Timeout After failing to catch the drone in a bubble of frozen time, Lawrence had shifted his powers so that his bright blue eyes went completely blue and glowed with cosmic energy, reaching out with his cosmic senses. As those senses swept the area around the group, the blond teen responded to Daniel. "Do not worry about it Daniel." After a moment, the teen's eyes returned to normal and he looked to the others. "There are three people not from this dimension down near the river, a couple of miles that direction." He pointed in the direction he had sensed the individuals. "Would seem the logical place to start investigating what is going on, and possibly where Kazra might be."

Okay, the tide is turning the good guys' way! Round Four 26 Paper 3 HP (unharmed) 25 Stormcrow 6 HP (unharmed) 19 Shadowborne 2 HP (bruised 2) 18 Ghule 2 HP (injured 2) 16 Sureshot (unharmed, bound and helpless) 16 Multi-Girl 1 HP (bruised x2) 15 Legion (unharmed x3 / one near Ghule bruised / two near Ghule bruised x2, prone / 1 near SC bruised, prone / one near SC bruised 3, prone) 13 Shift 0 HP (injured 2) 10 Visor (bruised x2) 10 Star Khan (unharmed) 10 Mindfire (unharmed, -2 toughness drain (round 3), bound and helpless) 9 Nightscale 5 HP (bruised 2) 6 Big Horn (bruised, grappled; Bound and helpless) @Spacefurry Paper is up. He is still near Big Horn, who is now bound and helpless, so, he could coup de grace him (full round action). But, there is also an unharmed Legion duplicate on Shadowborne, or Visor and another unharmed Legion duplicate near him; there are six others, four still prone, one on Ghule/Multi-Girl and one on Stormcrow.
-
GM As Nightscale took to the air once more and snatched up Mindfire in one of his claws, Big Horn struggled against the snake-like arms that were wrapped around him. Although the armored villain was very large and strong, Shift planted her feet in place and managed to continue to hold him firmly in her grip. The tide of the fight certainly seemed to be turning the Young Guardians' way, with three of their opponents, including the muscle, all restrained and helpless and most of the Legion duplicates still recovering from Multi-Girl’s counterattack…

@Spacefurry The Mecha is not that much bigger than a person (like 7.5 feet tall). The Hunter gets a 11 on its toughness save, which will KO it!

Multi-Girl Bernadette was quiet as Ryan talked a bit about his background, revealing that he was an orphan. "I'm sorry." She said, giving him a sincere and sympathetic smile. "It is not really all that uncommon here. One o' my best friends that graduated last year is an orphan. It seems your class has several as well. But I'm shoor not all have the exact same experience." The redhead added. "But again, this is the time ta start tryin' things outside yer comfort zone. You never know which o' the connections you make here will be the most impactful, or long lastin'."

Multi-Girl Bernadette and her duplicate glance around a moment, the misty forest had gone quiet after Neko had driven off the last of the Tengu. "Doesn' seem like much ta do but press on." The redhead stated, nodding in the direction of the path that led further into the grounds around the fortress. The group of teens began moving along the path once more, the stealthier members taking the lead to scout ahead, while Bernadette's duplicate remained behind with the others, so they had a means of communicating between the two groups. This allowed them to coordinate reaching the next inner wall along a side away from the main gate and when no guards were nearby walking along the wall. Working together and concealed within Neko's illusions, the group managed to get over the wall and into a large area of gardens beyond. Again, the group managed to avoid small patrols of soldiers that were actively patrolling the gardens, apparently alerted to the previous encounters with the teens. Eventually they had reached the base of the tall castle that had been identified as their goal, along one of the side walls and away from the guarded main entrance. Looking up at the tall stone wall that eventually gave way to the intricate wooden castle, Bernadette looked back at the others. "Well, unless we want ta just force our way in through the front, might be a better idea ta get up there somehow an' enter on one o' the upper levels?"

Multi-Girl Bernadette looked at the Star of David Vik pulled out and quietly listened to her thoughts, giving her a small smile. "Thank you fer sharin' that. You may be right, I certainly hope you are. All I can really do is keep goin' with the faith that it will all be considered in the end." When Charlie suddenly spoke up from the door, the redhead just gave a small grin, not showing any signs of being surprised by his sudden appearance. Glancing up at him as he came over to take her hand, Bernadette gave a light squeeze in return. "I'm doin' okay. Figured spendin' all mornin' in bed was more than enough." She replied. The Irish teen then considered what he had to say about her being a martyr. "I'm certainly no expert either, but not shoor it quite works that way. I believe that my duplicate would have needed ta be killed out o' hatred o' my faith. An' I think there is somethin' about willin' acceptance o' that sufferin'." She responded.

Multi-Girl Bernadette and her duplicate were mostly quiet as the group made its way deeper into the caves looking for Carmen. When Dr. Macedon mentioned the possibility that the Mesa needed them for something the redhead frowned slightly. "Bloody fantastic." Her duplicate muttered with a sarcastic tone as she walked at the back of the group, making sure everyone stayed together. Soon enough, they walked out of the cave and suddenly into a rather familiar-looking park, with a completely unfamiliar futuristic skyline. "Great, more time travel." The Irish teen stated as she looked up at the skyline before focusing back on Baz and Vueriz. "Stay together fer now, least till we get a better idea why we might be here." She stated to the two teens. "So, Doctor, any tips on how ta figure out why we might have been brought here?" She then asked their guide.

No, any area effect requiring a saving throw needs the Selective Extra (so Damage and other save powers, such as Snare, Paralyze, Stun, etc, have to have the Extra when an area effect). Anything that does not have a save uses the feat. So, Healing with an Area Effect only needs the Feat to allow you to choose who in the area you heal.

Multi-Girl Bernadette chuckled slightly at Thomas' comment about things being a little rough growing up with two older brothers. "It could get a wee bit rough at times, but I think it helped encourage an assertive streak an' ta stand up fer myself." The redhead replied with a grin. "I think that environment comes through in tha fisty, upbeat spirt in a lot o' our music, particularly the original songs we are workin' on." The Irish teen paused a moment as she reached down to take something out of her backpack that was on the ground beside her chair. "By the way, I have somethin' from the band we wanted you ta have." She said as she held out a thick magazine to Thomas. The cover was in Japanese, and featured a picture of Bernadette and the rest of the band on it. "Last month after our show at the Midnight Hour, we went ta Tokyo fer a show. While there we were interviewed by a Japanese teen magazine an' had a photo shoot. So, this is a copy o' our first magazine cover, which just came out in Japan." She said with a wide smile. If Bernadette was bothered by Thomas seeming a bit unprofessional, she showed no sign of it as the redhead turned back to his other questions about her start in music. "Well, I would say I certainly had a natural talent, but even then it has been somethin' I have continued ta work at. I have been very fortunate in the opportunities my parents have worked very hard ta provide, an' gettin' a scholarship ta transfer down here ta a private school." When he asked her about musical instruments, she chuckled slightly. "Does snapin' my fingers count? Really, I have never tried ta learn an instrument. I have always naturally gravitated toward bein’ part o' a team, focusin' on my strengths an' relyin' on others ta cover other areas that are their strengths. So, bein' part o' a band where Summer, John an’ Mark are key part o' things just feels more natural than ever tryin' ta be a solo performer or do more than focus on singin'."

Mindfire gets a 15 on her toughness save. Will give you the HP back and reroll, and she gets a 30 She gets a 17 against the Drain, so loses 2 toughness. But she has no hope of beating that grapple, so is bound and helpless.

Paradigm Justicar Har'al climbed back to his feet and quickly looked over the battlefield. The Zultasian then flew over to where Paradigm was facing off with the other Justicar and one of the Borans, ready to join in trying to take down the Praetorian leader. Even in the middle of the intense melee, Paradigm heard Michael call out to try and encourage the gathered heroes. The Naram could not help but have a faint smile at the young man's courage and determination, similar to what she had seen from other Claremont students she had met before. While she might well be one of the strongest beings in the universe, the presence of the Delaztri crystal had sapped much of that. But that did not mean she was helpless or otherwise could not do more to turn the tide of this battle. Focusing on the Justicar in front of her, Paradigm launched a right hook, putting all she could muster behind the attack. WHAM the blow struck the Justicar with tremendous force, knocking him off his feet and a short distance away, injured and dazed for the moment. A little way from Paradigm, Star Khan also heard Michael's words and knew that they were true, as long as Dovox had the Delzatri crystal, Paradigm was not at full strength and was slowly dying. The young Zultasian snarled at Dovox, lunging once more towards the larger Boran. This time he managed to grab the hand holding the crystal. Although Dovox tried to maintain his grasp on the crystal, Star Khan managed to wrench it free from him. Taking a step back from the Boran, Kinarr looked over at him. "You misinterpret my intentions. I am not looking for a mere consort. I want someone who will rule alongside me, someone in every way my equal or more, who will make me always strive to be better." And with that, the young Star Khan crushed the crystal in his armored gauntlet. To one side of the abandoned parking lot, the Boran that had been attacking Michael moved after the teen, swinging its large axe as it closed with him. However this time, the Claremont student was just able to shift to one side, causing the weapon to miss as it struck the pavement, sending pieces flying in several directions. Over a short distance from Predator, the other Boran managed to regain his senses, as he looked over to the armored heroine with a snarl.

Justicar Har’al will climb up to his feet, he will then move over to melee with Paradigm as well. Paradigm will power attack (-3/+3) and try to hit Justicar Wryy: hitting with a 25. DC 29 toughness save: 22, so bruised and dazed (and knocked back five feet). Star Khan will again try to grab the crystal: just hitting with a 25. He gets a 31 on the strength check Sovereign gets a 22. Star Khan will then surge and crush the crystal. The Boran Lt will stay after Golden Star, missing with a 16. The other will clear its daze. @Spacefurry Predator is up! (Don't for get the +3 for Golden Star's Inspire!)

Timeout Gamma Buzz unleashes his atomic breath, sweeping it into the sky to catch the group he and Blue Bolt had mostly dazzled. However, the small insects were incredibly agile, with just over half of them managing to avoid the cone of radiation completely. Of those hit, only two were burned and dropped to the grown blackened husks. And the insects began swarming…. The two that had survived Rot's attack were joined by three others that had just been released from a newly landed needle fighter. The five small drones swarmed around her, hacking and slashing at Rot with their front scythe like claws. Three managed to land hits on the teen, two of them multiple quick strikes. Several of the group blinded by Gamma Buzz and Blue Bolt recovered from the effects and soon each of the teens had three of the drones attacking them. However each managed to avoid most of the attacks, each only being hit once by the slashing claws of a drone. Spaceman and Golden Star similarly had three of the drones attack, the two that survived Spaceman’s attack joined by four new ones. Spaceman managed to avoid all but one of his attackers, while Golden Star was struck by two. Six of the newly arrived insect drone sped across the park towards where Timeout, Torpedo Lass and Sever were gathered, splitting into three even groups to attack the teens. Both Torpedo Lass and Sever felt the sting of the slashing blades of the drones. The first of the drones sped towards Timeout, unleashing a flurry of attacks that seemed like they were about to hit the blond teen, but then, at the last moment, he was gone in a temporal blur, reappearing just a few feet away, but far enough to cause the attacks to miss. As the second came at him, Timeout flung himself to the side, rolling across the grass as he dodged the second attacker. Coming back up to his feet, Timeout took a brief moment to glance around at all the Communion drones closing in on them. He then glanced back over towards Torpoedo Lass. “If this was just about getting me, why all of this? Why go to all this trouble? The entity has already shown it can separate us from our stuff and from the others. If it wanted me, it could have just taken me alone.” He then moved over near Sever in a blur of motion, the teen raised both hands as he released an all too familiar burst of temporal energy, which radiated in all directions. As was normally the case, the energy wrapped harmlessly around his friends and other allies, but slammed into all the drones within two hundred and fifty feet of him. Of the six insect drones attacking him, Torpedo Lass and Sever, all but one of the ones on Torpedo Lass dropped out of the air as they were stunned unconscious. Over near Gamma Buzz and Blue Bolt, three of the six attacking them were similar knocked out. Within the area of Timeout’s burst, there were twenty six of the humanoid drones, half of them collapsing under the effects of the temporal attack. One of the ones near Sever remained on its feet, as did another five within thirty feet of Timeout and Torpedo Lass. Lowering his arms, Timeout then moved back closer to Torpedo Lass as he looked out at the park and called out. "Where are you? Show yourself!" For a brief moment, it seemed as if nothing would happen, but then a figure appeared about twenty feet in front of Lawrence. The tall figure was hovering just above the grass of the park, completely concealed beneath a tattered hooded black robe. No face was visible within the hood of the robe, only a shadowy darkness. "I have always been here Lawrence Harrow." It replied in a cold, hollow voice. For most of those gathered nearby, it spoke in English. But Gamma Buzz heard its words in Spanish, while Blue Bolt heard them in Zirtimzaran. "Are you ready to join me so that together we can bring an end to Collapse?" Lawrence regarded the figure for a moment before asking, "where are the others? The ones you did not bring to this timeline?" "They are currently experiencing another Armageddon." The figure replied, slowing raising one arm as an imaged appeared in the air beside it. The image showed ruined city streets and building, with Bernadete, Carmen and several of the others fighting what appeared to be Omegadrones among the ruins. "They are experiencing the Terminus Invasion from the end of the last century, only in that version of the event, there is no Centurion coming to stop the Lord of the Terminus. Regardless of how valiantly your friends fight, when Omega enters the city, that world will be destroyed, and your friends will die. You can save them, along with your friends here. All you have to do is surrender and join me." "How do I know you will actually free my friends even if I did? We can find a way to stop this invasion, weaken the barrier you have around us and get to the others so we can all escape." Lawernce responded. The robed figure remained impassive, its black robes billowing slightly despite the general lack of wind. "Perhaps. But can you do so before any of your friends are slain? You have not yet met my champion." As the figure spoke a silvery figure emerged from one of the spaceships in the sky above, flying down towards the city at incredible speed. As it approached the City Center, the figure veered towards Captain Thunder, slamming into the Freedom League member and sending both of them plummeting to the ground. The pair crashed down into the very center of the park, sending a small tremor through the ground and sending dirt and bits of concrete paths flying in all directions. As the dust and debris that had filled the air cleared, a twenty foot wide crater could be seen, Captain Thunder laying still at the bottom of it. Hovering over him was a humanoid female figure, a little under six feet tall with a lithe build. The figure appeared to be wearing a full body costume with a long billowing cape and had long hair. However, like the other Communion drones, the figure, its clothes and cape, were all coated with silvery Computronium. Lawrence took a couple steps back, a look of shock clearly on his face as he looked at the hovering figure. "Paradigm? Oh #@&%!"

Okay, swarming insect time: The two that survived Rot's attack are joined by three more that were just dropped off by a needle fighter and will power attack (-2atk/+3 dam): 13, 10, 17, 23 and 9 So one normal hit, anther with +2 due to autofire, the third +3 due to autofire. So Rot has a DC 19, a DC 23 and a DC 24 toughness save to make (in that order): @Huckleberry Near Gamma/Blue Bolt: Fort saves for 8 vs the Dazzles (DC 18): Four recover Along with the non-dazzled ones, three go for Gamma: 13, 19, 11 so one hit DC 19 toughness save @Supercape Three go after Blue Bolt: 14, 9 and 23, so one hit at +2 dam, so a DC 21 toughness save @Kaede Kimura The two by Spaceman and Golden Star are joined by four more, three go after Spaceman: 12, 20 and 11, one hit at +2 dam, so DC 21 toughness save @RocketLord Three go after Golden Star: 23, 20 and 13, two hits one at +2 dam, the other at +1, so a DC 21 and a DC 20 toughness save, in that order @Poncho Two go after Torpedo Lass: 19 and 9, one hit at +1 dam (so DC 20 toughness save, or you can spend a HP to double your Dodge Bonus for the rest of the round and cause it to miss) @The Sailor Two go after Timeout: 28 and 22, both hit: miss chances: 16 and 2, first attack misses, Timeout will spend a HP to double his Dodge Bonus and cause the second hit to miss. Two go after Sever: 25 and 13 so one hit at +2 dam, so a DC 21 toughness save @Thunder King For his turn, Timeout will move near Sever so he can catch the max number of drones in his Stun AOE. Will accurate attack -1dam/+1 attack and Take 10. Hits 12 insect drones (all the ones attacking him, TL2, Sever, Baz and Blue Bolt): DC 19 Will saves: only 4 make their saves (1 near TL2, 2 on Baz and 1 on Blue Bolt) There are 26 of the humanoid drones in the area: half actually make their saves Lawrence is then going to do some talking that I will address in an IC post before coming back to here.
-
Okay, you can catch the group of 12 you and Blue Bolt just dazzled. First the Reflex save (DC 18): 7 of them make the save and thus completely avoid the AOE with Evasion. The other 5 have a DC 23 Fort saves: 2 make it so Gamma takes out 3 of them total.
-
That hits, but it makes its toughness save with a 25.

GM When Galvanic hit the prow of the cruiser with her makeshift bat, the massive vessel did not just make a slow start to its turn, but instead quickly shifted a full 30-45 degrees to one side from the powerful impact. The result was everyone aboard (that was not flying or otherwise not directly relying on standing on the deck of the vessel) were jolted to the side and had to struggle to remain standing. Velocity was caught off guard and fell to the ground, as did Justicar Vor'an. The few free opponents in the hanger similarly were throw off balance and to the ground. Down in the engine room, the snake like alien fighting Ghost and Patriot II also lost its balance, ending up on the ground as did all the armed guards in the room. Up in the hallway near the bridge, Tal'gar and the two Boran standing guard outside the bridge similarly were pitched over and knocked to the ground. A moment after he fell, Justicar Vor'an climbed back to his feet, swinging his energy staff through the air to bring down on the Boran that had tried to attack Artificer. The powered weapon knocked the larger alien out, as the Justicar stepped back and looked about the hanger for any remaining threats.

Actually, looking at the rule for Trip again, I think YOU actually get +4 bonus for each size category the target is above medium (human) size. So you had +12 to your roll! (for a 29). It still just beats you with a 30 on its Strength check, so it almost worked!
