  1. Whatever interest the security guards had in looking for Harry, the sudden departure of the Battle Brothers seemed to have overcome it. The pair quickly called back to the security office, trying to figure out what was going. Harry's keen canine hearing could hear the panicked response of what sounded like a young man on the other end, who said that he could not reach anyone downstairs any longer, which seemed to happen only a few minutes after he had spotted a costumed woman enter the stairwell down. The two guards glanced at each other a moment, and then in silent agreement holstered their weapons and quickly began to make their way out of the factory. This left Harry all alone once more. Down in the underground levels, Freddy, Lucy, Crimson Tiger and Diaz made their way down the hallway and back up the stairwell. It took only a minute or so to reach the underground garage where the vans had dropped Freddy, Lucy and Harry off earlier. Much of the area outside the stairs was still pitch black, as a result of Crimson Tiger cutting the power to the lights. But down one end, they could see a fait bit of light coming down from the ramp back up to the surface...
  2. Okay, Dee is past the point of being polite, time to dive into the mind of the pumped up athlete, she gets a 25 on her power check for Telepathy.
  3. Dee was dressed warmly, with a winter coat and gloves as she stood in the staging area with her brother. She had originally planned to be out along the course to watch the event, but after the events of last night, she had agreed to Edward's offer to get her back into the staging area before his event. The young Englishwoman had kept one careful eye on the scene around them as she helped her brother with last minute adjustments and such. When he pointed out the Russian competitor for the event, Dee fixed her gaze on the man, deciding to see if she could learn a bit more about what was going on here, as she reached out towards the man's mind, looking to plunge deep into his thoughts...

Also, for Teleport, Accurate is an Extra, not a feat.

    DEVA

Inner strength still sounds more like Wisdom/Willpower, but not a big deal, the issue is her stats are too low. My point about how cheap it is to just raise the base saves still stands. As for Babel, no, it is currently at 20 features (you have both types of holding cells, which counts as two, you have improved Security, which counts as two, you also have both types of teleport, which counts as two, and again, makes it mobile and not really a headquarters). The rank was not the issue, the issue is you get a very large discount in making powers a feature for a headquarters, which is offset by the headquarters being stationary. By making it mobile, it is now a vehicle, and powers a much more expensive in vehicles, for the very reason they can move around and are more likely to be in a scene than a stationary headquarters. There is nothing wrong with permanent create object.

Well, if she is not a combat unit, why does she have Enhanced Reflex vs Area Effects and Evasion? Regardless, I feel the stats are just too low, I believe other Refs are likely to take the same view. Also, why would Charisma be so high after resisting DEVA? I would think that would improve Wisdom and willpower? Based on her background I would think if anything would be low, it would be Charisma, as she is not very adept at interacting with people. For the Babel: well, leaving the teleport for the "headquarters" itself is still making it mobile (and also counts as two features not one). It could have the teleport system for others, not itself, and remain a headquarters, that would bringing it in line with 19 features. Powers: Your right on Regeneration, forgot that part (don't really do a lot with Constructs personally). I have to say that I am rather leery of the limited situation increases to both the Will and Reflex saves. They are 1 pp to improve, I would say just boost the stat completely rather than trying to do so only in limited situations. (Also, per our house rules, Defensive Roll no longer helps with Reflex saves). Mana Convergence: I do not like perception based TK 'crush' either, and I completely understand why it is only Rank 10. This still does not quite explain why she never misses. If you were trying to say "implode" the air around a speedster, how is she able to always perfectly time that when the speedster say is moving so fast? Why no chance of imploding the air only to have the speedster already have moved away from the effect? (or any other high defense shifted character) For the Charged Particle Cannon, still do not see why it needs to be invisible, but I suppose that is your choice. For the Mana Booster, need to note that the Super Strength has its duration reduced. Also, you realize that the damage aura limits the usefulness of the Super Strength, if she tries to pick up anything, say to help people, she will be potentially destroying/damaging that object or person. The Create Object is still a bit problematic as you are creating things that do not go away (and you cannot make them go away either). (and your right about the subtle, forgot that distinction)

    DEVA

Okay, as promised Seiryoko, some comments for DEVA: One small thing first, having just previously fought (or even just knowing) the Freedom League is not really what is meant by an affiliation. She is affiliated With Claremont, because she goes there. So, starting with the crunch elements of the character. Why are her Stats all so low? I understand she was a teenager, but she has been upgraded as an artificial person, would not that include increases in strength and dexterity at the very least? We also have a number of teenage characters that are not so low in their overall stats. I personally would really rather see more in the way of stats (at the very least baseline 10 in most of them). Tied to that are you Exotic saves (Reflex and Will), they are really, really low, much lower than we typically suggest. In the Combat Block, you have a grapple +3 (you forgot to include your BAB), currently up to +13 when you use the Suprestrength alt power. Feats are generally okay, but I question why she has Evasion? She is not particularly agile, not to mention her current Reflex save really makes this feat less useful. Also, I would really recommend NOT having all your Toughness come from Defensive Roll, as she is very easy to feint, thus losing ALL her toughness and the majority of her Defense. The DEVA Babel "headquarters" Well, there are some issues here. First, I count 20 features, not 19, but this is likely somewhat moot by the bigger issue. By making the Babel mobile, is not really a headquarters any longer (as headquarters are supposed to be in a fixed location, even if that location is orbiting the planet), instead it is a vehicle. I would be okay with you buying the various headquarters features for the vehicle, EXCEPT the powers, as those are priced differently in a vehicle, especially for those that move the vehicle. So, this will have to be reworked in some fashion, either buying it as a vehicle, or removing its mobility. Powers: Again, some issues here. For the Regeneration, you do not really need more than +9 on the Recovery Bonus, as that will allow you to automatically make any recovery checks (as the DC is only 10). Also, while we have not prevented no action regen, I would caution you about it. I personally as a GM find it rather annoying, particularly for constructs. So, the Array....as KD states, it is rather beefy. First: Mana Convergence: so, this is really a question not something that "has" to be changed, but why is it perception ranged? That is, why does she never miss with it? I personally am not a big fan of this type of perception based attack, but other refs would be willing to accept it. (Also, it makes your attack/damage tradeoff more complex than what you have listed). The Charged Particle Cannon: So, why exactly is this attack Subtle? (Also, one rank of Subtle does not make it invisible, just hard to notice (DC 20 Notice check to spot). Also, I would caution against having it only Lethal, we heavily lean away from PCs killing opponents. Mana Booster: You do not have enough points in the array for this slot as you have it written. The Super Strength 10 with Bracing costs 21 pp, leaving on 9 left for the Damage Aura. You have seriously mispriced the Damage Aura, as it is a +1 Advantage, BUT you have to increase the duration of the damage power to Sustained (a +2 increase in the base cost of the power). So, even with the Limit: Lethal, it costs 3 pp per rank! Mana Phaser: The utility of this power is rather limited, as it is not Accurate, which means you either have to be very familiar with the destination or be able to accurately perceive it. Which means that long range teleports will be limited to destinations you can actually see. Object Materialization: What does the Progression 7 do? (I assume the size of the objects? If so, that might be a bit TOO much progression). Particularly as by making them Permanent, you cannot dismiss them (as you do not have the Reversible feat). Also, why exactly are these subtle? (again noting that does not mean they cannot be seen at all with only 1 rank). Accelerate Mind: Not sure I am too keen on this alternate power. Why exactly does her intelligence get such a huge boost when in Cyberspace?
  8. Good for me.
  9. That sounds good to me Cape. And yeah Ari, I can understand some not getting along, just calling it a "rivalry" did not seem right.

    DEVA

Okay, to help with other comments I might make, I just want to confirm her nature, is she a true construct now, or just cybernetic? As was mentioned in chat, if she is a true construct, she would have no Con score (giving you a full 10 points back for eliminating that). Also, please find another image for the character.

Moved this over to character building like I mentioned in chat. I will work on some comments soon.
  12. Ari, there is no need to work around anything, I took a look, Gallia Renaitre is set in April 2013, Searching for Vanguard was in August, 2013, so there is three months between the two, which fits the time table of Vanguard’s disappearance just fine. As for a rivalry, not sure that makes sense between Osprey and Synapse, as they are very different (with Osprey being more physical, while Synapse is far more about the mind). Maybe not seeing eye to eye much because of very different social views.
  13. Well, here are some of my thoughts: 1) Most of that has to do with other PCs and their elements in the relationship map, so more for them to address (though Roo seems to have some good ideas on how to start things). As for Blackpool having possibly been part of the experiments performed on Dee and Susan, I was sort of thinking he had very little to do with that. As for him being a possible source of a way to cure Susan, that could be an idea, but perhaps something to develop later rather than sooner? 2. Again, all of this mainly has to do with other PCs and their parts of the relationship map. 3. Well, some connection between Lucy and Susan could be interesting, something we can think about later down the road? Hmm, if we go with Roo's suggestion on how to start with number 1, then perhaps while Jasmine and Osprey are doing that, Dee and YB could be out either looking for Y Dweren (no 2) or Lucy (no 3). After all, our purpose is to try to find out what happened to the older members of Vanguard, and both of those are the ones YB had a connection with. Having them look for Y Dweren could especially work well if we wanted to go with him maybe wanting to destroy the Osprey formula (and those involved with it) as suggested, as that would tie it to what Jasmine and Osprey are doing.
  14. "Something like that." Crater said to Georgia with a small smile. "What kind of hosts would be if we allowed something the happen to one of our guests within the first minute of being here?" He remained close to the teen as they slowly drifted back down the platform where the others were waiting. Rulana did not seem overly bothered by Georgia's sudden departure and spoke briefly with some of the others while Georgia and Crater were still up in the air before excusing herself and leaving the group with Chase. Once Georgia and Crater had rejoined the group, Chase started them off along one of the walkways that connected the buildings inside the crater. "First we will stop by the quarters you all will be using over the weekend and then we can start the tour."
  15. Giang had listened quietly to the captain of the cruise ship as he explained what had happened. She recognized Temperance, having worked with the other teen before, but had never met the large creature that introduced itself as Wave-Eye. But the teenager had been involved in enough strange things since she had come to Freedom City that Wave-Eye's somewhat fearsome appearance did not faze her calm demeanor. "I am called Tsunami." She replied to Wave-Eye. "But I am afraid I have no senses that will assist in detecting spirits or ghosts, and very little in the way of abilities that could interact with them either."
  16. I think we are at a good point for a cut-scene Cape.
  17. Well, I thought it was decided as well, until Tiff's most recent post where she had YB mention going to "get Cruxberry off our backs," which is why I asked what the plan was now.
  18. I am good for moving ahead (though what did we decide regarding the prior Ministry team that has been cyborgized?) As for the Haven, I currently have 9 unspent equipment/minon/etc points from my last player award that can be chipped in for the base (and likely some for VERA as well).
  19. Right now it would be pretty easy for Lucy to keep up with her with the stunted leaping. The running would be a bit harder, but not too bad if she used some leaps as well.
  20. Happy Birthday Moria and JP! :toot:
  21. Okay, sorry I didn't note this before, but we are back to Lucy.
  22. "Farsider technology is more advanced than ours on Earth." Chase began in reply. "When my great aunt sized control decades ago, she used that technology to conceal the city from our spacecraft and other sensors. The Council has felt that for the time being it was best to keep Farside City something of a secret, although a number of major Earth governments have still know about it for some time." When Georgia tested out the gravity in the city, Chase and the two Farsiders present watched her arch high into the air. Crater gave a small chuckle as he put on his helmet. "I'll go make sure she's okay and doesn't come down too hard on one of the platforms." He replied before he soared up into the air after the teenager. Chase looked back at the other teens. "Well, I was just about to say that while Farside City has artificial gravity generators, it's gravity is still a bit lower than Earth's. So you might want to be careful until you are more accustomed to it."
  23. Harry went tearing off down the street, trying to make for the nearest southbound onramp he could think of, the Chevy making good time initially as it wound through little used side streets under the bridge, but he soon hit busier streets, and was having to weave in and out of traffic as he sped along. Up on the support arch for the bridge, the supervillainess did not have time to respond to Lucy's sudden arrival and attempt to grab her when Bloody Mess arrived, bowling into and knocking her off balance. The costumed criminal was knocked off the narrow beam of steel, and out into open air as she began to fall towards the freeway below. But she had only fallen a couple dozen feet when another long strand of her hair extended out to grab ahold of the other support arch, swinging the supervillainess out over the multiple lanes of traffic still dozens of feet below. She swung through some of the thick cables connecting the arch to the bridge below and out into open space beyond. The strand of hair released its hold on the support arch and the villainess flipped in the air as her momentum carried her further away from the bridge and out towards the streets of the Fens below...
  24. "I don't really know who ran this, I think it was someone the mobsters in the cheap suits worked for. Like the clients that watched the fights via remote broadcast, whoever was behind this did not like getting their hands dirty by actually showing up around here." Diaz responded with a small apologetic shrug as the group started towards the stairs back up to the surface. Upstairs, Harry had been moving through the factory floor towards the nearest exit when suddenly the lights had come on in the factory and a pair of security guards stepped out in the path between him and the exit. "Hold it right there!" They called out, their firearms out and at the ready. But just then there was a loud crash, as the Battle Brothers came smashing up through the concrete floor of the factory. The blond Battle Brother still had the unconscious one over one shoulder. He barely even took a glance around before he was leaping again, easily smashing through the ceiling of the factory and disappearing into the darkness. The two security guards had taken their eyes off Harry and watched as the Battle Brothers made their break for freedom. "That can't be good"" One of the pair commented.
  25. While the music had been playing, Dee had generally paid little mind to those she noticed looking her way. The attractive Englishwoman was not unaccustomed to drawing some attention when she went out. Tonight she had not really come with the intention of searching out any company (either at the club or for a hookup), but when there was a break in the music while the guest DJ came out and one of the guy's decided to approach her, she decided she might as well acknowledge him. "Yes, all on my own tonight." She replied, able to speak at a more normal tone for the moment, which meant her refined British accent was easily noticeable. "Are you offering to keep me company a bit?"
