The valet certainly seemed in awe of the opportunity to drive (however briefly) the high performance supercar as he managed to catch the keys and moved to take Amir's place in the driver's seat. As with all the other arrivals, the press moved in for pictures and questions, but this was hardly anything new to Amir, and he easily fired off short answers and posed for a few pictures before moving on. He was quickly met by a smiling Andy Topple and his wife. "Amir! Always one to make a grand entrance!" Topple said as he extended his hand.

Velocity had arrived in just about the amount of time she had said it would take her to get back to Freedom City. Thankfully she did not have to wait too long before the rest of the team that would be responding to the call had gathered and Gabriel began going over what they currently knew about the situation. The speedster glanced at the maps of the area and the town as Gabriel suggested an initial plan of action. "Yeah, that town is pretty small, unless I come across someone in immediate danger, I can be there and cover it in time to meet the rest of you at the ambush site as you start to work there." She stated.

I believe the League's teleport system is only between Freedom Hall and the Lighthouse, as well as some "embassies" set up in major cities around the world.

So, as mentioned in PM, Velocity is shifting her array to the Maxium Velocity setting, boosting her Quickness way up, so she can make several Take 20 Notice checks all around her as free actions to look for traces of any invisible gorillas (looking for dust being kicked up, grass showing signs of someone stepping on it, etc). Taking 20 gives her a 30 on the Notice checks, and she has no penalties until 100' out thanks to her goggles.

As he exited the limousine, Tyrone found the press there waiting for him, reporters calling out some questions as flashbulbs went off on cameras. He only had to weather the "storm" for a few minutes before his host appeared to greet him alongside his lovely wife. "So very great to meet you Dr. Mendoza." Andrew Topple stated as they shook hands, stopping briefly to pause for a picture before introducing his wife, Diana and exchanging some other pleasantries. "Hate to cut this short, but we will have plenty of time to talk later, I look forward to hearing more about the wonderful work your clinic is doing." Topple stated as another guest arrived and he and his wife moved on to greet the newcomer. Tyrone then found himself face to face with a rather fit looking man in his later forties wearing a blue uniform that clearly marked him as the captain for Topple's yacht. "Good afternoon Dr. Mendoza, Captain Fletcher." He stated while shaking Tyrone's hand.

Thanks TA, I will PM you what Asad knows in addition to the above. Also, the rest of you are welcome to arrive anytime you wish! (Topple and his wife will come over to great each of you as you arrive, after some initial attention from the press)

Okay, back to our initiative order.... Tiff, Strand is on a rooftop not too far from where Rev is. With her current stunted leaping, she can easly reach the villainess in a move action. 26 Revenant (unharmed, 1 HP) 24 Harry (unharmed) 19 Bloody Mess (unharmed, 3 HP) 6 Strand (bruised)
-
Freddy launched himself, well, his congealed blood body anyway, out into the air after Strand, slamming solidly into the villainess. While Strand managed to twist with the impact to avoid serious harm, it still altered the course of her trajectory, sending her spinning off to one side as she continued to fall. Freddy also found himself now falling towards the street below, just as he saw Harry round the corner in the Chevvy. Strand meanwhile managed spot a nearby building as she spun though the air, before sending a thick strand of her brown hair shot out to grab the edge its rooftop. The hair then contracted, pulling the villainess towards the rooftop and catapulting her over the side as she flipped over and landed on her feet as she skid to a halt on the rooftop as she fully reoriented herself.

As Titan moved past the host and hostess, he saw the captain of the yacht moving to greet him, only to be intercepted by a reporter who had a question for the man, allowing the metal hero to continue on past to the gangplank. The gangplank creaked somewhat ominously, but seemed sturdy enough to handle Titan's weight. But once at the top, he was unable to avoid the woman with the clipboard. Now that he was up on the main deck, Titan could see several tables and chairs that had been set up on towards the aft of the vessel. Several waiters in white uniforms were moving about, making some finishing touches to the set up. The brunette with the clipboard greeted Titan with a warm smile. "Welcome aboard, you must be Titan." She stated as she checked something off on her clipboard. "I am first officer Valerie Stevens. Just to be sure there is no confusion, we have a name tag for you." She stated, as she handed Titan a plastic covered name tag with a clip on the back. "Can I have a drink brought for you? We have several bottles of chilled champagne, as well as a number of non-alcoholic fruit drinks and bottled water." Valerie continues, before she asks if there were any food allergies or special requirements (vegetarian, vegan, etc) that she should alert the kitchen to. She also gave directions to the lounge and bathrooms and explained where flotation devices were located should there be any emergency. Titan was then free to mingle while the other guests were arriving, moving over near the man in the armor. The armored figure turned his head, the mirrored visor reflecting Titan’s own image back at him, as he gave a small nod. "Good afternoon."

Okay, sorry for the delay, here are what Graft and Riff were able to learn/know about things (Riff’s Kn: Current Events capped out at 15 as he was using it untrained, putting him on relatively equal footing to Graft’s 19 for Gather Into) Andrew Topple: From all accounts, a self-made man, his company, Topple Enterprises, having started as a real estate company and has since grown to include a number of real estate firms, a few security and custodial firms and has recently begun expanding into medical technology and the energy sector. Knute Smith: CEO of Forge Motors, his company specializes high end cars and motorcycles, as well as custom kit cars and motorcycles. While his company is still going strong, Smith has recently begun focusing on numerous charity projects to give back to the community. You two can review Asad’s rep block to see what you know about him (that you might not already know). Same for Titan. The other award recipients are: Deborah Magson: who is receiving the Everyday Hero prize for her company, Steamwhistle Limited, an online whistleblower website. Jessi Nelson: also receiving an Everyday Hero prize, Jessi is a sixteen year old homeless girl (her parents dying in a fire three years ago) who rescued a family of six from another house fire just a little over a month ago. She helped the parents get clear, then climbed up to the second floor of the house with a garden hose to help the four children escape as well. Now under the custody of the Division of Youth and Family Services, she will be going into the foster home system. The cash prize connected with her award will be placed into a college trust fund for her. Mariam Koy: who is receiving a life sciences prize for her “Sudden Stop†anti-intoxication treatement. Nadiya Schmidt: who is receiving the invention prize for her Chameleon Bikini. Robert Cross: the author receiving the literature prize for his book, “Beyond Human.†(Graft: I will give you a little more info, given Graft is an MD. Cross’ book is a study on metahumans and stakes a position that humanity is at risk from the variety of enhanced and mutated humans that exist. This is done primarily through the examination of the possibility of a virus or other disease infecting a metahuman and possibly mutating or adapting to take on some of the metahuman characteristics of the host and then getting released back into the normal human population. It also discusses possible consequences of bioengineering and other testing being done to try to develop metahumans.)

Well Avo, that Sense Motive roll won't glean you anything more than what I already posted (and there is really nothing about Diana that the Notice check could revel). But, so the Notice roll is not wasted, there are some things that you do spot past the couple. Just behind them is fit looking man in his late forties, wearing a blue uniform. The yellow bars on his shoulder boards and the white cap on his head makes you certain he is likely the captain of Topple's yacht. A rather heavy duty gang plank leads up to the upper deck of the yacht, and waiting at the top is a brunette woman in her mid-thirties, wearing a uniform similar to the captain's, a clipboard in hand. A short distance to the right of the woman at the top of the gang plank, standing up next to the railing and looking down at the scene below is a figure wearing what appears to be a red and chrome suit of powered armor.

After the feast, Giang said good night to their hosts and then made her way back to the platform where she and her fellow students would be sleeping that evening. After saying good night to her classmates, Giang made her way into the hut on the platform in which she was sleeping and began getting ready for bed. ----------------------------------------------------------- The following morning, Giang was up just before dawn as was her habit, spending a bit of time meditating before she dressed and made her way out to the center of the platform. Using her powers, the Asian teen formed a bo staff of solid water, as she proceeded to perform several kata utilizing the weapon. She did her best to stay quiet, so as not to disturb the others, as she gracefully executed movements that seemed to flow like water.

Titan found himself beset by a number of reporters, most local, but a few national as well, at least a few appearing to be visibly humored by the transportation in which he had arrived. But they kept things professional in their questions, even as the sheer volume of them was a bit dizzying. Thankfully he did not have to deal with their questioning for too long before the reporters began to make room for a figure that approached the metal hero from the direction of the yacht. "And you must be Titan!" The man said in a clear voice, a somewhat calculating smile on his face. "Andy Topple, welcome, welcome! A great pleasure to meet you." Andrew Topple extended a hand to the hero as he came to a halt a few feet away. He appeared to be in his early forties, about average height and weight, with dark blond hair that appeared to be just a bit "wooden." He was dressed in what could be called "business casual," although Titan could tell that his outfit probably cost far more than the average America family made in a month (or several months for that matter). Beside Topple was a beautiful woman in her early to mid-thirties, with long blonde hair and wearing a very form fitting silver dress that went down to just above her knees. "May I introduce my wife, Diana Reese-Topple." Diana gave Titan a wide smile at the introduction, although it seemed ever so slightly lacking in warmth. "Charmed." She added in a silky voice.

Okay, posted for Velocity, she shall be back at Freedom Hall very shortly. KD, for NPCs, we can say Gabe gets in touch with Deadalus who is up on the Lighthouse. We'll say Captain Thunder and Lady Liberty are both unavailable, there is another team of Leagues off on some other mission, and while there are a few other League members up on the Lighthouse, Deadalus wants to keep them in reserve for the moment. So you can cover that in your next post.

Derbyshire, England Megan Howell leaned up against her fiance, Robert Harrow, as they finally began a movie in the media room of Robert's family home in the English countryside. The couple were currently spending a little over a month back in England with their six year old son, Lawrence, a chance for Lawrence to connect some with his father's family and for Robert to more directly address some family business. Lawrence had gotten to bed a couple hours ago, but they had been delayed in starting the movie as Robert had needed to finish up a scientific paper he was submitting. But now that was done, and it was just the two of them.... And then Megan's Freedom League communicator began beeping. "Darn it." Megan muttered, as she sat up and leaned over to pick up the communicator, replaying the message Gabriel had just sent out. The young woman looked over apologetically to Robert. "It looks like we are going to have to wait till tomorrow night to watch this. I have to go." She gave him a quick kiss, and then was gone in a blur of movement. Barely a second later, Megan was back beside the sofa, now dressed in her costume as Velocity. "Gabriel, this is Velocity, I am on the way. Should only take me about thirty seconds to get back across the Atlantic." The speedster replied into her communicator, the message relayed up to the Lighthouse and back down to Freedom Hall. She gave Robert a small smile. "Hopefully whatever this is, it won't take too long. But your choice if you want to wait up." She gave Robert another quick kiss, and was then gone in a blur of yellow.

Velocity quickly zeroed in on the upper floor window that had been blown out and had smoke billowing forth. Yeah, that figures. She thought to herself at the unlikely coincidence that there would be an isolated explosion at the location she had uncovered at the scene of the other incident. More likely than not, the explosion had been designed to eliminate any evidence that could help track whomever was behind all this, but she still had to investigate, just to be sure. In a blur of motion, the speedster was running up the side of the building towards the blasted out window. Once she reached that floor, she quickly vibrated the molecules of her body, rendering her intangible, allowing her to pass through the wall and into the room beyond, where she immediately began scanning the area.

Dee looked at the massive door, somewhat amused it was so conveniently labeled. Although it was likely that when this place was really active, it was under heavy guard and the locals were too scared of it to want to try to know what was going on inside. "There are voices coming from the other side." She whispered back to Erick as she moved over to the door to see what she could do to open it quietly. She did not think she would have too much trouble with the lock, she was just a bit concerned about how quietly the door might open. Still, they were not going to accomplish very much if they stayed out here while who knows what was going on in the room beyond, so the Englishwoman took out her improvised tools and set to work....
