  1. Lucy is up!
  2. Freddy closed rapidly with Machinefist, swinging one of his meaty fists at the supercriminal. But Machinefist was an experienced brawler, and saw the attack coming and was able to sidestep just in time and avoid it all together. Back where Freddy had just been, the cat woman stopped, regarding the scene for a brief moment before looking back at the remaining combatants. "Well, this is starting to look like a lost cause." She stated with a slight frown. "Sorry Machinefist, but I am cancelling our contract for the statue, given the interference of these heroes." With that, she brought up her hands and began tracing symbols in the air as she spoke a few words in some unusual language. Suddenly, a darkness fell over the entire room, preventing anyone from being able to see their hand in front of their face. The two thugs with the clubs that had been attacking Freddy both called out in surprise. "Hey, what happened to the lights?"
  3. The earth monster will turn its attention to Miss Grue and try to hit her, hitting with a 21, so DC 33 toughness save for Miss Grue! (good time to maybe use one of those hero points she had been building up!)
  4. CLOAKED SHIPS by Fox Paradigm Paradigm has another 6 pp now, so spending them as follows: 1) Add 1 rank to base Flight power (up to 7) [2 pp] 2) Add 8 ranks of Sense Motive [2 pp] 3) Add 2 feats to Super Strength (Heat Vision and Counter Punch) [2 pp] Also, adding 24 ranks of equipment, from various Veteran Awards, as noted near top of sheet.
  5. Giang watched with great concern as the massive earth creature brought its foot down on the steam powered man. The large Grue then tried to grapple with the creature, but failed to keep ahold of it, as the earth creature managed to pull itself free. The Asian teen focused back on the large earth creature, as she prepared to use her power once again. This time, she shifted her stance slightly, in order to be better prepared to try to dodge any attack that might come. Then Giang sent a blast of twisting coils of water at the earth creature. This time however, the monster turned slightly, and the blast of water glanced harmless off its side.
  6. Round Ten 18 Tsunami (unharmed, fatigued, 3 HP) 14 Earth Monster (bruised 4) 9 Clover (staggered) 9 Crimson (bruised 2) 9 Tundra (bruised) 8 Ulysses (Staggered, 1 HP) 7 Miss Grue (bruised 2, 5 HP) Tsunami will use Defensive Attack (-4 atk/+4 def) and attack the earth monster, missing with a 9.
  7. Okay, I think you are almost there YoF. But you still have prehensile feet in feats, so need to correct that. Also, you totals at the bottom of the sheet to not take into account your current total spent on powers.
  8. The earth creature manages to pull itself free with a 47.
  9. "Attention Either Ore, this the Devotion, please stand by your airlock to receive one of our members." One of the other Praetorians transmitted the merchant vessel as Paradigm and Kharag headed towards the Devotion's airlock. Paradigm let out a small sigh at Kharag's comments. "I did not actually disregard your counsel Kharag, but as you noted yourself, regardless of how likely it was that Communion forces would find this crippled vessel, we still needed to attempt to assist it." The pair stepped into the airlock and Paradigm shut the door to the rest of the ship, sealing it. She then turned towards the outer door as she pressed the button to depressurize the small chamber. All the air was quickly sucked out of the room, as the cold chill of space filled the room as well. The Naram remained calm, almost welcoming the feel of the void as she opened the outer door and grabbed ahold of Kharag, flying out into the vast emptiness of space, and quickly making her way over toward the Either Ore to drop off Kharag.
  10. Corona's transmission reached out to the various vessels in the area, the Aphelion included. Almost immediately after the transmission, the Nomad view screen activated with a responding call from the main pirate vessel. On the screen was a very large Broan, with red skin and large, white tusks and open slits for a nose. The Broan was wearing rather finely crafted armor, and its nose slits flared slightly as it snarled before replying. "I am Prince Dovox, and you Lor shall come to know me as Sovereign! I claim this expanse as part of my empire, and will do so over your corpse if necessary!" Out in space, some of the pirate ships began adjusting to the arrival of the Lor ship. Two of the interceptors turned and started firing at the Nomad. Bright lights flashed through the darkness of space, but Corona was just able to veer the Nomad to one side, as the beams streaked by into the void.
  11. Two of the pilots fire at the Nomad, both missing with a 12. Galvanic is up!
  12. The pirate leader gets a 38 on his Intimidate roll to counter Corona’s ultimatum/ intimidate roll. Round One 24 Pirate Interceptor pilots (3) (unharmed) 24 Galvanic (unharmed, 2 HP) 17 Elite Pirates 16 Average Pirates 15 Mechanized (unharmed, 2 HP) 12 Corona (unharmed, 1 HP) 12 Sovereign (unharmed) 7 Memorial (unharmed, 1 HP) 3 Tough Pirates
  13. Okay, need to remind everyone that we are trying to work on a 24 hour turn around for posts here. I will be trying to move us forward tonight. While we are at it, might as well get initiative rolls from everyone.
  14. GM "It is certainly a possibility Tiamat." Captain Thunder replied with a grim nod. "We do intend to send back information as often as possible, so that the rest of you can review it and hopefully come up with some ideas on how to prepare." Daedalus then responded to Fleur's questions about what to possibly tell the public. "If the Communion turn’s this weapon of theirs towards earth Fleur, it would certainly be visible as it draws close, seeing as the Star Knights' information on it puts it about the same size as our moon. But with it still far away, with nothing to suggest it will be headed here anytime soon. For now, it might be best to keep things quiet, in order to prevent a panic. But that will have to be something those of you remaining decide how best to deal with." The immortal inventor then turned toward Comrade Frost as the Russian spoke up again. "We really do not know enough about the Communion to do much more than guess. The act certainly will create fear in the Republic and other nearby powers, once the word spreads more. It is also possible that the decision to destroy Lor-Van is connected with the wormhole that was created. But right now we do not know enough to determine what possible connection there might be."
  15. Charlie did his best to focus back on work in order to get the rest of the day pass quicker. While it was not easy, he was able to focus on the work he had, and eventually the day came to a close as he and his co-workers went about the process of closing up the shop. With Jane busy with her book group, Charlie was able to waste little time in grabbing a quick bite of food and then changing into is costume and heading off into the city towards the Midtown precinct. This time, when he made his way into the entryway of the station, he found it a bit more crowded than it had been the other night. In addition, the officer behind the front desk looked up and seemed to recognize him, as he gave a small nod. "Coiled Lightning right? Just a moment, I'll call the detective and let him know you're here."
  16. Moving over carefully to the van, the two heroes found all the thugs inside unconscious. The van’s engine was still running, and it did not seem so smashed up that it could not still run. Examining the collection of boxes that the criminals had managed to get into the van, Charlie noted that it was an assortment of high tech mechanical and electrical components. While they certainly were expensive, it still did not quite seem like just your typical heist for cash, particularly as there had been a number of break-ins. Matt took a look at the various components as well, noting the same sorts of things Charlie had seen. While there was likely a number of possible applications for these components, looking at what was in the van, Matt was struck with the thought that they all seemed very much like what one might use in putting together some sort of advanced robotics. Opening the driver's door, Charlie climbed part way up and looked around the front of the van, the second driver still slumped unconscious in the driver's seat. For the most part, the van seemed empty of anything save the boxes they had been stealing, a few empty coffee cups from Starbase coffee, and map of the city. Picking up the map, Charlie noted a small red circle over a section of Greenbank. Off in the distance, the sounds of sirens could be heard drawing closer…
  17. Making his way back out to the van and sedan, Foreshadow found the location crawling with police and paramedics now, making it a bit hard for him to try to gather much in the way of evidence. The police were rather busy in doing that themselves, and did not seem particularly willing to allow the costumed crimefighter to start poking around the crime scene, as much as they were appreciative of his efforts in stopping what could well have been a great deal of bloodshed. The officers were also intent on obtaining a statement from Foreshadow, further preventing him from taking a look around. But the costumed hero managed to note a shell casing from one of the sub-machineguns used by the men in the van on the ground near him as he gave his statement. As he spoke, Foreshadow casually shifted one foot to cover the casing. When the officer was finished with him, the crime fighter was able to play off dropping something and scope up the casing into its own small clear plastic bag, before heading back off into the night to see what he might be able to learn.
  18. Okay, I fixed a couple of small formatting errors and corrected the amount you spent on equipment (and thus feats). APPROVED
  19. GM "I won't lie that the situation appears very grim if this thing heads towards Earth." Captain Thunder replied to Fleur's outburst. "But thus far, from what information the Star Knights have been able to gather thus far, the Communion has not used this weapon everywhere it has attacked. Most of the planets it has attacked appear to have been taken over. Although, whether that is any better or not is not clear at the moment." "Gathering more information is a high priority for the Star Knights at the moment." Pseudo added as he spoke up. "That will indeed be part of what those of us going to help will be gathering, and relaying back to the Lighthouse." "It should also be noted, that those Star Knights arrived at Lor-Van in response to the Communion attack, with little warning in advance and no information about the makeup or capabilities of the Communion forces. They were ill prepared to deal with this planet destroying weapon." Daedalus interjected. "There is no guarantee that studying whatever information the Star Knights or Lor have on it will provide any answers on how to deal with it. But it is possible." "If we are lucky, the combined forces of the Star Knights and Lor, along with some help from us, will be able to stop this Communion." Captain Thunder stated as he spoke back up. "I know it is little comfort sitting here waiting for any news, but as Gaian Knight and Tiamat have stated, there could well be plenty of homegrown problems to deal with to keep you more than busy."
  20. Okay Osprey, some comments for you. As was mentioned in chat, the title for the character should just be her heroic name, Endeavor. Also, her real name should be listed as an alternate identity, even when her identity is public. Overall, everything seems to check out crunch wise, just a few minor things to note. For feats, you need to list the 3 pp spent on Equipment in the main list (right after Dodge Focus). Makes things cleaner. As for the equipment itself there are a few things. First, per our house rules, people of average wealth or greater do not need to pay EP for cellphones or laptops. Now, if you want them to be masterwork versions, then you need to pay an additional EP for them, so if you want the laptop masterwork, it is free and you pay 1 EP for it being masterwork. There really is no benefit that can be obtained from having a masterwork cellphone, per our house rules on such communications equipment, so might as well save yourself the EP you sent on that. Now, if you want you NVGs to be masterwork, that will cost you 2 EP (1 for the base cost of the equipment and +1 for them being materwork). So, for everything you list, you will need to spend an additional EP for those things you want masterwork. I do wonder why she has a gas mask, as her suit provides her all the protection it would? What does the parachute provide? As a custom piece of equipment, you need to detail what it does, so we can determine if it is priced correctly. Is it supposed to be Flight 1 (Limited: Gilding) with the auto activation feature? If so, you need to list that (or list what you expect it to be doing). You need to make a slight formatting correction on the array within the first device. It should probably read something like Multifunctions (or some other title) 7 (14 pp array, Feats: Alternate Power 2) [16PP] Base Power: Electrical Control 7 {14/14}, ect ect
  21. Balus had been following along with Oskar and Ana during the entire trek to the shop looking rather nervous, his eyes constantly darting about as if he expected to be attacked at any moment. Now that they had reached their destination, he did not look any more at ease, although he prepared to follow Oskar into the shop. The door to the shop swung open easily enough, reveling a narrow path into the dimly lit room, which wound between piles of objects stacked up on tables and shelves, or hanging from the ceiling overhead. There was so much clutter that Oskar could not make out any of the far walls or accurately judge the size of the room. "Welcome, welcome. Old Uloc is back here." A decidedly female voice replied in heavily accented Galstandard. "Come back and we can find what you are looking for."
  22. "Possibly, if their actual parents are even here." Dee replied as she climbed out of the van. The young Englishwoman moved over slowly towards the children, a smile on her face, in part because of the antics of the two trying to hide behind each other. <"I can see that."> She replied to the comment that they had only been playing. <"My name is Dee."> As they mentioned Crocodile King, Dee recalled the men on camels that they had encountered on the road here. <"So the Crocodile King rules here? Where can we find him? In there?"> She then asked, indicating the door to the building.
  23. "We shall have to keep one conscious to ask it." Tsunami replied with a small smile, which then faded and was replaced with her more typical serious expression. "But in any event, we shall find no answers to any of our questions over here. Which means we need to get aboard that vessel." She stated, making a small nod toward the other boat. The Asian teen then turned to regard Myrmidon. "What did you have in mind?" She asked, although she had little reason to doubt whatever plan the clone hero had come up with.
  24. Round Five 24 Bloody Mess (unharmed, 5 HP) 21 Catseye (bruised) 18 Thug 1 16 Thug 2 12 Revenant (unharmed, 2 HP) 12 Machinefist (bruised 2) Mess is up!
  25. With the weight of the van hardly slowing her down, Lucy easily strode across the warehouse floor and over next to Machinefist. The biker with the large metal hands had a look of shock on his face as the undead attorney swung the vehicle he had not that long ago been riding in at him. But even with the surprise at how easily she wielded the vehicle like a baseball bat, Machinefist just managed to roll as she clipped him with the van. He let out a grunt of pain, but was then back up on his feet. The large metal gauntlet over his left hand then whirred and clicked, as the metal fingers pulled inside the housing, and two long, yellow blades extended outward from the gauntlet, providing Machinefist with a razor-sharp double edged sword. He then lunged forward, slicing the weapon at Lucy with a wild yell. The wicked looking blade made contact with the undead attorney, but her skin proved far more durable than it appeared, the blade glancing off without breaking through of otherwise appearing to harm her.
