  1. Okay, John's action will move us on to... Round Three: Grey Suit: 38 (unharmed) Myrmidon: 37 (Unharmed, 4 HP) Tsunami: 28 (Unharmed, 2 HP) FoS group 2 (swords): 25 (4 active) Bloody Mess: 24 (bruised, 4 HP) FoS group 6 (swords): 23 (3 active) FoS group 5 (staves): 22 (4 active) Fang Leader: 21 (Unharmed) Hound: 16 (Unharmed) FoS group 2 (staves): 10 (4 active) FoS group 1 (staves): 8 (4 active) FoS group 4 (swords): 7 (4 active) It is now back to Myr's action.
  2. Okay, you can go ahead with posting that IC
  3. Yesterday after talking with Merge, the Velocity had gone back into work and been a bit more productive than usual, making it easier for her to arrange to work from home today. She had spent a bit of time this morning getting everything she needed to have done finished, having already sent some of it in, with the rest ready to be sent throughout the day. With that taken care of, she had gotten into costume and recently arrived on the rooftop of a nearby building with a view of the front of Onika Studio. From there she was using her goggles magnification to keep an eye on the crowd and look for Merge Trois and Asad to arrive so she could assist them. Overall, the speedster did not like the look of the crowd below, as it looked like it could easily get out of hand.
  4. Okay, the group of swords men that had been engaging Myr no longer have a target, and they are not doing anything particularly relevant right now. So, Bloody Mess is up.
  5. Giang listened to the exchange, or the translations of it, with a slight feeling of irritation, while doing her best to keep her outward expression composed. Thus far they were not finding much in the way of allies, though given the apparent mistrust and hatred that existed between the principal power groups in this world, likely having existed for hundreds of years, she knew it should likely be of little surprise. As John started to lead them away from the meeting with the city's senators, Subito stepped forward to address the first citizen and the gathered senators. The Asian teen's gaze fell over those that had been addressed as the "Brothers of Apollo," and in particular the golden haired young man that was among them. Shifting slightly so she was near John, Giang spoke in a low voice. "One of those speaking out against us is the Serpent Person we saw yesterday tmeeting with those we followed. It is likely some of the others are Serpent People agents as well."
  6. As John scooped her up off the ground, Giang wrapped her arms around him to better secure herself and allow him to be somewhat less concerned about her as he began bounding off several parts of the nearby building to get them up on to the roof. Unlike the earlier unusual feeling of riding on the motorcycle, the Asian teen was perfectly used to acrobatics such as this, remaining relaxed, slightly shifting her weight at the appropriate times to aid John in his maneuvers. Landing lightly on her feet as John released her, Giang looked back at him a brief moment as he pointed off in the direction of where he had parked the motorcycle. "I am sorry you had to become involved in this." She stated before she started off across the rooftop in the direction indicated.
  7. "No, I do not suppose you do." Megan responded in agreement to Amir's last comment about how he was not really going around trying to change the behaviors of other superheroes. The young woman was then rather quiet for the short time it took for their soup to arrive, taking several sips of her tea in the silence that had followed. After swallowing the first bite of her egg flower soup, the young blonde spoke up once more. "So Mr. Al-Misri, have you added any new cars to the collection at your private track recently?"
  8. GM The other eight armored martial artists armed with staves spread out around the main melee, trying to cut off possible means of escape while being ready to assist if needed. Four of the men armed with butterfly swords moved over towards their leader, fanning out to either side of him to surround Bloody Mess in a half circle that was closed off by the wall of a building. The streets and sidewalks had not almost completely cleared of bystanders, the conjured snake having frightened everyone away. The ghostly snake dissipated like golden smoke in the night breeze, as the grey suited man looked out into the intersection where Giang and John were facing off with several of the armored martial artists. Pulling his left hand back towards his chest a moment, his fingers clutched together, the man made a silent incantation before sweeping his hand forward, his fingers opening. A burst of golden energy shot from his hand, taking the shape of a serpent as it twisted through the air towards Giang. Though she saw it coming, the Asian teen was unable to dodge the mystical blast, which struck her squarely in the chest. Giang felt a numb where the golden serpent had struck her, a feeling that was starting to spread. But the teen clenched her jaw, as she steeled herself against the spreading numbness, managing to halt its progress.
  9. On to, Round Two: Grey Suit: 38 (unharmed) Myrmidon: 37 (Unharmed, 4 HP) Tsunami: 28 (Unharmed, 3 HP) FoS group 2 (swords): 25 (4 active) Bloody Mess: 24 (bruised, 4 HP) FoS group 6 (swords): 23 (3 active) FoS group 5 (staves): 22 (4 active) Fang Leader: 21 (Unharmed) Hound: 16 (Unharmed) FoS group 2 (staves): 10 (4 active) FoS group 1 (staves): 8 (4 active) FoS group 4 (swords): 7 (4 active) The man in the grey suit sends a Stun attack against Tsunami, getting a 27 on his attack roll. Tsunami’s first Fort save is a 10, so using a hero point to reroll, getting a 17, which is bumped to 27, so she resists the stun.
  10. GM As the fight began in earnest, several of the armored martial artists moved to position themselves around the melee, looking to try to cut off escape routes or to move to assist those that were attacking. Another four of the armored martial artists moved forward towards Giang, this group armed with staves. As the group that had attacked John had, this group came in pairs as well. The first swung his staff, not intending to hit, but to position the Asian teen for the follow up. Giang dodged aside as intended, but when the next staff wielder arrived, she knocked his attack aside with the flat of her left foot. Both men continued moving, trying their best to maneuver so they were not near those that had attacked John. The second pair followed close behind, the lead once again feinting to set up for the second. This time, the attacker aimed a well placed strike towards Giang, but at the last moment the Asian teen brought both arms in close to her torso, her forearms blocking the staff and the thin layer of shimmering water around them absorbing the impact. Both men danced away from Giang, positing themselves a short distance away as they waited for any counter attack. After ducking under the sudden charge from Bloody Mess, the armored leader of the martial artists stood back upright as he quickly considered the potential targets. Turning slightly to one side, he took a couple of steps forward and leapt into the air towards where Bloody Mess was lying. As he came down, he aimed one knee at the short private eye's chest. The reinforced armor on the knee drove down into Mess' chest as the armored figure came down on top of him full force. The figure then stood smoothly back upright and executed a back handspring to put a bit of space between him and the pugilist.
  11. FoS group 5 moves in to attack Tsunami. As with Myr, two are using aid other action, other two are attackers. Aid other pair get a 21 and 10, so they will each provide +3 to the next two. Attackers get a 14 and 26. So the second hits. DC 19 toughness save and Tsunami gets a 21, so she is fine. The leader is going to power attack Bloody Mess, -5 atk, +5 dam. His attack roll is a 27. So, with Mess’ immunity, that is a DC 21 toughness save.
  12. Velocity might be able to, with a power stunt alt power on her array.
  13. Unfortunately, that just misses the armored leader.
  14. Velocity handles that no problem with a 29 for her Fort save
  15. GM As John landed after his attack, four of the armored men wielding butterfly swords moved into action. Two rushed towards the clone soldier, one to the right, one to the left. The one on the right arrived first, slashing at John with his matched swords, but not with an intention of hitting him, but instead setting him up for the one following close behind. Once his feint was made, the armored figure continued on, moving out to the side a short distance. Though the initial pass worked as intended, the second figure tried to put a bit more force behind his attacks, and as a result, his swords just whistled past John, despite the clone's earlier aggressive attack leaving him somewhat less able to dodge. As his attack missed, the armored figure also continued off towards the other side of the clone soldier. A second pair followed after the first, following a similar tactic of attempting to set up John for a follow up attack. Once again, the initial set up worked as planned, but the follow up attack was ill timed, and easily missed John. As with the first pair, the second also continued moving after their attack, falling back a short distance from John but still facing him.
  16. FoS group 2 moves towards Myr. The first two make aid other actions, getting a 19 and 21 and providing a +3 each to the other two members of the group. The next two come in to power attack, -2 atk (down to +7 after aid other), +2 dam. They get a: 14 and 9, lol, so much for great teamwork. Bloody Mess is up after my IC post.
  17. Giang watched as the ghostly snake rose up over the street intersection, feeling an unnatural feeling of terror reach out towards her. But the Asian teen gritted her teeth, determined not to succumb to the feeling. As she was able to resist the feelings of fear as it washed over her, she noted John leap into the fray, landing a blow on the unarmed armored figure behind her, but not appearing to have little effect. As he landed behind her, taking a position to guard her back, she nodded as he mentioned focusing on surviving before any explanation. Giang felt a pang of guilt and regret for having led him into this. She realized she should have expected her father's agents would look for her in places like this, those connected with her past and culture. She had allowed herself to believe she was safe here, and now she had placed someone else in danger because of that. Focusing on the ring of armored men around them, Giang took a step forward as she brought her hands together in front of her, palms outward as a blast of water shot forth. The twisting jets of water streaked across the intersection, slamming into the chest of one of the men wielding butterfly swords. The powerful jet of water knocked him off his feet, sending him flying backward fifteen feet until he slammed into the side of a building and feel to the sidewalk unconscious. Giang stepped back closer to John once more, taking a crane stance as her hands went out to her sides and she took a defensive posture, ready for the attack that was sure to come.
  18. Well, in Giang's defense, the other attackers had not quite reveled themselves when she started moving. And, she was going to end up in the middle of them anyway, just the how was always an open question. So, her action, she uses defensive attack -5 atk, +5 defense (for +15), blasts at one of the men with swords, taking 10 to hit him. He only gets a 10 vs DC 25 toughness save and is out.
  19. What are those winter storms doing in Spring? (hehe) Anyway, sorry if my description mislead you. So, the big armor guy actual is not fooled, getting a 32 on his Sense Motive check. But, you hit him anyway with that reroll. And he gets another really lucky roll with a 30 on his toughness check.
  20. Ahh, I did miss it (was kinda suprised there wasn't one, but then, I was wrong ) Semi, I would save the Hero Point. Takedown Attack 2 still does not let you move more than 5' between each attack (though you can take as many 5' moves as you can up to your movement speed). However, these guys are much more spaced out than that (they have formed a big circle around the intersection. Currently, there are a couple of pairs that are within 5' of each other (ones that were in the lion suits together), but none of those pairs are that close to each other.
  21. Okay, the grey suited man has unleashed an area effect Emotion Control: Fear effect. Everyone needs to make a DC 20 Reflex save. If successful, they avoid the effect altogether. If not, then it is a DC 20 Will save against the fear effect (Myr of course can use Second Chance: Emotion Effects, if needed). Mess is Fearless, so no need for any saves for him. Tsunami gets a 17 for her Reflex save, so she makes her Will save and gets a 27, so she is fine. After his save(s), Myr is up.
  22. GM As Giang moved away and the armored men that had been wearing the lion and musician costumes reveled themselves, a slightly disappointed look came to the face of the man in the grey suit, quickly followed by steely look of determination. With a swirl of white smoke, the man vanished from where he had initially confronted Giang, reappearing in another swirl of white smoke across the intersection, just outside the circle of armored men and in the direction Giang had started to move towards. <"Fangs, remember, only minimal force to subdue our master's daughter!"> He yelled out in Mandarin. <"No such restriction for anyone that interferers!"> The man then made a few hand movements as he seemed to be chanting something. As he finished, a ghostly golden fog began to billow around him, swirling up into the air until it took the shape of a massive serpent that raised up in preparation of striking. The members of the crowd that had previously been hesitant and uncertain after John's distraction were now no longer hesitant, as many screamed at the sight and turned to prepare to flee in terror. Those that had already been trying to seek safety now began to speed up in panic.
  23. The guy in the grey suit is seizing initiative, so all the heroes get a hero point. Round One: Grey suit: 38 (unharmed) Myrmidon: 37 (Unharmed, 6 HP) Tsunami: 28 (Unharmed, 3 HP) FoS group 2 (swords): 25 (4 active) Bloody Mess: 24 (Unharmed, 4 HP) Fangs group 6 (swords): 23 (4 active) Fangs group 5 (staves): 22 (4 active) Fang leader: 21 (unharmed) Hound: 16 (Unharmed) Fangs group 3 (staves): 10 (4 active) Fangs group 1 (staves): 8 (4 active) Fangs group 4 (swords): 7 (4 active)
  24. Aaaand the trap is now sprung. Mess and Myr are going to be getting a hero point for being dragged into Tsunami’s complication re: her father. As well as another for being somewhat fiated into this situation (though Myr’s distraction did change how it unfolded somewhat). Just so it is clear, there are 25 of the guys in the golden snake armor, 12 with staves, 12 with butterfly swords (those 24 are all minions), then the leader, who doesn’t have a hand held weapon. And then of course there is the guy in the grey suit. I will be getting the initiatives up tomorrow sometime (handling the minions in groups of 4).
  25. GM The people right near John and Giang had just been noticing the shimmering sheen of water that had formed around the Asian teen when John yelled out about the men across the way having guns. The reaction was about what one would expect, the crowd right around the pair and the Asian man in the grey suit began to cry out in panic and start to trying to move away from the perceived threat. All around the intersection, other members of the crowd had similar reaction, as the beat of the drums came to a halt and the Lion Dancers all stopped as well. Over where Harry and Freddy had been pushing their way through the edges of the crowd to get over towards the two teenagers, the people near them quickly began to drawback, pushing against those behind them as they tried to get away from the two men who suddenly found themselves with a lot more room to maneuver. Seeing John mouth the word 'run', Giang turned and when the only direction that was really open to her given the man in the grey suit and the approach of the two men across the way, she ran out into the intersection, heading in a direction that generally led away from both potential threats. But as she reached the middle of the intersection, the Asian teen suddenly realized she had gone in the worst possible direction. Spread out around her in the intersection, the various Lion Dancers had tossed aside their lion costumes, reveling men dressed in scarlet martial arts uniforms over which they wore gold colored armor and mask that generally resembled a snake. The musicians, having also pulled off their masks and yellow costumes, were also similarly dressed in the scarlet uniforms and golden snake styled armor. About half the men were armed with bo staffs, which had been hidden inside the lion costumes or near their instruments. The other half each wielded a pair of butterfly swords. However there was one armored figure that was among the "musicians" who was not brandishing any hand held weapon. His golden armor was a bit more ornate than the others, and covered more of his body. It was also reinforced around his elbows, knees, knuckles and feet, providing built in weapons that could be employed with a wide variety of attacks. The armored men had completely encircled Giang, though several were facing outward, towards John or Harry and Freddy, as well as looking for any other external threat.
