Lucy stepped up and swung the van once more at the last of the robed figures on their feet. The man tried to dodge the seemingly unwieldy club, but Lucy's strength made moving the heavy makeshift weapon easier than it would seem. The van slammed into the man, sending him flying backward to slam into a column that helped support the roof, and he crumpled to the ground unconscious. Machinefist was back on his feet, and focused his attention on Lucy as she cleared out the last of the robed figures. "That is one tough broad!" He commented, one of his large metal hands transforming slightly to resemble a wide barrel of some sort of gun. He leveled the hand towards Lucy, and fired off an blast of yellow energy at the undead lawyer. But his head was still not completely clear from the hit Mess had delivered earlier, and the blast went well wide of Lucy, blasting a hole in the side of the warehouse.

GM With Zandar and the Claremont students taking the lead, the now much larger group started off once more after the tracks that led deeper and deeper into the jungle. The Roman legionnaires kept a steady, disciplined pace behind them, with Tribune Septimius riding alongside on his large velociraptor. The going was not easy, but there were at least somewhat regular stops, as the Jungle Lord had to stop and search for the tracks, which he admitted were not always easy to find. "I believe there is one among this group that is skilled at concealing his or her tracks, and is also trying to help obscure the other tracks as well." Zandar stated at one stop, as he knelt down to indicate some tracks he had managed to find. "I have identified at least four individuals in the group, three males, one female. That likely means a group of about five." He stated, standing back up and starting off once more. After about an hour, the terrain had changed considerably, the jungle seeming to close in some, as they began moving down a slope. To their right, there was a series of cliffs and steep hills/low mountains, just visible through the trees. To their left, the river ran below them, the current much fast now, as it had narrowed, with more cliffs/low hills along the river's left bank. As the group stopped to take a small water break, Zandar moved over towards the hot and tired Claremont students. "We have now entered the valley I mentions earlier. Further down this way are ancient ruins I mentioned earlier."

"What??" Exclaimed the surprised police officer as Foreshadow seemed to appear out of nowhere and send a gang member sprawling onto the pavement of the alleyway. And then, just as quickly as he had appeared, Foreshadow was gone, using his grappling hook to withdraw back into the shadows and up to the rooftops. It was only about a dozen seconds later and he was back at the fire escape where he had left he unconscious sniper. Foreshadow's mask told him what he would find even before he had arrived. The sniper was gone, someone having cut the bindings that had held the man. The sniper rifle he had been using was gone as well.

"It's probably not." Jane replied in agreement to Charlie's comments about how this recent murder was likely not the work of the original Garrote. "But, it does seem a bit odd that some copycat has decided to start acting now, when there was all this recent news and stuff about those old murders." When Charlie mentioned not going to any shows for awhile, Jane gave a small frown, but it was a bit of a joking one, as she then became more serious and gave a small nod. "Yeah, might be best to be careful until the police are able to round up whoever is behind this. Anyway, I have my book group tonight, remember?"

Slice rolled away from Coiled Lightning's most recent attack, quickly getting back up to his feet. "Oh, just a bit of midnight shopping." The costumed criminal replied, although he seemed rather annoyed with his inability to hit the crimefighter, but once again leveled his weapon at Coiled Lightning and fired. And once again Coiled Lightning had dodged at just the right time and the blast went wide and shot across the street to blow a small chunk of concrete out of a wall. "This is getting ridiculous, we need to get out of there. You two, get the stuff in the van and get it started." He shouted to the two thugs with the pistols. Meanwhile the large thug easily shook off another attack from Liquify, before he strode over toward the watery hero. He swung a large fist at Liquify, but the hero managed to bend back out of the path of the attack, standing back up straight once the large thug had pulled his fist back. The two men with the pistols saw how ineffective their weapons had been on Liquify, and decided it was best to do what Slice said. One ran over towards the driver’s door of the van, opening it and pushing the unconscious driver out of the way. The other meanwhile grabbed his hand cart and moved it over to the open back of the van.

Okay, Slice takes another shot at Coiled Lightning, and he misses again with a 12. The big thug moves over and tries to punch Liquify, he also misses with a 12. This takes us to, Round Five (I skipped putting up four) 16 Thugs 12 Coiled Lightning (unharmed, 1 HP) 7 Liquify (unharmed, 1 HP) 6 Slice (unharmed) 2 Big Thug (bruised) One of the thugs will get his hand cart moving toward the back of the van again, the other will run over toward the driver’s seat of the van. Coiled Lightning is up!

Amara was relieved Kharag regained some composure, along with a few other of the survivors who had awoken rather ready to resume the battle with the Curator which had been the last thing any of them recalled before their sleep. The young Naram followed along as VINCE led her and the other Praetorians up to another room, where there was a holographic map of the universe awaited them. Moving to stand along one side of the table, Amara looked up at the large holographic map, listening to VINCE's explanations of what was known thus far about the Communion’s actions. But at the same time, she noted how the map seemed…off. Sitrara asked the question that Amara was half afraid to learn the answer of, but then several of the others made comments, and she decided to speak briefly to those before pressing VINCE for some answers. "No Moon-Moth, we do not want to waste time, but at the same time, we do not want to rush out there without knowing more about what is going on." She began, before focusing back on the areas the Communion had struck. "And I am not so sure the Lor are as helpless as they may seem Dragonid." She began. "Look at how the Communion has advanced in into the Grue Unity and this Stellar Khanate, it is like a wave sweeping onto a beach, methodical conquest of system after system in order, much like their assault on the Empire that we responded to. But with the Lor, they struck deep into their territory, straight at their capital world. It could well be the majority of the Lor's military forces are still intact, and if they can be rallied, could be helpful in turning back the Communion." "But Traveller is right. The Delaztri Empire should be here." She then stated, pointing up at where one of the edges of the empire should have been. "But there is nothing noting their presence." Amara then turned back toward VINCE. "What has happened to the Delaztri Empire, and, just how long have we been in suspended animation?"

Well, you could start the post off Cape, with trying to direct the group in one direction then spotting the pickpocket trying to lift something from Balus, then Heri can post Ana realizing Oskar is trying to take them down the wrong street.

Amara watched as her fellow Preatorians began to awaken. As would be expected, Kharag awoke with cries of defiance, not too dissimilar than her own awakening (although without the long term threats). But now was not the time to allow him to start tearing things up, luckily Sitara spoke up to try to bring him back under control. "I am well Myoth." The Naram replied to Moon-Moth a she took a few steps forward. "Any vengeance will have to wait Kharag." She then stated firmly. "We have more pressing issues before us. The Communion have returned."

Well, between the two of you, you have both things covered So, Oskar is trying to lead the group down a wrong street (but in the right general direction) and Ana realizes this. Oskar will also spot someone trying to pickpocket Balus. So go ahead and rp this out!

Giang Trang stood on the deck of the Japanese Coast Guard patrol ship next to Myrmidon, looking out across the waters as the scientific vessel that had been taken over by the strange shark men the scientists had encountered under the waves. The Asian teen was wearing the costume she wore as Tsunami, given that was whom the Japanese authorities had sought assistance from. Although she was giving the other vessel, and the surrounding waters, a great deal of attention, in the back of her mind Giang did have some concerns about being this close to Hong Kong. In the two years since Raven had found her and taken her out of Singapore, this was the closest Giang had come to the city from which her father oversaw his criminal empire, or more specifically, the portion of Dr. Sin’s criminal empire her father was entrusted with. "Has there been any further communication?" Giang asked one of the Japanese officers that was nearby.

Amara could not help but smile at Sinatra's somewhat theatrical gesture and comments about the wonders of the universe. "I have had a chance to see some of the wonders there are among the stars, but I certainly welcome the opportunity to encounter more." She replied, remembering the first time she had gone out into the depths of space under her own power, as part of the testing of the powers she had received from the enhancement process. The young Naram then looked over at another of the new Praetorians who was moving toward them through the crowds. He was a tall, hairless humanoid with hardened, callous greenish-blue skin, dressed in clothes of mainly leather, bone and chitin. "Greetings." She stated to the other new Praetorian. "I am Amara Val-Ren, also known as Paradigm, this is Sinatra, or the Traveller."

Velocity easily sidestepped the lightning bolt, her gaze still fixed on the electrified form of the Duke that had arisen out of the sarcophagus. She was really tired of the Duke and his games, especially now that Robert was hurt. "Please, you still are nothing but a spark plug. Suit yourself, for this is likely going to hurt." She replied as her hands became a blur as the reached for her belt. In the blink of an eye, she had drawn out a small handful of steel ball bearings, which she then threw at the Duke in rapid succession. *CRACK* *CRACK* *CRACK* Multiple miniature sonic booms echoed in the cellar, as the projectiles broke the sound barrier. Three of the supersonic missile weapons struck the Duke squarely in the chest. The impact of the projectiles was enough to knock him over, clearly rattling him. Velocity meanwhile had moved over next to Robert, easily avoiding the sparking power cables scattered about the floor of the room.

Thevshi replied to Brown Dynamite's topic in Rivers, Lakes and Oceans
Okay, to start out, Tsunami will just use the move action (DC 10) to move the chariot down the track twice as fast as normal. She just makes it with a 10 on her ride check.- 53 replies

Continuing from >here. Amara Val-Ren had followed after Vince as the hologram led her from the room in which she had been awoken and into the vast chamber beyond, where seemingly endless rows upon rows of cryogenic tubes were stored in the cold air of the room. The cold no longer was bothering the Naram, as she moved over towards the nearest row of tubes, around which lights had just activated and the faint forms of her friends and comrades could be seen behind the frost on the tubes. She carefully counted the tubes as Vince moved over to a nearby control panel and began the awaking process for the other Praetorians. Just about two dozen tubes, the number of survivors she remembered from after their final battle with the Communion. And yet now they were being awoken to face the Communion once again. Amara stepped back from the tubes as she waited for the others to begin to wake. "We will want to see all information you and the Curator have regarding the Communion's advances. As well as that on any power groups that are there to oppose it."

Well, a +5 Aura would be DC 20 toughness save. But, the Rapid Attack Velocity used is actually a ranged attack (throwing steel ball bearings at supersonic speeds), so she doesn't actually touch him.

"I see your aim is still about the same." Slice commented as he dodged another attack from Coiled Lightning. The costumed criminal then fired his pistol at the hero again, the energy beam just missing this time. The large thug took a half step backward at the impact from Liquify's powerful attack. He remained on his feet, but was clearly dazed. As the watery hero back off again, the two other masked thugs opened fire once more. This time one managed to hit Liquify, but the bullet glanced harmlessly off.

Okay, Slice will fire at Coiled again, just missing with a 16. The big guy is dazed and gets no action, the two other thugs shoot at Liquify again, one misses, one hits with 14 and 21. The bullet bounces harmlessly off Liquify thanks to his impervious.

Charlie was able to get up in time to make it to work the following morning, his soreness from the day before having mostly faded. Once at work, the events of the night before faded somewhat into the back of his mind as he settled into the routine of work. The day passed rather quickly, despite the nagging feelings in the back of his mind about the theft of the contents of the time capsule. When he was able to sneak some time and check the email he used as Coiled Lightning, he was disappointed to find nothing new from Detective Erickson. That night he and Jane went out for dinner, and still there was nothing from the police. Spending time relaxing with Jane at home, Charlie did his best to keep the thoughts of the case from his mind. The next morning he was back at work when Jane handed him a copy of the Daily Herald. "Hey, did you see this?" Murder Shocks The Theater District by Scott Lewis Late last night, the police found the body of a homeless man in an alley in the Theater District. The cause of death is at this time unknown, but witnesses have reported that the man was found with pennies set over his eyes. Many of my readers might recognize that the Garrote killer would leave pennies on the eyes of his victims back in the early 30’s. The police currently have no comment on this apparent copycat killing, but the fact remains that many believe objects tied to the Garrote were within the time capsule unearthed at the Mayfair Building Wednesday evening. As I reported yesterday, only the timely intervention of the hero Coiled Lightning prevented a costumed criminal from stealing the capsule's contents, but it now turns out that the contents were ultimately stolen right from under the police department’s noses that same night. How all of this might connect to this recent murder is unknown. But certainly the community in the Theater District are on edge because of the killing.
