  1. Giang had not really needed Serge's conformation regarding the collars, but it was still good to have it just the same. She had simply remained calm and still as the restraints and power suppressors were removed, making her way into her cell when directed by one of the guards. Once the forcefield was back in place and the guards began to withdraw, the Asian teen lowered her head slightly and let out a deep sigh. Hearing Serge's questions, she looked back up as she responded. "My friends, I am very sorry, for you have both been drawn into something which concerns me." She then began a more direct answer to Serge's questions. "The fire we responded to was a trap, one designed to capture me. Why both of you were taken as well I am not sure of, perhaps Lady Shen felt that if she also had some of my friends under her power she might better be able to ensure my good behavior." "Whatever the case, all of this involves, at least indirectly, my family and its connections. Unless I am mistaken, Lady Shen reports to the same master my father does, the criminal mastermind known as Dr. Sin."
  2. GM With the three teens appearing to be cowed by the threat of harm from the collars, confirmed by one of their own, some of the guards proceed to remove the restraints on each of them, as well as the means by which their powers had been suppressed. Once freed of those, each of the teens felt their powers surge back into place, though their situation was still rather dire given the collars around their necks and those on their friends. The three were then directed into a cell of their own and then the forcefields were reactivated. In addition to the simple metal furniture that was attached in place, the teens found a bowl of warm rice and vegetables on the small desks. Once each teen was secure in their cells, the guards withdrew from the hallway. Serge and Tsunami were not certain whether they simply moved back to the control room or had left the cellblock altogether. Subtio was able to hear the door to the block open and what sounded like most of the guards that had accompanied them leave.
  3. And another merc bites the dust!
  4. Okay, need that Fort save from Blue Jay, then on to... Round Two 29 Blue Jay (2 HP, Unharmed) 24 Blodeuwedd (2 HP, Unharmed) 17 Raven (Bound and Helpless) 12 Crow (1 HP, Unharmed, Coat is suffering fatigue (-2 ranks to all powers until repaired)) 8 Warden Jay is up (dependent upon result of Fort save though)
  5. Tiff, a couple minor things I notice right off (mainly seem to be where some things did not get fully edited based on your changes) First, in the combat block. Given all the different options she has and how things will be different, you might want to separately indicate what your attack and defenses will be. Looking at her build, I think you have three different sets, her attack/defense normally (or when using density), her attack/defense when using growth (for at max size, she has a -2 to each) and her attack/defense when shrunk (which you seem to account for). Might be good to more clearly indicate like so: Attack: Normal: +6, +10 unarmed; Grown: +4, +8 unarmed; Shrunk: +8, +12 unarmed Similarly, you might want to more clearly designate how her defense and knockback change when she uses her different powers. And one last thing in this block, as you have her now, at max density she will have +11 Str bonus and +10 unarmed attack, so she slightly breaks her cap there. Second, small things in the Saving Throw block. Under toughness, you list only +3 from Growth/Density, when it should be +4 (you have the total correct). Third, under powers: For Grue Nature, I am not sure why you still list the base power as dynamic when none of the others are? I think you meant to drop that so you have a 24 point pool with four alt powers correct? (you need to update the first line, making the array 12 ranks with 24 PP, which is clearly how you calculated everything). On the Shrinking Alt, you still have Slow Fade in there. As for designing the Mother Unit, maybe looking at Midnight for how Giz built Redbird and the Midnight Cycle might be helpful?
  6. Okay, Tusnami is going to use Defensive Attack to shift -2 from atk and add +2 to def (boosting her defense to 22). Still leaves her with an attack of +8 with her blast. Are the guys in the back minions? If so, she will Take 10 (18) to blast one (aiming to trying to knock him into one of the others and hopefully take that second one out as well). The DC is 25 (the blast being +12 for knockback purposes). If I need to roll to hit, let me know.
  7. Giang felt the spear deflect off the layer of water that swirled around her but was otherwise uninjured by the attack. A gunshot echoed faintly from somewhere else on the ship, a likely indication that Thaelia had encountered yet another of Natas' mercenaries. He certainly seemed to employ quite a few, though it appeared likely that very few were still in any condition to fight. That was indeed a good thing, as the Asian teen felt as if she was having difficulty enough with the mercenary leader without any of his hirelings appearing to fight her as well. Sliding to a halt, Giang turned back to squarely face Natas once more, sweeping both hands forward in his direction. The jet of twisting water once again found its mark, striking Natas squarely on the side as he tried to dodge aside. This time, the mercenary leader remained on his feet after staggering a few steps from the powerful impact and letting out a slight grunt of pain.
  8. Round Twenty 20 Tsunami (bruised, fatigued 1 HP) 20 Glamazon (unharmed) 17 Natas (3 bruised) 13 Merc 15 Same, -2 atk/+2 def. She hits with a 21. This time Natas does better on his toughness save, getting a 24, which is still worth a bruise. Glam is up!
  9. The guard took Fulmen's business card and license, examining them for a moment before stepping away slightly and bringing a radio up to speak into. Fulmen could hear him calling in about a delivery of ice sculptures and wanting to confirm that some had been ordered. A few moments passed when he got the confirmation. Using this time to get a bit of a feel for the area, Fulmen reached out with sense far beyond those of a normal person. Below the docks, he could feel the gentle currents of the South River, as it flowed out towards the Great Bay and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. There was nothing particularly unusual about the currents and tides, and the water in the area was no dirtier than was common for the river. The laboratory building in front of him had well regulated air and heating systems, creating a rather still environment, in contrast to the cold breeze whipping around the exterior of the building. There were rooms that were particularly still, with reduce ionization in the air and lower temperatures, like some sort of clean room laboratories. Given the slight variations in air flow throughout the building, it seemed likely there were a number of people still inside, the largest number currently gathered in a large room on the main floor. The guard stepped back up next to the van and returned Fulmen's card and license. "Alright, you've been cleared to enter. Next time be sure to get your delivery order before you take over the normal guy's run." He stated. "But we still need to check out the back."
  10. Okay, sorry for dragging my feet SOOOO long on this, but finally getting us moving once more. Warden’s notice check (enhanced by sensors set up within the building): 34. Down in the entryway, two guns drop down from ceilings in the hallways and start shooting at Blue Jay with full auto, one hits, one misses. The one that hits connects with all five stun shells, so a DC 22 Fort save for Blue Jay. For Blod, if she stays in the room, she can either hold her breath (which she can do for a number of rounds equal to her CON stat before needing to make any Fort saves) or risk breathing in the gas and dealing with whatever effect it has.
  11. Stepping through the portal, Blodeuwedd found herself in an approximately ten-by-ten foot room with a ceiling that must be about twenty feet high. The walls were unadorned and plain white. There was a metal door along one wall, which was to Blod's left, and what looked like some sort of opening about ten feet up along the right hand wall. A figure was suspended up in the air near that higher opening in the wall, wrapped up in what appear to be some sort of netting. Several cables attached to the netting from higher on the walls. The figure was struggling, but thus far seemed unable to free itself from the bindings. Outside, Crow studied the interiors of the building more closely, looking for more details than he had previously been able to note. Focusing a bit closer on some of the numerous heat sources, Crow realized that part of what he had been seeing was numerous cameras, spaced throughout the building, each with its own independent power source. He also was able to spot a network of pressure plates scattered throughout the building, either triggers for various traps…or a system for detecting vibration or changes in weight on the floor. In the dark control room, Warden was observing the monitors around him as an alarm began to flash and he glanced at the monitors showing the room where he currently had Raven trapped. There appeared to be something else in the room with the heroine, but he could not tell exactly where it was. The weight sensors certainly had detected the arrival of someone. "Well, well." He said over the microphone in front of him, his voice echoing throughout the building. "It seems we have another teenager come to call (shouldn't you be in school?) and someone that does not wish to be seen." His hands began to play across the controls in front of him as he fully activated the systems still hidden in place within the building. "Let us see how they fare shall we?" He stated, his voice again broadcast throughout the building. Up where Blod and Raven were, a metal door slammed into place in front of the opening further up the wall and vents opened on the walls (located at the base and halfway up the walls) from which a yellowish gas began to hiss forth. Down in the entryway, Blue Jay spotted a pair of guns that dropped down from the ceilings, one in each of the hallways leading out away from the entryway. Both opened fire on the bow wielding teen, firing multiple shots. One failed to track Blue Jay's agile movements, the five small round shells fired from the gun flying wide and impacting along a wall with small sparks of electricity. The other however adjusted more smoothly, all five of the stun shells sticking the teenager. Blue Jay felt each of the impacts as her body jolted slightly from the electrical shocks of each of them…
  12. GM "Quite youth!" One of the guards stated in heavily accented English as he cuffed Serge on the side of the head with the back of his hand. "You are prisoners of the Lady Shen and alive only at her mercy." The guard holding Serge by the upper part of his right arm gave him a little push to keep him moving as the group continued on back down the ornately decorated hallway to the elevator they had taken up from the underground hanger below. The group took the elevator back down underground a couple of levels, exiting to another sleek and futuristic hallway with the curved walls and unnervingly bright lighting. After traveling some ways down the hall, they came to a heavy steel door at which a pair of guards dressed in the same black and grey gi like uniforms as those escorting the teens, armed with some sort of energy rifles stood at either side. The leader of the group stepped up and used some sort of key card on a control panel to the right of the door to open it. Beyond the door was a midsized room with a central control station on a raised platform at which a number of the guards were standing, overlooking the various control panels in front of them. A number of other guards were standing along the perimeter of the room, each armed with energy rifles like those wielded by the two in the hallway. There was a hallway off the left side of the room, it was in that direction that the teens were led by the guards guiding them, a number of the rifle armed guards following along. Off the hallway were a number of small rooms that were clearly holding cells of some sort. Each cell had thick stone walls with simple metal furniture, a simple pad laid out on the bed fixed to the wall. Instead of doors, each was enclosed by what appeared to be some sort of forcefield. The teens were each halted in front of a cell, the forcefields deactivating at each. The guard who had been leading the procession since the hanger stepped forward to where he could be seen by each teen and spoke up in his heavily accented English. "We will be removing the dampeners, but do not think to try anything. Those collars around your neck are capable of causing intense pain and even death. Try to escape, and you will pay the price. Or one of your friends might." He stated. Then, a wicked smile came to his face as he added. "And tampering with them would be inadvisable as well. They are bobby trapped."
  13. Giang remained motionless as she listened to Lady Shen, a sense of dread creeping over her as the elderly woman reveled that she did indeed know who the Asian teen was, even if she did not appear to work directly for the girl’s father. Of course, that seemed to suggest that Lady Shen instead worked directly for the same master Giang's own father was at least somewhat subservient to. Despite the these feelings, and ones of deep concern for her friends who had been caught up in her troubles, Giang had remained poised and firm while Lady Shen had spoken with her and removed the small mask the Asian teen had chosen to wear during her patrol with her classmates. As they were dismissed, she allowed the guards who moved forward to guide her back to the others and then out of the room once more. She was relieved as Serge seemed to come back fully to his senses, coughing some as he tried to take in his surroundings and speaking up in his confusion. Giang was about to provide a quite answer, but was quickly cut off by one of the guards…
  14. GM Coming to a halt once more after dodging another of those powerful blast of water, Natas realized that he likely needed to wrap things up quickly. While they were underway, the longer he took with the Asian teen, the more chances that the Atlantean teen could get free and cause more trouble. As he thought about it, he realized he had not gotten a report of her being eliminated from one of his men. "Is the Atlantean dealt with?" He asked over the radio as he raised his speargun and fired another razor tipped spear at Giang. This time his aim was true, the spear striking the teenager as she tried to dodge the attack. But once again the shimmering sheen of water that surrounded her lithe form deflected the projectile with little ill effect to the girl. Up on the bridge, Thealia arrived to find one of the mercenaries present, stationed behind the controls of the vessel. "The Atlantean is on the bridge!" He called out over the radio as he spotted her reflection in the window in front of him. He then turned and drew a pistol which he quickly levelled at the teen. The gunshot echoed in the confined space and the man's aim was true, but despite having been out of the water for a minute or so thus far, the Atlantean's natural durability was still sufficient to cause the bullet to glance without any significant injury.
  15. Natas attacks Giang again, hitting with a 23. Giang manages to make her toughness save with a 25. Merc 15 shots a pistol at Thaelia as she enters the bridge. Hitting with a 24. So a DC 18 toughness save for Thaelia.
  16. Giang saw Thaelia easily deal with the mercenary who had appeared to attack her, but then had to quickly focus back on Natas as she ducked underneath the sharp tipped spear he fired at her. The Asian teen then felt the ship begin to start forward. The last thing they wanted to do was let the ship get far from its current location, as the Atlanteans were likely to come looking for it and them sometime soon. While she had managed to stop a ship larger than this from moving before, Giang could not currently turn her attention to trying to do the same here given she was locked in combat with the mercenary leader. She would have to trust that Thaelia would seek a way to get the vessel halted. With that in mind, the Asian teen brought her hands back up in front of her and sent yet another powerful blast of water at Natas. This time the mercenary leader was able to dodge aside, and the jet of water slammed into the bulkhead of the ship, creating a large dent.
  17. Round Nineteen 20 Tsunami (bruised, fatigued 1 HP) 20 Glamazon (unharmed) 17 Natas (2 bruised) 16 Merc 14 13 Merc 15 Rinse and repeat, -2 atk/+2 def. This time Tsunami misses badly with a 10. Glamazon is up, figure she can take a full round action to find her way up to the bridge where there is one merc.
  18. Okay, rolling for all the thugs. Round One 25 Revenant (unharmed) 19 Hound (unharmed) 18 Crimson Tiger (unharmed, 3 HP) 18 Thug 3 15 Thug 2 14 Bloody Mess (unharmed, 1 HP) (but also unaware of what is going on at the moment) 13 Thug 1 13 Thug 4 6 Jack 5 Malcom Tiff, went back and looked through the OOC, and Lucy spent her hero point at the warehouse fight to get Takedown attack. Rev is up!
  19. Having decided some potential avenues for pursuing their few leads, the trio made their way out of the agency and to the Caddy. Lucy took with her a few of the hair samples Harry and Freddy had gathered at the crime scene. Harry and Freddy dropped Lucy off at Kendall Station, located at the edge of Greenback as it was on their way towards Greenville. From there, Lucy was able to hope on the M Line of Freedom City's subway system, which would take her to Riverside. A short while later, the two detectives arrived at the apartment complex in Greenville where Lance Ricks lived. Meanwhile, in Riverside... Lucy had reached Riverside, the waterfront section of the city that had a bohemian, Old World charm about it and was popular with students, young adults and artists. It was not a long walk from the subway station to the house of Rene DeSaens.
  20. GM Despite the powerful impact of Giang's water blast, Natas managed to hold onto his weapon this time. So when he managed to clear his vision once more of the stars created by the impact, he was able to quickly load one of the razor tipped spears into the weapon as he snarled beneath his opaque faceplate and climbed back to his feet. The spear tip glinted in the bright Mediterranean sun as it streaked through the air at the Asian teen, but the agile young woman was already twisting aside, easily ducking under the attack before sliding to one side to prepare for her counter attack. Then, the engines up to full power, the large ship began to start forward, slowly picking up speed as it went.
  21. This time Natas holds on to his speargun. He gets back up and shoots at Tsunami once more. Missing badly with a 16.
  22. Nope he's down. Post away!
  23. Both of the two men smirked slightly at Lucy's comments about Harry getting queasy. "Well, that's just too bad." The blond haired one replied. "Don't have the guts to handle watching the fights?" Continued the other. "Once your down here, you stay till the event is over." The blond went on. "Now get back in the room, as you can see, we have a small situation here." The second finished as he and his blond companion pushed past Lucy and Harry, edging them towards the door they just exited, to move in the direction of Crimson Tiger.
  24. Giang quickly reoriented herself as the black smoke caused by the explosion dissipated. She saw Natas preparing to reload his speargun once more, but also saw that Thaelia was free and back on her feet, though engaged by another of mercenaries. The Asian teen was feeling tired from having pushed her powers in some of the previous encounters, and she was not sure she could take another hit like that last one. But she had to keep the mercenary leader’s focus on her for the moment. Moving off to her right to circle slightly around the deck, forcing Natas to turn away from where Thaelia was, Giang once again brought her hands in front of her and sent a blast of water flying at the mercenary. This time, her accuracy was better and the twisting coils of water slammed into Natas’ chest and sent him flying backward once more. The mercenary slammed into the bulkhead of the main part of the ship, collapsing to the deck soaking wet and in another pool of water. As with the first attack, he was a bit slow to rise, but soon seemed to focus himself once more. While he was still conscious, and thus a thread, Giang had a slight feeling of encouragement at having been able to knock the man off his feet once again. Perhaps a couple more times, and he would stay down.
  25. Round Eighteen 20 Tsunami (bruised, fatigued 1 HP) 20 Glamazon (unharmed) 17 Natas (2 bruised) 16 Merc 14 13 Merc 15 Okay, one more time with the -2 atk/+2 def. She hits again with a 22. Natas once again misses his toughness save with a 19, again bruised and dazed. Again, I remove the daze and Tsunami gets a hero point.
