Sigh, for some reason my edits of the prior post are not working. Anyway, as discussed in chat, I decided after rolling to just fiat the finish to the fight, as this fight was not supposed to be a major part of the story.

Man, this guy is luck, a 24 on his toughness save! But he can't land a hit. A 10 on his next attack.
-
Hit, but he the guy gets an awsome toughness save with a 25, so is unhurt. But he misses with his attack. 18. Mess is up.
-
And he counter attacks, also just missing with a 19. So Mess is up again!
-
Round two: Bloody Mess (Unharmed, 2 HP) Boxer (Unharmed) Mess is up!
-
Bloody Mess Freddy managed to land his quick jab on his opponent, but the larger man either was just able to pull his head back slightly so that the impact was lessened. The man snapped his focus back on Freddy in an instant, and launched his own jab at the private investigator almost as quickly. But Freddy was easily able to duck under the attack, slipping off to one side. Crimson Tiger Moving down towards where some of the bookies were set up was not an easy thing, given that Crimson Tiger had been hiding up in the rafters of the old factory. But, she took her time, sticking to the shadows and making her way over towards one of the support columns. Thankfully her task was made somewhat easier by the fact that no one was looking up, the majority having their attentions focused on what was going on down in the makeshift ring, or in a few cases, on those in the crowd, looking for signs of trouble. Soon the Asian teen was hidden nearby the pair of men who had been taking bets on one side of the "stands." With a new fight having just begun, they were momentarily without anything to do other than watch and talk. The superheroine had apparently arrived in the middle of their conversation as one of the men seemed to be explaining some things to the other, apparently a newcomer to the operation. "Yeah, so if someone is able to prove themselves down in the ring here, we often kick them on up to the next level." Said one of the two men. "The next level?" Asked the second man. "See, the guys that fight here can do okay, sometimes winning a fair bit by placing bets on themselves and winning fights. But they can often end up with broken bones and other injuries that can put them out for a long time. When they move up to the next level, a fighting ring run by a mob family over in Greenbank, then they have the chance for even bigger paydays." The first explained. "Of course, the risks are a bit higher as well. I heard last month one of the fighters there died during a fight."

Tsunami dodged aside as Devil Ray tried to grab her, noting the ease with which he had crushed the steel and wood he grabbed instead. Clearly she would want to as much as possible to avoid that grasp. "That remains to be seen villain." She responded flatly to his boosting as she once again brought her hands in front of her to send a blast of water towards the armored mercenary. Once again the twisting jets of water slammed squarely into Devil Ray's chest. But this time, the result was far more dramatic than her previous attack. The blast easily lifted the villain off his feet, sending him flying backward with sufficient force that he soon vanished into the dark of the night and well beyond Tsunami's sight. The Asian teen regarded the darkness a moment, the spoke over the comm. she had with Blod and Crimson Tiger. "I have momentarily removed Devil Ray as a threat, but that could change again very quickly. Is everyone alright?"
-
The boxer takes a swing at Mess, getting a 21. Normally good enough to hit, but not with the defensive attack boost you have. GM post coming up soon.
-
Your opponent gets a 10 on his toughness save, a bit too bad a result for quite this early, so I will reroll (have a Hero Point!), getting a 22, so he takes the hit.
-
"I am glad to hear that you are recovering." Giang replied with a smile. The Asian teen then gave a slight nod as Kristin mentioned learning from her encounter. "There certainly are times when failure can provide the same opportunities for learning as success. Combat is rarely the optimal place for such learning, given the potential for failure to be potentially lethal, which is why sparing is a preferable means for such learning. But I am very glad that the instances you mentioned were ones from which you could take some lesson." Giang then smiled again as the Australian girl apologized. "I do not think you are being unpleasant company in any way. But, things have been rather difficult of late." While Kristin seemed particularly focused on the events of the Day of Wrath, as tended to be many of the other students, for Giang, her and John's encounter in Chinatown earlier in the month stood out more.

Cape, I think you mean Accurate Attack, not All Out Attack? (as Accurate Attack sacrifices damage for accuracy, while All Out Attack sacrifices defense for more accuracy, which would just be reversing what you accomplished with Defensive Attack). I do not see Accurate Attack on Mess' sheet, which would mean you only get the normal that everyone can do (-2 DC, +2 Atk). Even with that change, you will still hit, and the DC will be 21. That sound right?
-
Okay, Tsunami is continuing Defensive Attack, -2 atk/+2 def, giving her +7 atk/+11 def. She again gets a natural 20 on her attack roll for a 27 and a critical hit! Again, DC 30 toughness save for Devil Ray (and if applicable, a +17 attack for purposes of knockback)
-
Mess' opponent ties with him for initiative. But Mess' slightly higher Dex give him the tie breaker, so Mess is up!

Giang had also been relatively quite while she had been working alongside Blue Jay in helping unload the medical supplies. The system devised by Danger International to allow ease in setting up the field clinic helped make the task one that could be done by anyone, even someone like the Asian teen who had little in the way of medical or first aid training. There had been even less opportunity to speak with anyone during the time the group handled the unloading of the transport plane and organizing those supplies. When it came time to be split into two groups to make initial visits to the affected areas, Giang found herself on the team headed for the northern bank of the river. The Asia teen had given Marcus a small smile as they ended up in the back of the Land Rover, being bounced around as it made its way along the rough road from the airstrip until they reached the relatively smoother highway that would take them across the river to the northern bank. Giang had been quite during the trip, taking in the terrain and sights as they made their way. However, when Marcus spoke up, the Asian teen turned to give him her full attention. "Yes, though please, you can call me Giang." She replied with a small smile as he sought to confirm her code name. When he asked his question, she seemed to consider it for a moment before she replied. "I am not entirely certain what you might mean by 'magically-inclined.' However, I have for sometime suspected that my powers might derive from some sort of mystical source or connection. But I have never been able to confirm this suspicion."

GM The chase continued down the streets of the West End at high speed. As Siphon managed to knock another one of the motorcycle riding gang members down, the next closest gang member on a motorcycle had to make some sudden maneuvers to avoid hitting the downed bike. But the gang member corrected too sharply given the speed he was going, and he lost control, his motorcycle veering off to the opposite side of the street where it slammed into a parked car and the gang member was sent flying over the front of the car, crashing hard onto the sidewalk on the other side. Siphon managed to close about half the distance that he had allowed form between him and the last Zoom using gang member. Once again, the young gang member turned backward slightly to fire his sub-machinegun at the hero. The bullets from the burst impacted along the street in front of Siphon, close, but not close enough. Another gunshot rang out from behind Siphon, as the last gang member on his motorcycle fired a pistol at the speeding hero, but missed badly. Far up ahead, the three combatants could see the gang leader get knocked off his motorcycle and land on the sidewalk to the left of the street.

ZDF 3 fires his SMG at Siphon, getting a 23, normally a hit, but just missing given the range modifiers. DF 3 fires his pistol at Siphon, getting a 19, also missing due to even worse range modifiers. Siphon is up!
-
Velocity continued speeding down the streets of the West End, easily keeping pace with the gang leader on the motorcycle. She heard the gunshots sounding behind her, but it seemed Siphon was doing okay even though he was being shot at (and the speedster thought she might have seen him hit by one shot), as he took down another of the gang members on a motorcycle. Focusing her attention back on the gang leader, Velocity easily closed with him once more, determined this time to try to put the criminal down. *CRACK* Once again the sound of her fist breaking the sound barrier echoed along the street. *WHAM* This time, the supersonic punch connected, solidly, with the gang leader. The forcefield of dark energy that protected him buckled under the force of the punch, and the young man was knocked completely off his motorcycle, which promptly flipped over and skid about fifty feet along down the street, before coming to a halt. The gang leader himself flew up the sidewalk, managing to flip into a roll as he hit the pavement, rolling a few times until he finished mostly on his feet. But he looked to barely be hanging on to consciousness, and was currently dazed, trying to get his bearings back. Okay, maybe this will finally bring this dangerous chase to a halt. Thought the speedster as she doubled back around to where the gang leader had ended up.
-
Same as last round for Velocity, Def attack, -3 atk/+3 def and going for the gang leader. This time she gets a 27, almost a critical hit, but still a hit. Gang leader’s toughness save (vs DC 28): 18, which is Staggered and Dazed. He is knocked off his motorcycle, but gets a 20 on his acrobatics roll, so he manages to avoid taking any further damage because of that.

Round Five: Velocity: 60 (2 HP) Zoom Dark Fist 3: 37 Ye Quan: 18 (bruised) Dark Fist 3: 18 Siphon: 9 (3 HP) Okay, a new round of chase rolls: Velocity gets a: 38 The gang leader gets a: 19 ZDF 3 gets a: 13 The last two gang members on bikes get: 18 and 1 Dark Fist 4 did so poorly on his chase roll that he crashes his bike trying to avoid the bike of the gang member Siphon just downed. As shown below, Siphon can either continue trying to catch up with the Zoom using dark fist member (who he closed with considerably), or he can fall back and deal with the last gang member on a motorcycle (other than the leader that is). (tentative for Round 5) Gang Leader/ Velocity (10 lengths) ZDF 3 (7 lengths) Siphon (7 lengths) DF 3

Okay, while I wait for your IC post, I will post Velocity's attack roll against the big guy. She will power attack this time, -2 atk, +2 dam (for +15 dam). She gets a 19, which I believe is still a hit. That is a DC 30 toughness save for Coppertop.

Velocity had been running along on the ground below the flying platform of rock that Gain Knight was controlling to transport the remaining scientists and UNISON soldiers when the massive creature the that the UNISON personnel had dubbed the Simurgh started swooping down towards the rock platform. The young woman frowned slightly. It was times like this that her powers left her at something of a disadvantage. The creature was currently too high in the air for her to reach with the only ranged attack she did have, and while she was considerably faster than the massive winged creature, she had no way of gaining altitude to be able to engage it right now. So, the yellow clad speedster opted instead for zigzagging around on the ground below the flying rock platform, hoping to perhaps distract the Simurgh from the others. Velocity rather doubted how successful she might be at that, particular given that Tiamat had launched herself into the air and returned to her dragon form, likely making her a much more attractive target. But just in case she did succeed at drawing the Simurgh's attention, the speedster focused on making herself as hard to hit as possible as she ran.
-
Okay, Velocity is spending a hero point to power stunt Acrobatic Bluff to try to distract the Simurgh. She gets a 33 on the roll. She is using her standard action for Total Defense, giving her a +19 for her defense (for a 29 total).

Set out on the table was a large map and a number of photographs of what appeared to be a group of warehouses along a waterfront. "Based on our intelligence, this area will be where the Georgian Organizatsiya will be delivering the plutonium in about five and a half hours. The target area is about three kilometers from our present location, but that is not a concern for you I would think. Most of the rest of us will be moving into positions within a couple of hours." Velocity spent a few moments studying the map and the various photographs. While to most it might seem only a cursory examination, for the speedster, it was in fact the equivalent of spending more than half an hour (and could have been even more if she had really felt like they needed a more thorough examination). "So, do we know anything about potential opposition?" She then asked. This time it was Agent Salazar who answered. "The Georgian based Organizatsiya, like similar groups in Russia and other former Soviet bloc countries, has members that are former KGB or Soviet/Russian military. While I know such individuals might not pose the greatest threat to someone with your abilities, they are still not to be underestimated. In fact, it is likely these individuals that allowed this group to acquire the plutonium in question. Securing that material is the primary objective of this mission. All other considerations are secondary to that goal. If we had information on where it was being stored, we would not be standing around here right now." Agent Salazar then handed the speedster a stack of dossiers. "These contain what information we have on some of the group's more prominent members. However, we have no solid intelligence of whether any of them will be present tonight." Velocity flipped quickly through the folders, looking at the information inside while the UNISON agent continued. "The greater threat tonight will come from a group of superpowered mercenaries that is supposed to be meeting with the Organizatsiya representatives. The group is known as The Arsenal and has a number of members, though it is quite rare for all of them to be on a mission together. Their leader is an America, a former US Navy SEAL, who also goes by the codename Arsenal." The Spanish UNISON agent then held out another stack of dossiers. "These have information of the various know members of The Arsenal." Once again Velocity took the offered folders and began flipping through them, studying the contents at superspeed. "You will note that one of their members has superspeed." Spartan commented. "I see that." Velocity replied, pausing briefly while looking at one of the dossiers. "Blur huh?" "The same." Spartan acknowledged. "Again, we do not know if he will be present tonight. But if he is, perhaps it would be best if you concentrate on neutralizing him? You of all of us can best counter his speed." "Sure." Velocity replied. "I have some experience with fighting other speedsters, so if he shows up tonight, I'll focus on him." "Very good." Spartan stated with a small nod. He then looked back down at the map on the table. "Let us review for you what we have come up with thus far in terms of a plan for tonight."

Okay, Velocity is going to use her standard action for a Total Defense action (or whatever it is called), giving her +4 to her defense, making it +19 total (or 29). That ends her action for the second round, giving the bad guys a chance to get back to their feet and maybe surrender (yeah right! )
-
Velocity winced slightly as her punch put the large man through a wall across the street. She had expected him to be a bit harder to knock off his feet. But then she had landed a pretty solid hit. She smiled slightly as Silver Spider arrived, knocking the female supermerc off her feet as well. Thus far the supervillains were not fairing particularly well, though the experienced heroine knew that could change in an instant. Still, the speedster had suggested they surrender, so she should at least give them the opportunity to do so before she continued pummeling the large man into unconsciousness. So, instead of following after the large man and pressing the attack, she waited outside to see what he did when he got back to his feet. But she was not about to make herself an easy target for him however.
