Okay, with Ulysses able to move all-out and Miss Grue limited to normal moves to keep her blending concealment active, both will be arriving at the same time. (Tsunami will be following shortly after, for while she can cover the distance between the two points quickest while she was in the water, it took her a bit longer to get into the water). I will need a notice check for each of you please. Also Tiff, Mother Unit's Datalink range is only 5 miles, the ship, being back in Freedom City, is well outside that range.

GM Moving quickly away from the picnic area, Alexander was able to change himself into Ulysses as he went. Because the location the smoke was coming from was on the opposite side of the canal, the only way he could get to the scene was by doubling back through the park to take the bridge back to the north of town. Luckily he was quick enough to do so in a few short moments, turning to follow the banks of the river back towards the eastern edge of town towards where the smoke column was still rising in the air as a second explosion echoed in the air. Passing some buildings along the north end of town, Ulysses saw a number of people had come out into the cold to try and get a glimpse of what was going on. It was moments later that he began to draw closer to a large manufacturing plant located near the banks of the St. Lawrence River. Elsewhere, Daphne, now operating as Miss Grue, was gliding through the air towards the scene, her progress somewhat slowed by the need to allow her blending camouflage to adapt and keep her concealed. Having gained a bit of altitude while drawing closer towards the eastern edge of town, the young Grue saw a large building with several smokestacks rising up above it. The column of black smoke was definitely coming from that building and there appeared to be some sort of commotion going on near it as a second muffled explosion echoed from ahead.

Giang had been over in the nearby wooded area with some of the others when the explosion had echoed across the water. The Asian teen quickly scanned the far river bank, spotting the black column of smoke as she started moving slowly to one side, away from the others. While not having extensive training in stealth, time spent with Cerys and Mail had certainly resulted in her picking up a few things. "What was that?" Cathy stated as she looked through the trees towards the shore before her mouth dropped open at the site of the thick black smoke. "What do you think happened?" She asked, and not getting a response, glanced over to find herself alone. "Giang?" She said in surprise, glancing around to see where the Asian teen might have gone. Further in the woods and now out of sight, Giang had slipped off the outer layer of clothes that she had decided to wear over her costume. Experience had taught her that one never knew when something might happen that required her to use her powers. For several months the teen had worn the standard Claremont uniform as a costume, sometimes with the addition of a small mask. Since returning from Summer break, she had opted for an individualized costume. Her new costume was a full body suit of morphic molecules colored several shades of blue in a patter than seemed almost to flow and shimmer like water. Stowing her clothes in her backpack, the teen hide it in some bushes near the edge of the water as she glanced across at the rising smoke. Another faint explosion echoed over the water. Putting a dark blue domino mask over her upper face, Giang dove into the rough waters of the St. Lawrence River, disappearing beneath the surface as she sliced through the water with ease, headed in the direction of the explosions.

Velocity Velocity could not help but smile slightly as Maxima dropped down to one knee in order to be closer down to the level of everyone else. She could imagine being so tall was at times very inconvenient. But the muscular heroine certainly looked formidable. "So, I know Silver pretty well," the speedster began, giving her friend a small smile, "what about you two?" She continued, glancing at first Maxima and then Crusader. "You been at the superhero thing for very long?" "Myself, it has been...wow, seven years or so now, but then I got started when I was still in high school."

With the decision made that Carmen would stay the night given the dangerous weather conditions outside, Frank left the room to see to the arrangements. Catherine and Jessica continued their conversation with the rock reporter. Catherine shrugged slightly at Carmen's question about how she was able to live with the curse looming over the family. "Well, in all honesty, until this afternoon, I never put much stock into this whole curse business. And I am still not entirely sure what to make of it. But even so, people go through life with all manner of ways of dying just a step away, and forty years is not so short a time as to not provide some chances at enjoying one's life." But even as she spoke, the older woman was looking over at her daughter Jessica, a slight trace of fear on her face at the thought that her daughter, only in her early twenties, might have her life ended so early. Jessica meanwhile seemed somewhat oblivious to this, as she chuckled slightly at Carmen's comments about going wild and trying to enjoy what little time she would have if faced with the same curse. "Well, there are some in the family that have done pretty much that. Vince for example." "Somebody had to." The young rockstar called over from where he was sitting, a playful smirk on his face. Jessica rolled her eyes slightly before continuing, [colopink]"but anyway, while I certainly do not want to die tomorrow, I cannot complain about the life I have been able to lead. What about you Carmen? Is being a reporter what you always wanted to do? Or would you have taken some other route if faced with knowing when your end might come?" "Well of course she wanted to be a reporter." Vince piped in once more. "After all, she gets to meet someone like me as part of the work doesn't she?"

Tsunami Giang smiled slightly at Marcus' comment about complaining not doing him any good. "Well, we would certainly be willing to listen to you complain. Although I am not entirely sure that would do you any good either, other than to have the chance to do so." "Things have been good for me so far. This first semester has gone by rather quickly, and has been very quiet for the most part. But then, given some of what happened back in the early half of the year, it would take a lot to compare." The Asian teen replied. That first semester she had spent at Claremont had indeed been a rather chaotic time, starting almost immediately with the events of the Day of Wrath at the start of the year and almost finishing the school year with herself, Subito and Serge being kidnapped by one of Dr. Sin's lieutenants and having to be rescued from a Pacific island training facility for Dr. Sin's operatives by Raven and a group of other Claremont students.

The broadhead arrow flashed in the dim light of the elevator shaft, slashing across the steel cable holding up the elevator car as the counter weight attached to the other end continued to descend downward. Blue Jay's slash cut through some of the steel fiber of the cable, but at least half of it remained intact as the agile archer rebounded off the opposite wall back towards the wall in which the doorways were located to grab ahold of another edge of a doorway. For a brief moment it seemed as if the cable might hold, but then Blue Jay could see it beginning ot fray, more and more of the fibers snapping under the weight and tension of the old elevator car. Then the cable snapped altogether, the elevator car plummeting down into the dark shaft. With the sudden release of the car, the counterweight that had been slowly descending went into a complete freefall, causing the cable to whip around the elevator shaft. Blue Jay was just able to twist to one side as the flailing cable slapped cross the wall where she had just been with enough force to have likely caused significant injury, before it twisted away again and was pulled up above her. There was a loud CRASH as the elevator car smashed into the bottom of the shaft, the electrical current arcing around it flickering a few times before going out completely. The counter weight came hurtling down along the back wall as well before smashing down onto the damaged wreck of the elevator car, the cut cable following along after a few moments later. The wreckage seemed to be about five or six floors below where Blue Jay was currently dangling, or about two or three floors below the ground floor where she had boarded the elevator...

Georgia made her way through the main gates of the campus, which went under a castle like tower that was part of a long three story building that occupied the lower corner of the campus. Beyond the gates she found a large open courtyard. A large circular law was in the center, with a number of wooden benches arranged along the outside of the circle. In the center of the courtyard stood a tall statute with a plaque indicating it was of one Dr. Charles Claremont. She was not in the main quad for long before she saw another teenage girl approaching her from another archway in the building around the courtyard that seemed to lead further into the campus. The new arrival was an Asian teen who appeared a couple of years older than Georgia dressed in a pair of dark jeans and a light grey sweatshirt with Claremont across the front. If she seemed surprised by how easily Georgia was carrying her trunk, she did not show it on her face as she approached. "Good afternoon, I am Giang Trang, welcome to Claremont Academy. You are Georgia Montgomery correct?" She asked, brining her hands together to give Georgia a small bow. "I am one of the Senior's here and have been asked to show you to your dorm room and provide a tour of campus. We are expecting another new arrival as well, so we will wait for her."

Velocity was a bit surprised at first at Robert's rambling as he awoke very disoriented. She frowned slightly, but then had to resist an urge to smile as his rambling continued after the time agent indicated that it was normal. It would be much more funny if they had not kidnapped him and were not in the process of creating our son. She thought to herself. "Well, that is nice to know." She said somewhat flatly to the time agent before giving Robert a smile as he continued to ramble. "In a little bit." She replied as she dodged his attempt at a kiss and slipped one arm around him and helped get him back to his feet. "We are in the Null Zone, the location the time agents we have run into before operated out of." She said, not really expecting too much of that to register.

Hmm, only a 9, but I think Megan has been around enough drunk people to have a general idea of that

Velocity frowned as the time agent mentioned having "permission" of one parent. "Permission from the older Robert hardly counts as permission from my Robert." She gestured down at the sleeping Englishman. "And in any event, his permission does not extend to my DNA. But then I understand that does not matter much as your using discarded DNA." "Still does not address the moral issues with what you are doing, but of course, you will simply state that moral considerations are just another luxury." She paused as she looked back down at Robert. "You still have not answered my question about how soon he will be back awake."

Giang watched quietly as Lady Shen ended the sparing and dismissed the assembled students. She was slightly surprised they were being given an opportunity to wander the compound on their own. But then, she had little doubt it was part of Lady Shen's attempts to keep them off guard. Walking back over towards her friends, she gave a small nod in response to Subito's congratulations, though her face showed no sign of accomplishment. "Thank you, but Lady Shen learned what she wanted to from the exercises, which was more than I had intended to allow." The Asian teen considered Subito's comments on where they should explore and whether or not they could find any important systems to try and sabotage when a voice spoke up, causing the three Claremont students to glance over at the newcomer. Giang studied the Laotian teen quietly during his exchange with Subito, before she noticed a number of other teens wearing the same red colored uniform. Another young man moved up near Akamu. He was tall, but leaner than the Laotian, and carried himself with an air of superiority. By his dark hair and features, he appeared to be from India, or the surrounding region. "Easy Akamu." He stated, his speech also carrying a noticeable accent, as he looked over at the Laotian. "We will have an opportunity to face them soon enough." He then turned to regard the three Claremont students, his dark gaze sweeping over each of them. "Welcome, I am Rudra." He stated with the slightest bow to the three. Behind him and Akamu were three other figures, two more young men, and a young woman who appeared to be Chinese. She moved over to the other side of Akamu in order to have an unobstructed view of the Claremonters, her gaze almost predatory.

Happy birthday Sandman!

Velocity rolled her eyes slightly as the time agent began a philosophical discussion, an expression hidden behind her reflective hi-tech goggles. "Your example assumes that killing the one person is the only way of saving the other ten. More often than not, there are other options. A lot of the problems between me and your organization could have been avoided by different choices during or initial encounter." The speedster remained silent as he explained that the choice to focus on her time stream was in some ways random, at least once the suitable ones had been narrowed down. "I am sorry about your family and time stream." She said quietly as she watched him start to work on reviving Robert, quite a moment after his last statement. "I am here to get my Robert back." She then replied. "Beyond that...I am not sure about."

Well, the cable is not really heroic Rav. I will let you take 10 on shooting it, so you will hit! As for the bounding up higher while shooting, I figure Jay's acrobatics is good enough with skill mastery to allow her to do that.

Round Five (9 rounds till computer files begin to delete!) 29 Blue Jay (1 HP, Unharmed) 24 Blodeuwedd (2 HP, Unharmed) 17 Raven (Unharmed) 12 Crow (2 HP, Unharmed, Coat is suffering fatigue (-2 ranks to all powers until repaired)) 8 Warden (Unharmed) Jay is up!

Sitting in front of the array of monitors, Warden frowned under his mask as Raven vanished from the room she had been in, apparently along with whomever it was that had triggered the tremor sensors. On one of the monitors, a timer was slowly counting down, just reaching 54 seconds left. He focused on what he had for the one remaining superteen still in the building. Blue Jay felt her hair starting to stand on in just in time leap up off the top of the elevator car as powerful electrical current began to play across the metallic surfaces. The teenage archer managed to push up off the wall and stretch out to grab onto the bottom edge of the elevator doorway the floor above her. Glancing down, she saw there was not enough space along the sides of the elevator for her to get by, at least not without touching it. Then the elevators started to move upward...

Velocity's frown did not go away at the time agent's answer about why they did not bother trying to talk about things rather than just kidnapping Robert. She was also not quite sure what to make of what he said regarding the son they were planning to create. "A classic example of believing the ends justifies the means." She responded simply. She then looked down at Robert as he announced that the process was complete. "So you going to revive him now? How long will that take?" The speedster considered something a moment, then added, "and while we're waiting, why us? As in, why the two of us from this particular time stream? There must be scores of other possibilities."

Okay Rob, Fixed a few small format issues. Looking at the Alt power to your Super Strength, I only count 8 pp use of the available 14. Also, as you have it built right now, the Drain part of the Alt does not work on objects (you would need to add the Affects Objects extra (which would use another 4 pp).

Okay Corsec, a couple of minor things. Knockback, should be -5, -3 Flat-Footed. You can remove the line about the equipment assumed from your wealth bonus, as that is correct. For the Teleport, what is the Progression 2 for? (I assume amount of weight she can carry while teleporting, but need that indicated, as well as how much additional weight that is). Otherwise, we have worked on the character in your building thread already.

Giang smiled slightly at Thaelia's comment about not declaring war even for a better deal on shoes. "There is no need to wait on me." She stated as she saw the Atlantean teen take a seat to wait. "I am not really finding anything here, so will likely need to try another store." She then shrugged at her friend's question about the Freedom League. "While I would imagine there are quite a few tales, I am afraid I do not know any of them. I have met a few members, but only when they wanted to debrief me after Raven found me in Singapore. Raven is the one I know best."

Velocity Velocity chuckled slightly at Silver's comment about not networking more. "Well, I have not been able to do quite as much networking with other heroes in the last few months myself. There were just so many things keeping me busy." As the talk turned to the subject of Christmas shopping, the yellow clad speedster grinned. "Like I would miss any chance to do some shopping." She began in reply. "But I am mostly done, still a little bit more to finish up though." Of course, that is because this year my Christmas shopping is rather different than in the past. Velocity thought to herself, though she was not about to start discussing the fact she now had a six year old son to Christmas shop for with people she just met. Though sometime soon she needed to try to find time to bring Jen up to date on the bizarre things that had been taking place in her life.
