Giang gave a small nod. "This is a time when many struggle with fully understanding themselves and determining their identities. It just seems that a number of us here at this school have an added layer of complexity to those problems." She then regarded him closely for a moment herself as he mentioned going back to the "woods." "Do you really? Such a choice of action, while likely a simple solution for the difficulties you have been dealing with, also seems much like..quitting." "You do not strike me as someone who easily quits something he sets out to do."

Velocity felt sinking feeling in her stomach as Robert spoke, apparently having gained some way of knowing she was Velocity, as the older Robert had hinted the stopwatch allowed. "Robert…I was the one who messed things up. You had every reason to end our relationship." She replied, trying to get through to him. "This stopwatch is dangerous, you need to…" But then she was dodging some..time distortion that stopwatch had sent out at her, either on its own or at Robert's command, though Velocity could not quite tell which. What she heard in his voice as he mentioned being pulled to her both tugged at feelings she thought she had gotten past and made her afraid of what the stopwatch might be doing to Robert at the same time. Briefly noting that the Baron had called his lab techs out of the room and then left himself, the speedster kept her gaze focused on Robert. Whether he was doing all this of his own will, or something was controlling him, she did not have much choice right now as she needed to get the stopwatch away from him. "I…I'm sorry Robert, I don't want to hurt you, I never wanted to hurt you, but you leave me no choice." With that, she sped over near him, her right hand shooting out at hypersonic speeds. A loud *CRACK* echoed in the room, as her hand broke the sound barrier, but her attack missed the blurring figure of her former lover by a good bit. The speedster had already moved past him, coming to a halt behind him on the other side of the room, a feeling of doubt making her wonder if she could really allow herself to strike him.

Tsunami dodged aside as the bolt of electricity streaked through the air at her. She was still a bit tired from forcing the water way from the propellers of the ship, all for naught now of course, but she was still quick enough to avoid the armored villain's attack. Moving easily across the wet deck, her feet hardly leaving a ripple in the water pooled there as she seemed to skim across its surface, the Asian teen put a bit of distance between her and Devil Ray as she responded to his question. "I believe I just told you, but right now I am stopping you." Her hands came up in front of her once more and another blast of water shot forth. This time the twisting jets of water slammed squarely into the armored mercenary's torso. But despite the power behind the attack, he somehow was able to withstand it with seemingly no effect. Or maybe not The teen though, as she wondered where Crimson Tiger was.

Velocity doesn't want to, but she is going to try to punch Robert. She is using Defensive Attack -3 atk/+3 Def (total defense is +18 right now). She gets a 19. I don't think her heart was in it.
-
Tsunami is continuing to Defensive Attack, -2 atk/+2 def. Due to her fatigue, she is at +7 atk/+11 def. Her attack roll on Devil Ray is a 27, with a natural 20 for a critical hit. That is a DC 30 toughness save for Devil Ray (and, if applicable, it is a +17 attack for purposes of knockback!)
-
For her standard action, Velocity will take the Total Defense action, bumping her Defense up to +19.
-
So, initiative roll for Velocity...she gets a 59.
-
That's a hit, his toughness save is a 9, so he is out. Post away.

GM The Zoom using gang member Siphon had just swung at returned the favor with blinding speed, swinging the sub-machinegun in his hand at the superhero, managing to land a hit, but only a glancing one that Siphon was able to shake off. The gang member then pulled ahead of Siphon in the high speed chase as it continued down the street, taking a sharp left turn at an intersection ahead to continue after the gang leader and Velocity, who were still neck and neck a good ways ahead. As that gang member pulled ahead, the one running behind Siphon opened fire with his sub-machinegun. But once again, the bullets harmlessly ricocheted off the pavement to one side of the hero. Up ahead, after veering away from the yellow clad speedster's attack, the gang leader extended his right hand, firing another blast of dark energy at the heroine. However, this one came nowhere near hitting Velocity, passing harmlessly behind her before blasting out a window of a parked car. Further back, the other motorcycle riding gang members continued to try to keep up, with only one making much headway in closing the distance towards where Siphon was running with the two Zoom using gang members.

Okay, go ahead with your attack roll on ZDF 2.
-
ZDF 3 tries to his Siphon with his SMG before pulling ahead of him, getting a: 21 for a hit. DC 18 toughness save for Siphon. ZDF 2 will then shot at Siphon once ZDF 3 is clear, getting a: 15, which is a miss. The gang leader fires a blast of dark energy at Velocity, getting a: 16, nowhere near good enough.
-
Velocity easily stayed alongside the gang leader on his motorcycle, and just as she was starting to outpace the Zoom using gang member beside her, the yellow clad speedster's right hand shoot out towards him. Another *CRACK* echoed down the street as her fist connected solidly with the side of the gang member’s jaw, sending him flying into a parked car. He clipped the top of the car, the momentum causing him to roll across the top until he fell onto the sidewalk on the other side, unconscious. The young woman then slipped back alongside the gang leader, her left hand swinging out towards him. But even as another *CRACK* sounded, the young man had veered his motorcycle away, and the attack went wide.

(tentative for Round 3) Gang Leader/ Velocity (7 lengths) ZDF 3 (3 lengths) ZDF 2/Siphon (1 length) DF 4 (9 lengths) DF 5 (6 lengths) DF 3 As you can see, Siphon is going to be stuck between two of the Zoom users, so he might just want to fall back and deal with ZDF 2.
-
Round Three: Velocity: 60 (Fatigued, 3 HP) Zoom Dark Fist 3: 37 Zoom Dark Fist 2: 36 Zoom Dark Fist 4: 27 Dark Fist 5: 23 Ye Quan: 18 (bruised) Dark Fist 3: 18 Dark Fist 1: 10 Siphon: 9 (3 HP) Dark Fist 4: 7 Chase rolls: Velocity keeps it interesting with a 27, though, still enough to beat everyone else in the chase. Zoom Dark Fist: 3, 8, 6 Dark Fist: 7, 13, 12 Gang Leader: 11 (already have your chase roll of 7 you made previously) Velocity will use her new hero point to remove her fatigue and keeps with the Def Attack, -3 atk/+3 def (giving her +10 atk, and +18 Def), she first attacks ZDF 4 (before he falls back from her), a 15, just good enough to hit. DC 28 toughness save, he gets a: 12, so he is out. Velocity uses Takedown Attack 2, to make an attack on the gang leader, she gets a 18, not good enough to hit him.

Yeah, he does not do well on his intemidate check to counter, only getting a 7. Go ahead and edit your post and I'll will respond (as well as have the cat-man react to Jube's attack)

Megan gave Silver Spider a wide smile. "I've gotten a bit used to having to change wherever I could over the years." She replied. "Be careful, I'll be down in just a few moments." As Silver Spider jumped over the edge and down towards the two super-mercenaries, the blonde young woman became a blur of movement, rushing to one shadowy corner of the rooftop and by the time she came to a stop, was wearing her Velocity costume. Stowing her bag with her clothes behind an air vent, she was then off down another side of the building, quickly looping around several blocks in a blur of yellow, coming back at the front of the restaurant from another direction.

CC, sorry I was not a bit more clear. The gang member in the duct tape is not completely helpless, and in fact, still has his pistol in his hand and can use it. (he was only entangled). So, you will probably want to change how you approach him. If you would like to try to make an intimidate roll to get him to give up and talk, go ahead and make one, I'll give you a +5 circumstance bonus to the check.

"Sure, hypersonic and high hypersonic speeds are not a problem either." Velocity replied to Gabriel's mention of the other possibility for trying not to needlessly disturb the local wildlife. The speedster then gave a small smile at Comrade Frost’s comment about her legs, accompanied by a grandfatherly wink. "Sadly, I don't think there will be any pina coladas on these beaches." As Dr. Sato provided the rough location where the team had last reported in from and Captain Tremont mentioned having a SEAL team ready to extract the science team if needed, the young woman gave a small nod. "Okay, looks like I know where I am going to start my search." Glancing over to Gaian Knight, Fleur de Joie, and Tiamat, she added, "I think the three of you have the trickier assignment. Good luck." Moments later, Velocity was up on the carrier's flight deck, looking out over the water at the approaching shape of Kaiju Island as the others made their way up as well. "Okay, see you ashore." She stated to the others over the comm. before she was off in a blur, speeding down the side of the carrier and the out over the water as she accelerated to hypersonic speeds and made her way towards Cracktooth Bay.

For Velocity, taking 20 on some notice checks as she zips around will yield a 29 for the checks.

"No, I was not aware of that." Velocity replied as Merge mentioned that Asad had a previous history with Madame Marvelous. As Merge began to fade away and thanked her for giving herself a chance to talk, the speedster called out. "I will be there tomorrow morning. And please don't give me a reason to regret letting you go today." Velocity was then off herself, speeding away before looping back towards the building and vibrating through a wall down to the archives to change back into being just Megan Howell the intern. She was feeling a bit more worried about Amir now, given the information that he had some past relationship with Madame Marvelous.

Okay, so, Myr is not exactly suprised (but also was not exactly sure what was going on until Giang gave her warning), and neither are Harry and Freddy. While we are not in combat time (yet ), initial reactions to all of this should not be too long.
-
Velocity listened to Merge, given a small grin as the former villain mentioned tending to improvise. "I can certainly identify with that. Usually I just run in and see what's going on. But then, in the time it takes most people to just glance around a room, I can get a good look at everything and everyone in the room, decide how big a threat they are (or aren't), consider multiple ways to deal with each of them, think about what dress I will want to wear when I go clubbing later in the week, convince myself that I should not ask out that hot guy from the gym (for as hot as he is, he is waaaay to much one of my lamer ex-boyfriends), and think about a couple of dozen other things as well." "But away," she gave a dismissive wave of her own, "that sounds a lot like a plan, and not necessarily a bad one." "I more meant when and where were you and Asad planning to meet tomorrow. That is, assuming he agreed to help."

While Giang had initially been enjoying the Lion Dance performance, it had not taken long for her to realize that something was odd. There were far more "lions" in the performance than would normally be the case. As she began to study the scene before her closer, trying to discern some reason that this many different ones would be used together, she heard a voice behind her use the name she had chosen to reject when she had fled her true father's house in Hong Kong. The Asian teen felt her blood run cold, as she tensed somewhat and slowly turned around to face the man who had spoke to her. She did not recognize him, but that was not necessarily a surprise as he bowed to her and spoke in Mandarin about taking her back to her father. "John, we are in trouble." She stated, as she took a half step backward, as a shimmering sheen of water began to form around her.

GM John was generally a very observant individual, but the current environment was filled with distractions: the crowds, the performs out in the intersection, the loud music and the firecrackers going off elsewhere. As such, he almost did not notice an Asian man in his mid to late-thirties that had appeared behind him and Giang. This was partially because there were Asians and Asian-Americans all around them. But this man did stand out a bit, as he was considerably better dressed than most of the festival goers, wearing a medium grey suit with a golden colored tie. However, it was more that as he had gotten closer, John also realized that the man's gaze was fixed on Giang. But at the moment John realized this, the man had stopped, and spoke in an even voice that was somehow audible over the music accompanying the Lion Dance. "Xian Lou Khan." Beside him, Giang tensed, and turned slowly to look at the man, who gave her a small bow. <"Your esteemed father wishes for your return. I am here to see that you do. Please do not create a scene by attempting to resist."> He stated in Mandarin. *** Managing to maneuver themselves to the front of the part of the crowd nearest them, Harry and Freddy began scanning the crowds around the Lion Dance performance, looking for a sign of the teenage girl and her companion. All the noise and commotion from the Lion Dancers, not to mention the large number of people, made the process more difficult, as the two private investigators took their time looking at different sections of the crowd before moving on to the next. Harry was the one to spot her and her companion first. They were on the opposite side of the intersection from he and Freddy, with all the Lion Dance performers directly between them in the middle of the intersection. The girl had just turned around to face an Asian man in his mid to late-thirties who was wearing a medium grey suit with a golden colored tie. The man seemed to be speaking to her, but Harry could not hear anything over all the racket around him.

Everything is pretty calm at the scene of the fight. There is still that one gang member who is struggling against the duct tape. Given time, he might get free. Also, there are at least two gang members who are bleeding out.
