Brings us back to... Round Two Foreshadow 32 Sniper 16 Shore Gangstas 15 Los Tiburones 11 Foreshadow is up!
-
If the sniper saw Foreshadow approach, he certainly did not react to the approach of the costumed crime fighter, instead keeping his weapon trained on the vehicles below. He shifted his aim slightly to the car behind the now crashed SUV and fired another shot. The window of the car exploded, as the bullet clipped the shoulder of the driver, injuring him slightly. Inside the SUV, the gang members were still recovering from slamming into the parked car after losing a wheel. The driver of the car put the vehicle into reverse, pulling back away from the SUV, trying to get clear of the sniper. Over in the parking lot of the apartment building, a number of people scattered and ran, but a good half dozen or more figures moved toward the edge of the parking lot.
-
Sniper's notice check, 10, so he stays focused on the SUV and car. Sniper shoots at the driver of the car, hitting with a 18. The driver gets a 17 for his toughness save, so he is only injured.

Velocity rolled her eyes slightly (something the others could not see behind her mirrored goggles). "Just great, the one who likely has the best shot of helping us figure out what all this is for when and got himself drugged." She commented as she stopped vibrating her molecules, returning to normal. She then moved over and took Robert from the servants that were holding him and moved the sleeping Englishman off toward one of the walls that was clear of all the electrical cables and mad scientist equipment. "Keep an eye on them and that sarcophagus." The speedster commented to Grim. "I will be right back." With that Velocity vibrated her molecules once more and speed through the locked door. Once through, she returned to normal once more and looked to try to open the door from the other side.
-
Okay, that should move you close enough to reach him in a move action the next round. Go ahead and post IC.
-
Okay, you spot the sniper on a fire escape a block or so away.

Give me another Notice check.

Giang gave a small nod as Thaelia confirmed that the arena was indeed used for races, as well as other sporting events. She was not at all surprised to hear that the arena also hosted bouts of combat, her year and a half rooming with Thaelia had certainly taught her that martial skills and testing those skills was of great import to Atlanteans. She smiled slightly as Wave-Eye became quite animated at the sight of the arena and the crowds gathered for the day's races and mentioned going to greet old comrades that he had spotted in the crowds. "Indeed, enjoy yourself Wave Eye." The Asian teen replied. When Temperance mentioned taking in the races, Giang gave a small nod. "I do not believe we are in any hurry. We can certainly stay for awhile ourselves."

Player Name Thievish Character Name: Paradigm Power Level: 15 (244/250PP) [260] Trade-Offs: -3 Def/+3 Toughness; -3 Atk/+3 Damage (+3 Atk/-3 Damage for Heat Vision) Unspent Power Points: 6 In Brief: An alien paragon who defended an ancient space empire, recently revived after two millennium in suspended animation. Alternate Identity: Amara Val-Ren Identity: Public Birthplace: Naram Prime Occupation: Former Praetorian of the Delaztri Empire; Current Imperatrix of the Praetorians Affiliations: Praetorians Family: Daar Val-Ren (brother - deceased) Age: 49 (DOB: over 2,000 years ago, was 40 when taken out of stasis in 2014) Apparent Age: 20 Gender: Female Height: 5’ 8” Weight: 3,000 lbs Eyes: Yellow Hair: Dark Purple/Black Paradigm, like others of her race, has skin that is a dark orange in color. Her hair, which she wears down past her shoulders, is black mixed with dark purple and her eyes are a dark yellow. Slightly taller than average, she has a lithe build, which disguises her true strength. Paradigm's costume is a full length white bodysuit, with black diamonds on the shoulders, upper chest and back, which were surrounded by golden yellow trim. Black gloves go up almost the length of each forearms, and her black boots go halfway up her calves, both also having golden yellow trim. A long, black cape completes the outfit. Power Descriptions: Paradigm's already alien physiology was radically altered by the enhancement treatment she underwent over two thousand years ago. Her body's density was greatly increased, making her far stronger and tougher than the normal members of her species, but without any visible change to her appearance. History: Over two thousand years ago, the Delaztri Empire ruled an area of space encompassing hundreds of worlds. After more expansive conquests centuries earlier, the Empire’s growth had greatly slowed, the Empire turning away from aggressive expansion and instead focusing on governing the diverse races within its borders. What little growth that continued to occur was mainly the result of diplomacy, and planets choosing to peacefully integrate into the Empire, looking to gain the benefits of Delaztri rule. During this time, the greatest defenders of the Delaztri Empire were the Praetorians (the closest English/Lor translation of the original title), an organization consisting of hundreds of individuals of incredible power, recruited among the many different races within the Empire’s boarders. Amara Val-Ren was born on Naram, a planet long under the rule of the Delaztri. Amara's people were genetically stronger and tougher than many other humanoid species, with members of the species chosen to undergo genetic and radiation treatments to produce powerful members of the Praetorians. The numbers of Naram subjected to such treatments were usually kept low by the Delaztri, for fear of creating a force of superpowered Naram that might choose to depose them. Amara's older brother, Daar, had been selected to join the Praetorians when she was still a young girl, eventually rising to be one of the leading members of the organization. Inspired by her brother, Amara dedicated herself to trying to earn the right to undergo the enhancement treatments and become a member of the Praetorians as well. When Amara had reached her thirty-fifth cycle (roughly about eighteen for a human), she competed in a contest with other Naram for the honor of being selected for the enhancement treatment and membership in the Praetorians. Although the various trials were grueling, Amara managed to finish ahead of the other competitors, earning herself the chance to follow in her older brother's footsteps. Amara left Naram behind, traveling to the seat of the empire to undergo the enhancement treatment. The process was painful, but resulted in the young Naram's body density vastly increasing, with no outward change to her appearance. Her natural strength and durability were vastly increased, with Amara also developing the ability to fly, even through the cold expanse of space, and to survive unharmed in almost any environment. It was not long after that Amara was inducted as a member of the Praetorians, joining her older brother in defending the empire. For the next five years, she served loyally, facing numerous dangers as a Praetorian. Then, a new enemy appeared at the boarders of the empire, pushing quickly into Delzatri space, and swatting aside the initial responses from the Delzatri Navy and the Praetorians. Ultimately, the entire might of the Praetorians was thrown at this threat and following several climatic battles, the enemy was defeated and driven from Delzatri space. But the victory came at a high price. Just over three quarters of the Praetorians were dead before the enemy was finally repulsed, including Daar Val-Ren. As the few dozen weary and battered survivors made their way back from the front, the damaged Delzatri Naval ships they were aboard were intercepted by one of the Curator's museum ships. The ancient Preserver created AI had decided that the surviving Praetorians needed to be collected and preserved by him. The surviving Praetorians naturally resisted, but were overwhelmed by the Curator's drones and placed in suspended animation and brought back to his vast ringworld. The Delzatri Empire collapsed not long after, while Amara and the others have sat in suspended animation for millennia. When the Communion recently returned, overrunning parts of the Stellar Khanate and destroying Lor-Van, the Curator reviewed Amara and the other surviving Praetorians. Although initially shocked by how much time had passed and the fact the empire they had sworn to protect was no more, the Praetorians realized that the galaxy still needed protecting from the Communion. By the decision of her fellow Praetorians, Amara was made the new Imperatrix to lead them, taking the role her brother had once held along with a small group of others. Making contact with the Lor, the Grue and other galactic powers that were trying to resist the Communion, the Praetorians helped in organizing the Coalition and fighting against the Communion. As the leader of the Praetorians, Amara was not only involved in the fighting, but also attended meetings of the Coalition leaders, helping to provide a neutral viewpoint that was not clouded by allegiance or bias to any of the existing factions in space. Once the Communion had been defeated, Amara continued to lead the majority of her fellow Praetorians in serving as defenders for those Coalition governments that wished to accept their aid. The Praetorians came to work in concert with the Star Knights, who were working to rebuild their numbers following the Incursion, and added one of the interstellar protectors to their ranks as a representative from the group. Several other Coalition governments sent representatives to be members of the Praetorians, including the Lor. Personality & Motivation: A large portion of Amara’s life was spent in preparation for and then as a defender of the Delzatri Empire. She was driven to live up to the example of service set by other members of her race, including her older brother. Her powers tended to lead her to be confident and forceful, not relying on subtlety. Although Amara was just as shocked to learn that the Delzatri Empire had ceased to be, she quickly shouldered the responsibility of leading her fellow Praetorians against the returned thread of the Communion. Along with most of her fellow Praetorians, Amara has found new purpose in offering assistance and protection to those parts of the galaxy that request it. Having been thrown into working with leaders from the Coalition, the young Naram learned to hone her diplomatic skills, along with some guidance from Elite. Amara has settled into her role as the leader of the Praetorians, although part of her wishes she could share the burden as her bother had with several others two thousand years ago. While decisions may ultimately rest with her, she does not hesitate to seek counsel and advice from her teammates and even puts matters to a vote by the team when appropriate. Powers & Tactics: Paradigm’s powers make her very strong and durable, but she also spent years as part of a larger organization, so her tactics tend to reflect both these influences. Her natural instinct is too quickly to close with threats, relying on her durability to protect her. But years working with her fellow Praetorians has made Paradigm realize the importance of teamwork and understand the roles that all of her fellow teammates can play. Complications: Stuff of Legends Although the Delaztri Empire has long since ceased to be, there are still parts of the galaxy where the Empire and its Praetorians are legends. On some worlds, the Praetorians are recalled as legendary heroes, but on other worlds, history has come to paint them as oppressors and conquers. Okay, go ahead and roll initiative. Foreshadow also gets a HP, for his precog not quite working like it should.

The two vehicles continued down the street, passing through the mostly quiet neighborhood. As they started to approach a tall, rundown apartment building, the lead vehicle began to slow down slightly. Up ahead, Foreshadow could see a group of people gathered in a parking lot beside the apartment building. The costumed crime fighter felt a slight warning buzz in his head from his extra sensory powers, just as the SUV began to approach the parking lot. There was still no sigh of the mystery man, or anyone that might be working for him, and Foreshadow knew that the gunfire could be starting very soon. But even as he stepped off a rooftop, ready to swing down to disarm anyone sticking a weapon out of one of the vehicles, a gunshot echoed from somewhere off to his left. One of the front tires of the SUV exploded, sending the vehicle out of control and into a parked car. The sedan behind it slammed on its brakes, just avoiding hitting the back of the SUV. It was a good bet that whoever was in the parking lot, had heard the gunshot and would see the SUV crashed into the parked car...

WASHED OUT BY SUPERCAPE! Okay, Tsunami has 15 unspent power points to work with here. 1) Going to spend 6 PP to improve some stats, +2 Str, +2 Dex and +2 Wis. 2) 1 PP to her supersense, making it Analytical. 3) 4 PP for a new "power" representing her martial arts training: Strike 3 (Feat: Mighty) [4PP] 4) 2 pp to Skills for: +1 rank to Medicine +2 ranks to Kn: Philosophy and Religion (total 8) +2 ranks to Kn: Earth Sciences +1 rank to Notice (total 7) +1 rank to Stealth (total 5) +1 rank to Survival (total 5) 5) 1 pp to Fort Save 6) 1 pp to Attack Focus: Melee (3 ranks total) Also dropped a Complication that was never used. I also made a correction to her Immunities, as Breath Underwater was left on last edit (and is now covered by total immunity to water effects), should still have been immunity to Pressure.

Giang had been craning her neck slightly to better look through the incoming crowd of arrivals when she noted Cerys standing just a short distance away. A wide smile came to the Asian teens face, as she realized that Cerys had allowed herself to be seen. She returned the hug from her friend. "I am so glad you were able to stop by for a few days Cerys." Giang said as she looked at the Welsh teen. "Mali's flight should be arriving soon as well. I trust your summer has been a good one?"

Rav, I fixed one typo in the spacecraft (you had said you were spending 800 EP on Features, not 80) But, I found some problems in your powers. Your Protection and supersense only cost 8 and 1, but you list them as 9 and 2 at the top). Also, why do you describe it as a forcefield, but it never turns off. But more seriously, your Hardsuit costs 14 pp, but you only cost it as 4 at the top, making your total powers bought lower than it should be! (with the above, you have 8 PP more powers than you total, making you 8 PP over budget)

Just that moment, Velocity's voice came over the team's League Communicators. "Just finished my pass through the town. Right now everything is pretty quiet, the heavy rain and lightning seems to have led to everyone shelter." The speedster began. "The north and south parts of the rural highway leading out of town have both been blocked off by cars and other piles of scrap metal that have been dragged onto the road. The east and west parts of the other rural highway are blocked off by seven foot high walls of solid ice. There is also a pickup with an arrow through its engine block on a dirt road leading out of town to the southwest. No sign of anyone injured by the pickup." "The Humvee is in the parking lot of what looks like the town's farmer's market, which is just at the center of town. It is in pretty bad shape, and currently empty. I spotted an injured solider in the town church, which is just northeast of the upper corner of the farmer's market. He had a briefcase handcuffed to his wrist. Local priest was doing what he could for some burns." "I spotted a guy running around through the town. He was fast, but not nearly as fast as me. He was currently moving through the houses to the southwest of the center of town. Still, might not be long before he finds the abandoned Humvee. No sign of any others, but they could just be doing a better job of hiding than the one guy."

GM "Specialist Jones sir." The soldier replied to Gabriel's first question. He then began relaying what he recalled of the attack. "When they first hit the convey on the interstate, everything just seemed to happen so quickly. Somehow Connor, our driver, managed to get us off the interstate and down to a local highway. But it was not long before they caught up with us." "Suddenly, this…big tiger guy had leapt onto the side of the Humvee and torn open the door. He grabbed ahold of me, but then suddenly this running guy slammed into the side of the Humvee, and the tiger guy and I both went tumbling out when the door tore off. The Hummer kept going, while the tiger guy and the running guy had a brief fight. Someone else appeared to get them apart, but I did not really get a good look at them, lying in the bushes as I was, barely able to move. But eventually they decided that they would see who could find the prototype first, like a contest. The others would make sure the squad never left the two, while the running guy and tiger guy hunted them down."

"Well, whatever special handling is used will be up to whomever our friend calls in to take the Sleeper into custody." Synapse replied as she jerked a thumb toward Sergeant K. "But they certainly need to do something, otherwise this will have all been for nothing. Problem will be keeping him though, who knows how many out there have been compromised by him, allowing him to control them to get him free." She then added. It might prove all but impossible to hold the Sleeper, but Dee hoped they would be able to for at least awhile. She then turned back to Foreshadow, a playful smile on her face. "After we arrange things to get K safely out of the country, I can think of a number of places with better ambiance."

Strand relaxed slightly as Lucy shifted out of her fighting stance. "A women's shelter? I think I can see about them getting a nice donation." She replied giving a small sigh. "The job stealing the statue came from a group called Crimenet. They are an organized crime group that operates up and down the East Coast, only recently getting started here in Freedom City." The costumed criminal then continued. "Several of their mooks picked up the statue to take it to the buyer. Along with them was some hired…well, I guess superpowered muscle. Guy named Ronnie Motts, goes by Machinefist, likely on account of these huge metal gauntlet things he wears. If it weren't for those things, he would seem like just any other outlaw biker thug." "I don't know who the buyer is, only that they will be meeting them in an empty warehouse in Greenbank."

No Shatterspike, this is not more balanced, instead, you have gone in exactly the opposite direction of what was discussed above. For one thing, this character is extremely min/maxed, and it was already pretty min/maxed before. You took what was already a VERY large array (as I mentioned) and made it EVEN BIGGER! There are a lot of issues I have with this massive array, but the BIGGEST is that completely works around the main limitation of an array! Arrays allow a HUGE discount in cost of the powers placed inside, because you can only use one at a time (dynamic arrays aside). You have four powers, THREE of which are Continuous in duration. That means you can, one by one, turn on the three Continuous powers, each power remaining in effect after the array is changed to another power (because they are Continuous). Thus the main limitation of an array is completely overcome. You can effectively have the three non-Continuous powers all running at the same time, while using the only non-Continuous (naturally, an offensive power) as well. I could go on about a number of things within the various alt powers as well, but there really is no point. The entire thing needs to be overhauled. My suggestion, would be to make two separate arrays. One for the Transform and Create Object powers, the other for the Damage and Illusion powers. Also, as I asked before about the Protection power, why is it Protection and not something like Force Field? That is, why is she always harder than steel?
