  1. You can have the HP back, as I will fiat (right now, the crew is a lot more scared of their leader than you).
  2. He is going down
  3. The Pirate Flagship Corona's voice echoes over the comm system of the ship, presumably throughout the entire pirate vessel. But the only gauge of the effectiveness available to the Lor was the lone conscious pirate remaining in the cargo hold. The pirate was a Zultasian, and made no move to lower his weapon or otherwise surrender at Corona's proclamation. "The Republic might imprison us, but Dovox is certain to kill us if we betray him." The pirate replied. Out in the hallway just outside the cargo hold, Galvanic saw two large Broan round the corner to her right. The pair immediately spotted the Tempestian, snarling as they started forward, each holding a large melee weapon in their hands.
  4. The Aphelion Moving out of the airlock and into the hallway beyond, Mechanized entered a wide, dimly lit space that seemed to run a good way along the length of the merchant vessel. To the left she saw two humanoid aliens which she took to be the crew running back toward the front of the ship. To her right were a dozen aliens of various shapes and sizes. All were humanoid, but there were ones that were clearly insectoid, a couple that appeared to be reptilian. The two that perhaps stood out the most were two hulking figures at least eight feet tall, covered in fur with large horns coming from their heads. As Mechanized fired her warning shot and demanded the pirates stand down, the vast majority of the pirates seemed unfazed by the threat, although a pair of them did seem to hesitate slightly. The two hulking pirates with horns clearly seemed unimpressed as they snarled and seemed ready to charge.
  5. So, there are about a dozen pirates to the right (of various shapes, sizes and races). The bulk of them do well against the intimidate check, but a couple will hesitate next round. Two that might be leaders also are not intimidated either. Two big pirates over eight feet tall are not at all impressed. HG, you can post for Memorial.
  6. Go ahead and make the IC post.
  7. Velocity was a bit taken aback by Grim's anger at the Duke. Of course, the speedster still had not quite had the chance to tell her friend that the Duke had not really planned on killing all her employees and customers at the bookstore. Of course, that may not have mattered all that much anyway, given all the other things the Duke had done since they had arrived here. "We came here to help you. If you had been open and honest with us, we could have found a way to help you instead of wasting all this time." Velocity shouted. But she had little time to argue with the Duke now. She needed to get Robert out of the cellar and to some help. In a blur of motion, she ran over and scoped the unconscious noble off the floor and then was gone from the room before anyone had even realized she had moved. Less than a second later, she had come to a stop in the library of the castle, setting Robert down on a sofa as she prepared to start looking for medical books.
  8. Yeah, so Seika has pretty much the same observations as Oskar does.
  9. Rav, if you make the Toughness save (or just pick up a bruise), go ahead and take an action for Corona. SG, I need to know what you want Mechanized to do, or I will move us forward later today.
  10. Yeah, plus any Int modifier and you get the +2 circumstance bonus. Just roll one though, as Medicine cannot be used untrained.
  11. The tall doctor looked over at Oskar and Seika, focusing on the tall Kah’iru for a few moments before focusing back on Oskar. "Greetings." He stated in a rather flat tone and with a small nod. "Right this way to view the remains please." Doctor Rann then led them into one of the side rooms of the main one, with Gallan and Tal'a remaining behind. The smaller room was colder than the main part of the medical lab, with five long metal tables set up along one wall. On each of the tables Oskar and Seika could make out a form underneath a white shroud. Rann moved toward the nearest table, pulling back the shroud to revel a Lor male underneath. The Lor's skin was pale, his face almost tranquil. But there were a series of deep gashes running down the front of his body. Oskar had seen plenty of similar claw wounds, though to make wounds a spread apart as these were, the claws had to be at least a good two to three times larger than a human hand. "As you can see, multiple claw wounds, each at least three to four inches deep on average. This one by the neck was what proved fatal, severing a major vein and causing massive blood lose." Doctor Rann commented. Studying the body a bit more, Oskar noted that three were no other signs of injury on it. Whatever had killed it, had not eaten any part of it. Looking at the other four bodies, two more male and two female Lor, reveled mostly similar injuries. There were injuries on one of the other males and one of the females that were a bit different, and not something that could easily be attributed to claw marks. The skin around those injuries looked as if it had been shredded in long strips four or so inches wide. Like the first body, none of the others showed any sign of after death injury.
  12. "Yes, unfortunately we do not quite have enough to go on just yet to seek a warrant to search his home or the museum." Detective Erickson replied with a small frown. "Still, we are going to be putting some surveillance on him, try to keep an eye on him" "The murder last night was about ten blocks from the museum." Lance replied. "Not too far, but still not really enough to make a direct link." He paused a moment then continued. "I also found out some information about the name on that handkerchief you found in the alley, Zeke Simmons." Lance took the computer mouse once more, and pulled up another window on the monitor that had been showing the DMV records for Bittman. This one showed a copy of a newspaper article that looked rather old to Charlie. There was a somewhat fuzzy picture of a man in his early forties and dressed in a suit next to the article. "Mr. Simmons was a businessman and self-made millionaire back in the twenties and early thirties. But he disappeared in 1933, the last day that anyone can truly say to have seen him was the day of the last Garrote murder."
  13. That will smash the door completely out into the hallway beyond. The two pirates left in the cargo area each pick one of you as a target and fire (#1 at Galv, #2 at Corona): getting a 15 and 20, That is enough to hit each of you, given Galv's all-out-attack. But the shot bounces of Galv thanks to impervious, and I need a DC 20 toughness save for Corona.
  14. Paradigm managed to fight back against the convulsions and pain caused by the blast from one of the Communion ships, having not done much to avoid that one given the other two that tried to constrict her. Clearly the first thing to do was to try to break up the coordination between the ships. The Naram flew quickly over to one of the three needle ships, positioning herself towards the far side away from the other two. Pulling her right hand backward, she slammed it down onto the side of the needle ship with tremendous force, the blow causing the silver metal to buckle some as the ship was knocked inward several feet from the force of the impact. While it was damaged, it did not appear to be so badly damaged that it was completely out of the fight.
  15. Paradigm's Power Reserve will be set to boosting her Enhanced Strength for now. Paradigm will fly up alongside one of the ships and punch it (she will try to position herself so that if she achieves knockback, the ship will crash into another ship and hopefully damage both). She gets a 28 on her punch, sooo close to a critical. So, that is at least a DC 30 toughness save for the ship. If it is considered an object so that she can add her super strength for breaking it, then it is a DC 38 toughness save.
  16. Pulling forward into the darkness, Coiled Lightning pulled up in front of a dark Volvo station wagon that was parked underneath the bridge. When the van came to a halt, there was a few moments pause which seemed to last an eternity to Charlie, before the driver's door opened on the Volvo and a man in his late forties with long grey hair climbed out. He was dressed in a long trenchcoat and what could be termed "business causal" clothes. "It is about time Slice." The man called out. "I was beginning to worry that something had gone wrong. Let's not waste any time getting things loaded up." He then started walking around toward the back of the Volvo as the popped open the rear door.
  17. Lance gave Coiled Lightning a small smile. "In fact, I have had some success in that regard." He stated as he turned his chair back around and pulled up one of the videos from the Mayfair Building incident. The video was stopped on a frame showing the disheveled man. "So, here is our guy. Nothing new here, you've already seen it." Lance then pulled up another image on one of the other monitors. It was the same man, again among a crowd of other people, but Charlie could tell it was not at the Mayfair Building, but he was not exactly where the image was from. "And here he is again." Lance said. "A little over an hour after Slice and his crew tried to steal the time capsule contents at the Mayfair Building. This time, he is in the crowd of people that had gathered here outside the precinct to try to see if there would be any news about what was in the time capsule. He hung around for about half an hour or so, before he head off to the south and we lose sight of him. That was less than an hour before someone broke in and stole the stuff out of the conference room." Some more typing and Lance used another one of the monitors to pull up what appeared to be the DMV records system, and there displayed was a picture of the same man, identified as one Avery Bittman, who resided in Freedom City. "Mr. Bittman here is the owner and curator of Bittman's Wax Museum down in the Theater District."
  18. The merchant crew are down at the bottom in initiative, and won't really contribute much. The pirates are scattered through the order, as they are a mix of the elite, average and tough pirates. Also, to give you a small orientation, the cargo pod you entered through is on the ship's port (left) side, so as you face inward in the airlock, the front of the merchant ship is to the left, the back is to the right. The pirate shuttles were towards the back of the Aphelion. SG, you can go ahead and act for Mechanized, as your fight is not directly affecting things on the pirate flagship.
  19. Paradigm gets a 29 on her Fort save.
  20. Giang studied the schematic of the ship and John's notations carefully for a few moments before giving a small nod. "Very well, sounds like an effective approach." The Asian teen then looked over to her former roommate with a small smile. "We won't need to be breaching anything, our attack will just be to come at the front of the ship, dealing with any of the sharkmen that are up on deck. With luck, this should bring out more of the sharkmen from down below, leaving John with less to deal with." "We will just need to make sure we enter the water and close as quickly as possible, to ensure the sharkmen are not ready for arrival." Giang added, as she moved over toward the edge of the coast guard vessel that was away from the captured ship.
  21. It did not take long for Detective Erickson to make his way out to meet Charlie this time, and soon the pair were making their way back to the upper floors where the detective had his desk. "Thanks for coming down when you could." Erickson stated as they walked down a hallway. "Things have been rather crazy around here since that murder. We can talk a bit more about that soon, but first I wanted you to see some of the other stuff we have come up with." The detective led the hero into a room along toward the end of the hallway, inside Charlie found several computers and monitors. Seated at them was a twenty-something man in jeans and a sweatshirt. He was of average height, with a rather thin build. "Coiled Lightning, allow me to introduce Lance Ricks, a photograph and video analyst for the FCPD. Lance, this is Coiled Lightning, the guy that helped stop the theft at the Mayfair Building." "Nice to meet you." Lance stated with a smile, extending his hand to Charlie.
  22. Okay, the two thugs will not get to act this round as they reorient themselves. So, Lucy's up! Catseye is about twice as fast as Lucy (ie Speed 3 to Lucy's Speed 2).
  23. Freddy feels his fist connect with what he guessed was Machinefist. The deep male grunt of pain confirmed the identity of the target, though Freddy could sense the gauntlet wearing biker was still up on his feet. Up on the rooftop, Catseye gave Revenant another small smile. "Well, I can't say it's been fun." She quipped, before leaping off the roof. The cat woman landed nimbly on the ground near the warehouse, and then began running off down the street, quickly covering more distance than Lucy could cover in that amount of time. Inside the warehouse, the darkness began to dissipate in tendrils of shadow. The two thugs with the clubs took a moment to reorient themselves, before focusing back on Freddy.
  24. Round Three 24 Pirate Interceptor pilots (3) (unharmed) 24 Galvanic (unharmed, 2 HP) 17 Elite Pirates 16 Average Pirates 15 Mechanized (unharmed, 2 HP) 12 Corona (unharmed, shaken, 1 HP) 12 Sovereign (unharmed) 7 Memorial (unharmed, 1 HP) 3 Tough Pirates Okay, my post included what the interceptors are doing (which is sort of nothing), so Galv is up again! Rav, things are back to normal more or less for Corona, but she still has the -2 from the shaken condition for the time being.
  25. Pirate Flagship Corona's blast sent the other pirate that had been being pulled toward the opening flying backward to slam into one of the magnetic stack of crates, the pirate clearly unconscious. Up at the breach in the cargo doors that Galvanic had made, a forcefield sprung to life, sealing the breach once more. Those inside the room could feel a slight change, as the unconscious pirate Corona had blasted dropped down to the floor plates. Through her link with the Nomad, Corona was receiving information from the vessels sensors. The rest of the pirate ships seemed unwilling to risk a short at the Lor vessel, for fear of striking their prize just beside it. Even the interceptors, as they looped back around, held their fire in the next pass, when the Lor vessel showed no signs of returning fire. The Aphelion Memorial joined Mechanized in the small airlock, just fitting in behind the Earth woman and her large battlesuit. The door to the cargo hold sealed shut behind them, and the room began to pressurize to match the inside of the vessel. Once that was done, the opposite door slide open, and the two were greeted by the sound of energy weapons firing and yells in languages that neither Memorial or Mechanized recognized or understood.
