"Be careful." Velocity had stated just before Fleur had teleported away with the soldier. The speedster then glanced over at her fellow League members. "Get their attention? Yeah, that should not be too hard." She stated with a small grin. "We might as well just head straight to the south barricade, as that is the closest to here and would not require trying to circle around to another side." She added, become fully serious once more. The yellow clad speedster then started off in a blur of movement, but not getting too far ahead of the rest so they would arrive together. Even with the comparatively slower pace of the others, it was not long before they came within sight of the town, the lights from buildings standing out against the dark shadows created by the storm clouds and heavy rain. Just as the Freedom League members could see the dark shape of the piles of debris placed across the highway, Velocity accelerated away from them, speeding up by the barrier and breaking the sound barrier, a massive *BOOM* echoing in the air as a the sonic boom's shockwave slammed into the barrier, sending parts of it flying away, although it was still well in place along parts of the road. Velocity skid to a halt a few dozen yards away from the barrier, waiting for the others to catch up and finish off what was left.

GM "Yes ma'am." Specialist Jones replied as Fleur indicated he was going to accompany her to the church. He glanced at his damaged M4 carbine, and decided to leave the damage weapon where it lay, drawing his pistol instead. Moments the pair appeared outside the town’s small church, emerging from a hydrangea that was just to one side of the main entrance. It was even darker here directly underneath the dark clouds than it had been back where Velocity had found the specialist, and the rain was heavier as well. The soldier followed Fleur into the church, heading off through a side door in the outer vestibule to take stock of what there was. Fleur made her way quickly through the chapel, towards the rooms in the back of the building where Velocity had indicated the priest was treating the injured soldier. As she entered the room, the priest, a thin man in his late 50’s turned quickly toward the door, stepping in front of the soldier as if to shield him. "This man is under…" he began, his voice trailing off as he recognized the green haired superheroine before him. "Your one of the Freedom League! Lord be praised." He stepped to one side so Fleur could see the injure man. "He has an arrow wound, in his left shoulder, and at least second degree burns on his back and right side. I was trying to provide what assistance I could, but I am afraid it is not much." Fleur could see the priest had begun treating the soldier with his own first aid kit, having bandaged the man’s arrow wound and had been cleaning his burns. She also saw the briefcase that was handcuffed to his left wrist.

GM As Cho and Gene remained in their places, Cho looking through the thick foliage for the source of the sound, Zandar and his daughter both also blended into the jungle around them. Kit decided to take a more proactive approach, concealing herself before starting to retrace their steps. But she had not moved far before the sounds behind them grew louder, the footfalls of numerous individuals, moving forward quickly. Kit had to draw up short as a line of nine men wearing banded metal armor and helmets emerged from the jungle foliage. Each carried rectangular, if slightly curved, shields in one hand, and a long javelin in the other. They were the spitting image of a Roman legionnaire from so many Hollywood movies. A second rank of legionnaires followed immediately behind the first, the group moving forward at a quick march, advancing on the location where the others were. Off to either side, Kit saw at least another dozen men moving quickly along the flanks, forming a U shaped formation. She had to make a quick decision, either fall back away from the advancing wall of shields, or quickly slip through the spaces between the main wall and the flanks on one side or the other. The others saw the Roman legionnaires not long after Kit, as the wall of soldiers continued to advance forward. Following along to one side of the center wall of men was another Roman who was riding on a huge two legged feathered dinosaur with large claws on its feet. The man wore an armored chestplate that was more elaborate than that worn by the legionnaires, along with a red cloak and a red plumed helmet.

Okay HGM, most everything looks good (not seeing any math errors or the like). One thing that I am personally unsure about is having four ranks of Area Progression on the Area Blast. Reaching out to half a mile is a HUGE area (even if you might not ever use that much). The thing that really makes me wonder is that his normal (I would assume more focused blast) has a max range of 1,200 feet. Why does the last where he is spreading the blast (with only a minimal reduction in damage and actually more penetration power) have the ability to reach out to twice that distance?

Velocity glanced over at Grim returned to the cellar with the tray of coffee (an unnecessary movement thanks to her goggles, but a reflex the speedster still followed when there was no reason not to let someone know you saw them). "Another Duke? That is not really too surprising." She replied. "After all, the other staff did mention that he seemed to be in multiple places at once, even all over the world." "It is also pretty clear that this equipment is drawing power somehow from me, but what it is doing with that power is not as clear." Velocity then added. "It could have something to do with how there are multiple Dukes popping up all over the place. Hopefully Robert will have more insight once he clears his head."
-
While Grim was off to get some coffee, Velocity was left to keep an eye on the two unconscious Dukes and butler, which still left her plenty of time to consider what they had learned so far and what was going on inside this cellar. "You know..." she began, addressing Robert who was still managing to remain awake as he tried to fight through the fog caused by the drugged food, "it seems pretty clear this apparatus is somehow drawing power from me, but what exactly it is doing with it is the question." She glanced back at the two unconscious Dukes as she continued. "We have two copies of the Duke, and from what the staff was saying, he had the ability to be in even more places at once, all around the world. Perhaps some sort of psychic projection, given substance?" The speedster let out a small sigh. "I hope Grim is able to hurry back, I need you to help figure out this stuff," she waved at the machinery in the room, "and if it is safe to break any of it or otherwise shut it down."
-
Yeah, that did not work too well, Sureshot got a good roll and a 36 on his acrobatics roll.

Velocity took a moment, a very brief moment, to take in their surroundings after Grim's question about where to start. There was clearly much that needed to be done, where to start was always hard to decide. "I'm not sure there is any Red Cross office here, or even if there is, how organized it is at the moment." The speedster began. "We can try to keep an eye out for it as we get moving, but for now, I think the first place to start is the partially collapsed bridge over there." She pointed off in the direction of the collapsed bridge. "There is a bus that looks to be full of children right be the edge of the collapsed section, so how about we start with getting them clear of that?"

Sureshot makes another attack (accurate attack -3 dam/+3 atk), still missing with a 16 Round Ten Foreshadow 32 (Unharmed, 2 HP) Sureshot 27 (bruised) Shore Gangstas 15 Los Tiburones 11
-
As soon as Foreshadow struck his testing blow on the costumed criminal, Sureshot executed a series of back handsprings, widening the distance between the pair once more. As the man came back upright, another glowing disc formed in his hand as he considered the capped crime fighter a moment. "An interesting offer. But it would likely serve to undo all the goodwill I have built up with my employer thus far, making continued opportunities much harder to come by." With that he threw the glowing disc, but Foreshadow was already moving, rolling aside and back up to his feet with relative ease, causing the energy disc to sail well wide. "You certainly are proving a most difficult adversary."

This time he makes the toughness save with a 23.

Dee took a seat when the professor had gestured toward it. She gave him a small understanding nod as he mentioned the troubles in the country, and the replied to his change in languages in near fluent French. <"French will be just fine."> When Erick arrived, she glanced up at him, giving him a small nod in greeting. I hope it was not because you felt the need to run down every pickpocket in the market. She mentally teased the costume vigilante as she focused her attention back on Professor Zaki. <"I am afraid not as much as we would like. We know that it was part of an old Soviet project to try to reliably create metahumans, developed by a man known as Doctor Zero. There were a number of trials of the process, but that it never proved stable enough for widespread use.">

Okay, earlier you said we could make a DC 20 Kn: Physical Science test to look at the stuff in the cellar, I did not make it for Velocity because I forgot she had that skill (and thought untrained she could not get that high). But, she does have the skill so….she gets a 22!

Giang had stopped towards the rear of the group when Zandar had halted them. On hearing the Jungle Lord's statement that he had found tracks made by boots from outside the Lost World, she had just been about to comment when Juno gave her warning. Turning back the direction they had come, the Asian teen moved over into the foliage to one side, ducking down to try to hide from view. Although she did not do so immediately, Giang was already preparing herself to use her powers, should whatever was coming proved to be dangerous or hostile.

Dee Farrington made her way down the Cairo streets, doing her best to avoid attention. The Englishwoman was dressed more conservatively than would be normal, wearing a pair of dark blue jeans and a loose, khaki button up short sleeved blouse over a white T-shirt. In addition, she wore a headscarf, which wrapped loosely around her neck, along with a pair of sunglasses. Dee's trail to Egypt had been a long one, as she had spent a fair bit of time over the last several months since the Winter Olympics trying to follow up on what she had glimpsed from the Sleeper. Mainly it had resulted in lots of dead ends or cold trails. But between her and Erick (who had been conducting his own investigations when he could), there had been just enough uncovered to lead them to Egypt, and the man waiting at the quiet coffee shop in this ancient city. <"As-salamu alaykum Professor."> Dee stated in perfect Egyptian Arabic as she came up to the table where the man sat. <"I hope you have not been waiting too long?">

Velocity was relieved that they managed to get the staff safely away from the castle. After they returned to the cellar, she listened to what Robert had to say, not exactly sure if she liked the answers, although there seemed to be a lot more, which Robert was apparently not quite in a state to figure out. "I am not sure if we want him fully awake at the moment." The speedster replied to Grim as she mentioned getting the drugged Duke some coffee to help wake him up. "At least not until we have a better idea why there are two of him running around." Before he went back to sleep, that particular version of the Duke did little to help clear up what was going on. "So, should I stay out of the room then?" Velocity asked, as the dials continued to show spikes in activity, apparently triggered by her presence.

Giang Trang was on the Luther's bridge, dressed in the costume she wore as Tsunami, as she listened to Captain Gomez's report. Given her somewhat recent move to the West Coast, responding to the Navy's call could have proven difficult for the Asian teen, but luckily she had been able to convince John Smith (aka Myrmidon) that this was on his way towards one of his next freelance assignments, and had gotten a ride with him. She had also asked John if he had wanted to come along on the investigation, given the Navy had had difficulty in getting in contact with Wave-Eye. After all, having additional help was never something to pass up. "I do believe that we can certainly get down there quickly enough Captain." Giang stated once the man was done. "Do you have a current fix on the activity?"

With a rush of wind and a faint sonic boom that arrived after she had already come to a stop, Velocity appeared a few miles inland in one of La Isla de la Reina Veneado's major cities. The heavy winds that still remained whipped her brown ponytail (from the wig she wore in costume) around behind her as the yellow clad speedster steadied herself. The Freedom League member would likely have been here on scene hours ago, but her status as a member of the League had meant she had needed to wait until the island's government requested help. Once that had come, she had wasted no time in getting ready to get down here to help. The only thing that had delayed her was a call from her old friend, Grimalkin, who had wanted to get involved in helping as well. But even that had been only a slight delay. "Okay, we're here." Velocity stated over her shoulder, towards the slightly open backpack she was wearing.

Tsunami notice check: 18 Okay, while most of the group is focused on Zandar (or other things), Juno is the first to hear something (or what sounds like several somethings) approaching from behind them, with Cho hearing it very shortly after...
