  1. Velocity followed all the action that was taking place in the room with relative easy, thanks to the three hundred and sixty degree sight her goggles provided her. Asad seemed to have Crimson Crush taken care of for the moment, and while "Mini" Marvelous proved she was more muscle than she initially appeared, Merge still very much seemed in the fight. As Madame Marvelous called out to her, the yellow clad speedster was able to stay just ahead of whatever the villainess was trying to do. "Well, thanks for the concern, but it takes a good bit more than this little bit of running to tire me out." She quipped back as she speed back up onto the stage. As she streaked past the supervillainess, Velocity's right hand shout out, making a loud *CRACK* as it broke the sound barrier. But this time she was not trying to punch Marvelous, at least not directly. Instead, the speedster created a small shockwave with her supersonic punch, trying to stun the other woman. Unfortunately, her timing was off again, and the micro sonic boom missed the intended target as Velocity zipped back through the studio, putting distance between her and Marvelous again.
  2. Under the waves, Tsunami noted that the current that had been guiding the ship along suddenly stopped. There was still a question of what might have been behind that current, but for the moment, the Asian teen took the reprieve to swim up to the surface and look up at the ship to try to get a better idea what was going on. She could not quite see what was going on up on the deck, but could see the flames from the cargo hold. Focusing on some of the water around her, Tsunami took control of it, sending it twisting up into the air like a giant water spout with a few gestures, looking to douse the flames.
  3. With the current stopped, Tsunami will move up to the surface and get a view of what is going on up on the ship. Then she will use her Water Control power to send a bit spout of water up onto the fires she can see.
  4. Okay, rolls: Velocity bombs the Int roll. She gets a 25 on her Fort save. And she gets a 61 on her Initiative roll.
  5. Giang was feeling tired, seeing as she had been up all night providing their method of transportation. But the Asian teen knew that it was important that they find and rescue Subito. Looking up at the stepped city and terraced farmlands of the Incan city, she could not help but fell a sense of wonder at the sight. Hearing Cerys speak up about trying to climb the tower at the top of the mountain, Giang looked over to the other girl. "If the serpents have take control of that tower, then we could have a more serious problem before us, as they likely control the entire city. And we have to get through it to get to that tower."
  6. Velocity will use the Stunning Attack feat of her Strike power on Madame Marvelous. She will Defensive Attack (-3 atk/+3 Defense (for a total of 29)). She only gets a 17, so likely missing again.
  7. Tiff, that actually will miss, as Velocity used boosting her defense to 28.
  8. Velocity will make several Take 20 Notice checks all around, watching for any trouble, for a 29 on the checks.
  9. Velocity had spotted the various women gathered in the crowd, but she had failed to see the stage hand that had been about to try to electrocute the mayor. Thankfully Foreshadow had spotted her and quickly stopped her from completely her task. As Graft moved forward, though to block Foreshadow, and not the mayor who had been the target, the yellow clad speedster was quickly scanning in every direction for any sign of other that were going to try to harm the mayor. At least Graft spoke up in a rather well delivered speech, though Velocity wondered how many understood what he had to say, as it was not in Portuguese.
  10. Giang had smiled slightly when Thaelia suddenly appeared and delivered a powerful blow to the mini-sub which had sent it reeling for a moment. The smile faded slightly when the vessel fired another torpedo at the Atlantean teen, but the feeling of worry that had started to form was quickly dispersed as she saw her friend emerge from the shockwave of the explosion unscathed. The Asian teen then focused her attention on the wake of bubbles that the submarine had left behind on its way back towards the surface. With several powerful strokes, Giang followed after the mins-sub, easily catching it. As she did, the teen brought her hands up in front of her and a blast of water shot forth yet again. The blast twisted through the water, but the mini-sub jerked to the side, the driver weaving as he ascended, causing the blast to just miss the target.
  11. 22 Tsunami (bruised, 1 HP) 20 Glamazon (unharmed, 1 HP) 2 Manta 2 (2 injured) Forgot to mention, but the mini-sub moved 500 feet after shooting the torpedo. Tsunami will follow after it, which she can easily do, and power attack once more (-2 atk/+2 dam), getting a 15, for another miss. Glamazon is up.
  12. I will try to post soon, right now at a very late birthday party for one of my sons.
  13. GM The pilot of the mini-sub managed to right the craft once more after the powerful blow from the Atlantean teen that had just arrived. Several warning lights were lit up inside the cockpit, but overall, the vessel still seemed to be functioning. But things were not going well at all. All the members of Beta squad appeared to be down, and now both these superteens were pressing in on him. Turning the craft slightly to the left, the pilot lined up his torpedo launcher towards the newly arrived threat. Another torpedo shot from the vessel, streaking through the water to explode near Thaelia. But the Atlantean teen was able to twist against the shockwave, avoiding the brunt of it. What did hit her, was easily ignored given her increased durability underwater. But the pilot of the mini-sub had not waited to see what the result of his attack would be. He had already pushed the engines to full power, the propellers of the mini-sub spinning quickly, as it began to ascend in depth, gliding up above the rooftops of the city, back up towards the surface of the sea. "This is Manta 2, breaking off from both teens, have sustained damage, all members of Beta squad are down." He said into the radio as he began to make for the surface. "We are already headed back towards the Python Manta 2, follow as you can, Manta 5 and Zeta squad will divert to assist." Came Natas' cold hard voice.
  14. Right, thanks, forgot that Impervious would allow you to avoid everything if you made the Reflex save.
  15. The nightclub was already packed, the loud base of the house music reverberating through the cavernous and dimly lit main room. Strobe lights and lasers flashed over the large dance floor, providing some additional lighting to the dim neon spaced around the bar and seating areas. As Velocity and Agent Salazar entered the main room, the young woman lightly nudged the Spanish agent, giving a slight nod with her head towards a door along one wall with a large, muscular bouncer standing beside it. Last night, the young speedster had managed to confirm that the door lead to a series of private VIP rooms and seating areas. Of course, confirming this had meant having to deal with a very grabby rich kid. Luckily, she had only had to put with him long enough to confirm what was back there, and then had been able to give him a very satisfying slap before storming out. Agent Salazar nodded in understanding of Velocity's signal, steering the pair towards the bar. Once there, he ordered them drinks and inquired about getting a private room. As he had expected, the bartender apologized that none were available for tonight, but indicated they could get a seat in the section of the seating area that had been roped off from the rest. The Spanish agent paid for one of the tables in the sectioned off area and then he and Velocity made their way over to their table. The pair sat for awhile, sipping their drinks as they scanned the dance floor and otherwise observed the other patrons of the club that they could see, looking for any sign of the rouge superagents. Despite herself, Velocity could feel the steady base of the music starting to get to her, making her want to get out on the dance floor. Luckily, that fit perfectly with Agent Salazar’s plan, allowing the speedster to get out to a different vantage point as they looked for their targets. Taking one last sip of her drink, the young woman got to her feet, and, playing her role, bend down to seemingly give Agent Salazar a kiss on the cheek before seductively sauntering off towards the dance floor. Years of cheerleading in high school for a football team not known for winning games allowed her to put on a believable smile as she reached the press of bodies out on the dance floor, hiding the nervousness and anxiety she actually felt. The steady beat of the music helped as well, as the speedster moved among the mass of people and out towards the middle of the dance floor. Thanks to years of dance lessons, and trips to other night clubs, she was quickly able to gracefully match her movements to the beat of the music. Time began to flow by for Velocity, even with her rather unusual perception of time. But while she usually just allowed herself to focus on the music and have a chance to spend some time operating at normal speed, tonight she could not allow herself to do that. Instead, the young speedster took the opportunity presented by being out on the dance floor to regularly glance around the club, studying everything around her at superspeed, looking for any sign of the rogue superagents.
  16. Giang had remained quiet during the short remainder of the flight, trying to taken in more about their environment and the men that were watching over her and the others. For the moment, they seemed at a distinct disadvantage, particularly without powers, but if they could bind their time, perhaps an opportunity to escape might present itself. While she had little doubt about why she had been captured, she was a lot less sure why Subito and Serge had been taken prisoner as well. Once the aircraft they were in landed and the guards began removing them, Giang did not try to struggle against them. While the guards removed one of the restraints, her hands were still bound tightly behind her back, and her feet were still bound together, though with enough slack that she could manage a shuffling walk. Following down the rope behind Serge, the Asian teen saw that they were in what appeared to be an underground hanger of some sorts. Bright artificial lights were set up along the rocky ceiling, providing the hanger with ample lighting. Waiting down near the base of the ramp were another half dozen of the black and grey clad guards, though these were only armed with sidearms. Serge and the four guards that had led him out were already down near this new group of guards. Being pulled along be the two men holding either arm, Giang had little choice at the moment but to shuffle down the ramp to the others.
  17. GM The men seated around the three teens were now all alert, but otherwise did not react to their regaining consciousness. The cabin was silent, save for the steady hum of electronics and the rumble of the aircraft's engines. Up in the aircraft's cockpit, the two pilots were monitoring their instruments as they began the descent towards their destination, a small, isolated island. When the small island, only a little over ten miles long, came into view, the pilots began to decelerate considerably, dropping the aircraft back down below supersonic speeds as it descended ever lower towards the ocean. The aircraft was approaching the island from the south, heading towards a small section of the island that jutted out along the southeastern side. There, located at the top of some cliffs, a number of buildings, nestled among the jungle that covered much of the rest of the island, were visible thanks to the nightvision built into the cockpits window. Towering above the buildings, in the center of the island, was the ominous shape of an inactive volcano. The aircraft continued to streak some fifty feet above the waves, heading not towards the buildings located at the top of the cliffs, but towards the side of the cliff itself. The aircraft continued to decelerate, as it drew closer to the cliff, an opening appearing in the side of the cliff face. Moments later, the aircraft disappeared into the side of the cliff, rapidly decelerating until it was hovering inside a hollowed out hanger area. The opening along the cliff began to close once again as the pilots brought the aircraft down onto the hanger deck and then began powering it down. Back in the cargo area of the aircraft, the men gathered around the three teens all stood, along with the other six men who had been seated towards the front of the aircraft. Working in pairs, one of the men released Net Fly from the restraint that had been holding him to the jump seat, while the other had his weapon up and trained on the teen. The two then each grabbed one of the teen’s arms, leading him down a rear ramp that had lowered, two other guards following along as well. The process was repeated with Tsunami, and then El Heraldo, until all three teens had been led out of the aircraft.
  18. Rav, you can just move Archer along in your next post as he goes off to find Morgan. Quinn, I will need a post then!
  19. After handing on the phone, Duncan Summers had sat in his office gazing out of one of the windows, lost in thought, occasionally glancing at the credenza below the window, and the pictures set out there of Jasmine, and Callie. When the knock came to his door, he glanced over, slightly surprised Alan had managed to locate any of the students he wanted to see so quickly. "Come in." He called out, turning fully to face the door. When he saw Cerys, he gave her a small nod. "Good morning Ms. Pefr. That was quick, even for Mr. Archer. Please come in and have a seat while we wait for the others." Over in the girls' dormitory… Alan Archer gave Tona a slight smile. "Yeah, normally I would not be up quite yet. But the headmaster needs to see you right away. Cerys as well. I have to be going to find Morgan." The retired superhero turned educator stated.
  20. Saturday, May 5, 2012 Marmaris, Turkey 8:35 PM (EEST); (6:35 PM (BST)) Nestled among low foothills along the southwestern coast of Turkey, not far from the Island of Rhodes, the city of Marmaris boasted long beautiful beaches and clear blue waters, making it a famous tourist resort in the section of Turkish coastline known as the "Turkish Riviera." However, for many, it was not until after the sun set, that Marmaris seemed to fully come alive, as the younger tourists set out to enjoy the city's vibrant nightlife. While the city contained a wide range of venues, from beach front restaurants and bars to bustling terraces for nightclubs or discos, the true center of the city's famous nightlife was Bar Street. Located near the Marmaris marina and only half a kilometer from central Marmaris, Bar Street was a collection of nightclubs and discos where the partying often ran until just before the first light of day. With the wide variety of options available, from dress code parties to laser shows to foam parties, and a host of music genres to choose from, Bar Street regularly drew in thousands of tourists every night. And tonight was no different. Scores of men and women were currently making their way along Bar Street, dressed in an array of club attire. Amongst the various other clubbers, were Velocity and Agent Salazar. The pair had arrived in the city early yesterday evening, renting a small hotel room and spending the night scouting the area around the nightclub where the rogue UNISON agents would be selling the plutonium. Velocity in particular had been the one to go into the nightclub, as well as a few of the other nearby clubs, given she was about the age of the average patron for the clubs. Normally the young woman would have thoroughly enjoyed the chance to check out new clubs, but this time that excitement had been tempered by the seriousness of what she and Agent Salazar were there to do, and the fact that she was not there with Robert. So she had done her best to appear to be someone out for some dancing and fun, while artfully rebuffing the various advances she had received over the night. From what she had seen, Marmaris certainly warranted a return trip with Robert, assuming their relationship survived this weekend. The nightclub, Switch, was located right in the middle of bar street. Based on what they had learned the night before, the plan was for the two of them to make their way into the club in civilian clothes until they could locate the plutonium. While Velocity did not particularly like the idea, she had been unable to think of a better way to try to locate it, at least not without possibly tipping off Spartan and the others that she was alive and well and here looking for them. She was also somewhat anxious about the fact she was likely to end up having to fight four rogue superagents in order to secure the plutonium, one of whom had been able to suppress her powers. So, tonight she was dressed in a short, black, sleeveless cocktail dress with a largely open back. Of course, she was not wearing a headscarf with the outfit. Agent Salazar had offered to get her a black wig to wear, but since that would have required dyeing her eyebrows to match, she had opted to stick with the brown one she wore in costume, as her eyebrows were dark enough to at least look natural with that one. Agent Salazar was wearing a pair of khaki slacks with a white polo shirt. His dark hair was slicked back, and he had added a fair amount of jewelry to complete the image of a rich forty-something man and his much younger companion. As the pair made their way to the entrance of Switch, the only second looks they received as they made their way into the club were those that an attractive young woman would typically receive.
  21. Despite the instance by Sergio, and many of the other East Coast members of the family, Gretchen still seemed extremely uncomfortable with the idea of being present for a seance. But she still reluctantly took her place where she was directed. Paul seemed annoyed by being required to take part in the ceremony, while Vince seemed to find the idea highly entertaining. A number of the others looked on curiously as Nick traced his diagram along the floor, but made not comments. When Nick spoke up about what he wanted from the group, Sergio spoke up. "I am the only one here that knew Dorothy, my aunt who died in the north tower, so it will be up to me to focus on her." The elder D'Asenczo maneuvered his wheelchair to the location indicated for him. Once everyone was settled in, a hush fell over the room as everyone began to try and follow Nick's instructions, a few of them closing their eyes as they did so. When Nick began channeling his power into his summoning circle, the light in the room seemed to dim somewhat and whispers seemed to come from the far corners of the room. Several of the family members glanced around, appearing slightly unnerved. Gretchen in particular shuddered, as she clutched her cross tightly and squeezed her eyes closed tighter. Then, after a few brief moments, eight shadowy figures began to form inside the circle, spaced out near several of the family members. Near Vince was a man in his early forties, dressed in clothes that looked about twenty years out of date. The resemblance between the two was quite apparent. A male figure had formed near Catherine as well, one who appeared to be in his early sixties. Near her daughter, Jessica, an elderly woman who appeared to be in her eighties had appeared. The young woman looked up at the figure with a slightly expression of shock. Midway between Frank and Mary, a woman in her early fifties appeared, both of the siblings looking up at her in amazement. From what Nick could see, both had apparently focused on the same relative. Three female figures also appeared near Stephan, Martin III and Leonard, ranging in age from around twenty eight to late seventies in age. The final figure formed near Sergio, a woman in her early thirties, dressed 30's era clothing. Off all the spirits that had been summoned forth, Nick could sense she was the strongest, filled with anguish and despair, and the mark of someone who had taken their own life. "Who summons us!" The woman of the earlier era asked in a cold voice. But for all the spirits that had been summoned forth, Nick also noted where the circle had failed to work. No spirit had been pulled forth based on the memories of Jonathan, Paul, Gretchen or Martin II.
  22. Giang looked over to the coordinator that came over to apologize about the behavior of the two young men that were currently cleaning up the mess that Vicky had directed them towards. "There is no need for you to apologize for their behavior." She replied simply, her demeanor still calm and detached. She glanced a moment back towards the two young men before focusing back on Burt. "As Eliza indicated, they appear at least somewhat willing to focus on the task at hand." The Asian teen certainly hoped that they would continue to remain focused, but then, she had little experience with young men like these.
  23. Okay, the driver of Manta 2 will fire a torpedo at Glamazon (Tsunami is too far away to catch both). Need a Reflex save DC 18; then a toughness save, either DC 19 (if you make the Reflex save) or DC 23 (if you miss the Reflex save)
  24. Velocity gets a 18 on her notice roll. (I will remind you her goggles give her extended sight).
  25. Later that afternoon… Velocity made her way through the narrow streets of Istanbul's Grand Bazaar. The speedster was wearing the dress, testture, headscarf and sunglasses that Agent Salazar had bought for her. Her costume was safely tucked away in the handbag she was carrying. So far, her 'disguise' seemed to be working reasonably well. While she attracted some attention as she made her way through the bazaar, it was not any more than she was normally accustomed to, and possibly even a bit less. The Spanish agent had also instructed her to act more formal when out in public, and to smile less, as both would help in avoiding any problems. While normally the young woman might have had a bit more trouble with not smiling as much, at the moment it was not proving too difficult, given her current mood. The pair had arrived in Istanbul several hours ago and then checked into a hotel room towards the outskirts of the city. They had then set out so Agent Salazar could meet with some of his contacts. The Spanish agent was currently in a nearby bar, meeting with one of his contacts. He had already had met with another earlier in the afternoon, but had not learned anything useful. So Velocity was left waiting outside, browsing the stalls and shops in the area around the bar and doing her best to look like just another shopper to avoid appearing out of place. That was not very difficult to accomplish, as she was rather fond of shopping, in this case the venue was just more exotic than her typical shopping trip. With all the time she had to wait on Agent Salazar, Velocity would have thought she could have come up with some sort of excuse to tell Robert when she got back to England. The young woman was starting to get concerned about what might be going through Robert’s head right now. He had likely tried to call her already this morning, and at some point during the day was going to wonder why she had not called back. But at the moment there was nothing Velocity could do about that, other than run back to England briefly. However, that was still out of the question, not only because it would probably be harder to leave again if she did, but also because Agent Salazar might need her help while she was away. So, the speedster was stuck waiting for something to happen while dwelling on Robert’s possible reactions when she finally got back to England. Trying to distract herself from those thoughts, Velocity instead tried focusing on the various shops around her. The Grand Bazaar, a massive covered shopping area, was quite impressive. There were literally hundreds of shops and stalls scattered about the dozens of covered streets, selling all manner of merchandise. While the clothing shops did not necessarily have all the high end designers that the young woman was used to purchasing, there were a number of very cute outfits. And there was quite an impressive selection of jewelry to be found as well. She was just beginning to look over a selection of bracelets when she spotted Agent Salazar emerge from the bar where he had been meeting with his contact. Turning away from the tempting bracelets on display, the young woman made her way over to meet the Spanish agent. His expression was rather neutral, though it was much of the time, so it was difficult to tell if he had learned anything useful. But, as she reached him, Velocity saw Agent Salazar give a small smile. "They plan to try to sell the plutonium off tomorrow night." He stated. "Tomorrow night?" Velocity replied with a slight hint of distress in her voice. That was a whole other day she would be inexplicably gone and unable to call Robert to try to make some excuse. Quickly pushing those thoughts from her head, she gave Agent Salazar a somewhat weak smile. "But that's great, we still have time to stop them. Are they going to sell it here in Istanbul?" "No, in another city to the South, Marmaris." Agent Salazar replied. "Maramis?" Velocity asked as they started to make their way to the nearest exit. "Where exactly is that?" "Along Turkey's western coast, an area sometimes called the 'Turkish Riviera." Stated Agent Salazar. "Marmaris is a particularly popular destinations, due to its very active nightlife." "Active nightlife?" The young speedster asked with a small grin. "Sounds like it is the Turkish version of Ibiza." Agent Salazar gave a small smile of his own. "That is probably a rather accurate comparison." "Hmm, why would they want to try go there to sell the plutonium?" Velocity asked. "Lots of tourists there this time of year, easy for potential buyers to be a little less obvious for one thing." Agent Salazar replied. "Well, sounds like it will be a fun place to search for some rogue superagents." Velocity replied. "So, what's the plan?" Agent Salazar was quiet for a few moments, apparently considering her question, as they exited the Grand Bazaar. "We should be able to get down there by this evening on a train. Tonight we will be able to stake out the nightclub where the auction will be taking place, as well as the area around it." "Okay, sounds great." Velocity replied, though without much enthusiasm. While normally she would jump at the chance to go clubbing, especially somewhere known for having an active nightlife, in this case, it was hard to feel excited given the fact it involved more time during which she would be missing, with Robert having no idea where she was. "So…do we still need to remain out of contact?" She then asked, thought she was rather certain what the answer would be. "I know this has not been easy for you." Agent Salazar replied, a sympathetic look on his face. "But we have a lead on them and a chance to secure the plutonium again. Our being 'dead,' or at least missing is the only thing providing this opportunity. I cannot do this on my own." Velocity reluctantly nodded her head. "Yeah, I know." She was quiet a moment, then looked back up with a small smile. "Well, let's get going then."
