  1. Well Tsunami has neither, and those are not really her areas of expertise, so I will just pass on even attempting untrained rolls.
  2. Luckily Edward was focused on locating the number for the British security detail as Dee smirked slightly as Foreshodow mentioned her being "good light reading" and started to ask about one incident that the tabloids had embellished on a fair bit. But she did not respond to those mental comments, instead focusing on the rest of what he had to "say." And here I thought masks were fashion statements in Freedom City. The young mentalist responded telepathically. But it just so happens that I have taken to wearing a mask myself of late. When I am not out being the subject of tabloid stories that likely make my mother cringe, I am Synapse from the new Vanguard.
  3. So, Roo asked what the gravity was like in Farside City in chat, the answer is just a bit below Earth's 1G, so while in the city, everyone is considered to have a rank of leaping (or gets to add a rank to what they might already have).
  4. With no further questions and the group all gathered around, Chase looked down at the small blue monkey. "Okay Cosmo, you know where we are going." Cosmo gave a small screech in reply and then there was a flash of light that enveloped the entire group. It only took a moment for everyone's eyes to readjust, and when they did, the teens found that they were no longer in the brightly lit reception area of the Nucleus, but instead standing in the middle of what appeared to be a small plaza situated high in the air on a platform alongside a thin, towering building. Around them other thin buildings rose up into the air, and as their eyes adjusted further to the dimmer lighting, the gathered Claremont students realized the buildings were built along sheer rocky cliff walls that continued upward even further until they eventually ended in the blackness of space. There were soaring walkways here and there, connecting various buildings, and a few flying carlike vehicles that glided along among the open spaces. Below the platform they were on, the city continued downward, getting more crowded with walkways and connected platforms as it went. After giving the teens a few moments to acclimate to their sudden change in location and take in the sight of the city around them, Chase spoke up once more. "Welcome to Farside City." Glancing over toward him, Cosmo was back up on his shoulder, and the five teens realized for the first time that there were two other individuals standing nearby in the plaza, having moved a bit closer now. Both were tall with thin builds, an elderly woman wearing long white and red robes standing just under six feet tall, and a young man wearing golden armor, a helmet cradled under one arm, who was a few inches taller than six feet. Both had red eyes and silvery hair. "Allow me to introduce some of your hosts," Chase continued, "Rulana, a member of the Farside Council," Chase indicated the elderly woman, "and Samot, Farside City's first homegrown superhero, Crater, who also happens to be a Claremont alumni," he finished indicating the young man in the golden armor. Rulana stepped forward, giving a slight bow to the group, her expression a little formal. "Greetings young heroes of Earth, welcome indeed. We hope your visit to our city will be both memorable as well as enlightening." Crater remained back for the moment, allowing the council representative to address the group, but he had a warm smile on his face as he gave them a nod in greeting.
  5. Happy Birthday Giz! :toot:
  6. GM Zandar looked over at Gene and Juno as they both talked about wanting to pet dinosaurs, a small smile on his face. "I admire you enthusiasm, but in this case, that is a mother and her young. Trying to approach either would be ill advised, unless you wish to have firsthand experience with trying to avoid those deadly spikes on her tail." He replied. "So it is best if we remain up here and observe. We have some small domesticated dinosaurs that can be pet, or perhaps another opportunity will arise to approach some of the plant eaters where there they are less likely to act hostile." He stated, before focusing on Juno to add, "and as for sabertooths, we may have an opportunity to see some, but they are not an easy thing to approach, but we will see." The jungle lord then turned to Cho, his smile still very much in place as he replied to the somewhat flustered teen. "Fair questions. There are a good number of places we could visit during your stay, far more than we could hope to include in such a short visit. But we will try to visit as many as possible. As for where you will be staying, at least tonight you will be guests of one of the jungle tribes that look to me for leadership." Zandar allowed the group to observe the watering dinosaurs a bit longer, which allowed the teens to rest a bit and drink some water themselves. Then he started off once more, leading the group once more along the soaring walkways and rope bridges as they headed deeper into the jungle.
  7. Cape, I would point out that Carmen's comments about a séance are a bit melodramatic at this point, as there was already one séance earlier in the thread where Nick summoned some dead relatives of the family (and learned that he was unable to summon the spirits of relatives killed by the curse).
  8. Happy birthday KnightDisciple!
  9. Dee Farrington was already out on the crowded dance floor of the Wall, enjoying her first trip to Freedom City. The young Englishwoman had on a black leather skirt and a tight read top that was just short enough to regularly provide glimpses of the tattoo on her lower back as she danced. Her shoulder length hair was loose, a couple of streaks of blue contrasting the other black locks. It was good to get out and just enjoy herself some, her life having become all the more complex since last summer when she had become part of the new Taskforce UK, or as the papers referred to them, the Vanguard. While there were any number of clubs she could have gone to back in London, Angus, one of her teammates, had often mentioned places in Freedom City. So Dee had taken advantage of the transport system between the Vanguard's headquarters in London and Freedom City to come over and see for herself.
  10. Velocity Tsunami (2) (2) Synapse (8) (2) (4) (2) GM (8) (2) (3) (2) (1) So, GM posts and Ref point to Velocity initially for award tracking please, then rollover GM posts to Synapse and Ref point to Tsunami.
  11. Giang Trang sliced through the ocean waters, the cold morning water not bothering the teenager in the least. A short while ago she had been getting ready for her morning classes, when a call had come in from the Coast Guard requesting her assistance, the authorities having gotten the number of a cell phone she used as Tsunami back in the summer when she had been one of several heroes to respond to an incident near Lonely Point. After having a quick word with Headmaster Summer, the Asian teen had gotten permission for her and her roommate to go and offer what assistance they could. So now both she and Thealia were speeding through the waves, headed for the distressed cruise ship.
  12. Well, she fails her Acrobatics check against the trip with a 23, which means she is tripped, and falling off the arch.
  13. So, Harry is up, then Mess!
  14. Dee hard hardly expected her brother to confirm that he had made any ill advised bets with members of the Russian underworld, so was not surprised at his response to what had been some teasing on her part. The evidence before them certainly supported Edward's view that something was amiss with some, or all, of the Russian team for these Olympics. "Edward, you should probably get on the phone with the head of security for the British team and inform them of this attempted assault so they can get up here and collect this guy." The young woman stated to her brother. Mean while, she continued the more private conversation with Foreshadow. Well, I know my way around chemical formulas, but I am hardly an expert. What I could potentially more helpful with is "questioning" this Bronski, and I do not even need to speak to him. One possible problem however is the local security forces have me under surveillance, seems they follow too many British tabloids and it has them worried.
  15. Okay, Lucy gets up there and retains her footing, but her attack misses Strand.
  16. No need to roll, I will just apply Miss G's Str to the snare, it gets a 24 on its toughness save, so picks up a second injury.
  17. So, while waiting for an IC post for Blode, could I get another DC 20 Fort save for Crow Quinn?
  18. "Thugee, of course." Dee muttered quietly as Captain Singh explained about the rail line they were trying to build and his theory on who could be behind the sabotage attempts. Then he added another of his patronizing comments about her "delicate nature," and this time Dee felt her irritation getting the better of her. "Well Captain, I am sure most of your Empire has heard of this wonderful line, but we most assuredly have not. As I mentioned when we first appeared, before that explosion, we had all be in Dover, but there is more to it than just that." The young Englishwoman began. "I was helping to investigate what had seemed to be an explosion in the channel tunnel, and we picked up some very unusual readings, ones that suggested the explosion, and another that followed it, were somehow forming a bridge, passing from here, your world, to Dover, over in our world," she indicated Ulysses and herself. "Then there was a third explosion, that brought us and the other gentleman over into your world." "I know it may seem hard to believe Captain, but we are from another dimension, similar, but with a number of differences. For one, there is no longer British Empire where we are from, and India gained its independence in 1947. The American Colonies gained independence almost two hundred and forty years ago." "If I am to have any hope of figuring out a way to get myself and these other two gentlemen home to where we belong, I am going to have to follow up on the one lead I have in that regard, the attempted sabotage of your great continental line. So it appears as if we have some common interest. And as an aside, while a majority of the women here might be shrinking violets or delicate china dolls, though I rather doubt that, were I am from we are, to continue with a theme, more independent, so while I suspect you somehow mean well, I personally find your comments about my delicate constitution or fragile nature insulting." "So, if we understand each other better now, we should get on with what we need to do. Although, it might be better I were to get a change of clothes, as I rather suspect that parading around like this," Dee indicated her costume, "would sorely stand out. I suspect it might be wishful thinking to hope there might be jeans or the like here?"
  19. That is a hit, this one was already damaged, but rolls a 26 on its toughness save this time and is fine.
  20. Well, based on my calculations, you could have to use the HP to stunt off of Superstrength to have enough Leaping to get up to her. I will need a DC 15 balance check to stay on your feet landing up on the support arch for the bridge (where she is). (You get to roll your +2 for Dex)
  21. Tiff, Affects Corporeal is a +1 Extra, not a feat, it also needs to be applied to some power.
  22. I'm here!
  23. Tiff, the twins had moved up out of Miss Grue's reach the round before. (I know we had a long break while we were waiting for Ex to get back )
  24. Only problem is Tiff that the bad girl is no longer on the rooftop, she broke free then moved up on to the freeway bridge that is overhead. So you all need to figure a way to catch up with her.
  25. I am here. So, there is a thread that never finished where Tsunami was helping the Coast Guard, so that could explain how they could reach her. And she could ask Glamazon along with her, as they are roommates.
