GM "I am glad you like it…umm, Daphne wasn't it?" Replied Professor Morris as the rest of the students gathered around. Once everyone was assembled, the professor got out some maps of the park that he passed out, pointing out some key areas for them to focus on as they made their way through the section of the park. "Right then, lets divide into three groups to start." He said as he turned and directed the division of the students. Once the groups were selected, they each started off towards different sections of Hawkins Point. Giang and Daphne ended up in the same group, along with four other students, three from FCU and one from Freedom College. As the six students started down a trial towards a section of wetlands near a picnic area, one of the FCU students, a dark haired young man with a bit of dark stubble on his face, turned towards Daphne. "So you go to Burrough’s right?" He asked.

Giang Trang climbed out of one of the two white vans, a cold breeze blowing her long black hair slightly. The Asian teen was dressed in a pair of dark jeans, a soft red sweater and a warm jacket, although she was actually not bothered by the cold at all. As was often the case, her expression was calm and serene as her dark eyes swept over the natural beauty of the nearby sections of the park and river, before focusing back on Professor Morris. She smiled slightly at the enthusiasm of one of the other students. Adjusting her small backpack over one shoulder, in which she had a couple of books and some note pads, Giang moved over towards the professor as most of the other students began gathering around.

"You could try." Velocity replied coldly to the Caretaker, her stance still somewhat defiant although she was not making any hostile movements. The time agents and the Caretaker had said enough to make her hesitant to actually do anything, but that did not stop her from still being livid. Focusing back on the time agents, she continued, "See, this is why we don't get along and I refused to give you all the Stopwatch when Robert had gotten ahold of it. You don't bother asking or talking about things, you just show up and demand or kidnap people and do what you believe is the right thing. If it was not for how Robert was acting when he had the Stopwatch, I would be pretty inclined not to believe a thing anyone from your organization says and suspect that Collapse was just some made up threat." "So how about starting now. You said you are removing the Stopwatch contamination from his DNA, why? How will that help Robert? Or is it only something that will benefit your organization? And what do you need my DNA for?"

Once the paint was prepared, Rene moved over to a blank canvas which he considered for a moment before his eyes seemed to glaze over and his hand holding the paintbrush began to move almost on its own accord. Rene was made sweeping broad strokes across the canvas, as his eyes seemed focused on something far, far away. After a few minutes of painting, Rene stopped, his eyes refocusing as he came out of the trance. The painting in front of him turned out not to be a portrait of the thief, but a painting of an old warehouse. The building looked like it could be any one of similar buildings throughout Freedom City. The question was where it might actually be located. And how it was connected to the thief.

Hmm, thought I posted this last night. Wave-Eye is not quite up yet Ari, so we will save that till Thomas posts for Tempest. So Tempest is up, but clearly not quite where he can change just yet (as he is in the hallway with one of the security guards). So I am giving you a hero point for having to deal with your secret identity issues. Go ahead and post Thomas.

Okay, with Mess now right inside the door, there is less space for others to come at him, so fighters 3, 9 and 4 all rush him (in turn) and attack. Each of them are going to put a bit more into their punches (-3 atk/+3 dam). They get a 20, 19 and 13, respectively. So, only the first hits, Mess needs to make a DC 18 toughness save (would have been 21 without his partial immunity).

OOC for thread for when it is needed.

Robert Moses State Park Massena, Upstate New York Friday, November 22, 2013 10:24 AM Cold winds whipped across the waters of the St. Lawrence river, the major waterway that formed part of the international boundary between Ontario, Canada and New York State in the United States, before traversing through Ontario and Quebec before opening into the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. Massena was one of the many towns that lay along the New York side of the river, just before the point where the river continued northeast into Quebec. Located along the St. Lawrence Seaway, a pair of locks were located near the town, Massena was a logical location for a number of manufacturing and industrial sites in the Twentieth Century. But like many such towns in the past couple of decades, many of those business had closed up and moved away, though there were still a few such plants in the town. Located to the north of the town were a number of larger islands out in the river, much of which were covered by Robert Moses State Park, which contained thick wooded areas and wetlands, as well as beaches, boating areas, as well as a wide variety of other recreational areas. Given the current cold temperatures that were hovering only a little above freezing, the park was understandably less than crowded. Out on the eastern end of the inner island on which the park sat, a group of white vans pulled into the nearly empty Hawkins Point visitor's center parking lot. After the vans came to a halt, the driver’s side door of the lead van opened and out stepped a man in his early fifties with dark grey hair, who stretched slightly before looking over at the other occupants of the van who were also exiting. The man was Professor Walter Morris from Freedom City University, who was part of the environmental sciences department. Inside the two vans were just over twenty students from FCU, Freedom College, as well as a couple of community colleges and even a couple of high schools in Freedom City that were involved in environmental studies courses at their schools, all of whom had signed up for this little trip to study the ecosystems in the wetlands and forested areas of the park. "Okay everyone." He called out to the students exiting the two vans as he pulled on a pair of warm gloves. "I know it has been a long drive, but we have about an hour and a half until lunch time, so we don't want to waste it." Alexander Cross made his way along one of the trails through the woodland areas that dotted Hawkins Point in Robert Moses State Park. Having recently found himself in a time rather removed from the one in which he had retired from several decades service as a locomotive engineer. He had been able to resettle himself somewhat, finding work as a night guard at the Museum of Science and Industry in Freedom City. When a chance to take a bit of vacation time had come up, Alexander had decided to revisit the area along the St. Lawrence river, recalling how more than three decades ago he taken trains along the river, delivering and picking up loads from the various industries that had sprung up, before carrying them further into the American heartland. Things had certainly changed in the intervening years. Many of the industries were gone, the towns clearly suffering from the loss of jobs. Most of the railways in the area were all but completely abandoned, over grown with weeds and other plants and generally not being utilized any longer.

Well, Tsunami falls just a bit short with a 17.

As Fulman approached the door out of the reception room, one of the PanStar security guards stepped over near him. "Where are you going?" The stern looking man asked, holding up a hand to indicate that Fulman needed to stop. "You need an escort back to the loading dock." He stated as he then led the young man back out into the hallway and in the direction of the loading dock. Wave-Eye followed the massive squid as it made its way into the South River, turning in the direction of the docks that lay along the southern bank of downtown Freedom City. Though it was not easy to see because of the sediment kicked up in the water, he could make out that the thing's body was easy thirty feet in length, with even longer tentacles trailing behind it. As he continued to close, a sudden burst of energy erupted from the center mass of the gigantic squid. The energy beam streaked through the cloud of sediment, momentarily creating a clear path though the churning cloud that last mere seconds before closing back up. Luckily the beam went wide of the ancient Triton, passing several feet to his left and streaking back out towards the Narrows.

Round One 22 ??? 17 Tempest (unharmed, 1 HP) 16 Wave-Eye (unharmed, 1 HP) 8 Squid thing Okay, some notice checks, ??? gets a 28, so he senses Wave-Eye. The Squid gets a 22, so it senses him as well. ??? fires a blast of energy at Wave-Eye, but misses with a 15.
-
The mystery individual will be going first (most likely), so thanks for asking Thomas. I will try to post soon (which will also include how far Tempest gets at the moment)

He cannot get quite all the way to Harry and Lucy, as Fighter 11 is standing in the doorway fighting Crimson Tiger. Also, as Mess runs into the open, Thug 6 (who held his action) takes a shot at him, but misses with a 13
-
They are actually not minions, so you hit the first one (Fighter 2) who gets a 23 on his Toughness save, so he takes a bruise.
-
He has two fighters that have attacked him, Fighter 2 and Fighter 5.

Velocity followed after the Caretaker at normal speed, though it was about all she could do to keep from rushing off ahead or zipping around impatiently. When she entered the room, she had quickly taken in the details, her mouth dropping open at the sight of Robert in some sort of suspended animation. The shock of the scene was interrupted as one of the time agents spoke up, telling her she was not meant to be here and telling her not to interfere. A scowl came to the speedster's lovely face as she set herself in a defensive stance, scanning the area around her for any invisible agents that might by lying in wait. "Did you really think you could just kidnap Robert and I wouldn't come looking for him?" She shouted to the two time agents in front of her, keeping a close eye on them as well thanks to her superspeed. "And you damn well better believe I am going to interfere! Now wake him up! Or YOU will regret it!"

Even as one of the fighters flew back into the waiting room unconscious from Crimson Tiger's powerful blow, another fighter moved forward to take the fallen man's place. It was a muscular African American man in his mid-twenties, his hands up in front of him in a classic boxer's stance. He launched a quick jab at the superheroine, actually managing connect. While Crimson Tiger preferred trying to avoid taking hits, she had long ago learned how to take one if she was unable to avoid it. She managed to twist her torso away just enough that the impact was reduced and did little to slow her down. Back inside the room, another fighter closed on Freddy, managing to land a solid left hook on the superpowered pugilist. But Freddy was easily able to take the hit without flinching or twisting, just solidly standing his ground as he registered the impact, but otherwise suffered little ill effect.

Hmm, I was thinking that the painting would be of a location (as I mentioned in chat a few days ago), to lead you all along (once the location gets identified, which could be done by Lance).

Okay, here are current initiatives: 22 ??? 16 Wave-Eye (unharmed, 1 HP) 8 Squid thing Need to get one for Tempest, even though he is not quite in the action just yet.

The brightening of the lights had helped to pull Giang from a rather restless sleep. Feelings of guilt in having her friends dragged into her problem had weighed heavily on her. The only small comfort she found was in the knowledge that Kat had apparently managed to escape the trap that had captured Giang, Subito and Serge, and that Headmaster Summers likely knew about their abduction. But whether the resourceful headmaster of Claremont, or Raven or any other members of the Freedom League would easily be able to find them was another question. At least she could be confident that someone was out there looking for them. Rising up smoothly, the Asian teen made her way over to where the food had been set down while she listened to the comments by her two friends from their own cells. "No, I do not see a need to be the only one to speak." She replied as she began to eat, her appetite having returned in full force. As Giang ate, the simple meal bought back memories of similar meals while growing up in Vietnam, quick simple meals to provide energy before the start of her long, regimented training and study sessions. Given what she had learned about her life in that small mountain village since, the memories were not as endearing as they might otherwise have been. The teen could not help but smile slightly at Serge's comments about the lack of a more lavish meal. "Perhaps they are reserving that for dinner this evening." She commented.

Velocity frowned slightly at the changes to the usual Zoom mixture that were described by Jack and his sister. It certainly was an unusual step to have an inert portion of the drug that had to be combined with some additional catalyst. But before she could ponder the problem too much more, Vince "appeared" inside the Pitchoo. "Good to see you as well Vince." The yellow clad speedster replied with a smile as she then listened to what else the AI had to say. She glanced at the map a few moments, her mind now kicking into full speed as she considered a number of options in mere fractions of a second. "That is not too far." She said aloud. "I can be there in less than a second, or a bit slower if preferred. Perhaps I can flush them towards the rest of you so we can subdue them. If any get away, I can try to follow and see where they might lead us."

Okay Ari, Wave-Eye is able to catch some shadowy glimpses through the sediment of what appears to be some sort of massive squid.

Megan nodded at Stesha's reply, giving a small smile of her own. "Yeah, the secret identity thing has often been a pain, but still I believe in the long run it has been for the best." "But now seems like the perfect time to tell my parents and siblings the truth and enough of the story with Lawrence so they understand why they suddenly have a six year old grandson or nephew. It is something I probably should have done some time ago anyway." The blonde speedster stated. "Where it is going to be a bit tougher is those who have known me for years, from high school or college or family friends. In addition, my parents know quite a few of the rich and powerful in the Freedom City and the state, politicians, attorneys, business men and women. And those people know I am twenty two and have never heard anything about a son before." Megan sighed slightly as she went on. "I mean, I suppose we could work up a story about adoption, which is technically true. There is just a part of me that feels badly about downplaying the relationship, which is so very complex anyway. Lawrence is our biological son, only he isn't at the same time. I also worry how using that sort of cover story might affect Lawrence if he hears about it the wrong way."
