Dee had easily been able to slip into the surface thoughts of the man she had guessed to be the leader of the motley group that had been in the other van. She did her best to ignore the dirty thoughts that crossed his mind as he focused on her. It was far from the worst thoughts she had found in the mind of man that was thinking about her. But from his meandering train of thought, it was pretty clear that he was not one of the good guys, though she had no idea who this "Middleman" was. But he did not seem the brightest guy around, and clearly did not appear to have any idea who he was dealing with here. Glancing back towards Jasmine and the other Osprey (whom Big Nelson appeared to believe was the real Osprey), Dee sent Jasmine a quick mental message. These guys are clearly criminals, they want the Osprey near you back. I am going to try something to see if I cannot just get this whole thing under control. The young woman then focused back on Big Nelson and his men. "I believe I said put your weapons down!" She said a little more forcefully. At the same time, she reached into Big Nelson"s mind once more, this time trying to take it over completely, and have him put his weapon down and order his men to comply as well.

"The space above the dome, got it." Velocity replied as the time agent determined what was going up. But even as quickly as she said that, the speedster realized there was not much she could do about something that was essentially up in the air at the moment. "Wait…I am hardly the best at dealing with stuff up in the air." She then added, remaining in place as she waited to see what else he might be able to determine. When the power went out, Velocity somewhat regretted not having her normal goggles, as she was plunged into darkness along with everyone else. Luckily that was temporary, as emergency lighting came back on in a few moments. She glanced back over at the time agents began talking about the problems with the embryo they had created, the one that would become her son. "Wait….what? A natural womb?" She replied as the agents looked at her. "You're not suggesting what I think you are, are you?" But Velocity knew full well that was exactly what they were suggesting. A variety of emotions rushed through her, happening in mere milliseconds as far as everyone else was concerned. She glanced down at the device before them, tying to look for something that was still too small to easily see. "If you put it in, you will be able to take it back out once the power is back right?" She asked, knowing what she had to do.

Okay, time for some more traps fun... A pair of drones are flying down at Blue Jay with an arc of electricity between them, getting a 17 on their attack roll, which hits, as Blue Jay loses her Dodge bonus while handing by one hand (which is basically climbing). So DC 20 Fort save for Blue Jay. Crow meanwhile has to deal a grappling cable that come out of the wall at him (as there are thermal cameras down there). The cable gets a 29 on its attack roll, grabbing Crow. He also has a DC 20 Fort save to make from the electrical carrier attack. It gets a 35 on its grapple check.

Giang maintained a rather patient expression as Will began quickly moving from person to person, greeting the three girls he did not already know before stopping in front of the Asian teen. When she had met Will during his own tour of the campus, Giang had rather quickly noted that he was rather energetic and something of a flirt. Others might have taken this as an opportunity to deflate the speedy teen a bit, by commenting on how his own campus tour had been along with his parents and little sister. But Giang was not that sort of person. "Unless Georgia or Cho wish to do otherwise, we likely will be stopping at the Staff restaurant after we drop off their luggage, so we could certainly meet up there in a short while." She replied with a small smile. Giang then turned back to Cho and Georgia at their questions. "Unfortunately I have no experience with cafeterias in public schools in this country. But as Thaelia and I have indicated, today we would have to use the Staff restaurant, which is much more like a traditional restaurant than what I understand a cafeteria to be like. Both it and the school's normal cafeteria server a wide variety of healthy options. And while I am again not the best for comparison, I find the options rather satisfactory."

It would only take one move action, but you will need to get back to your feet. So unless you use the kip up acrobatics trick again...

The Fens, Freedom City, New Jersey Thursday, December 26, 2013 10:40 PM The day after Christmas, a light layer of snow still lay over much of Freedom City. The holiday light still glittered in the nighttime skyline of the city. Down in the Fens, the festive atmosphere was considerably more lacking. Out on the southeast section of the Fens that jutted out into the South River, large sections stood black and shadowy under the bright lights of the city. Foreshadow was currently crouched on a rooftop in one such shadowy block of that section of the Fens. While most of the city was still recovering from the day before, the city’s criminal element was not quite so complacent. Tonight however, Foreshadow had a particular agenda. Over the last month, the cowled crimefighter had heard rumors of a new group moving into parts of Southside. There had been some violent confrontations with some of the existing criminal element. But so far Foreshadow had been able to learn very little. But then an hour ago, he had had one of his premonitions and knew that he should come to this part of town. Unfortunately, he was not completely sure what he was waiting for.

Giang had sprinted back to where she and her friends had first spotted the Legion that had been attacking a security guard. The Asian teen reached the railing overlooking the area below. Most of the other shoppers were gone, either having moved into stores to hide, or having headed for the nearest exits. Down below Giang saw Mali fighting with two of the Legion duplicates, the martial artist just deflecting an attack from one of the Legions. But before Giang could even consider how best to help her friend, she saw another Legion come running up towards the top of the escalators, coming from the direction Thaelia had gone. A slight feeling of concern came over Giang as she took a step towards the new arrival, her hands thrusting out in front of her as she did so. A blast of water shot out from the air in front of her hands, twisting through the air towards the Legion duplicate. The blast struck the costumed criminal squarely, the force of the impact lifting her off her feet and sending her flying back more than fifty feet to slam back down on the tiled floor.

Tsunami will use her stunted power to blast at Legion 2, using Power Attack (-2 atk, +2 dam), hitting with a 26. Legion 2 gets a 18 vs DC 25, so she is bruised and dazed. Glamazon is up!

Velocity Velocity had gone along with Lady Liberty with minimal coaxing, after all, the older Leaguer had been at the hero thing since around the time Megan had been born. When Megan had started operating as Velocity, Lady Liberty had provided encouragement, advice and other support, and had become something of an older sister figure once Megan had joined the League. The speedster had been rather curious about what Beth wanted to talk to her and Stesha about when they made their way into a small conference room a bit down the hall from the party. That curiosity was only heightened as Beth hugged them both again once they were alone. And when she told them her big news, Megan opened her mouth in shock, for a moment at a loss for words. It had not been long after she had become a member of the League that she had learned about the trouble Beth and her husband had been having in trying to start a family. But of course, a moment for her was often hardly noticeable to most anyone else, and she quickly smiled and gave Lady Liberty another hug. "Beth, that is wonderful news! I know how hard it has been for you and Trevor over the years. This must truly be a Merry Christmas for you two!"

GM The new Legion that Crimson Tiger had turned her focus to grunted slightly from the hit, but remained on her feet. She regarded the heroine a moment, glancing up at the floor above where Tsunami had now arrived, as well as the Legion that had been fighting Thaelia before focusing back on Crimson. "You just don’t seem to be getting the picture. We don't have to be tough, all we have to do is keep you busy, which we have done a pretty good job of." She spun her staff once before swinging it in a wide arc designed to force the heroine to move into the path of an attack from her twin. The second immediately was moving to capitalize on the opening created by the first, swinging her staff down towards Crimson's upper right shoulder. The martial artist heroine was able to get her right arm up to deflect the attack off her forearm, a maneuverer that stung, but was far better than if the blow had hit straight on. "And we have managed to get a few good licks in as well." The second one added.

Okay, Glamazon is dazed and does not act. Legion 2 runs all-out and arrives at the top of the escalators and comes face to face with Tsunami who arrived on her turn. So… Round Nine 30 Legion 1a (bruised) 24 Legion 1b (unharmed) 23 Tsunami (unharmed, fatigued, 3 HP) 23 Crimson Tiger (bruised 2, 3 HP) 20 Glamazon (bruised 2, 1 HP) 14 Legion 2 (bruised) Legion 1a will use Aid Other action again, while using Defensive Attack (-3 atk/+3 def), easily succeeding the check, so giving Legion 1b a +4 on her action. Legion 1b will Power Attack (-3 atk/+3 dam), hitting with a 29, so DC 22 toughness save for Crimson.

Tsunami Giang could not help but smile slightly at Thaelia's recounting of their encounter with Natas and his mercenaries over the summer. "You are forgetting about the three of us running into that duplicator at the mall just before Thanksgiving." She stated, though it had been something of a frustrating encounter given how the duplicator had basically toyed with them all, using her duplicates as decoys to distract from what she had really been up to. As Thaelia stepped away a moment, Giang gave Marcus another smile. "But over all things have been rather quite. It has been months since I had to dodge any agents sent by my father or any of Dr. Sin's other lieutenants, though I suppose it's only a matter of time before someone comes after me again." She replied. Although Marcus had not been present at any of the attacks on Giang during his last semester at Claremont, he had certainly heard about how she and John Smith (aka Myrmidon) had been attacked by tong martial artists during the Chinese New Year celebrations in the West End, and then a few months later, Giang, Subito and Serge had been captured and taken to island in the South Pacific where Dr. Sin had an island for training operatives and Cerys, Tona and Morgan had assisted Raven in tracking them down. As Thaelia returned with a familiar figure in tow, Giang gave a smile of greeting. "Good evening Errant. Happy holidays."

GM As Freddy came out into the hallway, the two hulking forms of the Battle Brothers both turned to regard the short fighter. "Righty and lefty huh?" Said the blond Battle Brother. "You could say the same about us!" He then stepped forward, his left hand, which had the unusual metal bracer on that forearm, launching out in a punch aimed at Freddy's head. But the skilled pugilist easily ducked under the attack, weaving away as the second Battle Brother closed as well. "You and your friends are going to regret coming down here!" He said as he also launched a punch at Freddy, but it was easily blocked aside by the superhero private eye.

The Battle Brothers turn to face Bloody Mess. Jack attack first, missing with a 13. Malcom then steps in to attack as well, also missing with an 11.

GM Inside the waiting room, one of the goons in the cheap suits had his pistol out and ready, but he had no clear shot at Crimson Tiger as she was currently surrounded by a bunch of fighters. So he kept his pistol aimed down at the ground, ready to raise if an opening presented itself. Up by the other door out of the waiting room, another of the fighters continued out the door and into the hallway. Once there he found one of the cheap suited goons standing in the middle of the hallway. "Get in there to help!" The good stated, waiving towards an open door next to a hole in the concrete block wall. The fighter rushed in, spotting a number of unconscious thugs and a hot chick in a dress facing another fighter and Diaz. After a brief hesitation, the fighter moved towards Diaz. Back in the waiting room, another fighter stood back from where Crimson Tiger was no engaged by three of other fighters. Not wanting to get in the others way, he hung back for the moment, waiting for an opening. Another fighter, who had been hurt when Crimson Tiger hand slammed one of his compatriots into him, decided to head towards the other exit from the room. So the man turned and round across the waiting room and through the door out into the hallway.

Thug 5 is going to hold his action. Fighter 1 continues out the other door and into the hallway where Thug 6 directs him towards the room where Lucy and Diaz are, he uses another move action to close with Diaz. Fighter 7 will hold back as the space around Crimson Tiger is crowded at the moment. Fighter 6 will move over towards the other door and get out into the hallway.

GM As Bloody Mess pumps himself up and then runs through the open doorway and out into the hall, two of the fighters that had been engaging him suddenly found themselves without a target. Deciding to leave the stocky pugilist to the Battle Brothers in the hallway, the two men close and circle around Crimson Tiger. The first throws a right hook at the heroine, but she catches the movement out of the corner of her eye and easily blocks it with her left arm. The second, having circled around behind her, launches a crescent kick at her head, but Crimson catches the movement in the shadows at her feet and is able to duck under the attack. Inside the room Lucy had been thrown into, Bennie Diaz took advantage of the distraction that Lucy had caused to pull his legs up through the bindings on his wrists. He then picked up the chair he had been sitting on and moved up behind the other two goons in the cheap suits. *CRACK* The chair smacked one of the two over the head, breaking apart as the man crumpled to the floor in a heap. Diaz then turned quickly and hit the other goon with what was left of the chair. *WHAM* The goon was knocked backward and flat onto his back, also unconscious. "I hope you have a way out of here pretty lady." He says to Lucy.

Diaz moves up behind one of the Thugs in the room with him and Lucy and tries to hit him in the back with the chair he had been sitting on, He will Power Attack -4 atk/+4 dam, and taking 10 to hit the guy with a 16. Thug 10 misses his toughness save vs DC 23 and is out. Diaz the uses Takedown attack to go after Thug 9, same thing, hitting him with a 16 (taking 10), and he goes down as well.

With Mess moving out into the hallway to engage the Battle Brothers, Fighters 9 and 4 will circle around Crimson Tiger and attack her: both missing with a 15 and 19.
