Megan caught the thrown wallet easily out of the air, after all, it seemed to be moving in slow motion to her, as she regarded the rainbow clad woman’s strange behavior. Taking a quick moment to flip the wallet open and check its contents, the young woman then looked back at the pickpocket. "I would hardly say I am in anyone's pocket." She replied back, her tone now more neutral. "But I fully plan to dance the night away with my boyfriend and thoroughly enjoy myself." Megan then frowned slightly as the other woman mentioned more giving and taking for the night, but was not exactly in a position to try and do anything about it. Letting out a small sigh, she gave the other woman a small smile. "Well, sounds like you have a full night planned then. You'll understand if I don't want to see you again tonight."

Velocity once again hesitated ever so slightly as Grab threatened to take Omen overboard with her and drowned him. "You really want to add murder to your list of crimes Grab?" The speedster asked in a flat tone. "Why don't you just let him go and give yourself up. It will be a lot easier for you." With that the young woman seemed to vanish in a blur of yellow, appearing almost instantly behind Grab as her fist once more shot out with a loud *CRACK* WHAM Once again she landed a solid blow on Grab, but once again the supervillainess was able to take the hit. Gritting her teeth, Velocity stepped in to swing her left fist at Grab as well. *CRACK* But as blindingly fast as the second attack was, the villainess was able to avoid it. With another blur of movement, Velocity retreated somewhat, but kept her position between Grab and the nearest edge of the boat.

Hector shrugged slightly as Harry asked about the bust. "We did our best to keep things low key, but with all the people coming to observe the fights, word is bound to get out." When Harry mentioned Freddy, and wanting a second round, Hector gave him a smile. "Well, we will get things up and running again, might take a little time though." He then paused a moment, and then took a piece of paper out of his pocket along with a pen and began to write on it. "But I tell you what, if your fighter managed to get himself out of there, go to this address and speak with Carl. He can get your boy up to the next level. Where you have a shot at earning some real money."

Velocity will make a normal attack (no shifting), getting a 21. That is a DC 28 toughness save. If the first punch does not take Grab out or at least daze her, Velocity will surge and attack again. But she will miss with a 16

Megan smirked slightly at Robert's reply after the lady in the rainbow robe and goat mask had left. "You know, I have half a suitcase full of bikinis back at the hotel. Maybe we should go back and I could change…" The blonde young woman then focused back on dancing, smiling at Robert, more than happy with his willingness to do his best to keep up with her. But when he mentioned getting a drink and then could not locate his wallet, a frown came to her face as she glanced back in the direction the rainbow clad woman had gone. "No, you had it on you." She stated. "Wait here, I will be right back." With that, Megan seemed to effectively vanish, as she began moving at hypersonic speed, vibrating her body's molecules to allow her to pass through the crowd and surrounding buildings, as if they were nothing more than smoke. Moving at thousands of miles per hour, Megan was able to search a large area of the crowd and buildings nearby for a sign of the woman. As she went the young blonde saw thousands of people dancing in the streets, something she would much rather be doing right now. While passing through a rather seedy looking bar, she spotted a familiar face, Erick Sloane, though why he was in a place like that was something of a mystery to her. While she might normally try to head that way to say hello later, she rather doubted that bar was anywhere she wanted to go with Robert. Then, she spotted the rainbow clad pickpocket. Coming to a halt in front of the woman, and thus seeming to appear out of thin air, the blonde fixed a stern gaze on the other woman. "So, are you going to return my boyfriend's wallet? Or shall I send you to the hospital and get it back anyway?"

Detective Stine took Lucy's offered hand, before shaking hands with Crimson Tiger as well. "A pleasure to meet both of you." She stated before focusing back on the issues at hand, listening to Revenant's explanation as to their presence. "I am afraid we do not have much more information than that thus far." The detective replied. "We know that there are a number of small operations like this one active in a few parts of the city. And we are certain that they are acting as feeders to another operation. But at this point, we do not have any good leads on where that other operation might operate from." Down in the sewers, Freddy's bloody homunculus continued crawling along the ceiling as it trailed after Harry, Hector and Hectors' bodyguards. After a short while, the group had turned down a side tunnel, and came to dead end that had a ladder leading up to a manhole cover. One of the bodyguards climbed up the ladder first, pushing the cover aside and crawling back up into the cool night air. A few moments later he reappeared at the top of the latter, calling down in a low voice, "We're clear," and then vanished from view once more. Hector started up the later next, followed by his other bodyguard. When Harry came up the latter, Hector helped the rumpled private investigator out of the manhole. "Well, here is where we go our separate ways." Hector stated.

Vince Regarded Carmen with a slightly puzzled look at her strange, random comment, but had little chance to say anything before she began with the questions. He chuckled slightly as he took a seat on one of the old leather chairs. "Yeah, it is something of a family reunion. Though, in my opinion is a complete waste of time." "But as for whether my family is proud of me and has supported me, well, the answer depends greatly on which part of the family you are talking about." He smiled and then continued in explanation. "See, there are two quite distinct branches, the West Coast branch, which I am from, and the East Coast." "Generally, my family members on the West Coast are more supportive, though my uncle, my actual uncle, would prefer that I focused on preparing myself to someday take over running our family's movie studio. My aunt, a fashion designer, and her daughter, my cousin, a model and aspiring actress, have a positive view my choice of pursuing a musical career, though, they are both rather disapproving of some of my other habits." He gave Carmen a small wink, before continuing on. "But in the eyes of the East Coast branch, I am certainly something of the black sheep. Of course, that part of the family is made of business men, bank executives, lawyers and hedge fund managers." Vince gave a dismissive shrug, not appearing overly concerned with how he was perceived by his more distant relatives.

Megan is going to find that pickpocket, using her Insubstantial to pass through the crowd at high speed. Per the example on page 54 of the book, she will search a 1 mile diameter area, Taking 20 (for a Search result of 23). Searching the entire area, if she needs to, will take 30 seconds thanks to her Quickness 10.

Velocity was a bit concerned when Omen was unable to free himself from Grab's grasp, but at least the villainess was unable to inflict any harm on the hero. As Grab began reorienting herself, the speedster rushed back to her, a fist darting out again at supersonic speed with another loud *CRACK* WHAM Once again Velocity landed a solid blow. And while it clearly hurt Grab, this time the supervillainess remained her bearings, ready to continue the fight. Velocity continued on past, looping back around as she hoped that Omen would be able to work himself free this time.

Velocity will continue with the power attack (-2 atk/+2 dam), she gets a 18. I will spend a hero point for a reroll, getting a 25. So another DC 30 toughness save for Grab.

For a moment, a VERY brief moment to anyone else, Velocity hesitated as Grab managed to...well, grab Omen in her seemingly endlessly long arms, and threatened the possibility of harming him if the speedster attacked her again. But the superheroine quickly shook off the feeling. While Grab might be rather adapt at snaring people with those limbs, Velocity was not sure she was the elastic villainess was particularly strong, and thus able to apply any considerable pressure to Omen. Of course, there was also the distinct possibility that the speedster would be able to knock out or stun Grab, allowing Omen to escape. "Well, you will have to see me coming." Velocity shot back, and, proving the point, appeared next to the villainess just as the sound of her voice arrived. Putting a bit more of her speed behind the force of her attack, the speedster's left hand shot out as blinding speed. *CRACK* This time, Grab's makeshift cover proved insufficient, and the first connected solidly. WHAM The force of the blow knocked Grab out from under the table, sending her skidding across the room a short distance before coming to a stop. The villainess certainly looked dazed, hopefully that would be enough to loosen her grip on Omen and allow the hero to escape.

Megan will make a few quickness assisted take 20 Notice checks to spot the woman who just bumped into Robert.

Well, having a particularly bad streak of slightly low rolls for Velocity on IC. She got a 16 on her Notice check.

The infravision in Velocity's goggles easily allowed her to spot the last member of Larceny, Inc., who had taken a position underneath a table. The speedster agilely dodged the supervillainess' attack, leaping over the elongated arm and zipping around the room and doubling back towards Grab's location. "Well, you know, always one to crash a party. Especially ones thrown by supercriminals." Velocity quipped as she closed with Grab. *CRACK* The speedster's hand shot out, breaking the sound barrier. But between Grab's agility, and the difficulty of attack her underneath the table, the villainess was able to avoid the attack. Velocity continued on past, looping around the room once more before coming to a halt back on the opposite side of the room from where Omen was located, in the hope of making it more difficult for Grab to attack both of them at the same time once more.

Well, Velocity's goggles have both Infravision and Ultravision, so the darkness should not be a problem. She will go over to try to hit Grab. She gets an 18, which seems a bit low to hit.

Umm, nope, Velocity only gets a 14 on her Gather Info roll. And same for a Current Events check. She must have been relaxing TOO much during the week in the Greek Islands.

"Isn't Rio awesome?" Megan Howell called out loudly over the music and other noise on the crowded street to her companion, Lord Robert Harrow, as she pulled him out with her into the crowd that was dancing. The stunning young blonde was wearing a short black dress that fit her curves snugly. Her skin was considerably more tan than normal, but that was not particularly surprising given how she had spent much of the month thus far. First Megan had spent a couple of weeks traveling through Spain and the South of France with two of her old high school friends. Then, until just yesterday, she had spent a week with Robert on a yacht in the Greek Islands. For the most part, that week had been a slow and relaxing, allowing her to just enjoy the time with Robert, and for both of them to unwind a bit from the events earlier in the month. Though they had made a few trips ashore during the trip to take in some nightlife, including a stop at Marmaris, Turkey, part of what was dubbed the "Turkish Rivera," and well known for its nightlife. But as much as she had enjoyed the generally low key and relaxing time in the Aegean, Megan was now looking forward to a much more lively time at the Carnival. This was actually the young woman's second visit to Rio, having stopped in the city during her around the world trip for New Year's Eve in her superhero identity as Velocity. After the wild, festive atmosphere at Copacabana Beach, Megan had decided it would be good to visit again during Carnival. She had little reason to suspect then that when she did return it would be with Robert, as the two had ended their relationship seven months earlier, and had not reconciled until a few months later. Of course, Megan could not be happier than to be here with Robert.

Well, I would say I would be interested with Velocity, I mean, Marathon, Speedster...but, she would likely skew things too high. Maybe Tsunami?

Just to be clear, her actions are 1) get up (move), 2) talk (free) and 3) swim (another move action) Her speed is 100mph, or 1000 feet as a move action. But as she is also diving back into the water, if you want to cut that back some SC, that is fine.

Tsunami flew through the air briefly before coming crashing down into a stack of empty shipping crates back along the docks near the city. Thankfully, the swirling shield of water surrounding the Asian teen took the brunt of the impact, but she did feel a bit sore a she climbed to her feet and freed herself of the debris. Looking back out toward the dark waters, she keyed her communicator. "Blode, Crimson, be ready, Devil Ray tossed me back to shore and is on his way back to the ship. I am fine, and should be able to catch back up quickly. However, he also reveled that the ship is loaded with explosives, and that he has been hired by the terrorist group OVERTHROW." "If we are unable to find a way to stop the ship, I may have to sink it." With that, the teenager dove back into the dark bay, cutting through the water with relative ease.

The elderly butler appeared to have given up on trying to protest Carmen's presence, following the pair as they made their way into the mansion. Inside, Carmen found herself in a large hallway that went back about midway into the house. The ceiling rose up high above them, with balconies along the second and third floors overlooking the lower level. Elaborate molding and other detail work covered the ceiling and walls, and Carmen almost felt as if she had stepped back into a different time. There were a number of pieces of antique furniture and classical paintings spaced along the hallway. A number of doorways stood on either side of the hallway, leading to various rooms on the main floor. At the opposite end of the hallway was a grand staircase which lead up to a landing from which slightly shorter staircases split off to the left and right to continue to the second floor. A large, antique grandfather clock sat on the landing, just beneath a group of large windows which looked down on a courtyard between the two wings of the mansion. The ticking of the mechanism in the clock faintly echoed down the hallway. "Oh, this place belongs to my Uncle Sergio." Vince replied with a smile. "Though, he is actually my great-grandfather's cousin, which makes him my fourth cousin, or is it first cousin three times removed?" The young man shrugged. "Whatever the case, just easier to call him uncle. But yeah, the place has like been in the family for over a hundred years or so." Through one of the open doorways a short way down on the right hand side, Carmen could hear the sounds of a number of voices carry out into the hallway. But Vince steered her off towards another doorway on the left hand side of the hallway, and into a sitting room adorned with lots of dark woods, worn leather furniture and an ornate fireplace.

Velocity will move down to the room housing the objects and look around there, fanning out if necessary, take several free, Take 20 Notice checks. Her standard action will be total defense, boosting her defense by 4.

That is what I did with the Midnight Society Holiday Party thread, and there have been a number of threads that were a result of the interactions that took place there.
