  1. Shivering slightly in the extreme cold that was being put out by the villainess, Velocity decided that she had given her enough chances and it was just time to try to put this to an end. Speeding back towards the blonde villainess, launching a blinding strike with her right fist. A *CRACK* echoed down the street as the speedster's hand broke the sound barrier. But, as quick as the attack was, somehow the blue clad villainess managed to avoid it once again. A moment later Velocity was a short distance from Warp, also outside the miniature snow storm. "I'd like to blame it on the cold, but for some reason I'm just off tonight." She stated flatly.
  2. Okay, Round Two Velocity: 51(unharmed, 2 HP) Snowblind: 16 (unharmed) Warp: 7 (unharmed, 1 HP) Velocity will just make a straight normal attack. She gets a 19, wow, another miss on Snowblind.
  3. Mr. Chen gave a small smile as Harry and Freddy took the indicated seats, reaching over to set out three tea cups and then pour some of the green tea into each. Taking up the cup nearest to him, he took a sip, and listened intently as Harry began explaining what they needed his help with. Setting down his tea cup, Mr. Chen took the photograph of the Asian girl when offered by Harry, studying it for a moment. "A very lovely young lady." He stated, looking back up at the two across form him. "Unless I am mistaken, this was taken in Hong Kong." He sat the picture down between him and Harry, was quite for a moment and then continued. "It can be a difficult matter, looking for someone in a place this large, particularly if they do not want to be found and keep a low profile." "I cannot say I know anything about her, but I can certainly make a few inquiries, see if I might be able to uncover something. I trust you will still be needing this picture?" He asked as he indicated the photograph. "Of course, there is the question of what I might be able to expect in return for my assistance in this matter."
  4. One of the teachers for the kindergraden group gave Kat something of a look at her comment, but otherwise said nothing. The kids all seemed intently focused on the small creatures swimming about in the tank before them. Giang simply shrugged her shoulders in response to Kat's question, not entirely sure herself what to make of the numerous creatures. Moving slightly to the middle, where they could better read the placard for the exhibit, the two teens read: Nearby was a large box that had a sign that indicated it was for donations to help provide for the care of the Deep One infants.
  5. GM The blue clad woman stepped back when Velocity tried to attack her and then quickly returned back near where she started. She looked at the two heroines a brief moment before stepping forward, both her hands coming up in front of her. "I am not going to prison!" She yelled out as ice began forming in the air above Velocity and Warp, arching down to form an icy dome under which to trap them. However, despite the bitter cold around them, the reflexes of two heroines were both too well tuned to be caught in the trap. Velocity zipped out from under the dome, just ducking out as one wall finished forming. Warp dove off to one side, rolling under the closing wall and coming back up on her feet off to another side of the dome as it finished forming.
  6. After the chance to rest over the night, Giang was better able to handle the trek she and her fellow students began as they tried to discover if the Serpent People were behind the assault on Lord Zandar’s people. She took the somewhat challenging path with her general stoicism, her demeanor calm and relaxed, though she was attentive to the jungle around them. Having noted the source of the mysterious presence she had been feeling for some time, the Asian teen had prepared herself to draw on her powers if it proved hostile. Though slightly surprised that it turned out to be Kazra, Giang did not overly react to the girl's sudden appearance. She was quite as she listened to the jungle lord’s daughter explain her reasons for following them, and the also to Cerys response. On one hand, Giang was rather troubled by this development. As Cerys indicated, Lord Zandar could very well be quite upset with them if they allowed his young daughter to accompany them on what was sure to be a dangerous mission. Beyond that fact, she had been taught the importance of respecting and obeying ones family, and to allow Kazra to accompany them as well as teaching her about the world they came from, could well be assisting Kazra in disobeying her father and mother. However, Giang herself had gone against her father and his wishes, leaving his home and striking out on her own. While she certainly believed her choice was the morally correct one, it was still somewhat hard to fit those feeling with the duty to honor ones family and elders. Though the Asian teen did not really think that Kazra's situation was quit the same as her situation, the Asian teen still would feel somewhat hypocritical if she was to raise the issue with the others, who were not necessarily as likely to feel the same way regarding deference to one’s family. So, she decided that perhaps there was another way to look at the situation that supported Kazra’s remaining with them. "How much time would we lose if we turned back to return you to where your parents have gone?" She asked simply.
  7. Yay, we both dodge out. Course, Warp would only have been trapped until she made a move action to teleport out, Velocity would have had to shift to Insubstantial and run out. Hehe. GM post will be up later tonight. I forgot to put this on my initiative post, below is a picture of Snowblind.
  8. Bonebreaker leaps after Velocity, and totally misses her with a 9. YB’s turn!
  9. GM "Nice try." Bonebreaker called up to Young Britannia with a small smirk. But on hearing Mindfire cry out in pain, he turned to see her barely staying up in the air and then hears Velocity’s comment as she speeds by and down the street. The smirk immediately vanished from his face as he scowls in anger. He growls deeply as he crouches back slightly before propelling himself though the air once more after the speedster. Landing just beside her, he swings massive fist at her once again, but as before she easily avoids the attack. "AHHH, I will break you in half if I get a hold of you!" He cried out in frustration.
  10. As mentioned, that just barely misses. So, Round Six: Velocity: 63 (2 bruised, 1 HP) Mindfire: 21 (4 bruised, Staggered, Dazed) Bonebreaker: 15 (2 bruised) Young Britannia: 4 (bruised, 3 HP) Velocity continues her attacks on Mindfire: a 26, not full autofire, but still makes it +11 damage. Mindfire has a DC 26 toughness save, she gets a: this time she only gets a 13, so she is Staggered and dazed.
  11. Young Britannia lets loose another blast from her aura, but this time it just misses its intended target, with Bonebreaker just twisting out of the way. The burst of energy blows a small hole in the pavement as the villain keeps his gaze focused on the flying heroine. Velocity sends more supersonic projectiles at Mindfire, the faint cracks echoing down the street. While she only hits with four of them this time, the hits are solidly in the redhead's stomach and chest, knocking her backward and causing her to cry out in pain as she appears close to being on her last leg and dazed. The speedster then runs down the road so she passes out in front of Bonebreaker. "I think it's me you want a shot at muscle head." She shouts as she runs over to the next intersection.
  12. Snowblind is going to try and trap both heroines under a dome of ice (Create Object). Need a DC 22 Reflex save to try to get out of the area before it is enclosed. Velocity gets a 22, wow, just makes it. Need one for Warp.
  13. Okay, Velocity will make an attack, but is going easy on Snowblind, for the moment. Using the base Accurate Attack that everyone gets: -2 dam/+2 atk. Then she will Defensive Attack, -3 atk, +3 def (giving her an Attack of +10, Defense of +18). She will further pull her punch for only +5 dam. Her attack roll is: 18, not good enough.
  14. Having seen the villainess' hesitancy to fight, Velocity had been willing to try to give her the benefit of the doubt. But when the speedster saw her tense up, she realized this was not likely to end easily. She still decided to give her one last opportunity to just surrender. With a flash of movement, Velocity had closed the distance between her and the blue clad woman. "Okay, I'll take it easy on you to start to try and get it through your head that you should come along easily." Focusing on being ready to dodge any counter attack, the speedster launched a quick punch with her right hand, drastically reducing the amount of speed and power that she could normally achieve. However, the villainess was able to sidestep the attack altogether. Velocity kept moving, zipping back to a spot not far from where she started, shivering slightly as she was still in the extreme cold the woman was generating. "Maybe that was being a little too easy." She commented to no one in particular, her breath visible in the cold air in front of her.
  15. GM When Warp teleported down near Velocity, she suddenly felt a biting cold in the air that had her shivering as the faint flurry of snow swirled around her. She could also now see that the ATM machine appears to have been frozen until it became brittle, and then simply smashed be the woman in blue. Now able to see her better, the teen could see she was a slender, small-framed woman in her mid-twenties, with long, straight blonde hair and blue eyes. Her costume was a long blue coat with white fur trim, and she also wore dark blue boots and fingerless gloves and had a pair of ski goggles pulled up on her head. She appeared slightly hesitant, but then tensed as if she realized she had no choice but to try to run or fight her way clear.
  16. Round One Velocity: 51 (unharmed, 2 HP) Snowblind: 16 (unharmed) Warp: 7 (unharmed, 1 HP) Need an initiative roll for Warp.
  17. Despite the Caddy's occasional protest, Harry managed to keep good time as he drove them back towards the West End for their appointment. Years on the force had helped him learn more than a few short cuts through the city, and he used every one of them now to cut down on the travel time. The pair reached Freedom City's small Chinatown just about twenty six minutes later. Somehow managing to quickly find a parking spot large enough for the Caddy, they were soon hustling down the sidewalk towards the address Jake had provided. It turned out to be a small, hole in the wall Chinese restaurant, decorated with dark wood paneling and Chinese paintings, ornate looking vases and faux gold statutes of dragons. At this time of day, it was almost completely empty, save for the staff. Sitting at a small table in the center of the dining area was a Chinese gentleman who appeared to be in his late forties. He was dressed in a dark grey suit, with a grey dress shirt and black tie. As the two made their way forward, he looked up at them. "Mr. Hound, Mr. Furlong I presume?" He stated in way of greeting. "I usually expect those I deal with to be more punctual. But I am willing to be understanding, this time. Please, have a seat." He stated, indicating the two seats across from him. "Would either of you be interested in some tea?" He asked, indicating the porcelain tea pot sitting to one side of the table, a number of tea cups beside it.
  18. Okay, so you pick up a bruise. Its now YB's action :)
  19. Mindfire hits Velocity with Teleknetic Torture. Velocity just makes her Fortitude Save with a 25 Young Britannia needs to try to make a DC 21 Reflex save to reduce the effects of Bonebreaker’s shockwave. If she does, she only needs a DC 21 toughness save, otherwise it will be a DC 26 toughness save.
  20. GM Mindfire swooped down closer towards Velocity as her ghostly psychic fire flared around her hands. "You've taken your best shoots! Now it's my turn!" Once again ghostly flames formed around the yellow clad speedster, causing her to grimace slightly in pain. However, this time, the speedster managed to shake off the worst of the attack, staying on her feet and keeping focused on the two remaining supervillains. Bonebreaker watched as the redheaded counter attacked, and then glanced at the downed Raditron and then up towards Young Britannia. "I tried to warn you, but you just seem intent on playing hero. Your funeral." With that he took a slight step forward as he raised his two arms out to either side and then swung them both together in front of him, angled up towards the flying heroine. *WHAM* His large hands slammed together, creating a massive shockwave that rippled up towards Young Britannia!
  21. The British heroine once again hit Raditron with a blast of energy, but this time the villain was knocked off his feet and onto the pavement. The glowing forcefield that had been around him flickered out, as he drifted into unconsciousness. “Nice job.†Velocity commented as one of the villains finally went down. “We will definitely have to exchange numbers.†She then stated. "Well, back in December, another hero named Voltage and I stopped those two," the speedster pointed towards Bonebreaker and Mindfire, "as they went on a little rampage up in Kingston. Sleeping beauty over there helped break them free and if I am reading things right, Mindfire decided to trade up boyfriends and dumped Mr. Musclebound for the guy who kept her out of jail." "But lest see what we can do about sending all three to Blackstone." With that, the speedster zipped back closer towards Mindfire as she recovered from the last attack. Several faint cracks filled the air as Velocity once again sent several hypervelocity projectiles at the redheaded villainess. Just like last time, she hit with all five of them, however this time, Mindfire's forcefield managed to protect her from the impacts, as she snarled and focused her glowing eyes on the speedster. "Oh, just great." Velocity commented as she skidded to a halt half a block away.
  22. So, Round Five: Velocity: 63 (2 bruised, 1 HP) Mindfire: 21 (4 bruised) Bonebreaker: 15 (2 bruised) Raditron: 14 (4 bruised, Staggered, Dazed) Young Britannia: 4 (Unharmed, 4 HP) Another Rapid Fire attack on Mindfire, getting a 27, which is again enough to hit with full autofire. Wow, Mindfire makes her toughness save with a 29! (vs a DC 27 save)
  23. Raditron fails his toughness save with a 11. So, Staggered + Staggered equals KO'd!
  24. Making their way out of the office, the two private investigators climb into the old Caddy and start off towards the city's docks with a quick stop at the bank along the way to deposit their new client's check into the business account. With Freddy driving, Harry makes a few phone calls, trying to see what sorts of possible leads they might be able to dig up. Harry's idea to make some inquires with Claremont Academy quickly proves that it might be more difficult than he thought. The woman who answered the phone was quick to shut down any attempt at questioning, indicating that the school did not discuss its students with anyone other than a student’s parents over the phone. Harry next makes a few calls to a few contacts. Those conversations quickly turn out to be rather short as well, as none of the contacts have heard anything about the girl or have any other potentially useful information, though several indicate they can try to make some inquiries of their own and see what might turn up. Soon the pair were down at the docks along the city's Waterfront as they began speaking with various longshoremen, warehouse and pier managers, and anyone else that seems to regularly be along the piers throughout the day. After a few hours of walking and numerous conversations, it was quickly appearing likely that no one down here knew anything about the girl. It was about that point that Harry's phone rang with a return call from one of his contacts named Jake Newell. "Hey Harry." Jake said when the rumpled private eye answered the phone. "I think I might know someone in Chinatown that might be able to offer some help. His name is Gordon Chen, and I have arranged a meeting with him in about forty five minutes. If you don't think you can make it, let me know and I can try to push it out."
  25. Giang had a feeling that Kat did not really want to talk much more about the subject, so she simply gave a small nod in response. When the other teen turned the subject to getting some pizza after school, the Asian teen gave a small smile. "That sounds good." The two teenagers' path had led them to a section of the aquarium where the lights were considerably dimmer than the areas around the other exhibits. Inside the room was a large tank that wrapped around two walls of the room, both of which were entirely glass to allow full view of the tank. Gathered in front of both windows was what appeared to be a bus load of kindergardners, all of whom were clearly excited by whatever was in the tank. As Giang and Kat drew closer, they were able to look over the head of the excited five and six year olds to see dozens of small, humanoid creatures swimming around in the large tank. Glancing down at the placard in the corner where the two windowed walls met, they could see that the sign indicated the tank contained "DEEP ONE INFANTS." From time to time, some of the small creatures would swim close to the windows, and the teens could see that they were hairless, with green, scaly skin. They had clawed hands and feet, pointed ears, and pupilless eyes that were entirely black. Some would seem to hiss as they peered outside the tank with their dark eyes, reveling sharp, needle like teeth, before they would swim back away into the more shadowy sections of the tank.
