  1. Charlie found the Volvo empty of any other people. The backseats were folded down, to provide more room in the back, but otherwise it was empty of any cargo as well, clearly anticipating a fair amount to be delivered by Slice and his men. The man stood off to one side, his hands still up at shoulder height and a neutral expression on his face. "I am afraid I have no intentions of answering any questions until I am handed over to the police and have been allowed to contact my legal counsel." He replied calmly as the two heroes began pressing for some answers.
  2. Hello CoverAndFire, welcome to the site! I am going to move this over to Character Building, as there is some work to be done on the character, in large part due to needing to covert back to 2e from 3e. One thing I should probably note is that this site has a solid “no killing†policy for PCs. We have PCs that have killed in the past, and that is fine. And there are some targets that are acceptable to “kill†such as robots, demons, the undead, but living criminals are generally not, except in very rare circumstances. Along those lines, characters that carry firearms (which are rare) are assumed to have them loaded with stun ammunition, so they are non-lethal. So for the character’s crunch: You need to take a look at some other character sheets, to see how we organize things and make some formatting adjustmnets. Stats: (what you term abilities): you have only spent 26 pp on them. What 3e terms Offense and Defense is a combination of Combat and Saving Throws in 2e. For Combat, there are two main parts, Base Attack Bonus (BAB) and Base Defense Bonus (BDB). Each costs 2 pp per rank. There are feats that can add to each as well, but per our house rules, you need to buy at least a third of your total as the base. So, if you wanted a total attack bonus of +10, you need to buy at least +3 of it as BAB. Saves is the Toughness save, as well as Fort (Con), Reflex (Dex) and Will (Wis) saves. Each of the later three (the exotic saves) are based on a stat (which I listed) and can be increased at a cost of 1 pp per +1. So, with Con of 14, your character has a base Fort save of +2, if you spend 4 pp on it, it becomes +6. Skills: In 2e, each pp spent on skills gives you 4 skill ranks. In addition, a lot of 3e skills don’t exist in 2e, or have different names. There is no Athletics (you would want either Climb or Swim, or a bit in both. Deception is Bluff in 2e. Perception is Notice. There is no Expertise skill, you would have Knowledge: Popular Culture. Vehicles would be Pilot. Skills that are completely out are: Close Combat, Expertise: Weapons and Ranged Combat. Feats: In 2e, Advantages are called Feats. This is a good start to work on before we get to other things.
  3. Dee's jaw tightened slightly as Annie stated she would help stop the Thuggee plot if she could be taken from this dimension back to the one Dee and Ulysses were from. On one hand, the Englishwoman was glad that Annie was willing to be reasoned with, to a degree. But on the others, she worried some about brining someone as potentially dangerous as Annie back to her own world. It was possible Annie might like things well enough to make some sort of honest path for herself, but then she might become bored, or not feel it is as free as she would like, and take up terrorism anew. "Well, we certainly would not have jurisdiction to throw you in prison for what you have done over here." Dee finally began. "If you help us stop whatever the Thuggee have planned, I will bring you back with us. How much freedom you have once there, that will really depend upon you. If you choose to follow a similar path as you have done here, you might find your freedom coming to an end quicker than you would like. But if you put your talents to other uses, I would think you will have a lot of choices before you."
  4. That hits, but it makes its toughness save with a 30. Go ahead and post IC HG.
  5. Even with that penalty, Synapse gets a 24 for her Notice check.
  6. Velocity makes the toughness save with a 24, and easily makes 26, she has Evasion 2, so gets clear.
  7. As Grim shank down to size, Velocity closed her hand halfway around the miniature pixie, helping to keep her in place as they zipped through the halls of the castle. Electrical appliances were just starting to explode, and wood bursting into flame when the speedster skidded to a halt in the library. She did not waste a nanosecond, scooping up her unconscious fiancé and taking off once again in a blur of yellow. It was just a few moments later that she skidded to a halt a short distance from the castle as the widows were blow out and loud groans foretold what was to come. Velocity took a deep breath as the castle collapsed in upon itself, quickly becoming little more than rubble. "Well, so much for easily wrapping this up." She stated as she opened her hand to look at Grim. "Though I have a feeling that is not the last anyone will see of the Duke."
  8. Yes, sadly that will miss them. HG, Memorial is up!
  9. Yeah, not exactly one of her strengths. She only gets a 9.
  10. OOC for >this thread.
  11. Centauri Prime, Lor Orbital City near Alpha Centauri 2 November 14, 2014 (Terran Calander) Lor Timemark 1316.2 (mid-morning) The news of the destruction of Lor-Van had spread quickly throughout the Republic and surrounding space beyond. In the days that had followed, refugees had poured into Centauri Prime and the other orbital cities around Alpha Centauri 2, beings displaced from a number of planets by the advance of the Communion. As if the increased crowds in the city had not made things difficult enough, a large number of the Lor security forces in the region had been transferred to help counter the Communion threat. For Yukiko, the influx of beings into the orbital city had meant an increase in her freelance work, as various systems were pushed beyond their normal limits by the increased population. She also found side “hero†work increase some as well, as the additional numbers of beings coupled with the decrease in security forces had led to an increase in criminal activity. Today the young Inghetat was making her way through the mid-morning crowd along the main pedestrian walkway through the central plaza of the orbital city. Several small buildings lined either side of the plaza, filled with various shops and food establishments. The plaza was brightly lit, a massive transparent dome set over this section of Centauri Prime, allowing abundant natural light into the section of the city from the system's star. Larger buildings loomed around the plaza, some rising up near the top of the dome. So far the day had been rather slow paced for Yukiko. She still had a few hours before she had to report for a new assignment, so she had had time to run a few errands this morning.
  12. Once the trio had come back out into the main part of the medical bay, they found Gallan and Tal'a still waiting there for them. Gallan seemed to be doing his best to remain patient, while Tal'a was studying a small holographic screen projected from a small device on her wrist. "We have no idea why they were attacked. Could be something territorial, but there have been plenty of collections in the area where they were killed, and never any issues before." Gallan replied. He paused a moment, and then added. "But in any event, we have collections to start making this afternoon. What is your plan for trying to locate and deal with this beast?"
  13. Giang glanced back at Creys, giving the other girl a return smile, appreciative of her support. "Thank you Creys, I know I can always count on the two of you. But…I am not exactly sure what there really is to do." "I mean, ever since I was taken to Hong Kong and introduced to my true father, I have never known anything about who my real mother was." The Asian teen looked back at the documents in front of her for a brief moment, before she continued. "According to this, my mother is one Murjana al-Darsah, the oldest daughter of Amir al-Darsah, otherwise known as Typhoon, the ruler of Socotran. She currently lives in Dakana, having married a Dakana nobleman."
  14. Okay Tiff, we are back to Miss Grue!
  15. It breaks free with a 48. EDIT: Actually, it won't break free, due to the -4 it suffers due to Ulysses' Improved Pin. So it just misses the grapple check.
  16. Giang could detect no sign that the Admiral was under the influence as the same water that the Atlanteans had been under, meaning he was here, if not completely, at least somewhat willingly. The Asian teen considered the man’s words, frowning slightly as he explained the purpose of this vehicle, and what it was designed to do. "You underestimated me and my friends once Admiral, and we stopped your plans then." She finally replied. "And I believe you are underestimating us once again. We can stop this thing, and we will. What’s more, you seem to regret informing this unknown individual about this weapon. With your assistance, we are sure to be able to stop it."
  17. GM Miss Grue's powerful fists struck the earth creature in its shin once more, chipping off a bit of rock and dirt, but otherwise seeming to do little to the massive creature. Underneath the glowing dome formed by Clover, Tsunami was trying to clear her head as she lay on the ground, still recovering from the powerful blast. Ignoring Miss Grue, the earth creature turned its head skyward once more, sweeping an arm upward and sending another barrage of rocks and earth into the air at the flying twins. Once again Tundra's hands glowed, and a glow formed around the earthen projectiles, but just as when the creature had attacked Tsunami, Tundra seemed unable to slow or stop the attack, and the blast struck the two twins once again. Both were knocked upward by the impacts, spinning out of control as they went, before starting to fall back towards the ground as they were dazed and disoriented. Down on the ground, the dome that Clover had formed around Tsunami flickered, then faded away. Tundra quickly reacted as she saw the twins falling, once again ripping up sections of the ground and sending it skyward to catch the two falling young women.
  18. The earth monster makes its saving throw. So.. Round Twelve 18 Tsunami (bruised, dazed, fatigued, 2 HP) 14 Earth Monster (bruised 6) 9 Clover (staggered) 9 Crimson (bruised 2) 9 Tundra (bruised) 8 Ulysses (0 HP) 7 Miss Grue (bruised 3, 2 HP) Tsunami is dazed, so she gets no action on her turn. The earth monster is going to use its targeted area cone on the twins again, with Tundra trying to counter. The earth monster once again gets a 28 on its power check, and Tundra only gets a 16. The creature gets a 20 for the attack roll, so DC 29 toughness saves for the twins. Clover gets a 23, so is bruised and dazed. Crimson gets a 18, so she is staggered and dazed. Both are knocked quite a ways up into the air. The force wall over Tsunami fades and they both start to fall again. Tundra will use her action to once again send up rocks to catch the twins.
  19. Paradigm glided along with the female Lor, not wanting to potentially damage the deck of the merchant ship by jogging on it at her greatly increased weight. As they caught up with Kharag and his escort, the Naram touched back down on the deck, but still used her flight somewhat to keep her full weight from bearing down. She gave Kharag a small nod before turning her attention to Samran-86 as the Lor officer introduced herself. "Greetings Captain. I believe we spoke previously when I first responded to your distress call. I am Paradigm, and this is one of my comrades, Kharag. It is not exactly unexpected that we would be unknown to you. Some two thousand cycles ago, we were the defenders of the Delaztri Empire. Our last battle in defense of that empire was against an attack by the Communion. At great cost, we were able to stop the Communion, and drive them away. We have only recently been awoken from suspended animation, to find the galaxy much changed, and the Communion once again sweeping through it." "The empire we once served may be long gone, and the galaxy very different than we remember, but long ago we all swore oaths to defend and aid those in need. As such, we were on our way to offer our aid to the Lor Republic against the Communion, when we received your distress call. I have bought us a temporary respite, but there are more Communion forces in route. What is the status of this vessel?"
  20. It took Foreshadow only a few moments to spot the rooftop entrance to the warehouse below. It was midway between him and the far side of the rooftop, and away from where the two guards currently were. Crouching down to better take advantage of the shadows, the costumed crime fighter started to make his way quietly across the rooftop, keeping a close eye on the two guards. But the guards continued on their path toward the far side of the roof, eventually reaching the edge and stopping for a few moments to look out at the street below. By that point, Foreshadow had already reached the door, and he took the time provided to slowly and quietly open the door and slip inside, shutting the door behind him once more. The stairway beyond was dark, but that provided not problems to Foreshadow thanks to his costume's mask. The floor vibrated slightly from the beat of music somewhere below, and the muted sound of base echoed up through the stairwell as well.
  21. The Pirate Flagship "A fair offer, to be sure." Waymaker replied with a small nod of his head. "Unfortunately it is not for me to accept, and I rather doubt Prince Dovox will be willing to either." With that, the alien stepped to the side of the hallway, as another figure rounded the corner as well. It was another Broan, about as tall as Waymaker, but far more powerfully built. This Broan was dressed in rather ornate armor, and held a large glaive like weapon in one hand. Corona immediately recognized it as Prince Dovox, which the Broan quickly confirmed as well. "I am Dovox, and you should have accepted my offer of surrender Lor!" The tusked alien cried out. "Instead, you will have to fall before the might of Sovereign!" With that, he gripped his weapon in two hands, aiming its blade at Galvanic as a powerful blast of energy streaked down the hallway to strike the Tempestian dead center.
  22. Velocity gave a small smile at Grimalkin leaned on her shoulder and mentioned being tired and sore. "Hopefully this will all be wrapped up soon, you can nap on the way back to the States." But clearly the Duke had no intention of just letting himself be carted off to jail. Velocity tensed slightly as the Duke mentioned a "blast" and then began to rumble as if power was building up inside him. As always, the yellow clad speedster reacted quickly, far quicker than most could. She snatched up Grim, shouting out as she did. "Shrink down!" In a blur of movement, Velocity was gone from the cellar, taking Grim with her as she sped up towards the library to get Robert as well.
  23. Okay, while we wait for things on the Aphelion, Sovereign arrives. He takes aim at Galvanic and fires an energy blast at her, hitting with a 22, DC 31 toughness save for Galvanic.
  24. Ah, right, been awhile since I looked at Diplomacy. Well, he can use his Diplomacy against yours, and his Diplomacy skill is +20.
  25. Waymaker gets a 37 on his Sense Motive check, so is not swayed.
