A small smile had come to Giang's face as Thaelia had managed to disarm Natas, but that quickly faded as he delivered a powerful kick to the Atlantean teen's midsection. Despite being rather battered, the mercenary leader was still proving just how dangerous he could be. The Asian teen hesitated a brief moment, with Thaelia in such close proximity to Natas, she was afraid that if she tried to hit him with another water blast, she might hit her friend instead. Giang then rushed forward, closing quickly with the mercenary as she delivered a powerful roundhouse kick aimed at the man’s helmeted head. But Natas proved too quick, anticipating the attack and easily blocking it with his left forearm.

Round Twenty Three 20 Tsunami (bruised, fatigued) 20 Glamazon (bruised) 17 Natas (5 bruised) Tsunami closes to melee and power attacks -5 atk/+5 dam, but misses badly. Glam is up!

GM Natas tried to prevent his speargun from being torn from his grasp, but the Atlantean teen was far stronger than him, and had managed to exert the perfect amount of leverage to ensure she was able to disarm him. Quickly regaining his feet as she had pushed him back with one foot, the mercenary leader remained definite as he looked over at her through the opaque faceplate of his helmet. "You think that I am helpless just because you have deprived me of a weapon?" He stated, his cold voice showing little in the way of concern. With a quick movement of a trained fighter, he closed the distance once again, driving his right foot into the Atlantean teen's stomach in a sidekick that Mail could have been proud of, though Thaelia and Giang's friend and classmate at Claremont likely could have delivered it with more power. As it was, it still hurt, but was far from what it would take to lie low the Atlantean teen.

Wading Way, Freedom City, New Jersey Friday, November 1, 2013 10:04 AM The Wading Way was best known for the towering office buildings that dominated the Freedom City skyline, the most easily recognizable being the three towers of Pyramid Plaza, but even it had a few small greenspaces wedged in among the business that dominated the area. While miniscule compared to Liberty Park, the Promenade or even Riverside Park, they still had plenty of trees, bushes and other plants to provide a discrete location for Stesha Lumins (more widely known as Fleur de Joie) to make a discrete appearance. One of Stesha's teammates on the Freedom League, Megan Howell (better known as Velocity) had called yesterday asking to meet with the greenhaired woman at Megan's apartment in this part of town. That building stood just across the street from the park Stesha arrived at, rising up over forty stories into the air. Megan's was up on the thirty seventh floor. It had been several months ago that Megan had come to visit Stesha at her home in Sanctuary, to talk about Megan's recent encounter with a former lover (a man named Robert Harrow) and learning that she might someday have a son with Robert who would have powers that allowed him to seemingly destroy entire timelines. In large part based on some of Stesha's advice, Megan had renewed her relationship with Robert, and had Stesha had gotten a number of reports about how well things seemed to be going over the intervening months. There had been an incident in early June where pieces of some sort of prototype to the Stopwatch that Robert had wielded during the earlier encounter in February that had led to Megan learning about their future son. But Megan had been able to handle gathering the fragments of that prototype Stopwatch with the assistance of an android named Hronos that had powers allowing it to control time, as well as Robert and a female archeologist/adventurer named Heather Steed. Since that incident, everything Stesha had heard from Megan seemed to suggest that things were continuing to go well. Early in October, the younger woman had even indicated that she and Robert were investing together in a property on an island in Fiji. In fact, Stesha had not seen Megan in well over a week, as Megan had gone to spend some time with Robert at their new home on the South Pacific island. But then Megan had called yesterday, stating she needed some advice and to talk, though the young speedster had not provided much else in the way of details.

Giang watched with a great deal of concern as a group of Serpent People made their way by, leading a chained Subito along. The Asian teen's eyes quickly shifted to the scepter held by the lead, apparently female, serpent. That had to be what was being used to control the dinosaurs. Waiting till the group made their way past, Giang focused on one of the Serpent guards towards the rear of the group, bringing her hands up in front of her as she sent a powerful blast of water flying at the creature’s back. The twisting coils of water struck squarely, knocking the guard off its feet and sending it flying into one of its neighbors and knocking that one to the ground as well where both lay unconscious in a heap. The Asian teen shifted her weight in a defensive stance, preparing herself for the battle that was about to begin.

Natas launches an unarmed attack at Thaelia, Power Attacking -4 Atk/ +4 Dam. He hits with a 28. DC 23 toughness save for Thaelia.
-
He cannot beat that, so he is disarmed!

Having managed to lead the two tyrannosaurs on a small little chase, Velocity doubled back well out of their sight in a blink of an eye. She was able to catch back up with Smith and Hronos just as the later destroyed the lock on the door to the dome. "Hmm, I guess that works but if you had waited I could have vibrated through the walls and just tried opening it from the inside." The speedster stated with a wide smile a she came skidding to a halt. "Anyway, no worries, might not have been able to open it any easier anyway." "Shall we?"

As the engines fell silent and the forward propulsion of the vessel halted (if not its momentum entirely) Giang could not help but feel more confident. As Thaelia came into view once more, a small smile came to the Asian teen's face, just as she was forced to dodge aside from another of Natas' spears, this one passing quite close. "I believe the likelihood of that has become quite remote." She stated in response to the mercenary leader's thread. To emphasize the point, she sent another blast of water at the armoured figure. The powerful blast struck true, causing Natas to stagger backward a couple of steps as he let out another grunt of pain. But once again he managed to stay on his feet and still very much in the fight.

"A demonstration for a development breakthrough for investors and some other VIPs." The guard replied back briskly, apparently not intent on explaining further. His manner was certainly quite serious and professional, giving an impression he might be ex-military. The PanStar symbol on his uniform and hat were indication that he was not just from some rent-a-cop security firm, but part of the corporations internal security team. He seemed rather unappreciative of the masterpiece Fulmen had created for the event, shining his flashlight into the back of the van as he satisfied himself that everything was as it should be. After a minute or so, he gave Fulmen a small nod. "Alright, everything looks in order. Just follow along to the left of the building and you will see an open loading door, there will be space for you to pull into there and someone will be there to direct you where you need to go with the sculpture." He stated as he moved back up to the driver's side door and gave a signal to the guard manning the gate, which then swung open to let Fulmen drive the van through.

Rolling for thugs 1 and 2 together, they both fail and are DOWN!

GM The large ship's engines stutter to a halt as Thealia cuts the throttle. Momentum is still carrying the vessel forward some, but that is likely to slow down quickly against the oceans currents. Down on the after deck, the two combatants both hear the engines cut off. Natas grits his teeth with rage at the turn of events, glancing around just in time to see the Atlantean teen arrive once again. His options were now rather limited, he had no easy way of distracting both these teenage heroes, his only option was to try to win a chance to escape through action. "It seems I have little choice but to make my escape over your bodies!" He yelled out in his cold voice as he turned back to fire another spear at Giang. It was another of the electrical charged tips, but the Asian teen just managed to sidestep the attack and it flew past and out over the ship's railing.

Natas will send another spear at Tsunami, a stun tipped one this time, but he just misses with a 20.
-
Yes, sadly that is still dazed, but, better than Stunned. Blod is up!
-
The other one (the African American) resists the taunt with a 23, but you still manage to connect with the trip and manage to trip him.
-
Easy enough, but I will let you move up and shut it off in one Move Action, leaving you with another Move Action to head back to the fight if you want (and she has more than enough speed to get there).
-
The second explosive tipped spear sent Giang skidding a short distance across the deck as she managed to remain on her feet despite the powerful impact. Once again her protective sheen of water managed to absorb and dissipate the blast, leaving her slightly jarred but otherwise unharmed. As the smoke cleared around her, she quickly spotted the mercenary once more before sending yet another blast of water at him. Again she struck true, the blast slamming into Natas, but just like the previous time, he remained on his feet, and while apparently hurt by the attack, was still very much in the fight.

Round Twenty One! 20 Tsunami (bruised, fatigued) 20 Glamazon (unharmed) 17 Natas (4 bruised) -2 atk/+2 def, and she gets another hit with a 24, and he picks up another bruise. Glam is up!

So Rev tries to sucker punch the blond guy. While she hits, he actually was not caught flat footed and tried to dodge. He gets a 22 on his toughness save, so is only bruised. Hound is up!!

GM Natas managed to stay on his feet after taking another hit from the Asian teen's water blasts, but he was certainly starting to feel the effects of taking so may powerful attacks. His mind slipped back to his last encounter with the girl and how that had nearly ended in his capture. While he had similar booby-traps in place aboard the Python, detonating them would not provide the same opportunity to escape as he had had during their first encounter in the sinking submarine he had used to operate from. No, he was going to have to defeat her, or at least subdue her long enough to try to make an escape. Loading another explosive tipped spear, the last one he had on him, the mercenary leader raised the weapon to fire once more. As before, his aim was true, and the spear impacted with the teenager as she tried to dodge aside. There was another loud BOOM as the explosion created another small black cloud. But when the cloud was blow clear by the wind, the Asian girl was still on her feet and not appearing significantly harmed.

Natas attacks once again with an explosive tipped spear, hitting with a 26. Tusnami gets a 18 on her toughness check, so she will use her HP to reroll, getting a 27, just good enough.

Rising this back up from the grave! (okay, sorta) Ari, hope that was not too much of a steamroll, but want to keep with the momentum and get to the more interesting parts of the story!

Cape, Synapse should be at 1 HP, she spent one to jury-rig the Ministry's power system back on
