As Velocity sidestepped the large chunk of pavement thrown by the muscle bound mercenary, she watched as Silver Spider and the other mercenary traded attacks. Silver Spider had taken a couple of hits, but had seemed unhurt by them. Unfortunately, she was having less luck in dealing with her opponent. Need to put this guy down so I can help out Jen. The speedster thought as she focused back on Coppertop. "Okay, enough tearing up the street." Velocity called out as she closed the distance with the mercenary in the blink of an eye, her hand shooting out supersonic speed with another loud *CRACK*. *WHAM* Once again she landed a solid hit on Coppertop, this time with an uppercut aimed right under his chin. The larger mercenary was lifted up off his feet and sent flying backward to land on his back about a few feet away. This time he not only looked dazed, but as if he just hanging onto consciousness. "You ready to surrender now?"
-
Velocity will go with Defensive Attack this time, -2 atk/+2 defense (making it +17). She gets a 26 on her attack roll for another hit on Coppertop, DC 28 toughness save this time.

The man with the gun had had his gaze fixed on the costumed heroine that had just taken down two of his companions, and thus hardly registered Lucy's approach. When she spoke up, he glanced at her with surprise, just in time to catch her punch under the chin. Even holding back some, Lucy's superhuman strength lifted the man up off his feet and sent him flying a good fifteen or more feet to slam back down on the ground. It was rather evident that he was out cold. The punch seemed to have attracted the attention of a few people that were in the crowd of spectators on one of the other balconies, as they had stopped watching the fight below and were looking in that direction. The two men that had been with the thug froze, both apparently unsure what to do. Lucy could see they were carrying what looked like cash boxes, making her assume they were likely bookies. Near the doorway out of the main factory floor, Crimson Tiger could faintly hear voices shouting from the area beyond. During her prior observation in the rafters, she had seen other guards around the perimeter of the crowd of spectators, but it was hard to tell where any of them were at the moment.

He got a...14, not even remotely close enough. He is out cold. Crimson Tiger is up.
-
Okay, then Lucy is able to act first.
-
OOC: 15 Crimson Tiger (Unharmed, 3 HP) 3 Thug 1 (Unharmed) 3 Bookies Need an initiative roll from Lucy at this point.

As Harry, Freddy and Lucy conferred briefly about what course of action they should take, Hector wasted little time, starting off through the area under the viewing balconies with two bodyguards, being joined by another thug as they went. The word of the police arriving did not seem to have been passed on to the other fighters, who were either watching the fight currently in progress or busy warming up for their own fights. Some of the people accompanying the other fighters (trainers, managers or the like) seemed to not Hector's passage, but did not seem to grasp the significance of it, as they continued on with their tasks. Quickly making her way upstairs to the upper level, Lucy found that the general crowd of spectators were similarly unaware that the police had arrived, as they were still focused on the fight taking place in the ring below, the sounds of cheering making it hard to hear much else. Just as she reached the top of the stairs, Lucy spotted a young woman in a red body suit and mask, with small black markings similar to those of a tiger, knock out two of the toughs who had been guarding the entrance through which Lucy had arrived with Freddy and Harry. She also spotted another tough who was leading two other men around the edge of the crowd, as he spotted the woman in red. The tough had a pistol in hand.

Velocity gave a small nod as Warp mentioned things being fine at school. Smiling a little more broadly, the speedster replied, "that's good to hear. Saves me from having to try to come up with some kind of advice to offer on how to balance homework and heroing. Generally, when it comes to questions about time management, I probably have very little to offer that would be useful for most people." "So, with no looming prom drama or complaints about teachers that fail to understand that you do have other things going on in your life, I guess it's time to go find some bad guys." She then stated. "I was thinking may tonight we might start going through parts of midtown. And if it seems quite, then maybe moving back towards the Fens or Southside?"

Burning the Midnight Financial Reports from the the SEHK
Thevshi replied to TheAbsurdist's topic in Wading Way
Megan gave a little smile as Amir asked a bit about her dating (though she figured he was likely not really expecting an answer to those questions). "Well, actually, I do know Duncan Maguire, the NASCAR driver. Met him at the Millennium my Senior year at North Bay." The blonde young woman replied. "But yes I have generally dated men around my own age bracket, though starting that Senior year in high school, I started focusing on the older end of that bracket by dating college guys. And beyond dating foolish, young, rich guys with fancy cars," she gave Amir a teasing smile, "I have also dated plenty of very smart young men, some of whom were lucky when they could borrow their mom's car." She then paused a moment, becoming a bit more serious. "But I appreciate the advice about studying people. I am sure you will not find it too surprising to hear that my mom tried to impart that idea to me when I was young. But I am sure I still have more to learn on that subject." -
Okay, first guy missed his, second one missed as well. Go ahead with the IC post and take them down. Might as well get an initiative roll as well now.
-
Okay, you have surprise, so go ahead and make the attack. (though, as they are minions, you can easily take 10 to hit one, and then likely get to hit the other with a takedown attack)
-
Some very unlady like words were going through Velcoity's head after she had missed her attempt to attack one of the time agents. Then Fenris was out the window with a loud crashing of glass, only to be pursued by the three time agents, given their footprints in the deep snow. The speedster almost laughed at the idea, and then was gone from the room she and Robert had once shared during a vacation here in a blur of movement. A moment later, she was standing midway between Fenris and his three pursuers, or at least where their tail of footprints ended. "Really, you were trying to just run away from me?" She called. "I don't think we're done yet."
-
As mentioned in chat, Velocity is switching her array to the alt power that gives her Sure Footed 2 (as well as making her faster as well), to eliminate the penalties for running across the slippery, deep snow. She will move to midway between Fenris and the time agents (or where the foot prints end) and take a total defense action (Def 28).
-
Velocity had spotted the indentions in the carpet outside the door of the room, reveling the general presence of at least two more of these "agents." The young woman scowled slightly as the apparent leader of these agents continued to talk, little more than a disembodied voice. She had no idea how he though his group might possibly use the watch against Collapse, and certainly did not like the suggestion that they were trying to control this timeline. But when he made his comments about how it was inevitable that he and whoever he worked for would win, the speedster let out a little laugh, even as she dodged the beam of energy fired at her. Two of them struck Fenris, but he seemed unaffected by them both. "Really? If you are truly so 'all knowing,' why in the world did you not secure the watch earlier? No, I think you're doing the best you can to just try to keep up. And guess what? Who says we want your interfering help anyway?" With that, she zipped over to where she had seen one of the beams originate. *CRACK*, her fist shot out at supersonic speeds, aimed in the general area she would expect a person to have been standing to shot the beam. But, she failed to connect with anyone, either miss judging their position, or they had moved after firing the beam.
-
Velocity will try to go punch where the nearest energy beam originated (still using the Stunning Attack version of her Strike power she stunted). Wow, only a 13, no need to even check a miss from concealment for that one.

Hector's face showed as much surprise and worry as Harry's did, the Latino man glancing around a brief moment before focusing back on his bodyguard. "Have the word sent out to the others to make themselves scarce." Looking over at Harry and the others, he gave a small shrug. "Sounds like a raid, not sure what tipped them off, but was bound to happen at some point. Sorry it is spoiling your boy's chance to fight again tonight. This place has a lot of exits, so unless the police are here with a lot of guys, there is no way they should be able to have them all covered right away. If you hurry before the spectators upstairs hear what’s going on, you might be able to make it." With that he turned away and started towards where his other bodyguard was waiting. Up above, the crowd was still focused on the fight taking place in the ring. But from where she was, Crimson Tiger saw signs that something was going on. One of the guards she had spotted while up in the rafters came running over to the two bookies she had moved near, a pistol in his hand. She was just barely able to hear what the man said to the two over the noise of the crowd. "The police are here." The two men froze for a brief moment, then started gathering up the money boxes that were set up near them while the guard waited for them to be ready to leave. Glancing to one side, Crimson Tiger could see two other guards, also with guns drawn, standing at a doorway, apparently watching for any sign of the police.

Friday, May 4, 2012 Kiyikoy, Turkey 11:20 AM (EEST); (9:20 AM BST) Velocity sped across the surface of the Black Sea a few miles out from Kiyikoy, reveling in the full return of her powers. The young woman was still in the olive shorts and white short sleeved shirt Agent Salazar had provided the night before, as well as the yellow boots she wore as Velocity. She was also wearing her high-tech goggles, now that she was able to once again easily process the constant stream of information from the device’s three hundred and sixty degree vision. The rest of her costume was back at the safe house, hanging up to dry in the small bathroom after being hand washed. When she had woken up this morning, Velocity had instantly realized her powers were back. After more than five years of living with them, the young woman had found that she had not liked being without them one bit. She had felt vulnerable and weak, something she was not at all used to feeling. But they were back, and as best as she could tell, there were no lingering effects from what Powerplay had done. Now she was feeling considerably better about facing Spartan and the others, just as long as she made sure not to let Powerplay lay a hand on her again. Though, given he had done so under the guise of an alley last time, the chances were much better now that he would not get another chance. Velocity had briefly considered running back to England, now that her powers were restored, in order to talk to Robert. The only problem was she still had no idea would she would say to him to explain why she would need to leave again. There was also a slight uncertainty about whether she could trust herself to want to leave again if she was back with the handsome young aristocrat. Agent Salazar was relying on her, and the speedster did not want to do anything that might jeopardize his plan of playing dead to surprise the rogue superagents, even if she was not entirely convinced about the likelihood of success for the plan. The risk of losing the chance to get a hold of the plutonium was just too great, regardless of what it might ultimately cost her personally. So, she had remained in Kiyuikoy, settling for a brief pass through the southern half of the Black Sea to help her pass the time and try to take her mind off what might happen when she got back to England. As she was closing back towards the safe house, Velocity's goggles spotted Agent Salazar at the door, having returned from his trip to a nearby larger town to buy some clothes for both of them. Accelerating slightly, the speedster crossed the remaining distance in a fraction of a second, zipping through the door just as the UNISON agent opened it and skidding to a halt in the small room beyond. "Thank you sir." She said with a small smile as she looked over to the door and Salazar made his way inside. The Spanish agent gave the young woman a slightly disapproving look as he closed the door behind him. "While I am pleased that your powers have returned, that is hardly what I would call ‘keeping a low profile." The speedster gave Salazar a small shrug and an unabashed smile. "I just had to get out and make sure they were completely back. Besides, I stayed out in the empty parts of the sea, keeping well clear of any ships. I doubt anyone saw me." She then regarded the various bags that the Spanish agent was carrying. "So…what did you get me?" She asked with a playful grin. Agent Salazar smiled slightly. "Ah, right onto the subject of clothes." He commented as he sat down most of the bags on the table in the middle of the room and help up one that he opened up, showing a long dark blue dress. "This should suffice for you until we get to Istanbul and can pick up a few more things, as needed." Velocity stepped over to the Spanish agent, taking the dress and holding it out to study for a moment. "Hmm, very stylish, if a bit conservative." She stated. "Conservative is what we want here." Salazar replied. "It should allow you to draw a bit less attention to yourself. Well…as much as you can anyway." Velocity lowered the dress to look over at the Spanish Agent. "Why thank you Agent Salazar." She stated with a smile. "I rather doubt that you need me to tell you that your attractive." He replied dismissively as he handed over another bag. "This is a tesettur." He stated, indicating the bag. "A light, topcoat that a fair number of Turkish women wear out in public. Along with the headscarf that is in another bag, this will provide you a modest appearance which should further help with blending in." Velocity took the offered bag. "So, when are we going to Istanbul?" She asked. "I'd like to leave within the hour." Agent Salazar replied. "The sooner we get to the city, the sooner I can start trying to see what I can learn about any plans Spartan and the others have for selling plutonium." "And what if they already had a buyer lined up?" Velocity asked, having thought about their plan a bit more while she had been out on her little run. "Well, then we will likely have a much more difficult time tracking them down." Agent Salazar conceded. "But either way, we won't know unless I speak with some contacts." Velocity gave a small nod. He was right, they would not know unless he spoke with his contacts. She had not really expected a different answer, but still wanted to voice the concern. "Well, I guess I should get changed then." She replied, as she took the clothes he had gotten for her and made her way back into the bedroom, drawing the curtain back across the doorway behind her.

Velocity looked over towards Warp as the teenager arrived, apologizing for being late. The older heroine returned Warp's smile, though it was a bit more strained than usual. "No need to apologize." She stated. "If anyone is truly 'late,' it would be me, as one thing or another has been keeping me too busy these last few weeks." "How have you been?" The speedster asked, though from what she could see, it certainly appeared as if things had at least been going relatively normal for the teenager. "Hope your class load has not been too daunting or anything."

Freedom City, Theater District Monday, March 13, 2013 8:20 PM In a flash of yellow, Velocity arrived at the rooftop of the Barbary Theatre in Freedom City’s Theater District. The speedster was slightly early for her meeting with the teenager heroine Warp. Ever since their first meeting at the theater just a few days after the Day of Wrath, it had served as a convenient place for the pair to meet for when they would patrol together. They had met up a couple of times in late January and early February, but since mid-February, both their schedules had prevented them from being able to arrange a time to meet until tonight. For Velocity, the three or so weeks since she had last seen Warp had been incredibly taxing. First there had been her business trip to Sweden, and the encounter with a former boyfriend, and his possible future selves. In addition to dealing with the things that had been reveled during that trip, she had come back to trying to sort out what her feelings were regarding her current boyfriend, Kyle Conner and the hero Siphon, whom she had gone patrolling with a few times as well. On top of that her work load at Summit had been particularly heavy, and while she could have handled it easily with her superspeed, she had to be careful about being too fast with completing tasks. Right now, the young speedster was looking forward to a chance to catch some criminals and just forget about everything for a little bit. The last few times she had seen Warp, the teenager had been doing just fine, having gotten past the feelings she had had after the Day of Wrath. Hopefully there had been no major upheavals for the teen since, as Velocity was not certain how motivational she could be at the moment.

Okay, Tsunami is going to move (to try to get down to the bridge) and take a Total Defense standard action (raising her defense to +13, after the fatigue is figured in).
-
Tsunami heard Blodeuwedd's message, somewhat relieved that at least the boat was halted for the moment. But she was not sure what the other girl meant by having someone to "deal with." It was just then that she heard something, or more precisely, two something's landing towards somewhere forward on the ship. The Asian teen felt a bit torn now. For the moment she had removed Devil Ray as a threat, but he could very well return at anytime. Deciding it was time to try to find one or the other of her friends, she moves forward along the roof of the ship she had been fighting on to try to get down to the bridge. As she moved, she tried to weave and dodge about as much as possible, to make herself a harder target should Devil Ray return.
-
It would only be -5 (Notice checks are only -1 per 10', the -2 per range increment is only for attack rolls ). Well, IC appears to be back down. Tsunami only got a 13. Unless her detect water supersense helps (for sensing them passing through the rain), she probably only heard them.

Velocity pulled the curtain back across the bedroom door as she heard Agent Salazar moving around in the other room, likely getting ready to go to sleep. Looking around the bedroom, the young speedster saw that there was a small bed along the right hand wall, on which Salazar had set out some clothes. There was also a small table next to the bed, with a chair. On the wall opposite the entrance to the bedroom was a closed door, most likely a closet. Next to that was a short dresser. On the left hand wall of the room was another door, this one slightly ajar, leading into a small bathroom. Walking over to the bed, Velocity looked down at the clothes set out for her. There was a pair of olive shorts and a white, V neck short sleeve shirt. Reaching up with one hand, the young woman completely removed her goggles, which had been pulled up on her head since Agent Salazar had rescued her back on the docks in Varna. At the same time, she also removed her mask and the brunette wig that she wore with it. The young woman looked at the wig a moment, before making her way into the bathroom and turning on the light. Velocity's reflection in the mirror did not make her feel much better. Her long blonde hair was rather a mess, as often happened after being stuck underneath the mask and wig for a long time. Normally, she would be able to brush it back out at superspeed, but that was not an option right now. The young woman also saw just how tired and exhausted she was in her reflection. Taking the brown wig, Velocity set about fixing it into place, something she had never done without her mask before. At least having it on might allow her to feel she had done at least something to protect her identity for the next couple of days. That thought brought back to mind that she was going to have to be gone for longer than she had anticipated, let alone how long she had told Robert in the voice mail she had left those many hours ago. She needed to come up with some new excuse to call him with in the morning now. But what could she say that would explain being just suddenly gone for several days? When she had finally gotten the wig in place and all her blonde hair up underneath, something that was far more annoying to have to do at normal speed, Megan made her way back into the bedroom. Reaching up, she began unzipping her costume and taking it off to change into the clothes Agent Salazar had found for her. It was an odd feeling to have to take off the costume at normal speed, she had really only ever changed in or out of the costume using her superspeed. Once she had her costume off, Velocity began putting on the borrowed clothes. The shorts turned out to be a bit loose, but the shirt fit fairly well. At least they were clean. Just changing out of her costume helped her feel somewhat more relaxed. Climbing into the small bed, the young woman began to once again consider how she was going to explain to Robert that she was going to be gone longer. Pulling her costume’s belt over to her, Velocity opened the pouch in which she had placed her smartphone, planning to check and see if Robert had left her any message. She thought perhaps she might get an idea what to say based on his tone or what he might say, or that maybe just hearing his voice would help her come u with some excuse when she called in the morning. But, when she took her smartphone out, Velocity found that the screen was cracked and that she could not power up the device. Oh damn! She thought, as she lowered down the damaged phone and rolled over to look up at the ceiling. Without her phone, she had no way to try to call Robert in the morning, assuming she could even come up with some believable excuse for where she was. Of all the times the speedster had found her responsibilities as Velocity interfering with her personal life, this had to be about the worst. Most of the other times she was only sneaking away for a couple of hours, or having to cancel a date or something similar. This time she was going to be just be gone out of the blue for possibly a couple of days, in all likelihood without even a chance to try to come up with some story, however weak, as to why she had to be gone. Velocity's strong feelings for Robert made the situation all the more difficult, making her feel all the worse about hiding this aspect of her life from him and having to lie about it. But, on the other side was the seriousness of the situation she and Agent Salazar were trying to deal with. The rogue UNISON superagents had material that could be used to produce a nuclear weapon, which could be a threat to countless lives. If she did not do everything she could to try to stop that plutonium from falling into the wrong hands…she did not even want to think about that. Rolling over on her side, the young speedster tried to push all the chaotic thoughts from her head as she closed her eyes to try to get some sleep.

SC, should I make a notice check to see if Tsunami spotted Freebooter and the Crimson Tiger leaping up onto the deck of the ship?
