  1. Okay, for her action, Tsunami will switch back to her blast power and make a Defensive Attack (-2 atk/+2 Defense (making it +12). Her attack roll is a 16. Probably not good enough.
  2. GM The Deep Ones in the mesh net Warp was carrying were trying to claw their way free as she stepped through her portal. On the other side she found the room for the Deep Ones' exhibit filled with several aquarium staff members, who were gathering the Deep Ones still there, picking them up carefully. There were also a number of police officers in the room, several securing the three mercenaries Warp had knocked out earlier, but there were a few gathered around her portal, watching to see what came out of it. But, they did not have their guns drawn, though their hands were near them, just in case. They relaxed visible when they saw the teenage girl appear. A pair of staff members who had also appeared to have been waiting to see what stepped through the portal moved forward. "Thank heavens, you were able to rescue them. Did you manage to get the..." He stopped in midsentence as Tsunami stepped through, her globe of water following with her. The Asian teen gently released the water in the globe onto the floor, freeing all the Deep Ones that had been swimming around inside it or were still trapped in the mesh nets.
  3. Going to give everyone a chance for an IC response to Edge's welcome, then I will make a GM post Also, Rav, the airstrip is dirt, not blacktop
  4. Okay, time for some Reflex saves to avoid the Snare: Red Lions: Area effect save: 23, 11, 15 so RL 1 & 3 both take half effect, so only DC 12 reflex save to avoid the effect of the Snare, RL 2 has the standard DC 15. Snare Effect save: 16, 14, 11. Cartel members: Save 1: 6, 5, 4, 7, so full DC 15 save for second. Save 2: 5, 20, 3, 21, sigh, figures they do well now. Gang Members: Save 1: 18, 5, so DC 12 for one and DC 15 for other. Save 2: 20, 14 Engangled: Red Lion 2 Red Lion 3 Gang Member 5 Bound & Helpless: Cartel 1 Cartel 3 Avoided Snare: Red Lion 1 Cartel 2 Cartel 4 Gang Member 2 Okay, go ahead and post the results of your action Cubist!
  5. Round Four: Jubatus: 42 (unharmed, 1 HP) Neospell: 24 (unharmed, 2 HP) Red Lion 1: 22 Gang Member 2: 21 Cartel 1: 20 (2 bruised, 2 injured) Cartel 2: 19 (bruised, injured) Red Lion 3: 18 (staggered) Cartel 4: 18 Red Lion 2: 13 Gang Member 5: 11 Cartel 3: 2 (another of the gang members went down last round, Jubatus is up!)
  6. While the sudden appearance of Jubatus was something of a shock to the various combatants, it was quickly obvious they were not yet ready to listen to reason and stand down. One of the cat-men prepared to continue attacking the man he had previously injured, and Neospell tried to stop him with a blast that flew far wide of the target. The cat-man once again slashed with his claws, but this time the man managed to pull back just enough that the scratches were mainly superficial. The rest of the combatants continued fighting as well, the various gang members and other men continuing to shoot at the cat-men or Neospell as they had before. One of the men in melee with the cat-men managed to land a blow with his pistol, but the cat-man seemed unaffected by the attack. Similarly, the cat-man who had already viciously put down two gang members shrugged off a gunshot from one of the standing gang members. The cat-man Neospell had blasted previously climbed back to his feet, but appeared unable to do much more at the moment. The cat-man fighting the gang members moved up to another one, and dropped him to the ground with another claw attack, though this time not quite as vicious as the two he had landed on the prior gang members.
  7. GM Messalo River Valley Highlands, 3 km south of the Messalo River Elevation: 230 meters Mark Lucas, better known as Edge when he was in costume as he was now, had been on site for about four hours already, arriving in time to meet members of the Danger International disaster relief team that were coming from India and Europe. The location Danger International had selected to base its relief efforts from was an old, dirt runway in the lower highlands of the Messalo River Valley. The airstrip had seen a variety of uses over the years. During Mozambique's fifteen year civil war, various sides had used it to help supply their fighters in the area. Since the civil war's end in 1992, it had seen occasional use by NGO's such as Danger International as part of their humanitarian relief and economic/educational development programs in the area. Its close proximity to the area affected by the flooding made it the perfect place to base the relief efforts. Over the last four hours, the UNISON super-agent and the members of the DI team currently on site had received a number of supply runs by transports brining equipment and supplies DI had prepositioned in India. Edge's powers had been extremely useful in quickly unloading those supplies off the transports and placing them off the runway until they could be moved if needed. Among the largest things Edge had been required to move (and even they were rather light for him), were a number of Ecopods that DI had specially designed to serve as facilities for its various humanitarian aid teams around the world. Appearing to be little more than your standard cargo shipping container, the "pod" interiors were actually custom fabricated to perform various rolls. Each "pod" was able to operate completely "off the grid," in terms of power usage, with solar panels and small wind turbines providing electricity. Edge had placed two "pods" near each other a few dozen meters west of the runway. Together with connectable sides which folded down and an attachable roof section, the two "pods" formed a small medical center that had examination rooms, inoculation and blood drawing stations, and probably the most advanced surgical suite within several thousand kilometers. Each "pod" had also been pre-stocked with boxes of medical and surgical supplies, which still needed to be unpacked and stored in the appropriate places. Overseeing the set up of the medical center was Dr. Mansi Rangan, a female doctor from India. Four other "pods" had been placed together by Edge to form what would serve as the living quarters for the DI relief team. There were three which served as "barracks" for the team personnel (two for the men, one for the women). The fourth contained a kitchen and shower facilities. The fold down sides of the four connected (along with a heavy tarp cover) to form additional living space that served as both a lounge and dining area. Like the medical "pods," these had come pre-stocked with a number of supplies (bedding, provisions, etc) that needed to be unpacked and stored, but most of that work was waiting for the arrival of the rest of the relief team from the United States. The most recent two "pods" to have been delivered had been placed together by Edge to form the operations center for the relief team. Currently, the final set up of that was being over seen by Lais Tambe, a civil engineer from India and Colette Fournier, one of the team’s support personnel from France. Also present on site currently was the security detail for the DI team, lead by a man named Danimir Kvesic, a Croatian national and veteran of the French Foreign Legion. The sound of a helicopter approaching caught Edge's attention, and he looked to the south to see the Mi-8 Hip approaching in the distance. "It looks like the rest of the team is arriving Mr. Edge." Said a voice to his left. The speaker was the team's liaison from the Mozambique Army, Lieutenant Paulino Lidimo. In his late twenties, Lieutenant Lidimo not only spoke fluent English and Portuguese (the "official" language of Mozambique), but he also spoke Makhuwa, the language spoken by a number of the locals in the area.
  8. Cubist, I am not sure how a "cloud" effect would work for duct tape As I see it, if you made the Area just normal (taking a Full Action flaw) you would have a 25' radius area, which is enough to catch all the thugs (and the cat-people as well if you want) while not catching Neospell in the area. But, for this round, you have taken a move action and standard action (diplomacy), so I need to run through the bad guys and you can act again on Round Four
  9. Sadly, that is a miss. Go ahead with an IC post.
  10. Okay, going to need an attack roll.
  11. Okay, sorry for the lack of update. Neospell delays, and Red Lion 1 is cearly not impressed by the cheeta man's speech, and is intent on continuing to try to carve up the guy he has been fighting thus far. Does Neospell want to interupt?
  12. Velocity almost rolled her eyes as the older Robert was rather vague about what he expected her to do, and why he was being vague. But when he turned to what she had to prevent, and struggled slightly on how to describe it, the young woman could not help but give a little laugh, despite the seriousness of the situation. "Still can't just be crass about it Robert?" She said with a small smile. "I mean, our first meeting on Ibiza appeared at the time to be nothing more than a one nightstand." But then her smile faded as he mentioned that the Stopwatch might just be able to take her DNA and create Collapse without any of that. "Alright, I will have to be careful then." She replied, much more serious once again. Taking a deep breath, she gave a nod. "I'm ready. I guess putting me back near the facility Robert and the Stopwatch are supposed to be at would be best."
  13. Saturday, February 16, 2013 11:04 PM Megan Howell was somewhat quite as she and Kyle Conner rode the elevator in her apartment building to the thirty seventh floor. Because of Megan's business trip to Sweden last week, which had included Valentine’s Day, the couple had gone out tonight for a belated Valentine's Day. They had spent the last few hours having dinner and dancing at the Starlight Room, the revolving restaurant at the top of the Tremont Hotel in Midtown, which offered some of the most spectacular views of Freedom City's skyline. It had been a very enjoyable time, despite all the chaotic emotions that were currently at war within the young woman mind. In the month since she and Kyle has started dating, Megan had been enjoying herself, as one friend had put it, for a time she had practically been bouncing with every step. But then, almost three weeks ago, while out as Velocity, she had met another superhero named Siphon, who had inadvertently copied her superspeed and then joined her in chasing down a Chinese street gang who were on motorcycles or using Speed. While Megan really liked Kyle, there was something about Siphon she found so very appealing, someone that was part of the world she lived in as Velocity, AND could copy her powers and keep up with her, as she had allowed him to do when they had arranged to met up to patrol together once after that first meeting. As if all that were not enough, during Megan's trip to Sweden, she had gotten caught up in a situation involving her ex-lover from a year ago, Lord Robert Harrow, who had come into possession of a powerful artifact. She had also learned that in at least one possible timeline, she and Robert had been married and had a son, a son who had the ability to cause space and time collapse around him, and was driven mad by his powers. But the blonde young woman was determined not to let all that ruin her evening, and thus far, she had done so. Leading Kyle down the short stretch of hallway to her door, she gave him a wide smile as she opened it. "So, welcome to my little corner of the city." She said, stepping inside to a small foyer with hardwood floors, where she placed her small black purse and keys on a narrow table along one wall under a mirror. After she and Kyle had hung up their coats in the closet on the left side of the foyer, Megan led him straight ahead to where there was a step down and the apartment opened up into a dark area that faintly glowed with lights from other buildings. The living room area was a large space that ran perpendicular to the foyer, and connected to a small dining room area as well to the left. But the rest of the details of the room were quickly overlooked, as ones eyes were naturally drawn to the left wall of the living room, and the walls of the dining room. which were all large windows, providing a amazing view of the buildings of the Wading Way outside, including the three, twisting towers of Pyramid Plaza rising up in the distance.
  14. Gran, I believe it is generally accepted that students of Claremont know each other at least by site (have passed in the halls between classes) if nothing else. Tsunami and Myr know each other (as menioned in my IC post ). She also knows some of Blue Jays friends (El Heraldo, Blode), so it is possible the two know a bit more about each other. While Tsunami has only been at Claremont about two months, I believe it is also known among the students that she, along with Adamas, Crow and Edge, helped save the school from a bomb planted by the Summers duplicate robot. Cubist, I don't think Tsunami has done anything that would get her much media attention thus far. (Actually, I take that back a bit, she was likely mentioned as "Tsunami" in some media reports about the attempt to steal the Deep One infants from the Freedom Aquarium back at the end of January, along with another teenage heroine, Warp (no pictures of her though).
  15. The OOC for this thread. Great first posts everyone! (sorry AA, wasn't able to get to Edge's intro just yet. But will tomorrow!)
  16. Giang Trang, also known as Tsunami, sat calmly in her jump seat in the back of the old Cold War era helicopter, doing her best to ignore the jostling that occurred with almost alarming regularity as the helicopter continued its flight to the disaster stricken area of the country. The Asian teen had taken the opportunity during the long flights to get some sleep and meditate. Lacking any distinct costume of her own, she was dressed similar to how she had been almost two months ago when she had traveled to the Lost World with John, Subito and Cerys: a dark green cami top, over which she wore a light khaki long-sleeved shirt, unbuttoned at the moment with the sleeves rolled up to just below her elbows, a pair of olive cargo pants and a pair of hiking boots, well worn in during the Lost World trip. When she had heard about this opportunity, Giang had not hesitated in volunteering. Naturally her powers were well suited towards helping deal with the flooding caused by the dam’s collapse, and she certainly wanted to do what she could to help the people affected by the disaster. But she also had reasons to want to get out of Freedom City for a little while. Since the early part of February, she had hardly left the school's campus, and the few times she had, she had not ventured far or stayed out long. This self imposed isolation was a result of her and John being attacked by agents sent by her father at the Chinese New Year's celebration in the West End. Right now, a remote region of Africa seemed like the last place her father, or anyone else, might be looking for her.
  17. Velocity was already aboard the George Washington, having arrived a short while ago. She had given the others a good head start, having only left Freedom City about thirty minutes ago, and five of that had been spent searching several thousand square miles of ocean for the carrier once she had gotten to where it was supposed to be. Currently, the yellow clad speedster was in the hanger of the massive aircraft carrier. Just back on New Year's Eve, she had been in the hanger of one of the George Washington’s sister carriers, the USS Carl Vinson in the Gulf of Aden. Part of the hanger had been converted into a dance floor, to host the New Year’s celebration for the crew that she had attended to see the turn of the New Year. Thanks to the wonders of Facebook, Twitter and Youtube, Velocity’s attending the New Year celebration on the Carl Vinson (as well as her New Year's stops at US military installations on Guam, Diego Garcia and Yuma, Arizona that same trip) had become known among other service members, as she was currently among a small crowd of men and women, signing autographs and posing for pictures. The speedster was more than happy to spend a bit of time with some of the US military’s men and women, but, she was hoping the others would not be too much longer in arriving. They were out here for a reason after all, and likely a rather serious one at that.
  18. As the water continued to rise, Tsunami was walking on its surface as she caused a large globe of water to rise up into the air. Inside were the other nets containing the Deep One infants, as well as the pair that had gotten free already, who began swimming around in the globe. As Warp opened the portal once more, the Asian teen gave a nod to the other teen. "I will be right behind you." She replied. Once Warp went through, Tsunami waited a few moments, and then made her way through the portal, her water globe following along with her.
  19. Friday March 1, 2013 Mozambique air space between Pemba and the Messalo River Valley 11:00 CAT (Central Africa Time) [5:00 AM Freedom City] Though it was not yet mid-day on the southeastern coast of Africa, the temperature had already reached the high eighties, without accounting for humidity. Rain clouds lay to the west, though that was hardly unusual as March was the wettest month of the year for this region of Mozambique. An old, Soviet made Mil Mi-8 (Hip) helicopter was flying low over the acacia and palm savannah that covered much of the area near the Messalo River valley in Mozambique's Cabo Delgado province. The sliding side door on the left side of the aircraft had been left open, providing those inside with some much welcome ventilation to help deal with the stifling heat, humidity and the smell of aircraft fuel from the twin turbines located just above the helicopter’s cargo area. For the ten passengers in the back of the Mozambique Air Force transport, this was the last leg of a long journey. More than fifteen hours ago, they had left Jordan International Airport in Freedom City aboard a plane chartered by Danger International. Their travel route had taken them through Accra, Ghana, where they had boarded a smaller plane, which had flown them to the airport in Pembra, Mozambique, where they had then boarded the Hip. Five of the passengers were employees of Danger International, a foundation and NGO that was heavily involved in humanitarian aid projects in a variety of Third World countries. Dr. Mario Conte; registered nurses Dorothy Cofield and Andrew Myers; civil engineer Denise Gorrell; and support personnel Steven Wilker were part of the disaster relief team DI was dispatching to the Messalo River valley in response to flooding that had occurred when a dam under construction on the river had collapsed less than forty-eight hours ago. The other members of the team, along with UNISON super-agent, Edge, were already on site, preparing the base camp the team would be using during its stay. The other five were individuals who had volunteered to assist the team for the next few days, and were in fact superheroes. Four were students (two young women, two young men) from the Claremont Academy. As a graduate of Claremont himself, during the rushed planning for this mission, Edge had had the idea to reach out to the school and see if any students might want to join the mission for a few days and get a chance to learn about other ways they could use their powers that did not involve fighting criminals. The fifth was by far the most unusual of the group, a humanoid cheetah, the superspeedster known as Jubatus.
  20. Yeah, that won’t really accomplish much. As for the scene: 2 of the Gang Members are now down (the ones Red Lion 2 has taken down since the start of combat), but other than that, there are 10 combatants currently (not counting Neospell), though, one of the Red Lions is also pretty well down (staggered). Given Jube’s speed and coming to a halt in the middle of things, he can see all of those in the fight. The gang members are clearly such (I will come up with what gang later tonight), and are all African-American young men (I forgot to indicate that before). The Cartel types are all Latino, and dressed differently. Jube might have enough experience with them to at least guess that they are from some cartel. The Red Lions, even with the feline attributes they have taken on, look like they could be Jamaican. As for armament, the three standing gang members all have pistols clearly out. Two of the cartel members have pistols out, two have SMGs. The Red Lions have no visible weapons out, but two of the cartel members have visible claw wounds, and there are four people on the ground as well (three gang members and another cartel member) all of whom are bleeding.
  21. Megan sighed slightly at the older Robert's either inability or unwillingness to explain more to her. She did appreciate the problems he was facing in this, though she was still not entirely certain she should truly trust him. The problem was, there really was not easy way he could earn her trust, or even could have if his agents had come to speak with her instead of kidnapping her as they did. Of course, even the mere possibility of what he was describing was troubling, and not just because it involved a son she potentially could have with Robert. "Well, if it eases your concern any, as I somewhat mentioned before, I have not spoken with my Robert in about nine months. And the only person I have even been thinking about sleeping with in the last month certainly wasn’t him." Then, in the blink of an eye, Megan was no longer sitting down, but standing next to the couch, dressed in her Velocity costume. "So, what is it you would want me to do?"
  22. Also Cubist, you trying for a Diplomacy, Bluff or Intimidate action there?
  23. Megan listened to the explanation from the older Robert, such that he could give. It seemed there were a lot of unknowns, which made her wonder somewhat what Robert and whomever was helping him, had in the way of a plan. "Okay, so you don’t totally understand what you’re up against. Nothing quite new there, that tends to be how things go a good bit of time." The blonde replied. "But, what is your plan if you are able to get a hold of this stopwatch? I mean, if Collapse did not create it, who would and why key it to us?"
  24. Okay, well, Jubatus is up. (Small surprise ) Just let me know if you have any questions about the scene.
