Having pretty much always been an outgoing person, it was not at all difficult for Megan to quickly get her conversation with Amanda and Yasuko, even if Yasuko appeared a little bit quite at first. When Kyle returned, the young blonde gave him a warm smile as he handed her a drink. She then returned to talking with the other women about some of the nightclubs she had visited in London while she had been studying at Cambridge last year. When Adam arrived as the game was about to start, Megan simply sat back in the couch next to Kyle. "I think I'll pass. I am afraid I have not tried to follow either team very closely this year, so any bet I made would just be a wild guess."

Tsunami gets a 19 for her initiative check.

Ow, Velocity just misses her Fort save and is now Fatigued. Guess that will help even things out a bit. I assume Siphon will be Mimicing Speed 9, so he can keep up as we start the chase?
-
Velocity was just rounding the corner as her goggles helped her focus in on the six young men on motorcycles and about four similarly dressed figures running at comparable speed beside. They were all of Asian descent, and on the back of their leather jackets were emblazoned with what appeared to be a dark colored hand in the shape of a fist. Great, looks like some street gang. She thought, wondering what they were up to. That thought was quickly answered as two of the ones that were running alongside (possibly on Zoom) sped a bit ahead of the pack and stopped along one side of the street. Her goggles zooming in slightly, the speedster spotted a figure standing on the sidewalk in front of the two gang members, and she was pretty sure he was a hero she had recently read about in the papers called Siphon. The two gang members then raised sub-machineguns and aimed them at Siphon. I don't think he is bulletproof. Velocity thought suddenly as she felt a slight surge of adrenaline and then accelerated as fast as she could. There was a loud *CRACK*, followed by a deep *BOOM* as she broke the sound barrier, closing the distance between herself and Siphon in a fraction of a second. She reached him just as the sub-machineguns began firing at full automatic. Wrapping her arms around his waist, she used her momentum to push him out of the path of the automatic weapon fire, sending both of them flying some ten feet further down the sidewalk, before they bounced and tumbled onto the pavement. Ow! The speedster thought as she came to a halt, half lying on top of Siphon. As the pair had tumbled along the ground, one of Siphon's hands had brushed up against Velocity's cheek. The motorcycles and other running gang members roared on by, someone yelling something in Chinese as they passed. The two that had just opened fire were then off as well, running at well over a hundred miles an hour after their fellow gang members.

GM Siphon was just standing up and turning back towards to street to see what the sound of the approaching motorcycles might mean when a pair of young men suddenly appeared out in the nearby street before him in a blur of motion. Both of Asian descent, dressed in jeans, T-shirts, and similar looking black leather jackets. But the hero barely had time to register their sudden appearance when one of them flatly stated, "this block belongs to the Dark Fist." Then in a blur of motion, both leveled sub-machineguns at the figures before them and began to pull the triggers…

The OOC for this thread. Velocity uses Well Informed to try to recognize Siphon (maybe from the recent story about him in the paper about the heist at the book convention Az?), and gets a 16. Not great, but probably enough to at least recognize him and put a name to the costume, do you think? I am going to go ahead and post IC that she at least recognizes him to keep us moving, but let me know if you are not so sure and I can edit.

With Firebug unconscious, Hound had little trouble in dousing the remainder of the flames, though he exhausted the remaining contents of the fire extinguisher in doing so. Soon he made his way back out after his partner, who was dragging the unconscious arsonist out the still open back door to the shop. On the way, the Hound picked up the odd flamethrower handgun Firebug had been carrying. Back outside, Bloody Mess returned to his body as Hound watched the unconscious arsonist. While he did so, the rumpled private investigator sniffed out a pair of incendiary grenades in the pockets of Firebug's leather jacket, which he relived him of as well. By the time Freddy was back in his body and climbing up off the sidewalk, the pair could hear the sound of approaching police sirens.

Thug 1 also gets a 10 on his Fort save. As he is a minion, we will just say he goes unconcious as well. Go ahead and post that IC :)

Tsunami came to a sudden halt as the ground began shaking beneath their feet and then some large red mole looking creature broke through the surface from the underground bunker. She watched in surprise as the creature then started to shift so it looked like a giant red gorilla, and started moving towards the edge of campus. Edge quickly took charge, providing words of encouragement and directions for each of the teens. Nodding, she took a step forward, feet slightly further than shoulder width apart as she brought both her hands up in front of her. Seemingly from nowhere, a jet of water shot forth, twisting and coiling as it streaked across the grounds before slamming into the back of the large red gorilla. With a concussive force greater than a high pressure water cannon, the blast sent the creature sprawling onto the ground, at least for the moment. "If that gets loose I may not be able to keep up." She stated simply, her hands still outstretched, ready to launch another attack.
-
Tsunami will power attack, -3 att, +3 dam, with her water blast. Her attack roll is 10+12= 22. That is +13 damage (+15 for knockback purposes) for a DC 28 toughness save.
-
Firebug blows this toughness save with a 15. That should make him Staggered and Dazed, but I will just put him into unconsciousness.
-
Coming down at the downed arsonist, Bloody Mess' two handed smash connected solidly onto Firebug’s upper back as he stared to push himself back up. The man let out a loud grunt of pain as he was slammed back down onto the floor, hard. The last remaining flame creature flickered and then disappeared completely. The flames in the room seemed to dim slightly, but they did not completely extinguish. Firebug was not moving, though he was still breathing. Then from up the stairs, Hound and Blood Mess heard the old man yell down towards them. "I don't know what you hooligans are up to, but the police are on their way!"
-
Firebug gets a 18 on his roll vs the trip (I forgot it was supposed to be worst when I rolled it, so it should only be +1 (Str) not +3 (Dex). So he is tripped!
-
Firebug again tries to burn Hound, totally failing with an 11. The last fire creature tries to hit Bloody Mess again, and fails with a 10. So, Round Four: Hound: 15 Bloody Mess: 10 (2 HP) Firebug: 4 (2 bruised) Fire Creature 1: 4 Hound’s action.
-
The powerful blow knocked Firebug's head backward, causing him to stagger backward a few steps as he refocused on the pair of private eyes that were confounding his latest arson attempt. Blood was flowing from one corner of his lip, but he ignored it as he once again caused the flames in the backroom to shoot a jet of fire at Hound, who once again was able to dodge out of the way. The last remaining flame creature again lunged after Bloody Mess as the liquid hero dropped back to the floor. But once again it was unable to hit the agile fighter with its flaming arms.
-
The faint fools Firebug, so that is good enough to hit! He takes another bruise from the hit.
-
This time Hound's concentrated spray of foam completely covered one of the flame creatures. For a brief moment it seemed like it might flare back up and defeat the fire retardant foam once again, but that was short lived, as the foam caused it to sputter, and then die out completely. A fierce snarl escaped from Firebug as he saw the flames extinguished, and he focused back on Hound with a murderous look in his eyes. "You don' fool me! No one is coming to help you and whatever the hell that other thing is." The arsonist shouted. "Your just some two bit private dick. Soon you're just going to be another charred corpse!"
-
The dice turn against Firebug, he only gets an 11 for his power check, that is one flame creature extinguished! But he makes his bluff check to resist the taunt with a 21.
-
Man, Firebug is getting some lucky rolls. He got a 21 to resist being disarmed. Fire Creature 1 comes after Bloody Mess, just missing with a 21. Fire Creature 2’s attack is even further off with a 16. Firebug attacks Hound, but misses with a 13. So, Round Three: Hound: 15 Bloody Mess: 10 (2 HP) Firebug: 4 (bruised) Fire Creature 1: 4 Fire Creature 2: 4 Hound’s action.
-
Hound sprayed the nearest of the fire creatures with the fire extinguisher, trying to douse it. It seemed to sputter for a brief moment, before its flames intensified, fighting off the foam and remaining in place. Firebug managed to hold onto his weapon as Bloody Mess leapt at him and tried to knock it away. "Get away from me!" He yelled, as he moved back away from the liquid humanoid. He then swung his attention at Hound. "Don' you touch my flames!" He screamed, as he gestured again at the flames that was still engulfing some of the boxes in the room. A jet of fire shot out from the flames, but the private eye was able to dodge aside as it streaked by, hitting the front of the shop, catching one of the blinds on fire. The two flame creatures turned and moved towards Bloody Mess. The first swung a flaming arm at him, just missing as Bloody Mess could feel the heat it was generating. The other tired to attack as well, but fared even worse than the first.
-
Hound gets a 17 . But Firebug manages to keep the flame creature active with a 20. Mess’ action.
-
Okay SC, that is good enough to hit one of the flame creatures. Shall we call it an opposed roll against his summoning? So Hound can make a 1d20 +6 for the extinghisher.
-
So, Round Two: Hound: 15 Bloody Mess: 10 (2 HP) Firebug: 4 (bruised) Fire Creature 1: 4 Fire Creature 2: 4 Hound’s action.
-
Surprised by the sight before him, Firebug is completely fooled by Bloody Mess' feint and then sudden attack. The uppercut connected, but Firebug had pulled back slightly at the last minute, and took the blow with seemingly little effect. "I don' know what the hell you are, but let's see how you handle the heat!" The Jamaican responded as he took some steps back from Bloody Mess. As he did so, he gestured towards the flames that were still burning nearby. Suddenly, part of the flame seemed to leap out into the air, splitting in two as it did so. Touching down between Bloody Mess and Firebug, the two jets of flame then formed into two vaguely humanoid shapes, about the same size as Bloody Mess. Back in the front room, Hound glanced around quickly, spotting a fire extinguisher back behind the counter.
-
Okay, Firebug misses his bluff check, so is fooled by the feint, so the attack hits. This time he gets a lucky roll and makes his toughness save with a 26. SC: taking a move action to look around the front room, Hound spots a fire extinguisher back behind the counter of the shop.
