"Bloody wonderful, the start of another superhuman arms race." Dee muttered at the professor's comments. "And how many dead or maimed test subjects is Egypt willing to pile up to achieve its goals?" An old anger simmered in the Englishwoman, although she knew she should not be surprised of what lengths a government was willing to go in order to try to achieve reliable superpowered agents. She was pulled away from this by Erick's mental message. She had noticed he seemed to freeze for a moment and then recover, presumably having received another of his visions. Swamp creatures? What are you bloody talking about? What did you see?

Despite Harry's prostrations in opposition, the decision was made that Lucy would carry the Caddy, with Harry inside, while Freddy would run alongside, as he was just as fast as the undead lawyer. Even for Freedom City, the resulting scene was an unusual one, Lucy and Freddy running down the streets, just as fast as the cars, with Lucy holding the beat up and smashed Caddy over her head, Harry sitting, white knuckled, behind the wheel of the carried vehicle. Even though he was in abject terror during the "ride" to the abandoned warehouse, in the back of his mind, Harry could not help feeling that there was something familiar about the name Ronnie Motts. A short while later, the trio arrived at the address Strand had provided. It turned out to be a relatively small warehouse (comparatively to its neighbors), with a somewhat larger paved yard around it. Seven foot high chainlink fences surrounded the yard, a gate at the front appearing to be locked closed. The warehouse was dark, or at least the front part of it was.

Goose, I see a small math problem. Your powers total up to 44 pp, not 43.

Jane glanced over to Charlie when he came back out and asked his questions about what might have happened to the Garrote. She just gave a shrug as she answered. "No idea, it was over Eighty years ago after all. But everyone seems to agree that whoever was behind it committed no more murders after that night, so, he either died or did not want to get shot again. Either way, no one has been able to identify who was behind the murders." When he asked about going to see the time capsule opened, she though a brief moment and then replied. "Yeah, who knows if there really will be anything in there to identify the Garrote, but could be interesting." She then paused and gave a small smile. "But right now, I think you have a Mustang waiting for you."

Velocity had just started to get a bit impatient about what could be taking Grim so long when she returned with one of the servants, commenting about running into another Duke outside. "Another one?" The speedster commented with a small frown. "This certainly appears to be getting out of hand." She then was quiet as the servant began looking over the Duke's journal, confirming that it did indeed appear that the Duke had been writing in it for well over seventy years. When the servant translated the last entry, Velocity was lost in thought for a few moments. Well, a few moments for her, which was more a fraction of a second to everyone else. "So, he jumps 'from body to body,' what exactly does that mean? Does he have clone bodies that his consciousness moves from one to another? Is he somehow duplicating himself? Or is it something else? Maybe the Duke somehow hijacking other people's bodies, and reshaping them as his own?" She then posed to Robert and Grim. "I think one of the first things we need to do is figure out how to shut this little mad scientist experiment in here down."

GM Sagittarius' eyes snapped back open as she forced her numb body to move. Frost broke off her costume and skin as she brought her legs up toward her chest and then exploded the back out, using the momentum to spring herself back up to her feet. The archer then moved forward to the edge of the now frost blasted trees to see the ghostly form of Comrade Frost advancing. "I know not what manner of ice demon you are, but let us see how you handle fire!" She called out to the Russian vampire as she drew back another arrow and aimed. But despite her confidence, she was still suffering from the effects of Frost's attack, her hand holding her bow shaking and unsteady. Sagittarius released the arrow, which burst into a jet of flame as it left the bow. But her shot flew well wide of the target, flying off to embed itself into a tree several hundred feet past on the opposite side of the highway. Fire quickly spread along the trunk of the tree, but it was held in check by the heavy rain that was still falling. As Aries dodged the grasping rocks and earth, he quickly glanced around at the scene, even as Velocity sped past him to look for Leo. With the League speedster gone, he was lacking in ground bound targets to attack. There was the dragon, but for the moment Libra and Aquarius seemed to be doing well enough. "I am going to fetch Leo, hold them." He called out, and then sped off after Velocity, which was a difficult endeavor, as she was far fast than he was. But as it turned out, he did not have far to go, at least not to him or Velocity. She had found Leo, who was engaged with yet another member of the League, who had been protecting one of the soldiers from the missing Humvee. Turning after Velocity as Leo took her punch, Aries lowered his helmet once more as she sped towards Velocity's back. But the yellow clad speedster easily saw Aries' approach, thanks to her groggles, and agilely dodged aside. Aries continued on past, looping back around as he came up off to one side of Leo to face the two League members.

Okay, Sagittarius will shake off her daze (HP to Frost!) and then kips up to her feet. She draws an arrow and fires it as Frost and the arrow turns into a burst of flame as it leaves the bow, but she misses with a 15. Aries speeds off after Velocity and is able to spot her fighting with Leo and charges her, missing with a 22. Fleur is up!

Velocity was observing everything going on around her (something made easy thanks to her goggles and speed). For the moment, Frost seemed to have the archer in hand, and though Aries had shrugged off a solid hit from Gabriel with ease, the League members mainly seemed to have things reasonably under control. At least well enough for her to take a few seconds and go look for the apparently absent Zodiac member based on the descriptions provided by the ambushed soldiers. "Alright, I'll go take a look." The speedster replied to Comrade Frost's comment as he stayed focused on Sagittarius. "Hopefully be back in just a few." And with that she was gone in a blur of yellow, running up the rural highway toward the center of town, zipping past Aries as she went. As Velocity sped up the highway, she carefully studied the area round her, with her goggles allowing her to expand the distance she could more carefully study. Continuing past the intersection with the other rural highway, she continued toward the north end of town. It was when she was at the north end of town that she spotted Fleur along with a soldier facing off with what had to be the missing Zodiac member. Civilians were scattering from the scene, as well, but Velocity was able to weave around them as she zipped over toward Leo. "Hey Fleur, hope you don't mind me cutting in." Velocity called out as she came up beside the costumed criminal. Her fist shot out at blinding speed, a loud *CRACK* echoing as it broke the sound barrier. *WHAM* She connected solidly with Leo, but the villain was just able to roll with the punch, spinning all the way around as he put a bit of space between him and the new arrival, crouching down slightly to prepare to strike.

Aries only gets a 21, I will have him reroll, getting a 23, just good enough (another HP back to Gaian). And yes, that misses Libra.

Jane gave a small smile and squeezed his hand in return. "Well, even if the boss would go for you going out to test the new breaks, I don't think he would like you pulling me from the front desk to ride along." She then gave a small sign. "And speaking of, I need to get back out there." She stood up and the stopped a moment, pointing down at the day's copy Daily Herald. "Oh, did you see that article about the demolition of the old Mayfair Insurance Building in Midtown? Pretty crazy stuff if it turns out to be true." She then turned and made her way out of the break room. Glancing down at the paper, Charlie saw it was open to a page toward the back, the largest article on the page grabbing his attention first. Cold Case About To Be Solved? by Scott Lewis As the demolition of the old Mayfair Insurance Building along the western edge of Midtown nears completion, interest has begun to grow around the time capsule that was set in the foundation of the building nearly eighty one years ago. Back in 1933, when the foundation of the Mayfair Building was being set, residents in the Parkside and West End neighborhoods of Freedom City were living in fear of a killer known only as the Garrote. The Garrote's last confirmed victim was Patricia O'Neil, murdered in a southeastern neighborhood of Parkside on July 19, 1933. A police officer arrived just after the murder, catching site of the fleeing suspect and started off in pursuit. While the officer was not able to keep up with the fleeing suspect in the black cloak, he was able to fire off a shot that appeared to hit the figure. The dark cloaked figure then disappeared into the shadows of the night and there was never another Garrote murder. But recently there have been rumors that a long forgotten witness, dismissed by the authorities at the time as a drunkard, had seen a black cloaked figure enter the construction site of the Mayfair Building on the night of July 19, 1933. This unknown witness claimed to have seen the figure remove his cloak and throw it into a corner of the building before continuing on into the night. The recent rumors regarding this forgotten witness and the possibility that clues to the identity of the Garrote might lie buried in the time capsule beneath the Mayfair Building has lead to an increased interest in the opening of the time capsule. I know for one that I will be present tomorrow evening when the time capsule is supposed to be opened, hoping that at last there might be some solid answers about the mysterious murder who terrorized parts of the city all those decades ago.

Don's Auto-Garage, Southside, Freedom City, New Jersey Tuesday September 16, 2014; 11:00 AM Charlie Stevens did his best to wipe his greasy hands clean with a rag as he made his way back into the break room of Don's Auto-Garage after spending over two hours on the engine of a customer’s SUV. Right now he needed a cool glass of water before getting started on the next car before lunch. As Charlie entered the small break room, he was surprised to find Jane Palmer, his girlfriend and co-worker, already there, seated at the small round table in one corner and drinking a cup of coffee as she looked over a newspaper. "Hey, finally get Mrs. Norton’s SUV running again?" Jane asked with a small smile.

Fox, I went back and looked at the rules on HPs in the corebook, you are actually only allowed to use a HP for a particular purpose (ie a reroll, or removing a status effect) once per round, so Tiamat should not have been able to reroll the toughness save from Libra's attack. I will go ahead with it right now, but neither Gaian Knight or Tiamat get another reroll this round.

GM Aquarius lightning danced across Tiamat's scales, lighting up that section of the darkened sky briefly, before it dissipated. But the powerful dragon managed to resist the attack, muscles tensing only slightly before, she was able to force them to work as they should once more. Down below in the grass of the backyard of the house over which Tiamat now hovered, Libra pushed herself upright, forcing herself to focus past the dizziness that had accompanied the dragon's powerful blow. Climbing back up to her feet, the golden costumed supercriminal focused back up on the dragon. "You are a powerful one, time to bring you to ground!" She called out, as she raised her hands and sent another powerful wave of magnetic force at Tiamat. The blast once again slammed into Tiamat, hammering against the hardened scales that covered the dragon's body. But once again, Tiamat resisted the attack, remaining where she was, unfazed and unharmed.

Okay, removing Libra’s daze (+1 HP back to Gaian), she stands up and power attacks Tiamat (-3 atk/+3 dam), hitting with a 16 (as Tiamat is still at -2 defense from her charge), another DC 31 toughness save for Tiamat!

Sagittarius gets a 21 on her toughness save, so bruised and dazed. She is also knocked back 100’. She hits a tree, but makes that toughness save with a 27, so takes no more damage.

With the situation apparently defused and Lord Zandar conversing with the tribune with no apparent concern, Giang moved back into the open and towards Cho and Gene. "How many outworlders are you hosting Jungle Lord?" The tribune stated at first, before his eyes narrowed slightly as he focused on Giang. "I…I know you. You were among the outworlder youth that came to Nova Roma last year and reveled the schemes of the Serpent People!" Giang gave a small nod in reply. "Yes tribune, I accompanied several of my classmates to your city to help stop the Serpent People threat." She replied simply. "I recall you particularly." The tribune continued. "I was present at the Senate assembly when you dramatically reveled that the Serpent People had infiltrated our city, by smashing one across the Senate floor with the stream of water you conjured out of thin air." The Asian teen's demeanor remained neutral, but she gave another small nod. "Yes, that was me."

Velocity watched as Grim opened the portal to...somewhere else, somewhere certainly a lot more inviting than La Isla de la Reina Venerado was at the moment. When Grim explained the portal and her plan, the speedster gave a small nod in agreement. "Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. Certainly quicker than moving them all one at a time." "I will move those that seem less injured, so likely to be able to handle me moving them the entire distance the normal way, and at superspeed. If we find some that seem too badly injured...we'll have to try to figure out what we want to do then." She stated, as she quickly moved over and found one of the apparently less injured children and picked them up to carry them to the shelter.

GM South of Town: Gabriel's sonic barrage was on target, several of the bursts striking Aries dead on, and a couple hitting the pavement around him, kicking up chunks of asphalt and dust into the air. When the dust cleared, the supervillian was still standing in place, appearing unaffected by the barrage. "Perhaps." He called back. "But you will need to do better than that to stop me." Up in the air, Aquarius turned and flew to the east in pursuit of Tiamat. Coming up a couple dozen meters to the massive dragon's left flank, the masked man seemed to regard her a moment. Tiamat could smell magic emanating from the man. <"It has been sometime since I have seen a dragon as large and powerful as you."> He stated in Draconic. <"A pity we find ourselves in opposition."> He concluded, as he raised one hand and a powerful bolt of lightning shot forth to strike Tiamat squarely on the side. Near the Early Bird Diner: Momentarily surprised by Leo's sudden appearance and attack on Fleur, Sergeant Davenport quickly recovered, drawing his sidearm and bringing it part way up. But the soldier was reluctant to try to take aim and fire off a shot, given the supervillain's close proximity to Fleur.
