1. Good byes were made by those family members for whom a spirit had appeared, with some of the others also joining in the farewells in a few cases. When the spirits vanished as Nick released them, many of the family remained where they were seated, staring in the spaces that had just been inhabited by their departed relatives. Gretchen, however, quickly got back to her feet and made her way out of the room with some haste, apparently not wanting to remain there any longer than was necessary. Sergio also did not linger on the spirits of the departed, but instead brought his wheelchair over towards Nick as the young hero mentioned wanting to look at any arcane lore the family might have collected over the years. "It is gathered up in my study Mr. Cimitiere. Jonathan and I can lead you there if you wish. We have a bit of time before dinner." Like several of his relatives, Vince looked at the space the spirit of his deceased father had just occupied for a few long moments before shaking his head and getting back to his feet. Making his way back over towards Carmen, his charming smile back in place once again. "Well, that certainly was quite a show huh?" He stated. "Should we get back to finishing up the interview until the next time they want us together for some more of Nick's magic?"
2. Okay, sorry I have let this sit so long, work got busy and I have put off getting this running once again once things became more manageable there. TT, as I indicated, there is no real reason to spend the hero point on buying off fatigue now, there is more than enough time before the curse is set to arrive for Nick to recover from the fatigue.
3. The officers that came over to take the costumed criminal from Solar Sentinel nodded at his warning, one of the stating, "thanks, we will be sure to be careful till some of the STAR squad guys get here." He then turned to answering the hero's other questions, answering the one about the first arriving officer first. "The others should be alright, they do not appear to seriously injured." "But those that fled in the van you called in about are still out there." He then paused and smiled slightly. "But, they don't know that some of the money they took had a tracer hidden inside, so we are tracking them. Better to wait till they get to where they are going and then bring them in, rather than risk someone getting hurt trying to stop them on the road. There are a couple squad cars following along well behind, staying out of sight."
4. "Well, both of those places are a bit too public for me, even at this hour." Velocity replied when Hronos had returned her call. "How about meeting me over at Freedom Hall, I will be there in a couple of seconds anyway." She stated as she was almost finished passing through Pennsylvania. By the time she was off the phone with Hronos, Velocity had already reached the outskirts of Freedom City, so it was barely a second before she reached Freedom Hall in the heart of the city center. The speedster had to slow down a bit to ensure the security protocols all identified her, but was soon inside. Velocity took a few moments to check if any of the other auxiliary members were available at the moment, but learned they were all currently unavailable. She briefly considered seeing if any other League members might be able to help out, but for the moment decided against it. Instead she waited for Hronos to arrive, having alerted the League's automated receptionist "Cynthia" that he should be arriving soon.
5. It took Solar Sentinel only a few moments to return to the scene of the robbery carrying the unconscious supercriminal. When the glowing hero arrived, he saw several other police cars had reached the scene during his pursuit of the costumed criminal. Some of the newly arrived officers were providing first aid to the injured officers who had arrived at the scene with Sentinel, as the EMTs had yet to arrive. The other officers had secured the unconscious robbers that had been left behind at the scene or securing the bank. A couple of officers had turned to regarded the glowing hero as he came down to land, their hands reaching for their sidearms, but then relaxing as they appeared to recognize the hero.
6. Okay, need a couple concentration rolls for pumpkin head, he makes the one to keep his flight active, and also makes the one to keep his Aura shield up. So, Round Nine 19 Jack o’ Lantern (2 bruised, dazed) 16 Thug 5 11 Solar Sentinel (2 HP, bruised) 9 Thug 6 8 Thug 4 6 Thug 3 He of course was dazed, and could not do anything. In response to Solar’s next attack, he BOMBS his Toughness save! So he is unconscious, his Aura and flight turn off. You can go ahead and post blasting him through the windows of a nearby office building.
7. If the costumed criminal had realized his mistake given Solar Sentinel's tone as the hero closed once again, the bizarre pumpkin head mask betrayed not such revelation. The villain had just been turning back around to face Solar when he was struck squarely in the chest by another blast from the hero. Solar heard a satisfying grunt of pain as the pumpkin headed villain was sent tumbling a good hundred feet through the air. Eventually he managed to right himself, mostly, and the flames still surrounded his body. But he otherwise appeared too disoriented to either follow up on his threat or launch any other attack against Solar Sentinel, who continued to close.
8. Well, the pieces in SW2 were not a complete Stopwatch, just fragments of the prototype (I am not certain the whole was a stopwatch in fact, though Cape can clarify). In any case we had three pieces to deal with, assuming Hronos kept the one he already had, that left the one found by Steed (which she did not want to keep ahold of considering the trouble it created, and anyway, was getting Velocity's help to try to clear up her legal issues with the US government) and the one the Russians had foud and also turned over to us. There is also the improved Stopwatch, which Robert weilded in the first thread, that Velocity and the Freedom League had secured.
9. Only slightly better for the Civics roll, a 20. So Vahn, we need to decide where all the parts of the prototype were placed. I guess Hronos kept the one he already had?
10. Velocity only gets a 17 on her Gather Info roll.
11. Pumpkin head gets a 18 on his Toughness save, so he gets another bruise and is dazed.
12. Megan's mind was racing, working thousands of times faster than a normal persons. The group in the future had for some reason decided to take Robert, most likely to that null-time space they had once kidnapped her to. Were they going to try to us him as leverage to get ahold of the Stopwatch or its prototype device? Had they decided on a more radical approach to trying to stop Collapse from being born in various timelines by removing his father from the timeline? The speedster felt her stomach sink at the thought of that. She had to try to do something to rescue Robert, and an idea came to mind in what to most would have appeared hardly any time at all. Megan was moving once again in a blur, speeding down the covered breezeways between the pavilions at the heart of the compound to the master bedroom pavilion. Once inside her and Robert's master bedroom, she quickly stopped at her laptop, sending off a quick message to the staff at the resort on the island, who provide the cleaning and upkeep services for her and Robert's property. The message indicated that they did not need any cleaning services that day (sort of the electronic equivalent of a "do not disturb" sign). It would not be the first time this week the couple had sent such a message. A split second after the message was sent, she was dressed in her costume as Velocity. Checking to be sure she had the cellphone she used in costume and her Freedom League communicator as well as enough of the steel ball bearings she could use as hypersonic projectiles, she then sped back to the main pavilion, cleaning up the food and other mess Robert had gotten out for their lunch in the blink of an eye. Seconds later, she was hundreds of miles away, running across the surface of the Pacific Ocean back towards the West Coast of the United States. At top speed, she should be able to be back in Freedom City in less than ten minutes. Taking out her phone, she called the number she had for Hronos.
13. 19 Jack o’ Lantern (bruised) 16 Thug 5 11 Solar Sentinel (2 HP, bruised) 9 Thug 6 8 Thug 4 6 Thug 3 The supercriminal attacks Solar again, but misses with a 11. As the thugs in the van are going elsewhere, Solar is up!
14. After managing to shrug off Solar Sentinel's latest blast, the fiery pumpkin headed villain continued flying over the South River and over into the Waterfront section of downtown Freedom. As he went, he sent another focused blast of light at the glowing hero, but once again missed the intended target. As Solar continued along after him, the villain turned back to call out. "It appears we could row all night 'ero. But seein' we are getting' ta more crowded parts o' the city, maybe it might be best for us ta just go our separate ways." He added, gesturing towards nearby buildings. "Wouldn' do for me ta accidently light up one o' these places now would it?"
15. As Lucy made her way to her friend with the battered packing label for the crate that had contained the stolen statue, Harry and Freddy piled back into the battered Caddy and made their way back to the agency. Once there, Harry dug out his old forensics kit, with a slightly rusty microscope, as he began to examine the hairs he and Freddy had found all around the scene. After running a number of tests and observations, Harry was certain the hair was human, though it had some unusual properties. For one thing, the hairs were far more durable than an individual strands should be. By the time Lucy had returned from visiting her friend Lin, Harry had completed his tests. Lin had been able to translate the label readily enough, but it contained nothing other than what one would expect for a packing label, the shipper, destination, location packed, and the like.
16. Dee flipped all the blueprints back into their original order, having finished memorizing everything on them. Given what she had seen, there was a lot for her to think about, but it sounded as if she would have some time to do so. "I am not sure I know how to play a 'damsel in distress." She stated flatly as she finished the task. She then looked back up at Young Britannia and Jasmine. "Well, I have seen all I need to with these. If we are intent on hunting down the reclusive vigilante, I suppose we might as well get started."
17. Pumpkin Head gets another very good Toughness save with a 27. Go ahead and post IC.
18. Megan's smile remained in place as Robert offered to make them both something for lunch, even if it was more breakfast style. "I would imagine swimming that many laps would get dull very quickly." She commented as she instead slipped on her nearby sunglasses and settled into the lounge chair, applying a fresh coat of sunscreen to relax in the warm sun while she waited for lunch. Lying there in the warm sun, it was easy to lose track of time, something that was not necessarily a good thing for Megan. Unlike Robert, she had no internal clock letting her know exactly what time it was. Instead, her powers tended to give her a rather different view of time, where the passage of a few seconds could seem like hours instead. Sitting up and looking back towards the windows of the main pavilion, Megan looked for any sign of Robert, wondering if she had let herself slip into operating far faster than the world around her did. Of course, her watch was sitting in the safe in the master bedroom pavilion, as she had had little need for it over the week. After a few nanoseconds of internal debate, Megan stood up and walked across the large deck to the nearest entrance to the main pavilion, which was sitting open. The living room and dining room area was a floor above, this floor holding some guest rooms, restrooms, smaller seating areas and the large kitchen. "Robert?" Megan called out as she started down the hallway towards the kitchen. The large section of the house was ominously quite, causing a hint of paranoia to stir at the edge of the young blonde’s mind. "Robert?" She called out again as she reached the entrance the kitchen, stepping into the large spacious area just in time to spot Robert sprawled on the floor with several of the ingredients for their lunch scattered around him. Kneeling beside him was a man dressed in the futuristic jumpsuit that she had seen some of the time agents wear back in Switzerland. “Stop!†She yelled out, as she started off in a blur of speed towards the pair. But as fast as Megan was, the time agent was already activating some device, and both he and Robert faded from sight just as she reached them to grab at nothing but empty air. "NO!" Megan screamed a she became an almost impossible to see blur of movement, trying to grab at every square inch of empty space throughout the thousands of square feet within the main pavilion. It took her less than a second to cover everywhere inside the pavilion (as well as a fair bit of the deck and walkways beyond) that someone could possibly standing invisible, let alone be while holding another unconscious invisible person. Coming to a halt once more in one of the walkways between the main pavilion and another part of the compound, the realization came to Megan that Robert and his abductor had not simply gone invisible. More likely, Robert had been taken someplace else, or more accurately, some other time.
19. "Yeah, well, I believe that is the point isn't it." The other fighter replied to Freddy's comment about what was planned for Benito. When Freddy decided to be even more blunt on the subject, the other fighter stopped his warm ups a moment to look over at the stocky private eye. "I think they have him locked up down here somewhere, not sure where though." He replied in a low voice. He paused a moment, and then added, "it is probably not a good idea to show too much interest in him, you know?"
20. Megan listened with a slight feeling of concern as Robert talked about the Stopwatch and how it had somehow provided him an ability to instantly know what time it was. But she was glad that some of the other effects from possessing the device had continued to fade some with time. Allowing herself to be drawn closer, she returned the kiss and then gave a sly smile. "What use is being able to know what time it is if you still miss meals?" She teased. "But I could probably do with some lunch." She then added with a wider smile.
21. Here! (and already there as well!)
22. Wakaya Island, Fiji Friday October 25, 2013; 11:33 AM local time (Freedom City time: 7:33 PM (Thursday October 24, 2013)) The late morning sun shone brightly in the sky over the small Fijian island of Wakaya. With the "cool" season coming toward an end, the day was turning out to be pleasantly warm, the temperature already approaching eighty degrees. Megan Howell glided through the water of the large infinity pool located on the spacious main deck of the large compound situated on the highest point of Wakaya. Dubbed Rai Ki Wai, Megan and Robert Howell had acquired the property a little over a month ago at a rather reasonable price, considering the size and quality of the property. This last week had been their first real chance to enjoy their new vacation home, other than a four day weekend back at the end of September. The decision to purchase the property with Robert had felt like something of a major move for the young woman. After all, it had only been about seven or so months since they had renewed their relationship, after nearly a year apart. Of course, Megan blamed that year apart on her on mishandling of things in regard to her identity as the superheroine Velocity. If she had not kept that a secret from Robert while they had been at Cambridge together, she was rather certain they would have recently celebrated two years together. Of course, the decision to purchase Rai Ki Wai together had also been made a bit easier by the knowledge that, at least in some timelines, she and Robert married. But that knowledge also came with the burden of knowing that in a number of those timelines (and perhaps even others where they did not marry), they had a son that would develop terrible powers. That possibility had made Megan consider not reconciling with Robert when he had initially indicated his desire to do so. But discussing the issue with a few fellow members of the Freedom League and their allies in the superhero community in Freedom City had convinced her otherwise. As she neared one of the stairs from the pool, the young blonde woman put her feet back under her, touching the bottom of the pool and standing back up out of the water slightly as she walked the rest of the way and up the stairs to the polished teak deck. Picking up a towel she had left nearby, Megan began to dry herself off as she made her way across the deck towards a row of lounge chairs overlooking the ocean. Seated in one of the chairs was Robert, the young English lord apparently in the process of making more edits to a paper he was to be presenting early next month at some scientific society he belonged to back in England. Unable to stop herself from smiling slightly, Megan moved over to take a perch at the edge of the chair beside him, running the fingers of one hand through his short blond hair. "You know, you have a long plane ride home early next week, not to mention several days once your back, to finish that up." She stated with a grin.
23. For Queen and Country, by Trollthumper's hand Spending 6 of Synapse's 12 unspent power points. 1) Picking up Improvised Tools (1 pp) 2) Adding a rank to Comprehend (making it understand and speak) (2 pp) 3) Spending the last three on skill points (12): adding 4 ranks to Computers; 6 ranks to Disable Device; and 2 ranks to Kn: Technology
24. Now that everyone was safely back in the warmth of the research station and all three parts of the device were accounted for, Velocity allowed herself to give a tired sigh. She glanced nervously over at Robert, both glad that he did not seem effected by any exposure, but also concerned about how he might be feeling with all three parts of the device so close to one another. She then looked back to Captain Lvov as he spoke. While the speedster did not particularly like being shot at, it was far from the first time. But more importantly, the little incident with Boris had actually managed to bring about a quicker resolution to the custody of the last piece of the device than Velocity had believed would be possible. "Well, that is acceptable I supposes." She replied, trying to act as if she was grudgingly consenting to how the Russians wanted to clean up the incident, glancing over at Boris. She then looked back to the captain, giving him a wide smile. "Well, I certainly will be pulling for you to end up in someplace like Fiji or Cuba over Siberia." "I guess we are pretty much done here then."
25. Implied, one thing to note on your array, there is no such feat as Rapid Attack. Rapid Attack is in fact an alter power off Superspeed (or more specifically the array built into Superspeed). For one thing, you have not spent any points on the array part of Superspeed (or the Improved Initiative piece either) (and could not have an array within an array anyway as they are forbidden under house rules here). If you want to have Rapid Attack (where you get an area attack representing superspeed punching lots of opponents in the area), you would need to buy it as a separate alt power in your array (the special effect would be quickly running (or even flying) between all the various targets to hit them). For an example on how to build that power, you can look at my character Velocity, who has it in her superspeed array.
