  1. The revelation that this PanStar factory had indeed been engaged in the illegal dumping of chemicals was not exactly a surprise to Giang. Months ago, the Asian teen had encountered another PanStar subsidiary in Africa that had been engaged in the kidnapping of workers and villagers believed to have been killed in flooding that the company had triggered for some unknown purpose. The security personnel in Africa had been equally aggressive and trigger happy as the current group of guards now shooting at the two glowing metahumans hovering in the air. Giang was not certain what level of culpability they might have, but they were certainly not making the situation better, having attacked her and the large Grue, who appeared to be trying to stop the attack on the factory. There was also the chance that they could end up badly injured. So, she decided it might be best to both protect them and others from them. With a simple gesture, the Asian teen directed the water spout that had risen up from the nearby river over towards the group of security guards. As the water began to fall down towards the men, it suddenly spread out as it started to form a dome over them. One guard managed to dive underneath the forming walls of the dome, but the other four were unable to get clear as the water seemed to almost solidify, becoming completely smooth and almost opaque., trapping the four inside, but also providing them protection from attacks from outside the dome.
  2. GM The powerful gust Ulysses was able to generate quickly doused the flames, and even knocked over a couple of the men in protective suits that were along one edge. But the men quickly climbed back to their feet, with most starting for safety once more. But one of them stopped and glanced down the tunnel away from where the inferno had just been, seeming to do a quick count of the fleeing figures. He then turned back towards the still smoldering pile of half melted chemical drums, the wreckage of the forklift and large boulders as he yelled out, "Harry!" Up on the surface, the five remaining security guards turned their attention to the two glowing young women hovering high in the air that had just taken out the other half of the security team. All five opened fire with their energy weapons, the blast streaking into the sky. But only one found its target, striking Crimson. But the red aura of energy that surrounded the young woman deflected the blast harmlessly aside.
  3. The five remaining PanStar security guards shift their focus to Crimson and Clover, opening fire on the twins, with only one hitting, but Crimson's Impervious toughness deflects the attack. So, Round Five 18 Tsunami (unharmed, fatigued, 2 HP) 9 Clover (unharmed) 9 Crimson (bruised) 9 Tundra (bruised) 8 Ulysses (unharmed, 0HP) 7 Miss Grue (bruised, 2 HP) Last: Security guards (5) Tsunami will use the water she brought over to try to put up a protective sphere around the remaining guards (and also keep them from continuing to attack everyone). DC 21 Reflex save for the guards to try to escape from being enclosed, only one makes it and is able to dive free.
  4. Well, as I said, I was not saying "no" to Evasion 2, was just wondering about how you saw it working. For the superspeed, it is up to you, but you might want to consider breaking it into its individual parts so you can improve parts of it at different rates (but that is something you can always do later). But, I prefer to see the Wall Running listed separate, as it is not really a feat, but is Super Movement: Wall Running (limited: only while moving).
  5. Hey Sszinid, great to see you coming up with a first character! So a few things. Your Knockback would be 0 without the tactical vest, but -2 with the vest. Under Feats, I believe you want Attack Focus (Melee), not ranged, as your Melee is listed as +9 (base plus 4). Also (and this is just a question, not a statement that you have to change it), for Evasion 2, who do you see that fitting the character? That high of Evasion is usually something you see from a concept that is either speedster, super-agile or martial artist/combat expert, which Razoracle does not quite seem. Again, I am not saying you cannot stick with that, just wondering how you see it working. Powers: I do not believe we have ever allowed two damage powers to be linked together like that. We have allowed a damage power to be linked to some other effect, such as a Will based damage attack and a Will Drain. Regarding your "Why Yes, I did just Combust" complication, it is a rather interesting one, but I would have to say you would need to remove the potential for a positive effect. If you are getting something positive, it is not a complication.
  6. Dee made her way into her brother's apartment in the Olympic Village, glancing around at the rather Spartan room. She gave him a small frown as he mentioned not being able to be up late. "How dreadfully boring. Here I thought you might be able to provide some introductions to some of the other athletes you have met. I am sure there are more than a few parties going on somewhere here." She then got a bit more serious as he mentioned some of the competition for his event and then asked about their father and sister. "Well, you have most likely spoke at greater length with father more recently that I have. Though he seemed at least somewhat pleased that I would be here to see you compete." She answered. "As for Susan-nothing has really changed. She has some good days, but most of them are a struggle."
  7. Dee glanced over as Osprey came back down to ground level and joined in the discussion about how to handle the cybernetically altered team the Ministry had initially sent in. Those are some fair points. The young woman noted in agreement. I have no real love for the Ministry, but like it or not, we are operating under their purview. She was about to respond to his other suggestion when Cruxberry's voice came over the intercom, asking for their status, Young Britannia spoke up first, so Dee let her do so while she focused on the other discussion. Well, we need to decide a course of action quickly. Whatever you want to do about these men, I do think it best I remain here and try to get us more control over the Haven, or, failing that, allow me to disable more of the security measures and other failsafes for the time being.
  8. With no additional requests for the moment, ALEX left the five teenagers to help themselves to refreshments that he had brought out for them, heading back down the hallway he had gone to retrieve the food and drinks. A quiet fell over the room as some of the gathered teens selected some of the arrayed refreshments, while others simply remained lost in thought, looking out the large windows at the city skyline beyond. Nearly ten minutes had passed when a door to the right side of the room slide open, the faint sound drawing the attention of the gathered teens. Standing in the doorway was a young man in his mid-twenties, with short black hair and rather intense brown eyes. Chase Atom was dressed in his familiar purple and black costume, the atomic symbol visible on the left side of his chest. He had a lean physique, but was clearly in very good shape. Sitting on his left shoulder was what looked like a blue furred spider monkey. "Good morning. I am sorry to keep you all waiting, had a few things to attend to while I was done here on Earth." Chase said with a small smile, his eyes sweeping over the gathered teens, lingering on William perhaps a moment or two longer than the others. "So…unless anyone has any questions, we should be on our way."
  9. Edward was the only member of Dee's family that was willing to call her by the name she chose to go by, instead of her birth name. It was one of the things that allowed her to stand him far longer than many of the rest of the family. Of course Dee had issues with Edward's devotion to following along in their father's footsteps, but this was hardly the time or venue to be repeating old arguments. Especially not when there was something strange going on. "Hmm, yes, they do seem to have some serious development going on." Dee stated, examining the four Russian athletes gathered around the Russian coach for a moment or two. She was about to address her brother again when another scene centered on Erick Sloane began to unfold, as the Russian coach turned his attention to the gymnast. When the coach had one of his "athletes" squeeze a golf ball into dust, Dee's eyes narrowed slightly. She was rather certain something was going on with these huge, apparently brainwashed athletes. And it seemed likely that this coach was dead center in whatever it was.
  10. GM Zandar watched the gathered teens with a smile on his face at their looks of wonder and amazement. "Aye, real dinosaurs. You are likely to see a number of other prehistoric animals as well that on Earth existed after the dinosaurs. We are unsure exactly why they all exist here together." Sam's camera managed to get her a bit clearly view of the packs of the creatures gathered down by the river, but they were still a good distance away. Kazra glanced at Gene as he reacted to the sight of the dinosaurs as well. "Who's John Williams?" The pre-teen asked. Her father meanwhile had turned to regard Juno, as the teen asked a question about Velociraptors. "Aye, there are a number of species of the pack hunting raptors. A year ago I saw Giang decimate an entire pack of them with a single sweep of her hands, her water blast clearing a path for me, my wife and my people to escape the Serpent People's dinosaur army which had attacked my capital."
  11. Moving around to the left side of the damaged building, the Crier came up to a pair of wide rolling garage doors that clearly were the loading dock for the building. Both of the metal doors were currently all the way down. The layer of snow outside the doors told something of a tale, with numerous tire tracks leading away from both doors. Though whether that was because PanStar was still moving things out of the damaged building, or moving in reconstruction supplies, was unknown. In addition to the two garage doors, there was a normal door near the left most door. It was hard to tell from where the Crier had positioned himself whether there was much foot traffic in and out of the door or not. As he took his time studying the area, the Crier spotted a security camera positioned over the two garage doors, panning slowly back and forth to take in a larger area.
  12. Lucy is up!
  13. Giang had moved to the back of the group, since as the Senior student present, she wanted to be sure no one got lost from the group. The Asian teen had gone on this hike to the portal before, this time the climb through the ravine going a bit easier than it had a year ago. The strange sensation that accompanied the shift from their own dimension and to the one where the Lost World existed was also nothing new, but still slightly disorienting. When the teen had gotten her bearings once more, she looked out on the familiar scene of a large expanse of the Lost World. Though she had been here before, Giang still found the view and the massive dinosaurs the roamed everywhere breath taking. But she remained quiet, watching the others to see their initial reactions.
  14. "Let go of me you disgusting…whatever you are!" The costumed criminal shouted as once again her many animated strands of hair strained against Bloody Mess' grip. This time her efforts proved more successful, as the hair managed to pry Mess’ stubby liquid blood arms off her and push the short blob of animated blood away. The woman's hair then began expanding further, pulling apart to free itself from being gummed up by the congealed blood. "I told you I don't have the statue any longer." She then stated. "I gave it to my contacts to deliver to the client that requested the job." With that several strands of her long brown hair stretched up into the air, quickly extending out more than a hundred feet as they grasped part of the support arch for the Mona-Glenn Bridge. Then the hair began to contract, as the supervillainess was pulled up into the air and onto the arch.
  15. GM A short while later… Two STAR officers led Legion towards an armored prisoner transport that was parked on the street near the small plaza where the supervillainess had been captured. A pair of suppressor cuffs clamped over her hands and wrists were dampening Legion's powers, as well as helping to keep her subdued. Something of a mid-sized crowd had now gathered around the scene, given the number of police cars that were now at the mall, and the news getting out that some villain had tried to rob a jewelry store and been stopped by some superheroes. The two officers helped Legion up into the back of the transport and then climbed up in after her. As one officer secured the costumed criminal, the other swung the door closed and locked it. "All secured, ready to roll out." He said over his radio to the driver. With a low roar, the transport's powerful engine came alive. But before the vehicle could start to move, a sphere of black shadows appeared around it, plunging all those inside into impenetrable darkness. "What the…" One of the STAR officers began to call out before he was cut short by a sudden blow to the side of his head that knocked him to the floor in the back of the transport dazed. The second STAR officer heard his partner fall and began to go for his sidearm, before a powerful kick landed in his midsection, knocking the wind out of him and sending him slamming into the inside wall of the transport. He then collapsed onto the seats along that wall. Then Legion heard a low male voice in the darkness near her. "Not the most impressive showing Legion. But luckily for you, the Crime League still believes you can be of some use." As the two STAR officers were pushing themselves back upright and trying to get their bearings back, the darkness suddenly was gone. Blinking as they readjusted to the light, the pair saw that Legion was gone…
  16. GM The three teens did not have long to wait before the police began to arrive on the scene. After a couple of minutes, there were more than a dozen police cars on the scene, with officers taking the unconscious Legion into custody while waiting for STAR to arrive to transport her. Other officers had cordoned off the small plaza where the three had caught up with the supervillainess, with some others making their way into the mall to secure the scene in the jewelry store. Tsunami, Glamazon and Crimson Tiger all had to provide statements to the police, who were more than happy to help them recover their things from the mall and discretely leave the scene once they were no longer needed. So it was about a quarter of an hour or so later that the three had managed to get back to Mali’s car and were then on their way back towards Port Regal, deciding it was likely best that they try to find some where to eat near campus instead of staying at the mall.
  17. Okay, Strand handles the squeeze just fine, getting a 26 on her toughness save. For her turn, she will try to escape the grapple once more, but again a bad roll, only a 28.
  18. Okay, added the array tag for your attack array. APPROVED
  19. Okay peirce, I have looked over the basics of the build before, and double checked some things and it all looks good. The one area I have some concerns over is the Strike Array. For the base power, as it is no longer Selective, I am wondering just how useful it will be given the amount of progression to increase the area. Anytime you use it, you will be hitting everything in that area, people, lightpoles, cars, wall, etc. I doubt you want to be causing this much collateral damage. If you are going forego having Selective at this point, you might want to drop most (if not all) the progression and stunt aversion with progression when a situation arises that you could use that big an area with little chance for collateral damage. For the alt Strike. How does the Blur have Extended Reach on his strike? (that is being able to hit someone 25’ away without having to move over to them?)
  20. Well, I did say "try to pursue" as with their leaping, it might be hard to catch them.
  21. So, technically, we are back to the start of initiative, if Lucy (or anyone else) wants to try to pursue the Battle Brothers. Otherwise, we are out of initiative.
  22. Inside a dark control room somewhere on the property, the security guard on duty was sitting upright, his attention fully on the bank of screens before him. His eyes shifted from screen to screen as he looked for any signs of the individual who had escaped from the lower levels. Then, just as he was about to look away from the screens on the left side of the bank, he saw a man move out of the office area, making his way through the factory floor and apparently looking for an exit. "Okay, I've got him." The guard said into a radio. "He is down on the factory floor heading towards the main exit." Down in the hallway on the lower level, the number of active combatants was rapidly dwindling as the African American Battle Brother was knocked unconscious by a quick, powerful attack from Crimson Tiger. The last remaining fighter that seemed to still be in the fight was near Freddy, who had been knocked for a loop by the Battle Brothers. But before the fighter could try to capitalize on Freddy's disadvantage, Diaz stepped out of the door to the waiting room behind him and delivered a powerful left hook to the side of the fighter's head, knocking him down onto the hard ground and unconscious. "Malcom!" The blond Battle Brother cried out as he glanced down at the unconscious form of his partner at his feet. He then quickly glanced at Lucy, Diaz, Crimson Tiger and the somewhat recovering Freddy. "Alright, y'all win this round. Best watch out if we meet again!" He said as he quickly bent down and picked up the unconscious Malcom. Then he crouched slightly before leaping straight upward, smashing through the concrete ceiling and then through the less sturdy materials making up the ceiling and floor of at least one more floor above.
  23. Diaz loops through the waiting room to come out the door near the melee, coming up behind Fighter 7 and power attacking him (-2 atk/+2 dam), hitting with a 21, DC 21 toughness save for Fighter 7. Fighter 7 gets a [url=http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4405877/]7, so he is pretty much out.
  24. Dee glanced back over towards Young Britannia as she joined in the "conversation." Hold on a second. The Englishwoman replied. Lets stop and think about this a little bit before you whisk us all way again like you did from the docks. We just spent a fair bit of effort getting into here, and while we are still locked out from a number of systems, I have managed to compartmentalize VERA and shut down the automated defense systems. If we all just take off to Freedom City, VERA could get lose and reassert control over the HAVEN. Then we will have to start all over again.
