"I can certainly try." Tsunami replied as Warp asked her if she could try to jam the water pumps. The Asian teen looked down towards the water below them, seemingly looking for something. After a few brief moments, she had located where the water was being suctioned out of the bay. Focusing her power there, Tsunami took control of the water that was being forced out by the pumps, struggling to hold it in place. For a second or two, it almost seemed as if the pumps would succeed in the struggle, but the teen managed to stop the water, keeping it in place as the pumps tried to force more water out. There was a sound of metal grinding, and then what sounded like something mechanical breaking and the pumps stopped working and went silent.

Round Eight Tsunami: 23 (bruised, 2 HP) Natas: 11 (2 bruised, staggered) Warp: 8 (unharmed, 0 HP) Tsunami will try a contested roll against the pumps (which I’ll give a move water of 8): She just wins. I will call this a DC 25 toughness save by the pumps to try to avoid being damaged by Tsunami forcing the water still. With an 11, they are pretty well mess up.

After paying their admission fee, the trio made their way doorway towards the lights and sound of voices beyond. After heading down a short hallway, with a couple of closed doors on either side, the three came into a large open area that had once housed the manufacturing operations that had taken place in the building. Well over a hundred people were gathered on raised sections of the manufacturing floor, which served as balconies overlooking a section of the factory floor which had been cleared, a small ring set up in the middle. A large number of portable lights had been set up to light the area from a number of angles. In addition to appearing to be all men, the gathered spectators were all dressed in more blue collar clothes, which served to make Lucy’s choice in her black dress stand out all the more. Thankfully most of those nearby were currently focused down on the area below, so Lucy only drew a few stares before she made her way down the stairs the man outside had indicated along with Harry and Freddy. The area down below was less brightly lit than the space above, with most of the lightly focused on the "arena," the area under the raise balconies was mainly in shadows or dimly lit. There were a couple of dozen men gathered around, at least a dozen of whom were clearly fighters waiting for the start of the nights competition. Before the trio could move very far from the stairway that had brought them down to this lower level, a Latino man in his late twenties came walking over towards them, followed closely behind by a large, thick necked man. "Hey, you all lookin' to enter a fighter?" He asked with a slight accent.

"What did you expect..." The mercenary leader began to reply to Warp as she expressed her disappointment in failing to shut down the water pumps. But he was interrupted when Tsunami sent one of her water blasts flying at him, this one once again slamming squarely into his chest. This time, the blast clearly caught the man off guard, as he gave a loud grunt of pain and was knocked off his feet and sent flying backwards more than ten feet to slam back down on the steel grating. He began to try to push himself back upright, but was clearly disoriented and injured.

Round Seven Tsunami: 23 (bruised, 2 HP) Natas: 11 (2 bruised, staggered, dazed) Warp: 8 (unharmed, 0 HP) Tsunami will focus back on Natas, power attacking for -2 atk/+2 dam, she gets a 21. He has a DC 27 toughness save now, and gets a 15. So he is now staggered and dazed.

"Interesting." Giang replied simply, her demeanor still calm and relaxed. "We got onto this topic by you mentioning that you often have trouble distinguishing the thoughts and emotions of those who’s mind you have connected with from your own, and now you are insisting I am wrong to believe I have some independent identity, however slight. If that is true, then you are expecting the impossible of yourself, for under the world view you are insisting I should accept, how can you have your own independent thoughts and emotions? You are just part of the continuous whole as well."

Well, it doesn't get vaporized, but it is very badly damaged (won't be working again any time soon). But, the pumps are still going.

GM Natas seemed to gain a bit of confidence as his last attack appeared to hurt the Asian teenager some. Now that the water pumps were going, he was confident that the flooding caused by the teenagers could be contained, and the sub could remain underwater for the time being. Looking over at the other teen, his cold voice replied back. "Perhaps the two of you should just quit while our ahead. We are heading out to sea now, so what are you going to do then?" He followed up his question with a kick aimed at Warp, however, the agile teen managed to dodge aside.

Okay, Natas tries to attack Warp this time, but misses with a 20. Warp is up.

Tsunami shifted slightly away from Natas after taking a knee to her left side. The mercenary leader was proving to be rather dangerous, even without his speargun. The Asian teen also noted that the pumps that the other man had activated appeared to be able to handle enough volume to not only remove the water that was already in the lower part of the bay, but the additional water coming in from the hole Warp had created. That would not help to force the submarine to the surface. Turning towards the remaining mercenary who had been at the controls as he started towards her, Warp and Nata, Tsunami brought her hands up in front of her to send a blast of water over at the man. The jet of water slammed squarely into him, knocking him clear off his feet and sending him flying across the room to slam into a far wall. The man was clearly unconscious when he fell to the ground.

Round Six Tsunami: 23 (unharmed, 2 HP) Natas: 11 (2 bruised) Warp: 8 (unharmed, 0 HP) Merc 9: 5 Tsunami will try to pick off the last Merc, still full Def attack. Merc 9 has a DC 25 toughness save and misses with a 19.

GM The last conscious mercenary in the room was still at the control panel he had moved to following his leader's previous orders about closing the bay doors and starting the water pumps. Though he glanced up at the melee from time to time, he was mainly focused on the controls in front of him. He flipped some more switches and levers, and then the sound of mechanical pumps started echoing from somewhere under the water in the lower part of the bay. The man then snatched back up his pistol, looking back over at the melee as he moved over to try to help Natas. Down below, the water level in the pool below began to lower slightly, despite the additional water pouring in from the hole Warp had created…

"Well, I have done my best to avoid being punched by soccer hooligans in the past, and don't really plan to change that practice anytime soon." Megan replied with a bit of grin. "As I mentioned during the holiday party last month, I had my little run in with the British tabloids a year ago when I was dating Robert Harrow." When Amir excused himself, the blonde young woman waited near the entrance for him to return. Once he was back, he directed her to a booth, and Megan took a seat. "Yeah, we exchanged numbers." She replied to his question. "Our schedules have conflicted so far."

Megan looked over to Amir with a slight look of surprise on her face as he mentioned her being the first intern Mr. Van Cleef had ever specifically requested. "Really, the first?" She asked, not quite believing that fact. She was not quite sure what to make of Amir’s comment about his siblings possible considering hiring hitmen to send after him. "Well, I am not sure I would call it sibling rivalry." She simply replied. "It is more just my insecurity associated with feeling I had to prove myself something other than just the 'pretty one' or something similar." As he talked a bit about Summit’s current investment plans in India and potential plans elsewhere, the blonde young woman just listened and nodded. As they entered the restaurant and Amir commented on the possibility of paparazzi taking their picture right now, Megan simply gave a small grin. "I am not sure it's my father that you need to be concerned about as opposed to Angus. She and I have yet to be able to arrange for me to go visit her studio, and I would hate for that to start off with her mad at me."

GM Mr. Chen answered Harry's call quite quickly. From the background noise Harry was hearing through the phone, it sounded as if Mr. Chen was somewhere in the middle of the Chinese New Year's celebration as well. "Good evening Mr. Hound." Mr. Chen answered. "It sounds as if you have decided to search here in Chinatown tonight as well. That should help make things easier. I have other reasons for attending tonight, but, I have taken steps to try to help locate her if she attends." "I have several associates who are located around the area the celebrations are taking place in. Once I heard from any of them, I will pass the information along to you. Having you here already will make it much easier for you to find her quickly."

Yeah, but he manages to make his toughness save with a 26.

Giang nodded as Kristin mentioned why she had come to Claremont and the help she had received in learning to better control her powers. "It seems a number of students came here to help learn to better control their abilities. I am glad the experience has been so beneficial for you." She replied. When the Australian teen asked more about her childhood in Vietnam, and in particular why she had little interaction with the other children in the village she grew up in, Giang was quite for a brief moment before answering. "My life in Vietnam was very regimented, with various lessons, training and mediation." The Asian teen replied. "I was expected to be focused and disciplined, my..parents, did not view the other children in the village as being similarly inclined."

GM Natas watched as Warp removed his speargun from the fight, placing it in her personal dimensional space. As the Asian teen picked off another of his men, the mercenary leader growled slightly. Stepping forward, he launched a left jab at Tsunami, the Asian teen shifting to block the attack, but she had barely begun to block the jab, when he brought his right knee up, driving it into Tsunami's side. The thin sheen of water that covered the Asian teen took the brunt of the attack, but it still connected with enough force to cause her to let out a small cry of pain, though she remained on her feet. The other gunman who had been firing at the two superheroines lifted his pistol up towards the ceiling as they both became engaged in melee with his boss. Not wanting to risk hitting Natas, the gunman instead rushed forward, moving up towards Warp and swinging his pistol at the teen. However, Warp was easily able to dodge out of the way of the clumsy attack.

Natas is going to attack Tsunami this time, hitting with a 29. Once again a DC 19 toughness save, Tsunami gets a, ouch, 16, so she takes a bruise. With both heroes in melee with his boss, Merc 11 runs up and tries to hit Warp, he gets a 21, not quite good enough. Warp's action.

Tsunami gave a small nod in response to Warp’s thanks, keeping her attention focused on Natas and the other gunmen. Seeing Warp successfully cause some damage to Natas, the Asain teen turned slightly to her right, brining her hands up to send a blast of water streaking across the room towards one of the other gunmen. The twisting jet of water slammed squarely into the man’s chest, sending him flying backward to slam into the wall before crumpling to the floor unconscious. Tsunami then turned back to face Natas, bringing her hands back in front of her in a defensive stance.

Round Five Tsunami: 23 (unharmed, 2 HP) Natas: 11 (2 bruised) Merc 10: 10 Merc 11: 9 Warp: 8 (unharmed, 0 HP) Merc 9: 5 Tsunami is going to pick off Merc 10, using def attack: -5 atk/+5 def, taking 10 to hit him. He does not make his toughness save and goes down.

GM Natas staggered back slightly from the power of Warp's kick, a grunt of pain barely audible from behind the tinted faceplate of his helmet. But he remained on his feet, clearly still in the fight. Across the room, one of the three gunmen rushed over towards a control panel overlooking the pool of water below. Activating some of the controls on the panel, yellow lights began to flash along the walls of the room, as the two teenagers could hear the muffled sounds of metal doors beginning to close beneath them.
