  1. Dee gave a slight cough as they entered the smoky, dimly lit building. For all her years as something of a party girl, the young Englishwoman had never been into drugs, although she did like incense. Still, the atmosphere in the building was quite heavy, but she managed to tolerate it, at least for the moment. <Well, they are not exactly being subtle are they?> She mentally stated to Singh and Ulysses as she spotted the statue at the end of the room. <Be dears and keep an eye on the guys lurking in the shadows if you please.> She then asked to two men. <I am going to see what I can learn.> And with that, she began to focus on the mind of the priest seated in front of the statue of Kali.
  2. Okay Giz, Rock looks good, but there is an error on Nae-Dae's sheet. For her abilities, you have spent 4 pp on Str (to buy it back up to 10 after the deduction for her size), 6 pp on Dex, 2 pp on Con, and should be 8 pp on Int (18), but you only list 4 pp. So instead fo 16 pp spent on attributes, it should be 20.
  3. Once back at home, Charlie began trying to run searches on the name embroidered on the hankerchief. Looking on a number of search engines and social media, Charlie found a number of profiles and pictures for people named Zeke Simmons. But none of the pictures were of the disheveled man he had seen at the demolition site or on the surveillance videos. Similarly, the facebook profiles and linked in accounts that he found with that name, were not for people in Freedom City. The nearest one was someone in New York City.
  4. Darr gave a nod at Kharag's response, translated by Chrystaa, the purple haired Praetorian mentalist. As Darr began his response, Chrystaa again translated fro Kharag. <The Delaztri Empire will honor its agreement. Your people will have a place among the Empire’s subjects, to be transported from this world to other worlds within the Empire.> Darr then stepped back towards Chrystaa and the gathered Delaztri dignitaries, as Kharag turned to address the members of his people that were present. The gathered Za’akis clans fell silent as their king began to address them once more. Despite their initial shock at seeing Kharag defeated, they took inspiration in his words, and a loud cheer erupted as he finished the speech.
  5. Synapse gets a 25.
  6. Coiled Lightning used his whip to pull himself up to the upper floors of the police station. It did not take long to find the likely window, as he found one of the fourth floor windows broken and a temporary board put in to cover it from the inside. As it turned out, the window was right by a fire escape, providing rather easy access for whomever had broken in to seal the time capsule contents. But looking around the fourth floor section of the fire escape and the ledge by the window turned up nothing that looked to be any sort of clue. Moving down into the alleyway beside the station that the fire escape led down to, Coiled Lighting began to search around for any other clues. At first it seemed that there was nothing out of the ordinary in the alley, but as he moved toward the back, he spotted something white lying off to one side of the alley. It turned out to be an old white hankerchief. Embroidered on the hankerchief was a name: Zeke Simmons.
  7. The general and Balus followed after Oskar as she showed them the way to their quarters, the general regarding the rooms with a firm gaze. While the general did not seem to be awed by the quality of the cabins, he also did not make any complaints. At least not yet. He gave a small nod in acknowledgment as Oskar excused himself to head up to the ship's bridge to get them underway. Meanwhile Balus had begun the process of organizing their things in the rooms. Once on the bridge, Oskar finds there is a last bit of supplies to be loaded aboard, some additional rations and other consumables that Nerrit had arranged to account for the presence of the general and Balus aboard. Once those were finished loading, Oskar fired up the engines and received clearance to depart the Solar Dawn. Soon the Xeno was exiting the docking bay forcefield, making its way back into the vacuum of space. Oskar received telemetry for a clear lane within the system to take him toward the out edge, where he could make the final calculations for setting their course to Nocturis, and really open up the Xeno's throttle, so to speak.
  8. <Hmmm.> Dee "responded" as she considered for a few moments the information for Ulysses. <I do not think you are going crazy, but the information is certainly interesting, and possibly very important. It may well be that our presence here is not a result of the bombs that were being used weakening dimensional barriers, but some third party reaching out across the dimensions for someone that could help. Question is, what third party?> <But contemplating possible answers to that will have to wait for a moment.> She then added. <Time to gain us access to this den of "depravity."> With that, the young Englishwoman cut off her connection to Ulysses, as she focused on using another of her powers. Reaching out to the mind of the lookout as the trio approached the door, Dee managed to push her way in, taking control of the man's mind. Even as he seemed to react to the approach of the group, he suddenly froze and went almost ridged. Then, without even a word, he turned and opened the door for Dee and her companions, stepping off to one side to allow them entrance.
  9. GM Kharag <Perhaps.> Chrystaa replied to Kharag's statements about a king having no equal and what had been necessary on his world when holding that rank. <But you are no longer on your world, and no longer a king. It would be good for you to remember that, and that even if you feel others of us have not earned your respect or trust, you are at least expected to behave in a civil manner.> With that, the Praetorian mentalist gave another small bow and moved on to congratulate another of the new Praetorians. Dragonid Following his oath, Dragonid was greeted by several older Praetorians who had come forward to congratulate him. Soon the former outcast found himself facing another of the Praetorians' new recruits, a hairless humanoid with greenish-blue skin and bony ridges, dressed in clothes made of leather, bone and animal fur.
  10. "Thanks, we will be sure to be in touch." Detective Erickson stated as he took the slip of paper with the email address Charlie had created for his alterego. The detective took out a business card as well and handed it to the costumed hero. "This is my contact information, so feel free to call me if you remember anything else or have some questions." When Charlie asked about getting a copy of the video footage, the detective shook his head slightly. "I'm afraid not, we have a pretty tight policy on when we share evidence with costumed crime fighters. You are certainly welcome to come back and look at it again if you want, and I might get in touch with you when we have one of our tech experts go in and try to clean things up some."
  11. The planet Za'ak Over two thousand years agob Several hundred members of a gathered Za'akis tribe were all stunned in silence, collectively unsure whether to truly believe their eyes. Their king, their very living god, who had existed for countless generations, had been defeated in single combat by one of the strange off worlders that had come to Za'ak from the sky. Even as some of the gathered Za'akis began whispering to one another, Darr Val-Ren walked over towards the prone form of the Za'akis' god-king. Standing over six feet tall with a powerfully built physique, the dark orange skinned Naram was dressed in a black uniform with red with golden yellow trim diamond patters on the shoulders and upper torso. A long red cape floated slightly in the breeze behind him, a few tears evident from the battle that had just taken place, but otherwise the Praetorian of the Delaztri Empire showed little sign of the conflict. Standing to one side of the gathering was the rest of the small group of representatives from the Empire. Most of the group was made up of four Delaztri dignitaries and military officers, green skinned humanoids with two sets of eyes, one right above the other, and a series of ridges that began at their foreheads and went up to the top of their heads. The last member of this group was at thing humanoid female with pale, almost white skin and soft features. She had long purple hair, and similarly colored eyes which had watched the battle intently. Darr extended a hand to assist the prone figure in returning to his feet, even as the Praetorian spoke in a language that neither the figure nor any of the gathered Za'akis could understand. But even as he spoke, the figure, and those gathered, 'heard' in their minds a translation of his words, courtesy of the purple haired female. <You fought honorably, but now you must fulfill the promises you made in our agreement.>
  12. GM Zandar listened to the Claremont students as they discussed the situation and ideas on possibly trying to scout ahead, smiling slightly as none of them hinted at wanting to avoid getting involved. When they had finished, he gave a small nod. "Then we are agreed, we will accompany the Tribune and his men in investigating these unknown strangers." He then focused on Juno as he continued, "but for the moment we should all stay together. From what I can tell, we are still a fair distance behind whomever these strangers are and we are not yet certain of their destination. Instead of letting some of you get too far from the rest of us, we shall try to close the distance some and then see sending out some scouts." Turning back toward where Septimius was talking with some of his men, the Jungle Lord called out. "It is agreed Tribune, we will join you in tracking these outworlders in order to learn the reason for their presence here." "We are most grateful for your assistance Jungle Lord." The young Tribune replied, giving a small bow before he looked over at the Claremont students and gave them a small nod as well. He then turned and called out loudly to his men in Latin before striding back over towards his raptor mount and climbed back up to the saddle. The Roman legionaries formed back into two lines for the march. "Whenever you are ready Jungle Lord." Septimius stated as he fixed his helmet back in place. "With your legendary tracking skills, I am confident it will not be long before we find our quarry."
  13. Been meaning to note this for a bit, but giving you another Hero Point for having to leave to meet back up with Jane after the fight and delay heading to the police station.
  14. Detective Erickson froze the image when Coiled Lightning pointed out the man with the round glasses. He quickly jotted down a few notes before letting the recording continue once more. The man watched as the fight unfolded, his body language somewhat hard to read on the tape. When the fight ended, he moved out as a crowd began to gather once more around the scene, but his attention seemed very much focused on the officer Charlie had handed the duffle bag to. Once the duffle bag was placed into a squad car and taken from the scene, the man watched for a moment, then turned and left the area. "Hmm, we will certainly have to see what we can find out about that guy." Erickson stated as he turned the monitor off. "Well, thank you for your help, both during the incident and now. Is there a way we can reach you if we need to ask some follow up questions or come up with some possible leads?"
  15. Oskar piloted the Xeno down toward the outpost, the ship bucking slightly as it entered the planet's atmosphere. From the readings Oskar was receiving, everything about the planet seemed similar to Earth. The atmosphere was a bit more oxygen rich than Earth's, but that was likely due to the lack of pollution. The temperatures seemed to hold at tropical levels across much of the planet, diving down to more temperate levels towards the poles. Gravity was almost identical to Earth's. The Xeno was just passing through a cloud bank when Seika made her way into the cockpit. The sun was still just below the horizon along the hemisphere in which their destination was located, leaving the sky still dark but starting to show signs of brightening. Down below them everything seemed to just be darkness, no defining characteristics. But then after a few moments, Seika was able to make out a faint glow below, soon realizing that it was some sort of bioluminescence within a large body of water, possibly an ocean, and seemed to be gathered along the coast line. She was also the first one to spot their destination, a collection of faint light and heat situated along a cliff near the ocean. It was not long before the Kahi'iru was able to make out some of the area around the outpost, a vast jungle that stretched inland as far as she could see. Oskar was able to lock onto the landing pad, which was illuminated in the darkness. The sensors made the outpost out to be a tight collection of three buildings, two of which were about the size of the Xeno, the third being at least twice as big.
  16. Okay Cape, Starshot has heard of Nocturis, it is a frontier world along the outer edge of Khanate space. It planetary rotation is so slow that the days and nights each can last a few standard weeks.
  17. Rav, it is possible to have adventures in space, without actually being in the vacuum of space. (Geckoman and Temperance are currently in a space adventure and neither of them have life support). SG, sadly I currently do not have any ideas which would take someone from Earth out into space
  18. "There is no shortage of hired muscle that tend to only know a small part of the big picture in this town." Detective Erickson stated in agreement. He then took Coiled Lightning into a small conference room off to one side where there was a TV monitor and a DVD player. Turning them on, he began to run through various footage of the scene at the Mayfair building for the costumed hero. For what Charlie could see, it seemed like they police had footage from a number of security cameras that were located in the area. As he watched the scene before the attack began, he was able to pick himself and Jane out of the crowd. Luckily none of the cameras had an angle on the alleyway he had gone into the get up to a rooftop to change. As he watched the fight breakout and the crowd scatter, Charlie saw Scott Lewis take cover behind a car, although he stuck his head up to watch the scene unfold. Charlie also noticed the guy he had scene in the crowd before the criminals had shown up, the one with the stained white collared shirt and thick round glasses. The man had moved away from the fight when it started, but had not gone far, instead stopping in a doorway to a nearby building from which he had watched the fight.
  19. The general's servant came trudging into the lounge shortly after the general and Oskar made their way in. He was pushing a small stack of luggage that was stacked on a hoverdisk. The general was slowly sweeping his stern gaze over the contents of the hunger's lounge, noting the luxurious accommodations and pausing a moment at the sight of the stuffed animal heads. He moved over near a shelf along one wall and ran a finger along the shelf briefly before turning to regard the capture tanks. "Rather impressive captain." He stated as he looked at the tanks. "Although not likely to see much use while I am aboard." He then turned his steely gave to Ana as she entered the room. "Greetings." He replied, though his tone was very neutral. He studied Ana for a moment before turning back to Oskar. "If you could direct Balus to which quarters will be mine, he can begin getting our things arranged. Whenever you are ready to depart captain, our first stop will be Nocturis."
  20. Yes, I expect you are on the Xeno.
  21. Okay Tiff, Miss Grue is up!
  22. "Yes, I am a woman of many talents." Dee replied to Singh with a small smile. "And my abilities are not mystical, but I suppose the distinction is not really important." She then added. The young Englishwoman then looked over to Ulysses as she continued. "I do have to be able to see the person who's mind I want to read, but it certainly is something I can do relatively discreetly." When Ulysses focused on trying to make his thoughts as loud as possible, he heard Dee's voice in his mind once again. <You don't have to be that loud.> He could hear the smile in her mental voice. <But for the moment I am here, though once I start trying to learn more about the Thugee that will take most of my focus.>
  23. Okay, last time I forgot to count Ulysses' superstrength, but the result would still have been the same. So DC 33 toughness save for the snare, it only gets a 16, so he breaks free! You still have a move action if you want to use it.
  24. Yeah, that should be fine. I'll put up info on the planet in my next post, just want to wait for Goose.
