  1. Well, I have two ideas for something Tsunami might try. 1) Use her water control power to pull up a bunch of water to wrap around her and Devil Ray and try to use that to help her escape from the grapple. Or 2) Stunt an alt power that is just an area attack (again pulling up a bunch of water but this time just as an attack) in the hopes she might stun Devil Ray and he will let her go (of course, she might take damage as well). Wanted to see which you thought was more workable.
  2. Tsunami only gets a 13 on her survival roll, though, that is probably an 11 after the -2 (not sure if her water supersense would help any). So, if she and DR are only 100 feet up, is she able to look down at the water? (you said he was holding her by her wrists).
  3. The officers that moved towards the group of spectators near Revenant and Crimson Tiger had their firearms out, but pointed downward instead of at anyone. As the majority of the officers moved to start securing the spectators who had chosen to surrender, one of them made his way over to the pair of superheroines. "I'm Sergeant Fullerton, thanks for the assistance." The man replied. "I am afraid I don't know many specifics of the investigation of this operation. We're mainly here to help net as many of those involved in this little underground ring as possible and secure the area so the team actually involved in the investigation can sort through everything." "If you like, I can get you in touch with one of them." With a series of powerful leaps, Freddy had managed to leap over to the door he had seen Harry go through, and then down the stairs just beyond, passing in front of a couple of the fighters that had chosen to try to make their run for it in this direction. As Freddy reached the bottom of the stairs, he found himself in the nearly pitch dark basement of the old building. Stopping for a moment as he was unsure where to go next, Freddy heard the faint sound of voices somewhere ahead of him off to the left. Meanwhile, Hector and his bodyguards had led Harry into the sewer tunnel. Thankfully it was large enough that there was a dry area they could walk along. The smell was overpowering to Harry’s sensitive nose, but he had to try to keep close to Hector and his men, as they had the flashlights, which were absolutely necessary in the pitch black tunnel.
  4. "I can understand your reluctance." Velocity replied as Steed indicated she had no intention of going to the States to try to find the piece of the device that the she believed was there. The young speedster gave a small sigh. "But yes, the Stopwatch, and everything connected to it, certainly is my problem." "But I have an idea on how I might be able to locate the other fragments." She then added. Though Velocity was somewhat reluctant to have Robert potentially come into contact with a device like the Stopwatch again, he might have some connection to the device that could assist in locating the parts of this similar one. Otherwise, it was going to be difficult scouring Freedom City looking for hints of where the fragment might be.
  5. Giang thought a moment as Kazra responded to Cerys' question about the location of the scepter. "From what the spy said, it did not sound as if the Incan lands were already conquered, but it did sound as if the Serpent People were currently infiltrating there and ready to strike. I do not think we should wait for that to happen, particularly if we can get to the staff there. Waiting for the Serpent People to unfold their plan will not benefit us. The Serpent People's plan has taken into consideration the Romans, Incans and your father's people. However, we are not something they anticipated or planned on, thus we can potentially do more to disrupt their plans than anyone else. But if we simply sit back and wait for their plan to unfold, our ability to disrupt it becomes more difficult." Knowing any attempt to try to locate the staff mentioned by the spy would likely have to wait until Subito returned, the Asian teen turned to the task at hand of going to the Temple of Saturn. "According to the directions provided by our hosts, it is in this direction." She stated, before starting off though the ancient city towards the Temple.
  6. Giang had just been about to start towards the parking lot where John's motorcycle was waiting when the clone hero spoke up about not letting this incident and the fact her father was still actively looking for her not dictate her life. The Asian teen was quite for a brief moment before she replied, "In large part, my not letting my father compromise who I am is why I am here and he is sending hirelings after me." "But you are right, it was only a matter of time before my father's agents located me once again. I shall have to think on how to prepare for and counter any such future attempts such as this." With that, Giang started off across the rooftop to a fire escape to climb back down to the street and make her way to the parking log.

Okay, I have worked on an Below is some descriptions for the various number coded lines connecting the various people/entities. Clearly, there likely need to be some edits to the map and certainly to the descriptions of the various connections. I tried two different means of numbering the connections, and sort of like the numbers in boxes that are intersected by the lines the best (ex: 9-23). What about everyone else? As I worked on it, one thing I thought was somewhat absent were some old foes of the old team that might turn up to plague the new team.
  9. Velocity listened as Steed explained her plan for trying to find the other parts of the device. "Really, dinosaurs and Conquestidors? You must not read a lot about Freedom City if you think that particularly stands out." The speedster replied with a slightly bored tone and a half grin. "But still, it is a lead that should probably be checked out." As Steed mentioned her legal problems in the United States, Velocity smirked slightly. "You seem surprised. I believe quite a few countries have similar views on archeological expeditions within their borders these days." "In any event, I suppose you have an idea on how to get around your little problem?"
  10. Velocity was a bit relieved that Steed appeared to accept her point about not wanting publicity about this device, though she was not entirely sure how much she could actually trust Steed. What the other woman had to say about the shard she had found in Egypt was rather troubling though. No small part of that was due to the fact that whatever this new device was, it appeared to not be keyed to Robert as the Stopwatch was. "Okay, fair enough, these things do appear to be a problem that won't just keep. So what is the next step in finding the other parts? How did you find this first one?"
  11. Velocity listened as Steed explained her intentions, frowning slightly. While the speedster certainly did not think the other woman was lying about not having some grand designs for this device, what she did want was still somewhat troublesome. When Steed finished, Velocity crossed her arms as she replied. "Well, you don't seem to have been paying close attention when you observed the encounter over the Stopwatch back in Switzerland. That device, and likely this one you have found a part of as well, are indeed very dangerous. So much so, it is probably best if the other parts to this one just remained undiscovered." "But even if it might be better to find the other parts to ensure it is better secured, there is another problem with your desire to want to sell the story. For one thing, the fewer people now that know about this device, the better. But perhaps even more importantly, there are people in the future that were looking for the Stopwatch, and could very well come after this device as well. So any story you write about it will bring them after you. In fact, there could be some of them already in place in this hotel, waiting to make a move to acquire this part."
  12. Revenant and Crimson Tiger's statements, combined with the easy at which they had dealt with the thugs and bookies, was enough to get many of the nearby men to just drop down on their knees and put their hands on their heads as Revenant had suggested. Several others just continued standing fixed in place, still uncertain what they should do. A small few, mainly at the far edges of the crowd, turned to try and make a break for it in some other direction away from the two heroines. At that moment, a large group of police officers appeared through the entrance that Revenant, Harry and Freddy had taken to enter the old factory. They had their weapons ready, shinning flashlights into the faces of the spectators that had been foolishly heading for that exit. There were a number of cries of "Freeze, Police!" that echoed through the old building. Down below, Freddy stood for a few moments, unsure which direction he should go as the other fighters began scattering. A number of spectators from upstairs were even making their way down, looking desperately for some path that would take them away from the police. Harry continued to follow after Hector and his bodyguards as they reached the basement of the building. The men broke out flashlights as they made their way through the dark basement. The dark, moist air generally smelled of grease and mildew to Harry's sensitive nose. But as the group progressed further, a smell of sewage began to get stronger and stronger. Reaching a back corner of the basement, the group came to a section of wall that had been damaged, creating an opening into a sewer tunnel beyond. "It may not smell nice, but it is a nice little escape route." Hector commented to Harry.
  13. Tsunami was slightly surprised when she came across Crimson Tiger fighting a man dressed as a pirate. That surprise was increased when it was reveled that he was actually a robot, though given her experiences during the Day of Wrath, she likely should not have been so surprised. However, her attention was quickly diverted away as Devil Ray returned to continue their fight. As Devil Ray's electrical bolt arched towards here, Tsunami dodged to one side, rolling across the water covered deck of the ship and coming back up in a low back stance. Focusing her attention fully on the flying armored villain, the Asian teen stepped forward, sweeping both hand back together in front of her as she sent another blast of water towards the villain. Once again she hit Devil Ray squarely with the attack, but while he clearly appeared to feel it, he otherwise was able to take the hit and remain in the fight.

  15. Another Defensive Attack, -2 atk/+2 def, making things +7 atk/+11 def. Tsunami tries to blast Devil Ray once more, getting a 19. Probably a miss, but if it hits, DC 25 toughness save.
  16. Velocity listened as Steed explained herself and how she knew about the Stopwatch and the speedster. When Steed explained her ability and how she had used it in the room to watch Velocity's interaction with Robert from a few months ago, the speedster could not help but tense slightly, wondering just how far back Steed had looked, given her and Robert’s stay at the same room more than a year before the incident Steed was talking about. But whatever the case, Steed stayed focused on watch and then reveled what she had meant in the regarding a second device when she tossed the glowing crystal onto the bed. Velocity turned slightly to regard it, not taking a step closer, but instead using her goggles to zoom in on the device. It did indeed appear to be part of something in the shape of the Stopwatch, though the speedster could not imagine why it would have been sent back so far in time. "There was nothing beloved about the Stopwatch, at least not on my part." She stated after studying the object. Turning to focus back on Steed (an actually unnecessary movement given her goggles three hundred and sixty degree vision, but still important as far as non-verbal communication that is expected with others), the speedster continued. "But it does appear similar in shape. So, what are your intentions regarding this?"
  17. Velocity made her way into the room at the sound of the voice from inside, closing the door behind her. The speedster regarded Heather Steed a moment (a considerable amount of time for her), noting the taller woman's looks, but not being particularly impressed. After all, the young heroine was very attractive herself. "You'll understand if I decline." Velocity replied coldly as the other woman indicated she should take off her goggles and that she had no reason to be concerned about her identity. "Well, it certainly got me attention." She added, as Steed brought up the telegram. "So…what is it you know about the Stopwatch? And how do you know about me?"
  18. "Wow, I thought having one older brother was a pain. I couldn't imagine having three of them." Megan replied with a grin as Stesha mentioned how many siblings she had. The speedster then nodded as the other woman mentioned the difficulty of feeling you were living up to older siblings. "Yeah, following after them in school was not easy, especially as I was not very far behind. For a while I was thinking I would be regulated to being the 'pretty one,' but, then this happened"†she indicated her costume, "and keeping up with school work while still having time for fun became a whole lot easier." Megan then chuckled slightly as Stesha mentioned the fact that she had not only focused on school but also been a superhero. "Well, with my luck, both my older siblings are also superheroes and I just don't know it." "Well, being a good mom, or parent in general, is not always easy. I grew up with a number of people that were basically raised by their nannies, not because their moms were working or anything, but more because they just did not want to deal with raising kids. My parents used nannies, but always as a means of helping my mom out, not completely taking things over."
  19. Velocity gave the man a small smile, purposely not looking over at the game on his computer screen, though she could actually see it perfectly well thanks to the technology in her goggles. "No, I do not think I need a room right now, likely will not be staying terribly long." The speedster replied to his initial question. "And yes, Ms. Steed is expecting me. No need to ring her, I don't want to keep her waiting unnecessarily." She then added. "Thank you for your assistance." Then, she was gone in a blur of yellow, making her way up to Room 44.
  20. "Yes, it certainly is." Megan nodded in agreement as Stesha mentioned having choices. "My mother is pretty heavily involved in philanthropy work in Freedom City, so I might think about helping her with that some." As Stesha mentioned how her own career and life had turned out far different than she could have envisioned, the speedster grinned. "You forgot to mention mother. And I have to say, from what I have seen and heard, you handle all of it very well." She then nodded as the Stesha asked about being the youngest in her family. "Yeah, my sister is four years older, and is currently in a residency in Seattle. My brother is two years older, and currently halfway through getting his law degree at Stanford. How about you? Any siblings?"
  21. As Velocity spent a bit of time studying the area around the Hotel Castrello, she had to give credit to Steed, or whomever had actually arranged all this, for picking a rather nice location. The hotel was not quite up to the standards of what she usually went for herself, but to each their own. The speedster was certainly one to do her fair share of partying as Megan Howell, though she tended to be more circumspect about it than Steed did. And of course, she had been known from time to time to been seen as at some party or nightclub as Velocity, probably the most recent example of which was her twenty-four hour, around the world New Year’s celebration. Not seeing anything that particularly screamed out "TRAP," though if any time agents were involved, it could be much more difficult to tell, the speedster decided the direct approach was probably called for. A split second later she has "appeared" in front of the receptionist. "Hi there, I'm Velocity. I'm looking for a Heather Steed."

Sadly I have not had much inspiration as yet for any personal nemesis for Synapse. But…I had generally been thinking that her committed older sister could both serve as a point of angst for Dawn, and, occasionally, as a nemesis, should she get loose and able to use her powers.
  23. So, when Velocity gets to the island, her plan is to stop a short ways from the hotel and observe (ie Take 20 notice checks) with her enhanced vision for a bit to see what is going on.
  24. Megan Howell was still feeling the emotional high that had accompanied her graduation from Yale University (with distinction) two weeks ago. The young woman's internship with Summit Transnational had ended just before the finish of her last term at Yale, and now she had her days wide open, which had led to a bit of an increase in activity around Freedom City as Velocity. Today, Megan had spent most of the morning at a spa. In a week, she and her two best friends from high school, Lisa and Janet, were planning a trip to Spain and the south of France to celebrate their graduating college. The blonde young woman had been a little surprised when the doorman for her apartment building the Wading Way had a telegram for her. I did not even know people still used telegrams. Megan thought as she looked at the sealed message with curiosity as she rode the elevator up to her thirty seventh floor apartment. Once inside, Megan made her way into the spacious living room that had widows looking out at the Wading Way skyline as she tore open the telegram. The young woman was able to quickly scan the message, but what she read caused her to stop suddenly in her tracks, a cold feeling gripping her as she quickly reread the message to be sure she had not misread. Another Stopwatch? She thought as she reread the sent line. In a blur of movement, she was over at the small "office" area set up at one end of the living room, flipping open her laptop. A quick search found out a good bit of information about Heather Steed, none of which made her feel any better about how this woman knew she was Velocity. But right now, that mattered little to the young woman. If there was another Stopwatch out there, she could not ignore that, given the problems the last one had caused, and the danger it posed. In another blur of speed, the young blonde was gone from the room, reappearing a split second later in her Velocity costume. She sent a quick message to Daedalus to let him know where she was off to and then, checking the location of Gran Canaria, she was gone from the apartment. Moments later she was clearing the Centary Narrows and leaving Freedom City behind as she accelerated to hypersonic speeds. At top speed, she estimate she would be able to cross the Atlantic to Gran Canaria in only a couple of minutes.
