  1. The robed figure before Freddy seemed to stiffen slightly as the pugilist detective reached out and began thinning out the man's red blood cells. He then dropped down onto his knees, clearly struggling to remain conscious, before falling over to the ground, out cold. The two shades that he had summoned each let out a brief howl, and then faded away as if they had never been there. "That's not good." Commented the cat-woman, as she once again slashed Freddy with her claws. As before, the skilled fighter managed to flinch away from the biting claws, meaning they barely even broke the skin. The two thugs that had followed after Freddy both landed hits with their clubs, but the tough fighter just took them with little sign that he had even been hit. The remaining man in robes sent another mystical blast at Lucy, but once again missed the undead attorney.
  2. The DC I listed included your immunity, but, a moot point as you made all the rolls anyway. Lucy is up (I will be making my IC post in a bit)
  3. Synapse gets a 17 for initiative.
  4. "Oh bloody..." Dee began to mutter to herself at Singh's reaction to her announcement of what she had discovered, and the reaction of those in the room to him. The Englishwoman had half hoped they could have gotten the information they were after and then slipped away from the opium den without any of the Thugee really being the wiser. She realized that had been a very foolish hope. At Ulysses' question, she responded back in a low voice. "While I am usually for avoiding unnecessary conflicts, leaving this lot free to pursue us as we move forward would be a rather bad idea." With that, she focused her gaze back on the priest, preparing to launch a mental blast at the man in the hopes of quickly incapacitating him.
  5. Okay, Catseye attacks Freddy again, hitting with a 22, another DC 23 toughness save for Mess. Thug 1 attacks again, hitting Mess with a 26, DC 18 toughness save for Mess. Acolyte 2 fires a mystical blast at Lucy, missing with a 16. Thug 2 attacks Mess as well, hitting with a 25, another DC 18 toughness save for Mess.
  6. Round One 16 Thugs 12 Coiled Lightning (unharmed, 1 HP) 7 Liquify (unharmed, 1 HP) 6 Slice (unharmed) 2 Big Thug (unharmed) Okay, for simplicity's sake, each of you are coming at things from a different direction, and won't really notice each other until the first of you closes in with the thugs. It is a move action for either of you to get to the loading dock (Coiled by swinging, Liquify by running). The Thugs have "acted" already in the first round, so Coiled Lightning is up! (Slice and the big thug are not in view, at the moment)
  7. Both heroes moved towards the sounds as quickly as they could. The building in question turned out to be about two blocks away from where Coiled Lightning had been keeping a watch on things, about just about a block down from the alley Liquify had transformed in. At the back of the building, a grey van was pulled up at the otherwise empty loading dock. There were a couple of men standing up on the loading dock dressed in black clothes and ski masks. Each was holding a pistol in one hand. Lying on the loading dock was a security guard, although from this distance it was impossible to tell what condition the man was in.
  8. Cape, I have to sort of question the sudden appearance of penalties due to the bad shape of the van. When I made Synapse's Craft:Mechanical check to examine the vehicles, she did get a 34. If you had mentioned the van was in such bad shape, she probably would have opted for the jeep and then tried to undo the tampering.
  9. "On my way." General Tolann replied curtly over the intercom. While the general was making his way up to the Xeno's cockpit, Oskar received hails from the surface and was soon following a flight path down to the city in the darkness. General Tolann entered the cockpit, his immaculate uniform still on. His white eyes regarded the view outside the cockpit for a brief moment before focusing back on Oskar. "The purpose for our stop here captain is for me to purchase an object from a vendor named Fariar Uloc. Unfortunately, there are some unsavory elements on Nocturis, which would come after me were I to venture out into the city. Therefore I need you and your engineer to accompany Balus in going to acquire the object."
  10. Well, IC is the primary dice roller we use here, but occasionally it goes down, so some people use orokos.
  11. The Keeper only gets a 7 on his Fort save (not his strong point). I believe that results in him going unconscious?
  12. Amara's yellow eyes widened slightly at Sitrara's comments about how long she had lived. "That is indeed a long time." She replied. Her older brother then interjected before she could respond to Sitrara's question. "The Praetorians do not have standing sub-units. Mission teams are selected on a case-by-case basis, which provides for more opportunity to work with a wide range of other members. That said, for the first several months, we do tend to have the newer members working together under the guidance and supervision of a few senior members." Darr then looked back at his younger sister, giving her a small smile. "I should go and congratulate the others, we will talk more later." He gave Sitrara a small nod and smile, and then moved off back into the crowd. The young Naram looked back at Sitrara, giving the woman a small smile as well. "Well, it would seem we will be working together a good bit. I look forward to learning from you, I would imagine with so much experience, there is much you can teach."
  13. Okay, it is going to take at least a round or two for each of you to move over to investigate the sounds, so go ahead and make a post with your reactions and moving towards the scene. Might as well get to initiative rolls now though.
  14. The two separate crimefighters began to settle in to keep watch over the area in the hopes of spotting the criminals responsible for the recent break-ins. So far things were looking normal, the streets and the nearby buildings quiet. After a little while, both heroes were starting to consider whether they should move to another part of the North End, when the stillness of the night was broken by the echo of a gunshot. The sound came from a block or more away to the east, towards another of the tech companies located in the neighborhood. Almost immediately after the gunshot, there was another sound that echoed through the night, sort of a "ZAP" like sound. Charlie recognized it as the sound Slice's energy pistol made when fired...
  15. That certainly hits, the creature just misses its toughness save with a 25, so picks up another bruise. Miss Grue is up!
  16. Round Three 24 Bloody Mess (unharmed, 5 HP) 21 Catseye (unharmed) 18 Thug 1 17 Acolyte 2 16 Thug 2 14 Shade 1 12 Revenant (unharmed, 1 HP) 12 Shade 2 12 Machinefist (bruised) 8 Keeper Freddy is up!
  17. Stepping toward the nearest acolyte, Lucy swung the van as a club, managing to hit the robed man squarely and knock him completely off his feet. The impact sent the man flying backward a good fifteen feet, where he smashed into a pile of empty crates, breaking several and sending the others crashing down around him. The man slumped into the pile of debris, unconscious. Over near Freddy, the leader of the robed men stepped backward, a glowing forcefield around him having taken the brunt of the stocky pugilist's attack. The man's hands continued to glow with dark green mystical energy as he continued to chant. Once again, a dark shadowy figure rose up from the ground in front of him, letting out another piercing wail as it focused its white eyes on Freddy.
  18. Well, they are too spaced out for you to be able to attack both this round, even with the extended reach of the van. So you hit Acolyte 1, and he misses his saving throw with a 15, so he is out! The Keeper summons up another shade!
  19. Ulysses is up!
  20. GM The massive earth creature let out another rumbling roar, as it strained against the glowing yellow energy which was restraining it. The energy cracked for a brief moment, then shattered completely as the creature broke free from the bindings with seemingly minimal effort. It then took a few lumbering steps as it climbed up out of the hole Tundra had torn in the top of the cavern, putting it fully up on the surface with the others. Up in the air Clover watched as the creature broke itself free and climbed up out of the hole. "Oh no you don't!" She called out, sending down another glowing yellow band of energy that she tried to wrap around it once more. Once again the massive creature proved unable to dodge the glowing yellow energy as it wrapped around it, trapping it once more and causing it to let out another frustrated roar. "Good work sis!" Crimson chimed in, as she sent one of her red burst of energy at the massive creature. The energy blast struck it solidly on the upper back, but it seemed to casually shrug off the attack as little more than an annoyance. Back down on the ground, Tundra ceased struggling against Miss Grue for the moment, as she called out to the gigantic Grue and Ulysses. "I agree, it is time for a truce to stop this thing."
  21. The massive earth monster manages to break free from the energy construct with relative ease and climbs up out of the cavern. Once again Clover tries to trap the earth creature with an energy construct, and once again it misses its Reflex save with a 18. Crimson fires an energy blast at the creature, hitting with a 20, the creature makes its saving throw with a 34.
  22. Giang watched as the massive earth creature reared fully upright from the cavern, taking a deep breath as she did so and somehow forcing herself past the drained feeling she had been feeling from pushing her powers earlier. She felt it was likely she would need to be in top form for this fight, and could not let some exhaustion slow her down. She was glad to see the PanStar security guards taking her advice and falling back from the fight, taking their unconscious comrades with them. But the weight of the unconscious men was slowing them down, and they were still too close to the dangerous creature. So Giang maneuvered the water she had just summoned over between the men and the earth creature, creating a large wall of water that then went solid like the dome had before. Hopefully it would keep the creature from moving that direction, or at the very least slow it down some if it did.
  23. Round Eight 18 Tsunami (unharmed, 2 HP) 14 Earth Monster (bruised) 9 Clover (unharmed) 9 Crimson (bruised) 9 Tundra (bruised, grappled) 8 Ulysses (unharmed, 1 HP) 7 Miss Grue (bruised 2, 3 HP) Last: Security guards (5) Tsunami will spend a Hero Point and remove her fatigue. She will then use the water she just brought over to form a barrier between the giant earth creature and the retreating PanStar security guards.
  24. GM Tundra struggled against Miss Grue's grip, but the giant sized Grue managed to maintain her hold and shift Tundra into one hand as she turned to face the larger earth creature that had risen up in the underground cavern. Miss Grue then swung her now free hand at the large creature that had appeared, managing to strike it solidly thanks to the glowing energy that was helping to restrain it. The creature roared in what appeared to be pain, but stayed on its feet. The five remaining PanStar security personnel hesitated for a moment at Tsunami's suggestion they retreat, but then regarded the massive earth creature that was currently facing off with the assembled superpowered individuals. The five men then moved over to their unconscious comrades, each lifting up one of them as they began to drag them away from the now intensified superbattle.
  25. Tundra only gets a 24 on her grapple check, so Miss Grue maintains her hold. Normally, that would miss the massive earth creature, but with it bound by the energy creation from Clover, that is good enough to hit. It actually manages to miss its toughness save with a 21, so picks up a bruise.
