  1. Sure enough there was no alarm as Charlie made his way into the stairwell and up to the rooftop door. Once again there was no alarm, the door locked from the inside, so Charlie soon had it almost fully closed with some cloth blocking the latch from securing. Making his way back into the museum, the meandered along his way as he saw Avery Bittman emerging from the back rooms. The older man had his thick glasses on, his clothes rumpled just as they had been when Charlie had seen him a few nights earlier. He had a somewhat downcast look as he looked about the museum, before focusing his gaze on Charlie. "I'm sorry sir, but we are closing so you will need to make your way to the exit. But do please come again." He stated, trying to put on a smile.
  2. The drones reflex saves: only one makes it, their toughness saves (last one is the one that made its reflex save): they all miss so are destroyed in the blast. The Communion ship is not bothered by the blast. Rav, you can go for Corona now (she would have seen that blast from Galv.
  3. Paradigm half raised an eyebrow at the curt response that came from the engineering section, but decided not to press Samran-86 on the issue. Hopefully whomever it was that was working on things down there would be able to get things working better, there was little the Naram could do to help with that, save buy them more time. "Kharag is correct, if any Communion get past me, and some may well if they are closer now, all aboard this vessel will be targets." She stated to the Lor officer. "But, we may be able to help balance the odds a bit more favorably. I can have a few more Praetorians come aboard, to assist with any boarders. Meanwhile, I will go back out there and do what I can to stop them and perhaps even slow down that larger Communion ship."
  4. Only about 5 feet.
  5. He spots her down on the ground level, near the fleeing crowds of club goers.
  6. As Foreshadow quickly took out one of their number, and their primary target disappeared, the other gunmen began adjusting. One briefly aimed his assault rifle at Foreshadow, and then decided not to take the risk of hitting his unconscious comrade by accident. So instead the man got himself swinging forward as he swung up and tried to kick Foreshadow. The kick was incredibly awkward, and Foreshadow hardly needed to move to avoid it. The man's grip on his rope fumbled, and if it was not for the locking mechanism on the harness, he likely would have fallen down the now empty dance floor below. Instead, the man ended up swinging back away from Foreshadow, spinning a bit out of control as he did. Another gunman had swung around, scanning for where Salnikov might have been teleported to. He stopped as he turned toward the other balcony, spotting the arms dealer and the female bodyguard. "Hey over..." the gunman began, only to be cut off as the woman sent an number of small throwing blades through the air, several burying themselves into the man as he jerked slightly and then went limp. In another flash of light, the woman and Salnikov disappeared once more. The three remaining gunman selected alternate targets and began to open fire. One targeted Widowmaker, hitting the large blond man squarely in the chest. But the bullet had no better luck harming the man than Foreshadow's escrima had, and the bullet bounced harmlessly off. The other two opened fire at two of Salnikov's other bodyguards, but both targets ducked down behind cover and the bursts struck furniture and the wall but otherwise caused no other harm. Widowmaker did not exactly seem to have been quite so ready to give Foreshadow a truce, but the large man still turned to focus on Dagger. Charging forward, Widowmaker reached out with both arms, trying to grab the would-be assassin in a bear hug. But Dagger proved far to elusive, ducking back into a roll as he put some distance between himself and the hulking figure. Salnikov's other bodyguards popped back up from their cover, aiming pistols at the two gunmen that had shot at them and opening fire. Each of the two gunmen were struck once, both injured by the hits, one severely so. From further along the balcony, another disguised bodyguard appeared, an average looking man that had taken cover behind a column. Stepping back out, he raised one hand up toward the gunman that had shot Widowmaker, sending a burst of flame the man's way. The jet of flame struck the gunman, causing him to scream in pain and panic as parts of his clothing caught fire. There was a brief moment where the gunman flailed about, inadvertently releasing the stop on his harness, causing him to plunge down to the floor below. Over on the balcony, Dagger brought his right arm up as he fired one large blade from the bracer on his right arm at Widowmaker before leaping into the air and flipping easily over the large blond bodyguard to land behind him. The blade buried itself in Widowmaker's stomach, causing him to double over in pain as he fell to his knees, hurt and dazed, but not completely out of the fight.
  7. Okay, Fade initially holds her action, but when one of the gunmen spots her and Salnikov, she sends a bunch of throwing blades his way, hitting with a 32. DC 24 toughness save for the gunman, nope. She and Salnikov then teleport once again. One of the gunmen swings at Foreshadow, trying to kick him, not even close with a 6. One gunman aims and fires at Widowmaker, just hitting with a 17, but the bullet bounces of harmlessly. The other two gunmen open up at Salnikov's normal bodyguards (who are going for weapons), missing with a 9 and 11. Widowmaker rushes Dagger, missing with a 19. The four bodyguards open up on the gunmen that shot at them, 2 for each: one hit on each, one a critical!. Toughness saves (vs crit second roll): 12 and 13, which means one is injured, bruised and dazed, the other disabled and dazed. Another bodyguard, Incendiary, sends a flame blast at the gunman that shot at Widowmaker, hitting with a 23, toughness save (vs DC23): 12, so he is out. Dagger will fire his knife launcher on his right arm at Widowmaker, power attacking (-4 atk/+4 dam), hitting with a 22, DC 25 toughness save for Widowmaker, 19, so he is injured, bruised and dazed. Round Four 34 Dagger (unharmed) 27 Foreshadow (unarmed, 2 HP) 24 Fade (unharmed) 21 Gunmen (3: 1 injured, bruised, dazed; 1 disabled, dazed) 17 Widowmaker (injured, bruised, dazed) 16 bodyguards (4) 6 Incendiary (unharmed) So, back to Foreshadow.
  8. "I still think there are some things going on here that we are not fully aware of." Dee commented as Ulysses tried to explain what had happened to him. She was relieved that for the moment he seemed to be back under control and hoped that it would stay that way. The Englishwoman then glanced over her shoulder at Annie as the steam powered hero focused on her and mentioned things working out. "Yeah, about that...Annie is willing to help us now, in return for transport back to our dimension when this is all said and done." "But problem is, Annie already set some big things in motion to try to finish off the railroad, once and for all." Dee then added. "So, we still have some work to do, and she will help us as best she can."
  9. Well, two had moved into melee with you, but you can shoot one of them without penalty (even by just stepping back a step or two first). The drone only gets a 20 on its toughness save, so you blast a big hole in it and it is down.
  10. The Aphelion The two large pirates continued their melee with two of the Communion drones, swinging powerful fists as they tried to smash the drones into pieces. But they were far more brawn than skill, and the Communion continued to dodge and weave aside with easy, their attentions remaining focused on their targets as green energy began crackling along the lengths of their arms. The insectoid pirate lunged forward once more, spinning around as he brought his energy weapon down onto the drone he was fighting. The crackling blade struck the drone, but failed to penetrate its metallic hide, instead glancing off with merely a faint scratch along the surface. As one of their number went down, the other pirates had all drawn their weapons now, the ones holding unconscious comrades firing one handed, as they opened fire at the lone Communion drone not in melee. But between their unsteady hands and the drone's agility, all six blasts flew wide, creating more potmarks in the Aphelion's walls. Glancing away from his fight, the insectoid pirate yelled something at them in their unknown language, clearly irritated with them.
  11. Round Ten 24 Pirate Interceptor pilots (5) (1 disabled, 2 injured) 24 Galvanic (bruised, 3 HP) (entered Vacuum on round 8) 17 Elite Pirates (1 on flagship: bruised) 16 Average Pirates (1 on Aphelion staggered, dazed) 15 Mechanized (unharmed, 2 HP) 15 Waymaker (unharmed) 12 Corona (unharmed, fatigued, 1 HP) 12 Sovereign (bruised) 10 Antibodies (11 aboard the Aphelion, 4 attacking Galv) 8 Needle Fighters (4 near pirates and merchant, 3 attacking the Nomad) 7 Memorial (bruised, 1 HP) 3 Tough Pirates So, back to Galv (though she has 4 toughness saves to make). I will handle the pirates on the Aphelion now as well, then Mechanized will be back up there. The Elite pirate attacks a drone, hitting, drone's toughness: 22, just good enough to survive. The pirates carrying the others have now drawn their weapons and are firing as well, so that is 6 pirates firing at the drone not in melee: and they all manage to miss.
  12. I'll make one more IC post before the scene cut then
  13. In Space Galvanic continues to hold her breath and endure the freezing cold of space as she sped away from the spiraling needle like fighters and back toward the rear of one of the large Communion vessels. Focusing her energy, electricity crackling around her and drove her hands into the strange metal that made up the hull. The electricity arched along the surface of the vessel, not appearing to cause any significant damage to any systems that might be present, but the Tempestian did manage to tear open a large hole in the hull to an open space beyond. But before she could really focus on what was beyond the breech she had created, the strange metal around the edges of the hole peeled back further on their own, widening the hole as four figures leapt out into the void at Galvanic. They were all humanoids, but covered in a silver metal from head to foot. Their mechanical eyes were dull and lifeless and their mouths open in soundless screams as long clawed fingers lashed out at the Tempestian. All four swarmed around her, slashing and stabbing with their claws. While the lead Communion ship lumbered forward, passing by the Nomad, the three needle ships that had been attacking Galvanic banked sharply to come about as they sped toward the Lor ship. Green energy crackled along their hulls before shooting out at the Nomad, one after the other. But Corona banked and dove, dodging each blast with relative ease. Back near the Aphelion, the pirate interceptors continued their wild dog fight with the surviving Communion needle ships. The pirates executed tight maneuvers, banking and rolling, to get back into positions to attack one of the Communion fighters. The bright blasts from three of the interceptors flashed in the darkness, but the needle ships which were the targets all nimbly rolled away unharmed. But the fourth interceptor fell into position behind one of the needle ships, banking as it rolled and then opening fire. The blasts struck the needle ship squarely, blasting it apart into a silver cloud as the pirate interceptor streaked past, looking for a new target.
  14. And I forgot the Communion attacking Galv need to make toughness saves against her electric aura. they all make the DC 20 toughness save.
  15. Very sorry to hear that Ecal, hope you feel better soon! Yeah, it is up there in the -2 defense size. It gets a 39 on its toughness save. So I will say that will not damage any systems, but I will let you breach the hull. As this is the second round in space without immunities, the Fort save ticks up to DC16, but I think you still automatically make that save still. As you do, the hull peels back, widening the space, and four of the antibodies come leaping out to attack you, and they all hit, as minions, the one natural 20 is not a crit. That is 4 DC 24 toughness saves. The three needle ships that were fighting Galv turn their attention to the Nomad, they roll incredibly bad and all miss the Nomad. On the Aphelion, the tough pirates continue attack the drones, both miss Rolling us over to the start of a new round, the pirate interceptors continue their dog fight with the needle ships, only 1 hit this time. Needle ships toughness roll: 16, so it explodes.
  16. Normally I would say yes, but Ex might want to rp out Ulysses waking up after his little loss of control.
  17. "I have been covered in my share of grease and engine oil myself, but I'll have to take your word on living in a cave." Dee replied with a half grin. "As for the Thugee, you might see them that way, but I can assure you, they fully believe you are devoted to their cause." The Englishwoman's faint grin faded quickly as Annie vaguely described her latest plan for the railroad. "Wonderful." She said flatly as she looked over to Ulysses unconscious form. "We are going to need him in that case. Hopefully he will be in a more reasonable state after this little nap." And with that, she moved over to try to rouse the sleeping steam powered hero.
  18. "Yes, the hot tub certainly helped distract from the trials of that vacation." Dee replied with a grin before she focused out on the towering spiral towers of Pyramid Plaza as they drew closer. She gave a glance back at Erick as he mentioned opting for a location closer to his "work," instead of one of the penthouses in one of the three towers. "Well, I cannot say that surprises me any I am afraid." She started, giving him another grin. The Englishwoman glanced to the south toward part of Midtown and the dome holding the Starlight Room as Erick explained what its significance was. "Hmm, I suppose it could be an interesting dinning venue, so long as there was dancing at some alternative or underground club afterward."
  19. This time it gets a 18, so as a minion, is destroyed.
  20. The Aphelion Two of the Communion drones rushed forward toward Mechanized, their long claws lashing out with blinding speed at the suit of powered armor. Both scored hits on the large mecha, but its plating proved able to withstand the assault, the claws racking across with a shrill scraping noise, but otherwise causing little damage. The other two Communion drones from the forward needle ship attacked Memorial, their claws flashing at her in the dim light. But Memorial was just a bit quicker, bobbing back from the first slash and then sidestepping the second as she stayed in close to continue her melee with her hated enemy. Further down the corridor, the other four Communion drones were engaged with the pirate boarding party the two heroes had previously been fighting. Two of the drones lashed out at the hulking horned pirates. While one of the large pirates managed to block the incoming attack, the other drone slashed the second across its chest, but the pirate's tough, fur covered hide proved more durable than the drone had anticipated, causing only superficial damage and causing the pirate to roar, mainly in annoyance. Another drone slashed at the insectoid pirate that was in charge of the boarding party, but the alien dodged aside, as he reset his weapon, looking for an opening to make a counterstrike. The last drone had more success, rushing towards one of the pirates that had shot at is and swiping its claws across the pirates upper torso, sending the alien spinning backward and to the deck with a spray of green blood. In Space Around the Aphelion and the various large pirate ships, the Communion needle fighters gracefully looped back around, darting around some of the larger ships as they went, trying to line up shots at the pirate interceptors. Green blasts of energy flashed through the void as they opened fire. Two of the pirate pilots had just begun evasive maneuvers, rolling out of the path of the blasts by inches. Another two tried to evade as well, but still taking hits that caused minor damaged to their spacecraft. The last interceptor was struck solidly, the green energy arching across its frame as a section by the engine exploded. The spacecraft spun out of control as it lost power, momentum carrying it further from the battle as it otherwise become a derelict. Corona took the Nomad forward, passing three of the needle ships as she went, until she came up near one of the large pirate vessels. The three needle ships ignored the Nomad, streaking across the void toward the battle taking place around the Aphelion. As they drew near, they aimed themselves at one of the medium sized pirate ships. Smaller laser batteries opened fire, managing to destroy one of the approaching needle ships, but the other two rammed into the pirate vessel, piercing the hull as they had with the Aphelion.
  21. Will keep plugging along while we wait for Ecal as best as we can. 2 antibodies will attack Mechanized, they both hit, but Mechanized's Impervious stops them. 2 others will attack Memorial, both missing. Down the hall, the other four will attack the tough pirates, elite pirate and one of the regulars, in that order: 27, 11, 10 and 24, so a tough pirate and the normal pirate are all hit. Tough pirate tough save: 26, so it makes it. Average pirate: 14, so staggered and dazed. Out in space, the five needle ships around the Aphelion will attack the pirate interceptors: 18, 25, 25, 14, 11 3 hits, 2 misses. Interceptors toughness saves: 14, 20, 16, all missed, but 2 only pick up an injured/damaged condition, while the other is so badly damaged that it is inoperable, but not completely destroyed. So, Memorial is up on the Aphelion now.
  22. Well, they are still dangling out in the air, but, seeing as your Acrobatics allows Foreshadow to make a 30' running long jump by taking 10, you can leap out there to one of the nearer ones. He misses his toughness save and is out. I will let you grab a hold of his rope as a free action (or him even).
  23. No, not visible windows or other openings (save for the launch points for the needle ships)
  24. "By air." Lorn-14 replied as he walked forward into the hanger, indicating the various hover vehicles that were currently being prepped for launch. "They have a low flight ceiling, but are quick and quiet, and can have you to the site within an hour." The Lor then glanced back at Seika for a moment, before he added. "Of course, they are not exactly sized for your assistant, so she will likely find the ride a bit cramped." A few moments later the two Lor assigned to take the hunters to the sight of the attack were ready. Both were wearing light body armor, with a vest containing various survival gear. Military grade blaster rifles were slung over their shoulders, and each looked perfectly comfortable with them. The mechanics finished the preflight checks on one of the hover vehicles and the group climbed in. Seika had to sit back in the third row of seats sideways, her legs tucked in toward her chest, in order to actually fit. Oskar was in the middle row of seats, while the two Lor took the pilot and co-pilot seats. Soon they were soaring through the air, skimming over the treetops of the jungle as they headed inland.
  25. One of the Communion ships is slightly ahead of the other, but otherwise they seem the same. It will be a move action for Corona to enter the Nomad and another move action to pilot it over to the larger Communion ships.
