  1. GM "No, I wasn't wondering if you could fly." Gorrell replied with a small smile as he and Edge wadded into the flooded sections of the village and started towards the river’s edge. "Just wanted to get an idea about what resources we might have in terms of dealing with the after effects of the flood while trying to do what we can to prevent it from happening again during the rest of the rainy season." He regarded the hero for a moment as they wadded along. "A vortex? Where would you be sending it away to? Some other dimension? Or just somewhere else nearby?" He asked. "While I realize it may seem a bit counter intuitive when we are dealing with a flood here, water is scarce enough resource on this continent that I would prefer not to do anything that permanently removes any significant amounts of it from the ecosystem. This area may currently have an overabundance, but that can change rather quickly." The pair made their way through the crude buildings of the village, past the villagers and Blue Jay who were trying to locate anything salvageable within the flooded area. Reaching the banks of the river, Edge could see that there were some earthen levies in place, but that sections of them had been collapsed by what looked like overrun caused by the initial flooding. The damage was significant enough that the raised water level of the river meant that removing the flood waters in the village would mean that new water from the river would immediately flow into the vacated space. "Well, these are certainly going to have to be repaired before we do anything about the water in the village." The civil engineer replied as he and Edge continued to walk along the banks of the river, surveying the damage.
  2. The dark van made its way into the docks, passing by the huge crane where Blur was waiting. The other speedster ran alongside the van for the remaining distance to where the SUVs were parked and the Organizatsiya members were waiting. The van stopped a short distance from the SUV that was parked alongside the docks facing north. Four individuals exited the van, making their way towards the front of the vehicle. As best Velocity could tell, there appeared to be one women and three men, one of whom was taller than the others. "Four additional members of the Arsenal confirmed." Came Agent Salazar's voice over the comm. "Looks like Bola, Widowmaker, Barrage, and Kilowatt." "Confirming primary targets." Spartan spoke up. "Velocity, you have Blur. Flechette, Bola is yours. Clansman, you are to engage Widomaker. Powerplay, Barrage is your responsibility. And I will deal with Kilowatt." "Got it." Velocity replied. "Oui." Said Flechette. "On it." Came the response from Clansman. "Understood." Chimed in Powerplay. "Remember, we must confirm the presence of the plutonium before we engage." Agent Salazar reminded everyone. Velocity could feel adrenaline starting to kick in from the anticipation of the coming fight. The members of the Arsenal appeared to be talking with the Organizatsiya members who had remained near the dockside SUV. Though it was hard to be sure, it looked to the speedster as if one of the mercenaries had handed some sort of briefcase to one of the Organizatsiya members. "Looks like payment has been made." Agent Salazar stated a moment later. "Stand ready." Spartan stated. "But wait for confirmation of the presence of the plutonium." The moments began to seem to stretch out far longer than they really were to Velocity, the anticipation making things all the more tense. Down on the docks, one of the Organizatsiya members appeared to put something to his hear, perhaps a cellphone. Then out in the harbor, there was some movement in the darkness. "One moment. Looks like something is happening out on the water." Velocity stated, as she focused on the movement. "Looks like some sort of small boat that is heading towards the docks." "The boat could be delivering the plutonium." Spartan replied. "Everyone continue to hold until we have confirmation." The waiting just seemed to get harder as Velocity watched the small boat, what appeared to be a speedboat, make its way towards the dock as if moving in slow motion. After a couple of minutes, the speedboat finally pulled up alongside the docks. "Another four Organizatsiya members." Agent Salazar stated. "Two armed with AKMs." The Organizatsiya members climbed out of the speedboat, and it looked to Velocity as if one of them was carrying some sort of cylindrical object. "Hold on." Came Agent Salazar's voice. There were a few tense moments of silence before he spoke once more. "Plutonium's presence confirmed." "Copy, plutonium's presence confirmed." Replied Spartan. "We are a go. Keep the plutonium off of that boat until we can secure!" Velocity glanced over at Clansman. "Good luck." She said with a small smile before she was off in a blur of motion, running down the side of the building to make her way over to the docks.
  3. Giang felt her confidence return as John moved to generally place himself between her and the man who had identified himself as "Bloody Mess." But the man's apparent naivety was still somewhat confusing, assuming it was not just some act. At least it appeared he would not just continue fighting to try to take her, but still likely required some answers to just let her leave. "You appear to know very little about your employer." She stated, her tone still cold. "These men were not 'hired' by my father, they serve him, as part of a criminal organization he oversees on behalf of another. Of course that aspect of my father is not known to the general public, in which he is generally perceived as a successful businessman." "I am well aware that eventually I will need to face my father, and most likely my half-siblings. But there is much I need to learn about myself before I am prepared for such a confrontation. As for why he is searching for me, I did indeed run away from him, because I decided I did not wish to be a part of his plans of ambition."
  4. Giang was glad to see the Roman's quickly change their views once the Serpent Person spy was reveled. As Subito volunteered to fly out to pass along a message to the Roman army that had been sent astray by the spy and try to bring back additional proof of the dinosaur army that was gathering, the Asian teen looked slightly skeptical. "I agree the Roman army needs to be brought back to help defend the city and to prevent them from further escalating a conflict with the Viracochasuyuns, but is it truly necessary to provide more proof of the dinosaur army that we saw? That seems an unnecessary risk at this point." She then looked over at Ceyrs and John before continuing in a low voice, "Did not the Serpent People we observed along the road also mention that they had other agents among the Romans in this city?"
  5. Giang nodded slightly as Marcus explained to her that he was able to smell magic on her, smiling slightly as he mentioned that it was not a bad smell. "Thank you for confirming my suspicion." She replied. "I will admit I know very little about magic, or the theory behind it, save for what overlap there may be in the teachings of Taoism or Confucianism. But given your confirmation, I am rather certain that it is 'elemental' in nature. I have strong reason to believe that I my powers are drawn from the shui, or water phase, of the Wu Xing. And if that is truly the case, then there are more abilities I have yet to learn to use."
  6. Velocity looked up as Siphon made his way over and formally introduced himself. Siphon saw that he did not really need to put on gloves to shake the speedster’s hands, as she wore gloves herself. "Good to meet you as well Siphon." She responded. When he then apologized for duplicating her powers, the young woman gave a small smile. "Oh, so that is what happened? Well, considering that you duplicated my speed when I tackled you out of the blue, it was probably a pretty good defensive reaction to try to copy the powers of someone that was potentially attacking you." "And anyway, if you hadn't copied them, you would not have been able to help with dealing with these guys. The fact they had terrible aim did not make this little chase dangerous for any innocent bystanders the longer it went on. So thanks for the help in cutting it short."
  7. Just so I am clear, Velocity is currently going to keep the fatigue from the power stunt.
  8. Going to see my brother and sister-in-law (and nephews) tomorrow through Saturday. Will have my laptop, but not sure I will be getting to any posting till Saturday evening (at the earliest).
  9. As Bloody Mess introduced himself and stated why he and his partner had been looking for her, Giang's expression went from generally neutral to hostile. "You were sent by my father as well?" The Asian teen asked, taking a slight step backward from the man. "If you truly are trying to help him, I do not understand why you fought these men, who were also sent by him." She gestured around at the unconscious martial artists nearby. "But regardless, I have no intention of returning to Hong Kong. I do not wish to continue fighting, but I will if you try to stop me."
  10. Velocity again felt deep regret about having to fight Robert as he briefly seemed to struggle before rejecting the idea that the watch was exerting some sort of control over him. That hesitance allowed the speedster to avoid his attempt to slam the watch into her, something made the young woman cringe slightly, guessing it was likely an attempt to get a sample of her DNA. As much as she did not want to hurt him, Velocity knew she had to stop Robert and try to get the watch away from him. As he began to run from the room, she had an idea of how she might be able to stop him without seriously injuring him. Rushing between him and the door, the speedster started swinging her right hand at him once more. "I am sorry Robert." She stated, as her fist sped up to hypersonic speeds. But this time her goal was not to try and hit Robert. Instead, she aimed her fist just in front of him, breaking the sound barrier just right so there was a loud *CRACK* and a small concussive shockwave that was produced. That shockwave slammed square into Robert's chest, knocking him backward slightly, before he fell to the floor unconscious.
  11. Velocity is going to power stunt an alt power for her superspeed array. This stunted alt is identical to her existing Strike power, only it will also include a new feat: Stunning Attack, as there are unspent points in the normal power. Then she is going to try to use the new alt to Stun Robert. She gets a 28. If that hits, it is a DC 23 Fort save.
  12. Velocity (50) (4) (12) (18) (3) (4) (5) (3) (1) Tsunami (14) (2) (1) (6) (2) (1) (2) GM (16) (So, Velocity should just have 50 posts, if that is correct, all GM posts to Tsunami. If I am off on Velocity's, then I would like her to get 50 posts and all remaining to Tsunami). (8) (2) (2) (4)
  13. Varna, Bulgaria 10:24 PM (EEST); (8:24 BST)) The night air that had settled over Varna was cool, but a clear indication that winter was truly over and the summer was approaching. Velocity was on a rooftop a short distance from the docks where the delivery was supposed to take place, along with Clansman. The pair had been at this location for well over an hour now, which had seemed to pass excruciatingly slow for the young speedster. As the time for the meeting drew ever closer, the time only seemed to pass slower, as Velocity found herself actually looking forward to the action starting so she would have something to focus on. Of course, the speedster knew her anxiety and anticipation were almost certainly a result of the worries and uncertainty she had been struggling with regarding her and Robert's future prior to receiving the call about this mission from Captain Thunder. But with the five UNISON agents counting on her to do her part when the time came, the young woman was determined to not let those thoughts distract her when the time came. Hopefully that would be sooner rather than later. The time continued to tick slowly by when Agent Salazar's voice came over the comm. unit shared by the group. "Two vehicles approaching target location from the south." Sure enough, that moment two vehicles came into Velocity's line of sight, driving up alongside the waterfront and past several warehouses that lay to the south of the area where the exchange was supposed to take place. It was hard to make out the vehicles exact make and color in the dark, but they were both clearly SUVs of some sort. The two SUVs came to a halt near the northeast corner of a warehouse. Just to the northwest of where the vehicles stopped, hundreds of cargo containers were stacked in rows and columns, creating a maze like area larger than any of the nearby warehouses. A huge crane, for loading the containers onto ships, stood just north/northeast of the maze of cargo containers. One of the SUVs turned to west and came to a halt in the space between the warehouse and the cargo container maze. The second stopped facing north alongside the edge of the cocks, the dark harbor stretching out to the east. Almost as soon as the SUVs stopped, a number of people exited from them. Despite the distance and darkness, the technology in Velocity's goggles allowed her to count about ten individuals, many of whom appeared to be armed. A moment later, Agent Salazar confirmed the number as several of them began to move out away from the two vehicles to create a perimeter. "Ten likely hostiles in view, three armed with AKMs, five with PP-19 Bizons and two with no apparently visible weapons." "That certainly sounds like they are from the Organizatsiya." Came Powerplay's voice over the comm. "Should we not try to make a move now while it is only them?" "Negative." Came the almost whispered reply from Spartan. "We must confirm the presence of the plutonium before we taken action. For now we hold." "Understood." Powerplay replied curtly as Velocity continued to observe what was going on down by the docks. Nearby, Clansman had tensed up slightly, clearly ready to leap into action when the moment arrived. Shifting her attention away from the docks, Velocity began scanning the streets and areas surrounding the docks. As she did, the young woman spotted a figure moving along a street at superhuman speeds. "Wait. I think I have spotted Blur." She said over the comm. "Approaching from the northwest." "Can you confirm?" Whispered Spartan. "I am pretty certain it's him. Unless there is someone else with superspeed operating in this town." Velocity replied before she noted his path and guessed what he was likely there to do. "Hold on. I think he is scouting out the area. Keep your heads down." No sooner had she provided the warning than the speeding figure had zipped over into the section of the docks where the SUVs were waiting, making a quick pass around the area. After the high speed search, the figure moved back up to the northern end of the docks, slowing down as he began to circle underneath the huge crane and out of sight of the SUVs. "Looks like he's done with his search." Velocity stated over the comm. Just then, Clansman gently touched the speedster's arm to get her attention. Glancing over, Velocity saw he was looking back towards the north, point towards a vehicle coming from the same direction Blur had. The young woman zoomed in on the vehicle, which turned out to be a dark colored van. "Okay, Clansman has spotted a van that came from the same direction as Blur. It's heading right towards the docks." "That is likely the other members of The Arsenal making the pick up." Said Agent Salazar. "Keep them under observation, but we have to confirm that the plutonium is here before we make any move."
  14. Yeah
  15. "Lucky shot? You wish." Velocity shot back at the muscle bound mercenary. "I know you think your tough and all, but I joined the Freedom League just before I finished high school. I've fought plenty of opponents tougher than you." With that, the yellow clad speedster became a blur of motion, moving back up next to the large mercenary. Her hand shooting out once again at supersonic speeds with another loud *CRACK* *WHAM* Once again she delivered a solid punch to the mercenary's jaw. But though his head snapped to the side for a moment, he remained standing where he was as he quickly brought his head back around to face Velocity. But she was already back down the block, having moved away from him after landing her punch.
  16. So, unless either of you have a reason to feel otherwise, that is the end of combat SC, this might be a good time for a somewhat recovered Hound to catch up with the others (there can be some stairway with roof access in part of the building)
  17. Myrmidon's blow stuck solidly, knocking the martial artist leader onto the rooftop. The man briefly seemed like he was going to push himself back up, but then collapsed unconscious. Giang had watched as John had leapt to help finish off the last of the agents sent by her father. Glancing quickly around the rooftop, the Asian teen satisfied herself that there were no more evident threats. Taking a deep breath, she made her way over towards John and the stranger who had been fighting the martial artist leader, though she was still not entirely certain who he was or whether he might be a threat as well. For the moment she was willing to accept that he was at least neutral, but she would be on her guard. "Thank you for your assistance." She stated as she drew near, waiting to see how the man would react.
  18. The last Zoom using gang member arrived near his downed leader, trying to help the young man up as Velocity zipped back towards the pair. *CRACK* Her fist shot out at supersonic speeds, striking the gang member using Zoom squarely across the jaw with a loud *WHAM*. The impact sent the man flying backward, where he slammed into a wall and the crumpled onto the sidewalk unconscious. *CRACK* Velocity followed up on her momentum, aiming another supersonic punch at the now upright gang leader. *WHAM* The attack struck him squarely and knocked him back into a parked car as he also was knocked unconscious and fell into a heap. The yellow clad speedster glanced around a brief moment, noting that Siphon seemed to have dealt with the remaining gang members on motorcycles.
  19. Round Six: Velocity: 60 (2 HP) Zoom Dark Fist 3: 37 Ye Quan: 18 (staggered, bruised) Siphon: 9 (3 HP) Okay, the chase is effectively over at the moment, as the gang leader is off his motorcycle and the last remaining Zoom Dark Fist has moved over near him to try to help him. While Siphon might have been far behind, he is more than fast enough to catch up in a move action. Velocity will stick with Def attack, -3 atk/+3 def. Taking 10 she will hit ZDF 3, who almost gets a natural 20 on his toughness save (which would have allowed him to stay conscious), but he is out. She will use Takedown attack to try to put down the gang leader as well, she gets a 21 on her roll, which hits. He really blows his toughness save (getting a 12 vs DC 28), so he is unconscious. So, combat is now over.
  20. Tiff, for the moment Velocity is going to wait and see if Asad flies down to meet with the Merge about to go through the front door (or otherwise make his on way in). The she will probably run through the walls to meet up with the Merge by the door (and Asad depending on what he does). Sound good?
  21. Sorry I missed the posts earlier CC, thanks for getting them up. I mentioned the few changes I needed for you IC post in chat. I don't have much to add at the moment, so you two can chat some
  22. He gets an 18, so I will say that puts him out. Go ahead and post IC.
  23. GM Jubatus When Jubatus had talked with Lt. Lidimo back at the base camp, the officer had proven to have little in the way of information about any superpowered opposition, indicating that he had no information about any such individuals operating in this area. He also was not expecting any specific hostilities to the humanitarian aid efforts, noting that Mozambique's civil war had ended over twenty years ago, and the country had been considerably stable since then. The lieutenant recognized that the possibility existed that there may be looters active, but he had no reports of looting at present. According to Lidimo, the only significant armed presence in the area was the security detachment for PanStar Heavy Construction, the company that was building the damn that had partially collapsed and be a significant cause of the flooding. But despite the lieutenant's belief that there was no imminent threat to the relief efforts, the humanoid cheetah still felt that an abundance of caution was never unnecessary, especially when he could take that caution without slowing down the rest of the group. Scouting ahead of the Land Rover and the cargo HUMVEE, Jubatus soon discovered that, at least in this instance, there was no need for concern. There were no buried landmines along the road, no armed men waiting in ambush, just jungle and the dangerously overburdened river. As the group arrived at the first village to suffer from the flood and set about determining the extent of the aid the village would likely need to recover from the flooding, Jubatus found a moment to speak with Lt. Lidimo about the strange stares he had been receiving from the villagers that he encountered, which had included a group of children that had come over to where the humanoid cheetah had been working to look at him for awhile. The lieutenant glanced over at a pair of nearby villagers, who appeared to realize they had been staring and moved back to work, before looking back at Jubatus and giving a small smile. "They are Makua Mr. Jubatus." The officer stated. "The majority of them are animists, they worship the spirits of the animals, plants, even the river. There are also a number of local legends involving the great cats, lions and cheetahs, which used to be more common in this region." Blue Jay Moving into action almost immediately after the vehicles had come to a stop, Blue Jay had to wade into the knee deep water to get to the nearest collapsed structure, a small, one story home. The water made examination of the rubble a bit more difficult, but the teenager was rather certain there was no one still trapped underneath. She could make out some things floating in pockets of space beneath the rubble, but none of them appeared to be of particular use to the present survival needs facing the villagers. The village she had greeted in French regarded her a brief moment before he made a reply in the same language she had heard Lt. Lidimo speaking with some of the villagers that had approached the DI team. His expression seemed friendly enough however, as he went about searching through another partially collapsed building for things that could be salvaged. Edge As Dr. Rangan and Nurse Myers, made their way over to the villagers gathered in the few above water buildings and makeshift shelters, Mr. Gorrell was pulling out two pairs of wadding boots from the back of the Land Rover. He offered one of the pair to Edge. "Care to accompany me in going over near the edge of the river to get a better idea of what might need to be done to get the flood waters out of the village?" As he began pulling one of the pairs of boots on, he continued. "If understand correctly, the teenage girl that went with Dr. Corte's group north has the ability to move water? While you are a telekinetic correct?"
  24. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANSPEAR!!
  25. He is down, with a toughness save of 13, go ahead with you IC post!
