  1. So....not sure what is wrong with chat today (from the logs, it looks like everyone was out of it), but, until it is working once more there is this alternative! (Thanks to Supercape for remembering this!)

    Firestorm

GM Gabriel The sheriff's deputy glanced up at Gabriel at the sound of the hero's voice, initially appearing a bit surprised and in awe of speaking with a member of the Freedom League. But the man quickly seemed to overcome the initial reaction, focusing on Gabriel's question and the situation at hand. "Mind? Not at all, we could use any help we can get right now." The officer began. "As for what you can help with....a good start would be if you all have any way to help move some of these vehicles off the freeway to help clear things up more. Also, a lot of these soldiers are in pretty serious shape, so anything that could help get them to better medical care quickly could certainly help." Fleur de Joie The green haired heroine moved over to one of the more apparently injured soldiers, who had blood soaked bandages on his torso. The man was barely conscious, so she was uncertain whether he even heard her soothing words. Carefully moving the bandages aside, she saw there were several long, deep lacerations beneath that appeared to have been caused by claws. Applying her healing herbs on the wounds, she was quickly rewarded with the flow of blood from the injuries halting, then the tissue rapidly reforming as the wounds closed. The man's breathing stabilized, although he remained unconscious for the moment. She then moved on to the next injured soldier, who turned out to have an arrow wound.... Comrade Frost As the Russian vampire moved down to the scene below, his keen eyes took in the scene around him, immediately noticing a number of details about the attack on the convoy. First to fall under his scrutiny was the Humvee halfway onto the outside shoulder of the eastbound lanes, the one missing all four wheels and with the crew compartment torn open. Frost noted that the compartment had not been opened with any sort of even cuts, instead the metal and plastic of the vehicle was uneven as it came apart at different points based on some external force. He also noted that he could see no evidence of where someone might have gripped the top of the vehicle in order to pull it apart as it was. As for the removal of the vehicles wheels, he notes it was not just the wheels that were missing, but parts of the axels along with them. Examining the now smoldering Humvee that appeared to have been at the rear of the convoy, Frost noted a small hole burned in the rear armor of the vehicle, which had served to ignite parts of the vehicle within, which is what had then caused most of the fire damage before it was extinguished. The vampire noted two spent fire extinguishers on the ground near the vehicle, apparently used by civilians that had stopped after the initial attack and subsequent accidents to help. The last Humvee, the one that was in the greenspace dividing the two sides of the interstate along with a civilian truck had a massive rend along the right side of the vehicle, appearing to have been sideswiped by something, the force of which had smashed it into the civilian truck and carried both vehicles off the interstate. Frost also noted the variety of injuries the soldiers had suffered. There were arrow wounds, multiple lacerations that could have been caused by some sort of claws, sever blunt trauma, burns from the vehicle fire, and at least one that appeared to have electrical burns. His initial examination completed, Frost addressed one of the few conscious soldiers, one leaning up against the Humvee that was in the middle divider, an arrow in his right shoulder. The young man glanced up, appearing to be somewhat confused by what Frost had asked for a moment. "Germanic gods? No, nothing like that...at least I don't think so." He replied weakly. "It all happened so fast. There was some guy that was moving like a blur, who slammed into our vehicle," he nodded at the Humvee he was leaning up against, "then there was something that looked like a tiger leaping about, and someone shooting arrows, never saw where they came from. And lightning bolts coming down, and the lead Humvee just seemed to get peeled part."
  5. The cost would be on the device (not within the container), just like the restricted. Also, a few other things of note: For your Strength, Super Strength does not make your STR 30 for purposes of damage bonus. You would not list it under abilities. It gives you a STR 30 for lifting purposes, which you would note in the Super Strength power, along with the heavy load for STR 30. For your Acrobatics Skill, 6 ranks + 9 for Dex is only +15.
  6. For Blue Jay, Raveled gave her bow the feat Subtle [Collapsible], which would add 1 pp to the cost of your device. Also, you should move the normal equipment up out of the powers and place it between feats and powers.
  7. "I understand that." Megan replied, her smile evident in her voice. "Life can get really crazy at times, especially for...people like us." The blonde haired young woman became a bit more serious as Lynn continued, mentioning her possibly need of Megan's assistance as Velocity. "Yeah, I still keep in regular contact with her." She replied, not sure if she should continue speaking in the vague code Lynn was using, but opting to do so just in case. "Is there a particular reason you think her expertise would be useful?" Even as she spoke, Megan was already running through in her mind what the rest of the day had scheduled. Luckily, the day was open enough that Robert would be able to handle things if she had to be gone for an extended period of time.
  8. Well, that may be something to consider once the space PCs start getting to know one another (as right now they are individuals or smaller groups). Also, this may not end up being much of an issue.

    Extracurriculars

Tsunami had been listening to Set's explanation about why these cultists were robbing this particular bank, but was unable to react in time when Set emerged from the vault with the cobra headed staff before removing the two gems and destroying them. While she had an initial reaction similar to Gene's at the sight, the Asian teen remained a sense of calm, as she considered that there could well be much more going on that at first blush. "I have no interest in tallying favors." She replied simply. "But that staff seems an unusual object to be sitting in just any bank vault. I take it that your 'elder self' had some experience with the staff? Was it particularly dangerous? How did it end up here, and, perhaps more importantly, are there other similar objects that could be in danger in other parts of the city?"
  10. Well Rav, you actually do need that rank of Accuracy at the array level, as it gives you +10 with unarmed, though you could just move it to another rank of Attack Spec: Unarmed and everything would balance out. As for the spacecraft size, the Ebon Hawk would be Colossal (even if it fits in the lower range of that size category) so you should likely make your ship that size category as well if that was the size your shooting for.
  11. Well, I did say that a necklace would likely be hard to lose, you could have it easy to lose, which would mean there would be some more opportunities for your true self to be reveled. Another thought I had though, you say this is just a hologram to hide who/what you really are. I am not sure Morph is the right way to mimic that, as Morph involves actual changes to your appearance/height/etc. If it is just a hologram, your character would still be over seven feet tall inside the hologram, that extra height would just be hidden, which could cause her some complications as she still is really that tall (like if someone thought they were throwing a ball over her head and, SUPRISE, it actually hits her actual head a foot above what the hologram shows). Perhaps a better way to handle the hologram would be a Feature (personal hologram projector) (1PP) along with some complications for the fact it is just hiding your actual size and form, not actually changing it?
  12. Well, on the Device (or technically, multiple devices), we have put in place a house rule that modifies that part of the power from what is in the book. It is called the multiple weapon feat (like what Thunder has for Solvrytter's spear and hammer). It is mainly for when you have multiple weapons/devices that are in an array, but would likley apply where you have two devices that operate independently from each other (ie taking the bow away would not effect the hologram device, and vice versa). Another issue is a bracelet or necklace would likely be hard to lose, while the bow is easy to lose.
  13. Giang swam along after Thaelia as the Atlantean began to lead the group through Neptune City. Although the Asian teen had spent time in Atlantis itself and a few other smaller Atlantean cities, she still could not help but marvel at the beauty and wonders of this new undersea city she was visiting for the first time. She was particularly surprised by the numbers of non-Atlantean beings they passed as they made their way towards the first stop in the tour. None of the other Atlantean cities she had visited had been so diverse in its apparent population. As they stopped outside the elongated oval shaped amphitheater, Giang gave a small smile as she looked back at her friend. "So, what is this first stop? It greatly resembles the type of venue the Romans used for chariot racing."
  14. So Rav, a few things I note: First, the Base Power for the Cosmic Empowerment Array is rather underpriced. Str +12 is 12 PP, Super Strength 8 is 16 PP, +4 more PP for the four feats, equals 32 PP, not 22. Second, the Blast alt power has a small problem. You have Accurate 2 there, plus a rank of Accurate for the entire array, which gives you a total of +6 with the Blast. Add that to the BAB of +6, gives you +12, putting you 2 over caps. Third, where are the 80 EP (or 16 PP) for the spaceship coming from? For the spaceship, I do believe that special vehicles like spaceships receive Life Support for free (so that saves you 9 EP). Also, where are you going to fit the Infirmary and Living Space on this ship? It is only Gargantuan in size, which is 32-64 feet. For reference, an F-14 Tomcat is just under 63 feet long.
  15. Taking his seat and looking around, Titan noted that the main deck was starting to get a bit more crowded. Several members of the press were now up on the deck, photographers and a couple of camera crews and reporters. There were also a number of other people present whom Titan suspected to be other award recipients. Over at the next table to his right were two individuals, one a slightly heavyset woman in her early thirties in a black suit with a skirt. She had curly shoulder length brown hair and dark sunglasses on. Seated next to her was an man of about average height and weight, dressed in a comfortable suit, also sporting dark sunglasses, and with a earphone in one ear. He already had a small plate of food from the buffet in front of him which he was digging into. At the third table, to Titan's left, were another two individuals. The first was a short woman in her later forties who appeared to be of Asian descent with short black hair and wearing a bright sundress. She had a glass of champagne in one hand and was busy chatting with the other occupant of the table, a teenage girl with bright red hair wearing a black T-shirt with a band name across the front and a patchwork jean skirt. The teenager has several piercings, and tattoos on her pale arms, although there were bandages covering both forearms. She also seemed less than thrilled to be listening to whatever the older woman was talking about. Just then, Titan was approached by a man and a woman, both appearing to be in their early fifties. The man was just over six feet, and looking in pretty decent shape for his age. He had short blond hair that was turning grey and blue eyes. He was dressed in casual slacks and a collared shirt, over which he wore a sports jacket. The woman was about six inches shorter, also with greying blonde hair, which she wore in a bob, and have a very warm and sunny smile. "Hello, you must be Titan." The man said in greeting as he offered his hand to the metal clad hero. "I'am Knute Smith, one of the sponsors, and this is my wife, Karen. Congratulations."
  16. North Bay Megan Howell was just finishing stretching in the dance studio she had installed in the mansion she and Robert had purchased shortly after their return from the Null Time with Lawrence. It was almost identical to the one her parents had installed for her in their home when she was growing up, if slightly larger. The room was sound proofed, with a all wood floor and full length mirrors along three of the four walls. Two of the walls had permanent barre in place at about waist height, which Megan currently had one foot resting on as she stretched. With Lawrence currently in his room, either building something with Legos or reading, and Robert busy in his study, Megan had some time before lunch in which to get some dancing in. She had just finished stretching and was about to start the shuffle for the sound system that drew the database of songs she had collected over the years when she heard her smartphone ring. Letting out a small sigh, the blonde haired young woman moved in a blur too fast for most to follow. Reaching her phone, which sat on a small table along the back, windowless wall, she glanced at the screen, only to be surprised by the identified caller. "Hi Lynn!" She said in greeting as she picked up and heard a voice she had not heard in over three years. "It has been a long time! How are you?"
  17. Yeah, not a stellar roll for Synapse's Sense Motive, a 17.
  18. So, just to be clear, Synapse is using her standard action to be ready to use her telepathy to counter any mental attack from the Sleeper.
  19. So, I am still working on my future Space character, but figured I would mention some stuff now, particularly if anyone might be interested in joining in with what I am considering. What I have thus far is a paragonish alien character that was part of an organization akin to the Shi'ar Imperial Guard (or if you prefer the Legion of Superheroes) in a space empire that existed one thousand (or possibly more) years ago. After an event that broke apart this space empire (leaning towards a civil war right now), the surviving members of the not!Shi'ar Imperial Guard were captured by the Curator and put in suspended animation on his ringworld in deep space, which is where they currently lie today....
  20. Synapse met Doctor Zero's gaze unblinking, the mask of her costume at least providing her some alight anonymity, although she certainly did not put it past the doctor to be able to figure out who she might be. "Not unless we find you first." She commented coolly, realizing she had little chance of catching up with him as he took off up the stairs at great speed. Instead, the Englishwoman turned and walked back towards the center of the room, moving to the medical bed that was located there. "So, you are the Sleeper I take it?" She said as she moved up near the bed, trying to use her powers to shield her mind as she did so....
  21. Yeah, I thought that might be the case Goose (both with what you were going on for the Improved Range and increasing your visual range). At Extended 2 (1,000 foot increments), you would really only be looking at -4/-5 for about a mile out, which is pretty darn good all things considered. Sadly there is no in between.
  22. "Well, we are in the holding pattern, waiting for permission to land." Velocity reported as she glanced back at the other occupants in the Pegasus. Normally the speedster did not travel by the League's Pegasus planes, seeing that as fast as they were, she was able to easily out distance them running. But given that this mission included others, among them civilians without the ability to run or fly faster than the speed of sound, and the issue of having to wait for permission to arrive on Valaza, it had been necessary for her to be aboard. And in any event, she was the only League member present who had been trained on piloting the space planes. Even as she appeared to focus back on the controls and airspace in front of her, Velocity was still able to keep tabs on the others, thanks to her goggles. Mainly she was focused on Triakosia. As a member of the League, Velocity had learned about the woman's arrival, and knew of the League's concerns that she could be some sort of duplicate like the Alpha Centurion. So far, there had been no indication that such was the case, that still did not mean Velocity was not going to keep an eye open, just in case.
  23. Also, looking at the supersense, Extended Range 3 for Vision gives you 10,000 foot range increments, which means you can see out almost 2 miles before you suffer a -1 penalty for Visual Notice checks, 20,000 feet before you only suffer a -2! You can probably afford to dial that back to 2 ranks (1,000 foot increments). (Personally, I find it a bit problematic when a character is able to easily see what is going on across the city, problems with the curve of the Earth starting to block sight not withstanding).
  24. TAG! (So...I guess Velocity is flying the Pegasus, as she is the only one with the Pilot skill )
  25. Are you looking in UP? (Again I do not have my books handy, but I know I have looked this up before and found what I discuss above).
