We have split up Fenris is off to find Lind. Velocity is off to Paris.
-
Mess is getting pulvarized! Least he isn't dazed this round and can act. Still a bit of a ways to go before his boost will fade.
-
Velocity followed along with Fenris as he made his way out of the lab to get her a communicator. "No, I don’t think Harrow's focus is going to shift from me, at least not for very long." She replied. "Right now I am not sure how much I can trust what I have been told, but I believe we have a significant temporal incursion on our hands." "If your able to get some sort of long range means of scanning for him and the watch, I can suggest a couple of areas to focus the search on the mainland. One is Paris, France, where I will be heading first, should only take me a couple minutes to get there. Two others are Nice, France and Verbier, Switzerland. If nothing turns up in those locations or other places on the mainland, then you might need to expand your search to England, naturally, and possibly Ibiza and maybe even the Maldives." Taking the communicator, she gave him a small smile. "Thanks, I'll be in touch. Good luck." And with that, she was off in a blur just as the armored hero disappeared from view as well. A few seconds later she was out of the building and began accelerating to high-hypersonic speeds as she in the general direction of France, given she was able to run across water to get there.

GM Back on the other rooftop, the armored martial artist seemed briefly unsure what to do, as they were far away from the sorcerer, and thus could not do anything to try to assist him. But then they spread out along the roof, in possible anticipation of being transported to his aid as they had been lifted up to the roof earlier. Meanwhile their leader continued to focus his attention on Bloody Mess. Just as the private investigator's vision began to clear and he recovered from the armored man's last attack, the martial artist was coming at him once more. This time the armored man launched a quick front kick, followed by backhand strike with his right hand, all of which was the lead in for a powerful palm strike which he delivered perfectly into Mess' solar plexus. The grey suited man was trying to remain on his feet, as he faced Myrmidon and continued to keep his hold on Giang. Realizing the odds were very much against him if he remained where he was, the man disappeared once again in a puff of white smoke, appearing back on the other rooftop amid the various armored martial artists still over there. The "serpent" that was holding Giang flew back across the open space between the two rooftops, to once again come to hover near the grey suited man.

The golden armored guy is hitting Mess again, getting a 29, so another DC 21 toughness save for Mess (he is bound to make one of them, though they are getting harder)

Giang was held tight inside the glowing mystical energy commanded by the man in the grey suit. But she could just make out as John leapt over to attack the man, but apparently not causing any significant injury as she continued to remain tightly restrained. But the Asian teen was not going to give up so easily. Focusing past the slight pain she felt from the constrictive pressure being exerted all over her body, she reached out with her other senses to focus on the water inside the man with the grey suit. Focusing her powers on that water, she began to make some of it evaporate, trying to dehydrate the man enough that he might release her, or pass out. Facing off with Myrmidon, the man in the grey suit seemed a bit nervous to be facing the armored figure all on his own, while trying to hold his target contained. Then a sudden look of surprise and discomfort seemed to cross the man's face before being replaced by a tired, haggard expression, as his body seemed to sag slightly. To Myrmidon, the man seemed to suddenly have been overcome with exhaustion.

Giang makes a concentration roll to try to use her powers while grappled. Getting a 24. She uses a hero point to remove her fatigue and power stunts a new power: Fatigue (dehydration) 10 (Extra: Ranged; Flaw: Full Action; Feat: Accurate 2, subtle, Indirect 2) {25pp} She power attacks the sorcerer -2 atk/+2 DC. Her attack roll is a: 21 for a hit. The sorcerer makes a fort save (DC 22) getting a: 17. Just failing by 5 makes him Exhausted (-6 Str and Dex, -3 attack and defense)
-
Giang smiled slight as Kristin described what she did for "fun," which for the most part sounded like training and what some of the classes at the school involved. Not that the Asian teen did not think sparing or gymnastics could not be a way to relax some or fun, but given Kristin's comment about hoping Giang did not spend all her free time meditating it seemed just a little bit hypocritical. "I am afraid I have never played soccer either." She replied. "Though I would not be adverse to trying sometime." When the other girl mentioned being injured recently, Giang gave her a sympathetic look. "I am sorry to hear that. You are recovering well I hope?"
-
That is a hit. First roll is a 13, HP to Myr for a reroll: 28 (after the +10 is added). So his force field soaks it up.

Burning the Midnight Financial Reports from the the SEHK
Thevshi replied to TheAbsurdist's topic in Wading Way
"I would not say your being prideful." Megan responded. "Particularly if you are following the tenants of your faith." "Hmm, that sounds like a nice car. If it is as rare as it sounds, probably best if you don’t drive it all the time anyway." Megan commented, before giving a small shrug. "Me? I'm still making do with the X-5 I have had since my Junior year at North Bay. It's been useful for hauling stuff between here and New Haven, and back." "I probably should be thinking about replacing it though, but have not thought too much about what I might want in its place." She then added. "Right now I don’t have any particular needs for a car, other than convenience when I want to go over to my parents' house." -
GM The man in the grey suit watched the fighting over on the other rooftops, frowning slightly as a number of the armored martial artists were quickly removed from the fight by his target and a armored figure that had appeared in the area where the blond youth had been. A few quick gestures and a brief incantation, and he sent another spell in the direction of the Asian teen. Above the other rooftop, golden mystical energy once again took the form of a large serpent, which twisted in the air and dove down at Giang. The teenager tried to dodge aside, but the golden serpent wrapped itself around her, trapping her in its mystical coils. Then it began flying back through the air, carrying her over to the rooftop on which the grey suited sorcerer was standing.

And now Round Five: Grey Suit: 38 (2 bruised) Myrmidon: 37 (Unharmed, 3 HP) Tsunami: 28 (Unharmed, fatigued, 2 HP) FoS group 2 (swords): 25 (2 active) Bloody Mess: 24 (3 bruised, dazed, 5 HP) FoS group 6 (swords): 23 (3 active) FoS group 5 (staves): 22 (1 active) Fang Leader: 21 (bruised) FoS group 3 (staves): 10 (1 active) FoS group 4 (swords): 7 (4 active) The sorcerer will try to use his TK/move object to grab Tsunami, getting a Natural 20 on his attack roll! Grapple check is 25 +5 for the critical hit for a 30. Tsunami gets a 26, not quite good enough (though would have been but for the critical success on the attack roll!)
-
Well, you do have 5 HP at the moment if you wanted to reroll or shake off the daze.

GM As Bloody Mess' intended target dodge out of the way of the private investigator's powerful uppercut, he barked some order in Chinese. The three sword wielding martial artists that had been gathering around turned and ran across the rooftop towards the armored figure that had appeared out of the shadows that were everywhere on the rooftop now and was fighting two of their companions. This left Golden man facing Mess alone. Regaining their bearings after being struck by one of Giang's water blasts, the last two remaining men armed with staves moved in to attack the Asian teen. As had been their usual tactic, the first led with an attack calculated to make the teenager an easier target for the second. As the first martial artist continued past Giang, the second arrived, aiming a strike at her exposed back. But Giang managed to quickly twist to face the man, her right leg swinging up in an outward crescent kick that she used to deflect the attack. As Bloody Mess tried to recover from his missed attack, the golden armored martial artist sprung into action. The man launched a quick series of front kicks with his left foot, which Mess was able to block easily enough, but before his left foot even came back down, he launched himself into the air off his right foot, driving his right knee into the side of the private investigator's head. The force of the blow sent the thick pugilist stumbling backward a few steps before he dropped to one knee, spots flashing before his eyes.

The last member of Group 5 tries to aid other action against Giang for the last guy in Group 3, getting a 26, succeeds (not the best use of a 20). The last guy in Group 3 attacks Giang, getting a: 21, which is not quite good enough thanks to her defensive attack. The Fang leader attacks Mess, getting a 21, which just hits, another DC 21 toughness save for Mess.

Yeah, with his skill mastery, he easily is able to avoid being fooled. Go ahead and make the IC post missing spectacularly!

Velocity was relieved to find all the members of the team, at least alive, if not unhurt. The speedster keyed her communicator to transmit to her fellow team members as well as the George Washington. "This is Velocity, I am with the team now, all nine members accounted for. Two have injuries that require they receive assistance to move." She then looked at the lead scientist with a bit of a frown as he came forward and made some rather cryptic remarks about what they had discovered. "That doesn't sound too good. But do you mean the island itself is somehow going 'mad'? Or the creatures on the island?"
-
Velocity frowned slightly as she looked around the lab and Fenris indicated that the equipment there had not really been picking up much from the stopwatch before. When the armored hero mentioned the inspector, Doctor Lind, the speedster shrugged. "I will defer to you and the Baron when it comes to the science, not really my strong point. Though, given what I saw when I got in here, if we're lucky, that watch might be kicking off a lot more of..some kind of energy that can be tracked right now." "I do not think that Ro…Harrow is quite in his right mind at the moment, and that the stopwatch has a lot to do with that." As Fenris started walking towards the door, the speedster hesitated. "Sitting around waiting is not something I am particularly good at I am afraid. I have a couple of ideas where Harrow might have gone, so I might got check those while you and the Baron and this Doctor Lind try to rig something up. Do you have a means that we can stay in communication even if I am out on European mainland?"

Okay, sorry for letting this sit for so long, but as no one has posted, I am moving us forward. Here are how the two teams will be organized: Group one (north bank): Dr. Conte, Nurse Cofield, Lais Tambe, Steve Wilker, and 2 security members. Group two (south bank): Denise Gorrell, Dr. Rangan, Nurse Myers, Lt. Lidimo, Danimir Kvesic, and 1 security member. With six PCs (counting Tsunami), that is three to a team. I will let people choose where they want to be (first come first serve!) and I will place Tsunami as needed. If your characters had any specific questions, you can ask them there, or in the IC thread.

GM As the various groups set about their tasks, the amount of work that generally needed to be done served to cut down on the opportunity for much conversation. Because of Jubatus' speed, his group finished their tasks far more quickly than the others. While Steven and Lt. Lidimo went to assist the other groups, the humanoid Cheetah and John both opted to use the available time to get a bit familiar with the area around the base camp. The airstrip and camp were located on a wide plateau, with the only nearby major elevation change starting about a kilometer to the north, where the terrain began to drop down towards the Messalo River for two kilometers. The terrain was mainly savannah, with scattered clumps of acacia (thorntrees) and palms. Jubatus found a pair of small streams to the north and northwest, carrying runoff down to the river. The speedster also noted that the western edge of the camp was near what appeared be the hunting territory of a lion pride. Just as the unpacking and organizing was completed, the next cargo transport arrived, kicking up a tremendous amount of dust as it landed on the dirt runway. The unloading of all the food and water supplies for those affected by the flooding was relatively quick thanks to Edge's telekinesis, allowing the transport to depart once unloaded. Storing the unloaded supplies into the tents that had been set up went relatively quickly, and the cargo areas of the two HUMVEES were also loaded up with food and water supplies. Once the work was done, the group all gathered near the HUMVEES as they prepared to start visiting the affected areas and assessing the situation. Dr. Conte and Denise Gorrell, the senior engineer, both spoke during the meeting. "The areas directly affected by the flooding stretch for more than 65 kilomters along the Messalo," Gorrell explained to the group as they examined a map that was set out on the hood of one of the HUMVEES. "There are approximately 20,000 people living in villages and small towns along both banks of the river in that area, all of whom are likely directly impacted. Those are going to be the main priority of our relief efforts for the near term. Depending on how much damage the agriculture in the area has suffered, up to another 40-50,000 in the region could be affected as well. Part of our visits this afternoon and early evening will be to assess the damage and work that needs to be done at the various sites. We will also be distributing food and water to those that need it. We will be splitting into two teams, one to assess the northern bank, the other for the southern." "In addition, the medical teams will be evaluating the health needs of those in the area." Dr. Conte added. "If there are any injuries requiring immediate treatment, we will likely be transporting them back to the base camp. I am sure many of you understand this, but I will remind you all, over the next couple of days it is very likely we will be coming across the bodies of those killed in the flooding. Everyone needs to be very careful about any potential contact with blood or other fluids from anyone we come into contact with. The HIV/AIDS infection rate is about eleven and half percent in those aged fifteen to forty-nine, which is actually lower than the average in a number of neighboring countries." After answering any specific questions, the group was split into two teams, Dr. Conte leading one, and Gorrell the other. In addition to the two HUMVEES (one for each team), DI had provided the expedition with five Land Rover Defender SUVs. Four of those would be used to transport the two assessment teams and medical supplies (two for each team), the fifth remaining at base camp, along with Colette and two of the security personnel. As the groups were getting organized to depart, Gorrell came over to Jubatus. "I am sorry I have not had the chance to talk to you about this sooner, but I wanted to mention one of the specific ways that your expertise will be helpful in the next couple of days. One of DI's long term projects in this area is two schools that they have set up, one on each bank of the river, that are in the affected area. Both have a variety of technology to help expand the educational options for the students they serve. We need you're assistance to assess what is damaged and in need of replacement, as well as to consider ways to improve what we currently have and how to protect it from any future flooding or the like."

GM As the now armored Myrmidon emerges from the shadows, he easily puts down both of the swordsmen that had rushed him with his powerful attacks. Scanning the area around him, his own enhanced sense of sight, along with the dark vision of the LACUNA, allowed him to spot the sorcerer. The man had teleported himself up onto a nearby three story building across a street from the rooftops where the melee was currently taking place. The clone barely had time to consider the new information when the other two swordsmen closed in for the attack. The first manages to land a hit on the armored hero, but the LACUNA armor deflects the two swords harmlessly away. The second swordsman misses Myrmidon altogether. Both men maneuvered away from the armored clone, bracing themselves for a potential counterattack.

The remaining two members of FoS group 2 attack Myr. Well, I used the wrong attack bonus, to these rolls should be 1 higher than they are, so one hits (15) and the other misses. But, the hit slides harmlessly off Myr's Impervious toughness. Bloody Mess is up.

Giang twirled the staff she had picked up a moment as she shifted into a defensive stance and took a moment to glance around her at the staff wielding martial artists that had gathered around her in two loose rings. Smiling slightly, the Asian teen dropped the staff as she brought her hands out in front of her and then swept them out to either side, turning ninety degrees and crouching slightly as she did. As Giang's hands swept around her, quick bursts of water shot forth at various intervals, one for each of the eleven men gathered around her. The eleven jets of water twisted through the night air, each striking its intended target. When the torrent of water was over, only two of the armored martial artists were still on their feet, seemingly unharmed. The other nine were strewn across the rooftops unconscious. Shifting into a back stance, Giang brought her hands up in a defensive posture as she waited for any counter attack from the two that had withstood her onslaught.

Tsunami is going to stunt: Blast 8 (Extra: Targeted Burst Area (50’ radius), Selective; Flaw: 0 Range; Feats: Accurate 2) {26/26PP} She will Power Attack: -2 atk/+2 dam and Defensive Attack: -3 atk/+3 def, taking 10 to hit the guys with staves gathered around her. DC 25 toughness saves. The 11 martial artists make toughness saves, and 2 actually make it and suffer no harm. The rest are out. Semi, did you want to use Myr’s move action this round to make your notice check to look for the sorcerer?
