside the hull in the darkness. She had moved back into the main body of the Nomad, when two silver covered humanoids forced their way in through a hole in the ship’s side. The two creatures stopped, their cold eyes turning and focusing on the Lor as she stepped into the ship’s lounge. Aboard the Aphelion The drone fighting with Memorial reached out towards her once more, its hand once again crackling with green energy. This time it managed to grasp Memorial's upper arm, the green energy erupting up her arm and into her shoulder. But while Memorial could feel it dance across her faintly, it seemed to have no real effect on her. Down the hallway, the drones continued attacking the pirates that were facing them. One of the drones slashed out at one of the large horned pirates, racking its claws across the pirate’s chest. But like so many other attacks the pirate had taken, it seemed little harmed by the drone, roaring with anger, not pain, as it prepared to try to smash the drone once again. Another drone tried to press its advantage against the insectoid pirate it had injured previously. But as it slashed out with its sharp claws, the pirate rolled away, coming back up with his weapon at the ready. The third drone charged another of the pirates that had been shooting at it, its claws sweeping out in front of it, trying to cut down yet another pirate. But this time its target dodged backward, narrowly avoiding the attack, a relieve look visible on its face. Out in Space With only three pirate interceptors still even partially functional, eh Communion needle ships now had a slight numerical advantage. Two of the agile needle ships chased after the one interceptor that had thus far avoided any damage, firing the green blasts of energy as they spun after the pirate, who was desperately trying to out maneuver them. Both needle ships managed to land blasts on the interceptor, but neither seemed to cause much in the way of damage, and the pirate fighter streaked off as it looped around Sovereign's flagship, preparing for a counter run against one of the needle ships. The other two needle ships each chased one of the other interceptors, firing as they went. The pilot of the more heavily damaged interceptor managed to jerk to one side at just the right moment, dodging the blasts meant for it and banking away from the needle ship. The last interceptor took another hit, bits of a wing shearing off, but it otherwise was still in the fight. The three needle ships that had been attacking the Nomad suddenly no longer had a target. So instead they sped off towards the battle taking place around the Aphelion, quickly covering the distance as they rammed into the pirate ship which had already been hit by three other needle ships.

Okay, going to keep us moving along. One of the drones moves up to attack Galv, hitting with a 17, so another DC 24 toughness save for Galv. The last drone near Memorial/Mechanzied attacks Memorial hitting with a 23, but it was trying to use a stun attack, and Memorial is immune to Fort saves, so it has not effect. The three drones near the pirates continue their fight, one on the tough alien, one on the elite pirate, and one on an average pirate: 22, 16, 14 so only the tough alien was hit, he has a DC 19 Fort, and gets a 23. The four Communion fighters near the Aphelion attack the three remaining pirate interceptors (the first two on the same target): 26, 26, 16 and 14, so three hits and one miss. First fighter’s two toughness saves: 30 and 31, so it is unharmed! The second interceptor gets a 24, so it picks up another injured.

Okay, we are back to Deep Freeze.

As they finished the tour and headed into North Bay, Dee looked around at the large homes and estates that were common in this part of Freedom City. The Englishwoman had grown up amid such luxury, although her family's estate in Dorset had been rather secluded. Soon they had arrived at Erick’s manor, an impressive structure light along the bay. "Quite a change from a penthouse down near some casinos." Dee stated with a slight teasing in her tone. She then looked over as Erick mentioned Alaina moving out. "Alaina? Oh, right, your assistant, or the like, who was with you in Sochi?"

Starshot lived up to his name, as he landed a square hit on the feline pirate captain. But as well placed as the shot was, the feline alien flinched from the blast, but then otherwise seemed unhurt. "Well, you do pack a bit of a sting." She retorted. "But so do we." At that, four of her men opened fire once again. Two continued to target Starshot, one firing well over the augmented humans head. But the other managed to clip him on his left shoulder. The other two shifted targets away from Deep Freeze, and firing instead at Balus. One of the shots hit the general's servant, causing him to call out in pain as he ducked down behind another vendor’s booth, gripping his side.

The regular pirates are firing again, 2 at Starshot: 25 and 19, so 1 hit and a miss. DC 20 toughness save for Starshot. The other two shoot a Balus, getting a 21 and 12 so again 1 hit and a miss. Balus gets a 17, so he picks up a bruise.

Silver just makes it with a 26

Foreshadow had spotted where the teleporting woman and Salnikov had teleported to, now he saw them run into the crowd and disappear from where he could currently see them. Two of the remaining gunmen were still dazed from being shot previously, so they had no immediate reaction to Foreshadow's statement. The only unhurt and conscious gunman however choose to turn away from the costumed vigilante and fire his weapon at the man who had sent the blast of fire into one of the other gunmen. The burst was aimed a bit high, harmlessly passing over the fire using man’s head and impacting into a wall. The gunman then released the stop on his harness and repelled the rest of the way down to the ground floor. Widowmaker was still down on his knees, pulling the thick blade Dagger had fired into him out of his stomach. The blade was red with blood as the large man dropped the blade down to the floor. Salnikov's four other bodyguards all took aim at the man that had momentarily stopped Widowmaker and opened fire. The armored man leapt and flipped to one side, dodging each shot as he landed smoothly in a crouch. He then jerked his upper body back at the last second as a jet of fire shot past him, striking a column with a small flash of fire. Dagger stood back upright, raising one of the blade launchers on his forearms and aiming at the fire using man for a brief second. "Be glad you are not on my list tonight." He then stated before lowering his arm and leaping into the air and out over the balcony edge. Executing a perfect piked somersault, he landed on the main floor below and then took off in a run in the direction the teleporting woman and Salnikov had gone.

There is only one gunman active this round, he aims at Incendiary and fires, missing with a 13. He then repels down to the main floor. The four bodyguards open fire on Dagger, all four miss. Incendiary will fire at Dagger as well, missing with a 11. Dagger will opt to make two move actions this round.
