  1. Doing his best to keep from panicking now that he and Freddy were up on the top of the crane, Harry began to sniff around. It took a few moments, but he was able to catch a whiff of the perfumed scent, but it appeared to be out on the long arm of the crane, somewhere that Harry was certainly not willing to go. Being the braver (or more foolhardy depending on who you asked) of the pair, Freddy climbed out onto the crane's arm. Though he was not able to smell the scent that Harry was detecting, he did find more of strands of long brown hair caught onto crossbeams of the crane's arm.
  2. Cape, actually, Velocity still has an stunted power in play (Stunted off Speed 10 and never shut down), dropping her Speed to 9, but giving her Immunity 1 (Cold Environment)- representing vibrating her molecules to keep herself warm. She will use her other and run over to where she sees the ATU’s footprints ending and unleash a lot of punches in the area around it (say 40’ in each direction). So, it has a DC 20 Reflex save to reduce the damage. If it succeeds, DC 20 toughness save, otherwise a DC 25 toughness save (and it is already at -2 from prior damage!)
  3. Velocity gets a 60 for initiative.
  4. Velocity zipped into the cafeteria area of the Russia research base, Robert still draped over her shoulders in a fireman's carry. The speedster was surprised to find that Hronos was no longer there, having agreed to initially wait where he was to keep his part of the crystal from the others. Where could he be? She thought to herself as she set Robert down on top of one of the tables in the room. Thankfully it was warm enough in the building that he should be fine, particularly given the survival gear he had on from the Pegasus. Velocity paused briefly (at least by her standards), to gently stroke Robert's check with the back of her hand before she was off in a yellow blur, starting back towards the cave to get one of the other two unconscious individuals in out of the cold.
  5. "I've been to the Haven once myself." Dee commented, her tone rather neutral as they continued on their way towards the site of the disturbance reported by the Ministry security. "But I remember the layout well enough, unfortunately I did not have any chance to study the security systems during that visit." "But as for teleporting straight in, given that there is always the possibility that someone else may have gained access to the Haven and overridden the prior security controls, the system might not recognize you any longer. So before we teleport into the middle of a defense system set on lethal protocols, we might want to try enter normally first to at least give us an idea of what to expect if we do have to resort to teleporting in."
  6. We are on our way there Roo.
  7. Dee gave a small smile as she managed to restore power (at least for the moment), not really mindful of Cruxberry's own small grin. When Young Britannia introduced herself, Dee gave a small nod. "Dee Farrington, and actually, I signed on a little over half a hour ago, so you're not alone." She stated, before adding, "not that I have any desire to be in charge of anything." As the report about Professor Blackpool came over the radio, Dee started off after Cruxberry as he began to lead them towards the scene. "I have already had the chance to look over some of the Ministry's files on the Vanguard members." Dee stated to Young Britannia as they went. "But not much of use in them. It seems that one of our first priorities will be to try to get access to The Haven, to see what clues might be there."
  8. Synapse spends the hero point to jury rig the repair, getting a 30 on her Craft: electronics (or mechanical if needed, as they are the same).
  9. Dee smirked slightly at Smith's comments to Cruxberry. "I do have a name you know." She stated before she turned back to the damaged power system when Cruxberry indicated it would be good to try to get the power back on. "Alright then, let's give this a go." The young woman pulled open a side of the counsel in front of her and began looking for the best means of getting around the damage caused by the sabotage. Spotting the best likely means of getting around the damage, she begins making the necessary adjustments, pulling some wires from one location to another while removing a couple altogether. After several long moments of work, she finishes up and moves over to the reset switch. "Well, let's hope that was good enough."
  10. Despite the darkness the pair was able to make their way to the doorway out of the garage thanks to Dee's recollection of where she had seen it just before the lights had gone out. However, once they were through the door things became more difficult, as she had no idea where they were going next. They eventually managed to reach the level where Smith indicated the power systems for the building were located. Things became a bit easier, when a glowing figure in a Union Jack stylized costume appeared down by the door to the power room along with another figure. This allowed Dee and Smith to speed up a bit, and they reached the room shortly after the pair had entered. Dee soon reached the door to the room and entered to find the two figures looking at the generator. The young woman made her way into the room, coming up besides the costumed figure. "Thanks for the light, now let me have a look at this." She stated as she knelt down and began to examine the generator. After a few moments, she glanced back at the others in the room. "Well, whoever did this knew what they were doing, and more specifically, was familiar with this system. They did a very good job of shutting this down. To really deal with the damage, most of this is going to have to be completely replaced." She paused briefly before adding, "but, I might be able to getting it working again at least for a short while."
  11. Okay, I’ll post Synapse and Smith spotting the lights from YB and her group ahead and follow them to the power room. Synapse gets a 21 on her Kn: Tech roll.
  12. I am good either way.
  13. "Really?" Asked Dee in a rather surprised tone. "Even though you might have to chase suspects into a dark basement or sewer?" But she said nothing further as Smith indicated that this was likely no mere accident. The sound of him readying his firearm had the young woman on edge, as she brought up a forcefield of telekinetic energy around herself. "Well, I could take a look at the building's power system if we had a way to see where we were going." She stated. "Unless you have any other ideas."
  14. Roo, you should probably do what the rules say for trying to overcome concealment, which is roll a d20, hitting if you get 11 or better.
  15. Okay, sorry for the delay on this. Getting started for the bad guys: Merc 5 takes a shot at Glamazon, hitting with a 23. Natas fires another spear at her as well, also hitting with a 28. Need a DC 20 toughness save and a DC 18 Fort save (against Natas’s stun spear)
  16. Tsunami gets a 26. I am fine with either.
  17. Velocity (13) (5) (1) (7) Tsunami (1) (1) Synapse (12) (12) GM (15) (3 to Synapse to give her 15, 12 to Velocity to give her 25 (poor Tsunami)) (2) (5) (1) (4) (3)
  18. Dee had been following alongside Smith as they made their way through the underground parking garage when suddenly the lights went out and everything was plunged into total darkness. The young woman came to a halt, as she was unable to see a thing and took a moment to reorient herself as best she could to how far she recalled them being from any walls or other vehicles. "This is not a very auspicious start if you lot are having trouble with your power bills." She commented with heavy sarcasm. "You wouldn't happen to have a torch, or any idea what might be going on?"
  19. Okay, here is what happened with the IC post. The security guard watching the cameras had been getting a +5 circumstance bonus on his Notice checks, which Crimson was able to remove when she could dodge the cameras. With shutting off the lights around the stairwell, she was able to offset that bonus for the fixed camera as well. So I gave the security guard a straight Notice check (as there was still enough ambient light from other parts of the garage (and the emergency light in the stairwell)), and he got the best he could, a 23, so he just spotted Crimson. So, now things will get interesting. Thunder, for the moment we need to let a couple things play out for Freddy, Harry and Lucy so they can catch up (and I think things might be getting interesting for them as well)
  20. In the building's main security office, the young security guard sitting in front of the bank of monitors was starting to look forward to the end of his shift. Normally he was able to relax a bit and keep a general eye on the screens. But right now, with what was going on down in the lower levels of the building, he had to keep a close eye out on things, knowing it could well cost him his job (or worse!) if he failed to notice a security breach. So when the lights went out around the stairs and elevator in the underground parking area, he quickly focused on the screen showing that camera, and then called it up onto a larger monitor. As he did so, he picked up a radio on the table near him. "Hey, some lights just went out around the stairs and elevator in the garage. The camera is still working, but I can barely see anything in there." "We'll have someone check it out." Replied a voice with a heavy Jersey accent. The security guard continued to focus on the larger monitor, with occasional glances at the other monitors to be sure nothing else seemed to be happening elsewhere. Less than a minute later, he was looking at the large monitor as she saw a bit of light reflect off the stairwell door as it opened and caught a brief glimpse of a figure that appeared to go into the stairwell. Keying the radio again he said, "hey, have your guys gotten up to the garage yet? I just saw someone go into the stairwell." As Crimson Tiger entered the stairwell, she guided the door shut so that it made only the faintest "click" as it latched close once more. The main lights in this part of the stairwell were out, but an emergency light just above the door had come on. She then started moving down the first flight of stairs, listening for any sounds from below. She almost immediately heard the sound of a male voice carrying up the stairwell. "I can't believe we have to go check out these dumb lights. Can't the rent-a-cops upstairs deal with this?" There was the faint sounds of someone chuckling in response and then saying, "Yeah, well, don't want to…" but whatever else the other man was going to say was cut off by the muffled crackle of what sounded like someone talking through a radio. "What is it?" The second voice stated, and then things went quite down below…
  21. Moving out among the other fighters who were starting to warm up for their coming matches, Freddy moved over to one of the speed bags and began hitting it with masterful speed and precision. As he did so, he tried to glance around some at the other fighters nearby, looking to see if he could spot the young man they were there looking for, but did not see any sign of him. As Lucy approached one of the rough looking guys in a cheap suit that was standing watch nearby, he looked at her appreciatively and then smile slightly as she offered the cigar. "Thanks." He said, taking the offered cigar. As he lit the offered cigar, he gave Lucy a quizzical look at her question. "And who might that be? I know most of the fighters that have made it here, least the ones that are worth anything."
  22. In order to get the shipping label for the crate in question, Lucy had to climb up the stack of cargo containers to the one that had been ripped open. She was able to find the label attached to part of the wooden crate that still barely hung onto the base, but quickly found that it was in Chinese. Now that she had taken the time to climb up to there the statue had been taken from, she took a few moments to look around, both in the ripped open container and the scene below. Given her new vantage point, Lucy felt rather certain that whomever was behind the theft had never even been down on the deck of the Jin Tian, coming in from above instead, be that by flight, teleportation, or some other method of travel. Glancing up, Lucy could see the other stacks of cargo containers up above her, but also visible a few dozen yards away was a large cargo crane that was on the docks and would eventually be used to unload the ship's cargo.
  23. Well, Tsunami only gets a 14, 7, and 10 on her toughness saves as she is caught flatfooted as you state they somehow got a surprise round on us, so I guess she is down.
  24. Okay, as mentioned in chat earlier today, I need a Notice check if you want to try to see anything more in the building (as you need to do better than Taking 10)
  25. Rav, you got a bit ahead of things with your last post, it is not back to Blue Jay just yet. Blod had a saved action and Crow just opened a portal for her into the building (clarify where it goes please Quinn). Also, Warden was up after Crow. So waiting for Tiff to use Blod’s saved action (if she chooses to).
