  1. I assume the tradeoff will be only -1 def/+1atk, as that is all you need to hit for taking 10? There was still one drone fighting you, so your choice if you want to hit it or blast it (though I guess melee would require a -2 defe/+2 atk tradeoff). Anyway the drone only gets a 20 for a toughness save, so is destroyed.
  2. "Wires? How would I bloody get wires staged out here at a moment's notice?" Dee asked as she released Annie. "That was all the power of my mind, telekinesis." The Englishwoman then glanced back toward the mountain side as Annie fired at her creation and missed (not seemingly on purpose). In any event, it did not matter, as Ulysses was able to throw the automation off the cliff and down to the ground, quickly following up by executing an elbow drop that badly damaged the robot. Dee began to smile, feeling that they seemed to have things well in hand. Until she heard the ticking of the clock inside the robot change, as it started to sound like a countdown, as opposed to just the passage of time. "You said this was rigged to blow up when it was done right?" She asked Annie, although she really already knew the answer. "I think that self-destruct mechanism has just been triggered ahead of time." Glancing over to see where Ulysses was in relation to the robot, Dee took a slight step forward as she lifted up both hands and focused on the space around the robot, pushing her mind as she had never really had before. Her eyes glowed with red psychic energy, as did her hands, as a large glowing dome of telekinetic energy formed over the downed robot. One Dee hoped was strong enough to contain the blast.
  3. The Aphelion The two large pirates again take powerful swings at the Communion drones they were fighting. One once again misses the drone, which dodges aside, moving into position for a counter attack. But the other hulking pirate lands a hit on the drone it is facing, bringing a powerful fist down onto the shoulder of the drone and smashing in the upper half of the drone’s chest and sending it into the deck in a twisted heap. The other pirates now seem to try to take better aim at the drone that was cutting into them, firing at it in pairs, one trying to help force the drone to dodge into the path of the second one's blast. The first two pairs still fail to land a hit on the agile drone, but the last pair manages to strike the drone in its torso, however its metal skin proves resilient enough to take the blast with no ill effects. In Space The three remaining Pirate interceptors still in the fight were starting to face long odds. Two of them were damaged, and they were now outnumbered by the needle fighters. But they continued to maneuver and try to line up their next shots, their bright energy beams cutting through the darkness around the Aphelion and the other pirate ships as they fired after the fast, darting needle ships. Two of the interceptors managed to hit a pair of the Communion fighters, but the blast were deflected off the ships' hulls with no ill effects. The larger pirate ships continued firing at the advancing Communion capital ships, even as the Nomad smashed into the lead one, crippling it. Bright beams of energy flashed across the darkness of space, blasting into the hulls of the lead ship as it began to list slightly. Fewer shots were fired at the more distance vessel, but a few hits were scored, but damage seemed minimal thus far.
  4. Okay, the tough pirates attack the drones they are fighting with: 21 and 16, so a hit and a miss. Drone tough save: 18, so it fails and is smashed. The average pirates fire at a drone in three groups of two, one aiding the other targeting: still only one hit. Drone tough save: 29, so its fine. The three active pirate interceptors will attack more of the needle ships: 13, 22, 26 so two hits. Needle Ship toughness saves: 21 and 30, so both make them. Round Eleven 24 Pirate Interceptor pilots (5) (2 disabled, 1 injured (1), 1 injured (2)) 24 Galvanic (bruised 4, 2 HP) (entered Vacuum on round 8) 17 Elite Pirates (1 on flagship: bruised; Insectoid on Apheilon: bruised, dazed) 16 Average Pirates (1 on Aphelion staggered, dazed) 15 Mechanized (unharmed, 2 HP) 15 Waymaker (unharmed) 12 Corona (unharmed, fatigued, 1 HP) 12 Sovereign (bruised) 10 Antibodies (9 aboard the Aphelion) 8 Needle Fighters (4 near pirates and merchant, 3 attacking the Nomad) 7 Memorial (bruised, 1 HP) 3 Tough Pirates So, back to Galv in space, and Mechanized on the Aphelion.
  5. That would be a miss. I thought I mentioned before that they are minions, so you can take 10 and hit (their defense is 19).
  6. HG, you put up your OOC post in the IC, move it over here and then you can edit that post with your IC post.
  7. Well, I think the dome gets a toughness save against the explosion (it will have +14 toughness)
  8. Dee hesitated a moment as Erick leapt into action, attacking the Crocodile King with his escrima, but failing to seem to achieve any damage to the large creature. Drawing back some as the creature grabbed a hold of Erick and lifted him up, she gestured back the way they had come to Professor Zaki. "Head back to the entrance professor." She said in a low voice, as she focused her attention on the Crocodile King. Shining her flashlight toward the melee, the Englishwoman reached out with her mind towards the Crocodile King's, trying to take control of his mind to make him free Erick. But the creature had a strong mind, and was able to resist her attempts to take control.
  9. Okay, Synapse is going to use a HP to buy off the fatigue from last round, then Extra Effort to stunt a power off her array: Create Object 14 (telekinetic dome) to place over the robot.
  10. Synapse gets a 30 on her Notice check.
  11. Synapse will try Mind Control to get CK to release Foreshadow, only getting a 19 on her power check.
  12. Dee had to marvel some at the sheer impossible complexity of the steam and clockwork creation, a feat that would have been impossible normally. But then, if she had wanted to try to build something similar back home, she would have used rather different materials. But then when the clock stopped ticking and the clockwork robot began activating, the Englishwoman frowned. "Bloody..." She and Annie were in a rather precarious spot, sitting atop the robot and trying to defuse it. They were rather likely to end up tumbling from it once it started moving, down the thirty foot cliff. So Dee surrounded herself with the red glow of her telekinesis as she focused it on being able to lift as much as possible. Reaching over, she grabbed a hold of Annie's arm. "Hold still." She stated, as she then lifted both of them into the air with her mind, moving them quickly away from the robot and back down to the bottom of the cliff. Releasing Annie when the landed, she glanced back up, hoping that Ulysses would be alright, but figuring he could easily handle a fall from that distance.
  13. For now she will take the fatigue (well, at the end of this round anyway). I might use a hero point to remove it later.
  14. Okay, Synapse is going to stunt a power similar to something she has used before off her Power Reserve: Flight 1 and Super Strength 2 (limited: to lifting capacity) (4 pp total), so she can fly herself and Annie down off the cliff side via Telekinesis. (and she is putting up her forcefield)
  15. And Synapse continues her trend of poor initiative rolls with a 11.
  16. Synapse gets a 12.
  17. Dee once again looked at a marvel of antiquated technology with a slight hint of amusement. While Annie's work was certainly precise and well done, it still was done with what was in Dee's mind, old technology. Of course, that did not prevent it from being very dangerous, which Annie had certainly proved with her other work. "Alright, I'll follow your lead then." Dee replied as she prepared to help Annie try to disarm the thing before it activated. "Just tell me what needs to be done." While she was speaking with Annie, Dee sent Ulysses a mental message. Keep a close eye on this thing, in case we fail to stop it in time, or Annie is trying to double cross us here.
  18. Well, looking back, when we started the thread, Dee had a Disable Device of +18. But IC wise, it would make a bit of sense that she assist Annie, as Annie knows about the machine, as she built it. So Dee can automatically succeed in aiding.
  19. "Hmm, other than the vampires, sounds like my sort of place." Dee commented with a smile as Erick mentioned the history of the Eclipse. "But, I suppose there are likely plenty of other options to allow us to avoid that one. Besides, if that sort of history is well known, I imagine the reputation attracts a lot of those fascinated with the idea of becoming a vampire." The Englishwoman glanced absentmindedly at the large impressive buildings they were passing by. While they were architectural marvels, Dee was not exactly a fan of the secretive organizations that were based out of them. Instead, she focused on Erick's question about how long she was going to be in Freedom City. "Well, it is only a holiday over here you know." She began with a small smile. "But I do not have any pressing engagements back home, so I am not flying back until late next week."
  20. The Aphelion The remaining drone near Mechanized rushed forward toward her once more, its arm crackling with green energy as it slashed its hand at her, the energy crackling along its palm and clawlike fingers. However, this time the power armored human managed to dodged the attack, sidestepping and putting a small bit of space between her and the drone. The other near the two heroes continued to focus on Memorial, slashing at her with its claws. This time it managed to connect, but Memorial's durable exterior proved able to ward off the attack with no damage. Further down the hall, the other four Communion drones continued their attacks on the pirates. One of the drones grasped one of the large pirates with a hand crackling with the green energy. The pirate went slightly ridged as pain arched through its body, trying to stun it, but it then shook off the effect, pulling back from the drone as it let out a roar. Another drone went after the other larger pirate, its hand also crackling with energy, but its target managed to take a few steps back and avoid the attack completely. The drone fighting the insectoid pirate slashed out once more with its claws, racking them across the priate's chitinous hide. The pirate let out a small cry of pain, as he stumbled backward and fell back down onto the ground. The last drone rushed forward toward one of the other pirates that had shot at it, pouncing on the pirate and ripping into it with its wicked claws. The pirate collapse onto the deck, maimed and bloody. In Space The four needle ships zooming around the Aphelion and other pirate ship all maneuvered into positions to try to attack the four pirate interceptors still in the battle. As the needle ships lines up their shots, three of them stuck home, while the last missed the dodging interceptor. One of the interceptors took a hit with no visible damage, the blast glancing off its hull. One of the already damaged fighters took another sharp hit, blasting off chunks of one of its stub wings, but otherwise it still remained in the battle. The third interceptor had an entire wing blasted off, along with significant damage to its thrusters, leaving it dead in space. Further away from that battle, Galvanic let loose a massive burst of electricity all around her. The four Communion drones that had attacked were all vaporized by the blast. But when the lightning hit the nearby sections of the large Communion ship, it danced along the ship’s hull for a few moments, before dissipating with no apparent effect.
  21. Okay, a drone will attack Mechanized, but misses. Another attacks Memorial, and hits, but her Impervious takes the hit. Further down the hall, the drones attack the pirates (2 on the tough, 1 on the elite and 1 on a average): 26, 13, 25, 19, three hits and a miss. The tough pirate has a DC 19 fort save: which he makes. The elite pirate has a DC 24 toughness save: which he misses, so hie is bruised and dazed. Average pirate has the same save, which he misses, so he goes down. Out in space, the needle ships attack the interceptors (the damaged 2 are last two in the order): 24, 18, 11 and 19, so three hits. Interceptor toughness saves (damaged one last): 31, 13 and 17 (to 16), so one is fine, one is disabled and broken, the other picks up another injured. HG, you can also go ahead and post for Memorial on the Aphelion.
  22. Dee had found the stench of the place almost unbearable, but had continued on despite that. She had not been particularly happy to find they had to wade into water, but continued onward. When the voice in the darkness had spoken, she had shined her flashlight in that direction, allowing Erick to do the initial response. No, sounds like he knows a fair bit about this place. She mentally replied to Erick before focusing on studying this Crocodile King. He was certainly imposing, and likely very deadly. But with her and Erick, looks could be very deceiving. "We encountered Zero a few months ago." She began in response to the king's questions. "When he was trying to use his serum to achieve glory for Russian at an international sports competition. We stopped his plans, but he managed to escape. Since then we have been trying to track down some of his other projects." "Was Zero the one that injected you with his formula?"
  23. Dee took a few deep breaths after the climb up the rocks as she looked the direction Annie indicating, taking a moment to spot the machine, and frowning as she spotted it. "Bloody marvelous." The Englishwoman stated with a hint of admiration as she looked back at Annie. "And I will up hold my end of the deal, I hope you will find what you are looking for in our world." She then looked back up at the machine as Ulysses mentioned going up there to break it. "Yes, we certainly will want to break it, but let's not rush into this just now." She glanced back at Annie. "Is there any way we can try to shut it down before it activates?"
  24. Synapse makes the climb with a 13
  25. Charles Malone, if he was indeed Charles Malone, did not reply question about his identity, but did climb into the passenger seat of the Volvo with no objection as Liquify sat behind the wheel. Soon the two heroes had their small convey heading off back towards downtown Freedom City, making their way back toward the tech company that Slice and his men had attempted to rob. Malone remained silent the entire trip, just calmly staring out the windows at the city lights. By the time they reached the tech company, the police were still finishing up at the scene. There was no sign of Slice or his men that had been knocked out there, and for a moment the police had drawn their weapons at the approach of the two vehicles, relaxing when Coiled Lightning identified himself. They did seem a little annoyed that the two heroes had driven the getaway van to meet the contact, and a bit more so that they had brought the suspect and his vehicle back with them. While others took Malone and the conscious thugs into custody and began examining the vehicles for clues, other officers took the two heroes statements. "You know, next time, just give us a call and we will come out to the site to take any suspects into custody. We like to have a chance to get photographs of the scene and such." One of the officers suggested during the questioning.
