She is not a build I would make I can certainly increase the action for her Mind Reading back a little higher. Her Awarness is Mental Awarness, which I have always understood to allow a character with the power to be able to detect others using mental powers.

Megan's smile broadened as Angus mentioned her new recording name and extended the offer to visit her recording studio. "That sounds wonderful Angus. I've never had a chance to visit a recording studio before." The blonde replied. "I will be sure to keep an eye out for your new album as well." The young woman chuckled slightly as Amir elaborately chastised himself while apologizing for not properly introducing her and Angus properly. "Thank you, I would love a glass of champagne." Megan replied to Amir's question. It was just then that Jennifer stepped into Megan's view to greet her. "Merry Christmas to you Jennifer." The blonde replied with her own smile, giving the other young woman a small hug. "I know, I missed everything last year being off at Cambridge." Megan then stepped back slightly so the small gathering formed something of a circle. "Jennifer, allow me to introduce Amir al-Misri, the owner and chief executive officer of Summit Transnational Group, and Annice Stone, recording artist and studio owner." She began before looking back to Amir and Angus. "Jennifer is the daughter of Marcus and Karen Owens, the owners of Owens Enterprises. She is also part of Owens Enterprises' scientific research staff."

Here is the 2ed build for Mindfire (who is from the 3ed Threat Report). Like many villains (and heroes) in the M&M books, she has more power points than her PL.

Character Name: Mindfire Power Level: 11 (183/183 PP) Trade-Offs: +2 Toughness/ -2 Defense Unspent Power Points: 0 In Brief: Sociopathic psionic. Alternate Identity: Emma Jeffries Identity: Secret Birthplace: Emerald City Occupation: Powered Muscle for hire Affiliations: none Family: Michael Jeffries (father, deceased) Age: 22 Gender: Female Height: 5’ 4†Weight: 100 lbs Eyes: Green Hair: Red Mindfire is an attractive woman in her early twenties with long red hair and green eyes. When using her powers, her eyes glow yellow/orange. Her costume is a skintight bodysuit of red and black with a yellow flame burst on the front. Power Descriptions: Mindfire is a psionic, and not a subtle one. She is both telepathic and telekinetic, but the manifestations of power are always accompanied by a ghostly fire-like effect. This distinctive psionic signature is reflective of her sadistic personality. Her telepathy is blunt and brutal, so when she enters others’ minds, it’s a painful process unless she really concentrates. She would love to master mind control, but despite her best efforts all she’s managed to develop is the ability to draw out the target’s worst fears. History: Emma Jeffries is the daughter of Michael Jeffries, wealthy philanthropist and mob lawyer. The senior Jeffries was responsible for keeping numerous organized crime figures out of jail, but to his great frustration, was never admitted further into the families. Behind closed doors, he took his frustration out on his wife and child. At nine years old, Emma was shipped off to the first of the high-priced boarding schools that were her home from then on. A year after she left, Emma’s mother committed suicide. After that, she felt little connection to her father and knew him mainly as the man who controlled the purse strings and who beat her at his whim. She learned early on how to manipulate the dangerous men around her and became hyper-aware of her surroundings, so nothing would surprise her – successful survival strategies for someone in her situation. When Daddy learned about her role in the disappearance of her many “pets†and the violent beatings she had inflicted on friends who’d angered her, she was moved from the boarding schools to secure, discreet mental hospitals. She was being moved from one such facility to another in the back of a limo when the route came a little too close to ground zero of the Silver Storm. Her psionic abilities literally exploded into being. They shredded the limo and the men around her. After recovering enough self-control to work through what had happened and what she could do, Emma made her way home and showed Daddy just how unhappy she was with him. Her explanation took some time and he didn’t survive it. Freed from her previous life, Mindfire immediately put knowledge of her father’s former associates to use in order to hire herself out as super-powered muscle. She’s expanded her client list since then, but not her goals – money and fun and plenty of people to inflict pain upon are all she really wants and she indulges those whims as she likes. Personality & Motivation: Mindfire’s personality is a dangerous mix of frustrated entitlement, a lifetime of rage, and complete indifference to the value of human life. She projects a flirtatious exterior and maintains enough self-control to operate in everyday life, but her temper is always there, just below the surface. The only real enjoyment she derives from life since her transformation is using her powers to cause pain and suffering, or to flaunt them to prove she’s superior to whomever she’s dealing with; in short, she’s a classic sociopath. Powers & Tactics: Mindfire has a number of painful or destructive abilities to use against opponents. While able to delve into the minds of others to read their thoughts, or project mental messages to others, the use of those abilities is painful to the subject. Complications: Motivation – Thrills & Safety: Mindfire had an abusive upbringing and she seeks to make herself safe from potential threats. She’s also a bit of an adrenaline junkie. Sadist: Mindfire loves exerting her power over others and can get so wrapped up in it that she doesn’t pay attention to what’s happening around her. Temper: Mindfire has a short fuse. She was abused during her childhood – and surrounded by even greater violence. She has a violent temper that often gets the best of her. She can go from calm to murderous in an instant, especially when she feels helpless, powerless, or belittled. Before Megan could move away from the tree where the donations were being deposited another familiar face appeared from the crowd and greeted her. "Good evening Mr. al-Misri." Megan replied with a warm smile as she gave a playful shrug at his comment about Yale. "It may not be Harvard, but I have not regretted my choice so far. In any event, Summit's recruiters did not seem overly bothered by my choice in Ivy League schools." "But you know my parents, they try to get to as many functions here as they can. Since starting school I just have not been able to join them for as many as I used to." Megan added. "They should be nearby, I was just dropping off our donations." Turning to the woman with Amir, Megan gave her a friendly smile as well. "Hi, I'm Megan and…" the blonde young woman began before stopping as a look of recognition crossed her face. "Your Annice Avebury! I love your songs. Some friends I made while studying at Cambridge last year introduced me to them."

The door of the dark room opening created an echo from within the darkness. A lone figure was silhouetted in the doorway by the light from the hallway beyond. The figure reached up inside the right side of the doorway to a light switch. Suddenly the room was bathed in light, which reflected off several fully length mirrors which almost completely covered three of the walls in the room. Dressed in a pair of yoga pants and a sports bra, Megan blinked slightly as her eyes adjusted to the light before she looked around the small dance studio that her parents had set up for her nearly ten years ago. The room was sound proofed, its floor all wood. In addition to the mirrors that covered three of the room’s walls, the two side walls each had a permanent barre set along them at just about waist height. A small table was on the left side of the doorway, on which the blonde young woman sat down a water bottle and a towel as she walked into the room, shutting the door behind her. Moving further into the room, Megan made her way towards the left hand side of the room, where there was a door that was part of the mirrored wall. Stopping there, the blonde lifted her right leg up onto the handrail of the barre to begin some stretching and warm up exercises. The warm up continued for well over ten minutes, with Megan switching the leg on the handrail several times throughout. Stepping back from the barre, Megan shifted her weight onto her left leg as she brought both arms straight above her head. As she started leaning forward, she bent her right leg up behind her before starting to straighten it out once more as she continued to lift it up behind her. When Megan finally came to a stop, her torso and arms were parallel to the floor, her hands grasping the barre’s handrail. Her right leg was completely vertical to the floor, her right foot pointed up towards the ceiling. Holding the position for about ten seconds, Megan then began lowering her right leg while standing back upright. Shifting her weight to her right foot, she again leaned forward towards the barre, this time lifting her left leg up until it was vertical to the floor as well. After standing back up, Megan felt satisfied that she had sufficiently warmed up and moved over to the nearby door, opening it. Inside the small closet was stereo system for the room, connected to a computer that was networked with the one up in Megan’s room and contained thousands of songs and various other music she had downloaded from CDs and I-Tunes over the years. As she started to scroll through the various playlists that she had in the system, the young woman realized she seriously needed to put some work into organizing things a bit better. Not really feeling like focusing on any one thing, Megan set the program for random shuffling through the various playlists. Shutting the door, the blonde moved towards the center of the room as the first song was selected. It was Try by Pink. The generally slow tempo of the song allowed Megan to start off with slow, flowing movements as she began to dance to the music, speeding up slightly during the chorus. When the song came to an end, Megan froze, her last movements, waiting to see what she would get next. The next song turned out to be Shut up and Drive by Rihanna, and Megan immediately went into the dance routine she had choreographed to the song for the cheerleading squad during her Senior year at North Bay Academy. The fast paced moves to the routine came back with relative easy as Megan let the music guide her. Megan regularly found herself having to adjust as the program continued to shuffle through songs from a wide variety of playlists. At times she was gracefully gliding around the room to a waltz with an imaginary partner. There were others where she again performed old cheerleading dance routines from her time on the North Bay squad, to songs such as Sexyback by Justin Timberlake and Temperature by Sean Paul. Yet others had her salsa dancing. And of course there were a number of dance songs which she had to improvise to, such as Don’t Stop the Party by Pitbull; I Fell in Love With the DJ by Cha'Nelle; Scream and Shout by Will.i.am (with Britney Spears); Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO; and one of Annice Avebury's songs.. After about an hour and a half, Megan had worked up quite a sweat. Stopping as the music continued to play, she made her way back over towards the barre near the door where the sounds system was located. After ten minutes of cool down stretching, Megan shut off the sound system and made her way towards the exit, grabbing her water and towel as she did. Glancing at the clock in the room, she saw she still had plenty of time to take a shower before going out to dinner with her parents. Turning off the lights, Megan closed the door behind her, blanketing the room in darkness once again.

Megan set the box she had been carrying down on some of the other boxes she had unloaded from her SUV. Letting out a brief sigh of relief, she went over by the computer table in her room and picked up her smartphone. Earlier, she had sent a text off to her two best friends from high school, Janet and Lisa, to let them know she had arrived back in town. Both of the other girls had replied, Lisa indicating she was out shopping with her mom, while Janet was currently stuck waiting on a connecting flight in St. Louis. Megan typed in a response indicating she would see them both later that night and sent it off. Setting the phone back down on the table, she looked up just as her mother came in the door with another suitcase. "I think that is the last of them." Her mother said, setting the suitcase down near some of the others lined up in front of the closet in the room. Megan glanced around at the various suitcases and boxes that were now crowding her room. "Yeah, I think that's it." She confirmed moving over towards one of the suitcases on her bed. "Thanks for the help mom." "Of course dear." Her mother said, as she picked up one of the suitcases in front of the closet and moved over to set it on the bed. "I can help you start with the unpacking as well." Megan felt a slight feeling of panic grip her as she saw the suitcase her mom had selected. Inside, underneath a layer of workout clothes, were her Velocity costumes. "No need mom." The blonde stated, a little quicker than she meant too as she reached over to take the suitcase. She then added, "I'm a big girl now, besides, I need to think about what all I actually need to unpack right now. No point in unpacking it all when I will probably be moving most of it into a new apartment downtown soon." Her mother stopped for a moment, and nodded in agreement, letting go of the suitcase and sitting down on the bed as she looked up at Megan. "Are you sure about the apartment Megan? Your father and I would be perfectly happy with you staying with us." Megan gave her mother a warm smile. "I know mom, but I could easily end up working some odd hours during my externship. You and dad don't need to deal with me possibly coming and going at weird hours. But I won't be far, so we should see each other regularly enough." Erin Howell let out a small sigh as she stood up. "I know dear." She said as gave Megan another hug. "It is still just so hard to believe you are all grown up." Stepping back, she gave Megan a broad smile. "Your father and I are so very proud of you." There was a few moments pause before her mother continued, "well, I'll let you get started then. Let me know if you need my help with anything." After her mother has left the room, Megan let out another small sigh of relief. Glancing around the room, the blonde young woman knew that if she wanted, she could have everything unpacked and put away in little more than a blink of an eye. But as she had mentioned to her mother, there was little reason to unpack everything just to have to repack it again soon (even if that also would also only take a few seconds for her). No, the hard part was going to be to try to think of what she might want or need over the next few weeks. At the very least, the suitcase with her costume needed to be put out of sight.

Megan had almost made it to the tree to deposit the donations her mother had brought when a familiar voice called out. "Megan Howell!" Glancing in the direction of the voice, Megan spotted Thomas Keller, a drink in hand, emerging from the crowd, a smile on his face. Thomas had been in her class at North Bay Academy, and Megan recalled the party he had hosted aboard a yacht owned by his family for many in the Senior class following graduation. "Hi Thomas, it's great see you." The blonde replied with a warm smile of her own. "You look fabulous, as always." Thomas stated as he came up to Megan, leaning down slightly to give her a kiss on the check. Standing back up straight, he glanced down for a moment, before focusing back up to her eyes. "Though, I have to admit, I think I still prefer the North Bay cheerleading uniform." "Why thank you. You are looking great yourself." Megan replied, reaching up to softly smooth out one of the lapels on his suit. "You're up at Dartmouth, right?" She asked. "That's right, and you, I recall, are at Yale?" The two former classmates chatted briefly, before Megan excused herself to get the donations dropped off and Thomas spotted someone he wanted to be sure to talk with. Both promised to try to find the other again and catch up a bit more. Megan managed to cover the remaining distance to the tree without much problem and soon her mom's donations were added to the impressive collection already there. Finally! The blonde thought, as she turned away from the tree to regard the nearby crowd. Now it's time to find a drink and get back to socializing.

Megan Howell brought her red BMW X-5 to a stop in front of the three car garage of her parent's large home in one of the upscale neighborhoods of North Bay. Looking up at the home for a moment, the young blonde found it somewhat hard to believe it had only been a little over three years since she had left for college. While many might look back on that same time period and wonder how so much time could seem to have passed so quickly, Megan was certainly not one of those. In fact, Megan's perspective on the passage of time was a bit skewed. Following an accident during a fieldtrip to STAR Labs during her sophomore year in high school, Megan had developed superspeed, making her among the fastest people in the world. While zooming around as Velocity was exciting, it certainly made it difficult to not feel at times as if everyday life proceeded at a snail’s pace. Megan was pulled from her thoughts as she saw her mother come out of a side entrance of the house to greet her. The broad smile on her mom’s face cause the young blonde to smile herself as she climbed out of the SUV. "Welcome home honey." Erin Howell said in greeting as she wrapped her youngest daughter in a tight hug. "I hope the drive from Connecticut was not too painful?" "It wasn't too bad, but I am glad it's over and I am home." Megan replied, hugging her mom in return. Megan's mother stepped back slightly, but held on to Megan's upper arms and studied the young woman for a few moments. "So, how were finals?" She then asked as she released Megan's arms and started towards the back of the SUV to start helping to bring in Megan's luggage. "They went well, though I still have a take home exam that my professor gave us a little longer to work on." Megan replied, moving after her mother as the two began unloading the SUV. "Well, don't procrastinate on that dear." Her mother said as she took out a suitcase. "Don't worry mom, I am almost done, only a few things to finish up." The blonde young woman replied, rolling her eyes slightly.

Megan and her parents had made their way into the Society mansion, the warmth that greeted them as they crossed the threshold a welcome change from the cold night air. Classic holiday decorations graced the interiors of the mansion, helping to bolster the festive atmosphere of the season. Given the numbers of people just inside, either having just arrived themselves, or making their way from one part of the mansion towards another, Megan's father and mother did not get very far before they were stopping to talk with various people they knew. Choosing to remain with her parents for the time being, Megan stopped to join in the conversations as well. From time to time, the young woman would discreetly scan the crowd around them. Over the years she had dated a number of young men whose parents were members as well, and as it was likely she might run into a few of them, it never hurt to have a few moments to prepare for such an encounter. After a few stops, Megan noticed that they had managed to work their way in far enough that they were close the large Christmas tree set up near the central staircase, where the charity presents were being collected. After exchanging pleasantries with the current couple her parents were talking with, one of her father's clients, Megan excused herself, as she took the other bag of donations from her mother and started over towards the tree to deposit them.

The OCC for this thread. I have used the Midnight Society (from the FC book) in a number of prior posts with Velocity, the first being this thread. The IC is generally open, but characters would need to have reason to be a member of (or invited to) the Midnight Society, a private club that is described in the FC Book as having many of the city’s (and to an extent the country’s) wealthiest and most powerful individuals as members. Also, below are images of Megan’s dress (by Herve Leger).

The chill of winter had begun to settle over Freedom City, the night air now bearing the biting chill that would soon extend into the daytime. But even as winter arrived, the holiday season provided a festive atmosphere and energy to the city that helped to lessen the cold in the air. Throughout the city decorations and lights had gone up, giving the nighttime skyline a very different feel. The cold night air did not seem to dissuade the crowds in downtown Freedom as people went about their holiday shopping; or taking in the various decorations throughout the city; or, of course, attending holiday parties. Just such an event was taking place this evening, at the very edge of Midtown. There, along 52nd Avenue, just across from Liberty Park, stood the mansion of the Midnight Society. Dozens of luxury cars and limousines were making their way into mansion’s grounds, delivering many of the richest and most powerful individuals in Freedom City to the Society’s annual holiday party. The massive mansion was set back from the street, with stone walls sheltering its grounds from the sidewalk. Just inside the walls were large trees that had long since shed their leaves, and well maintained lawns and hedges. A large circular driveway lead to the front of the old stone mansion, which had several towers and peaked roofs. To the right of the front of the mansion was the entrance to its gardens, which stretched around the building to continue on beyond. The large building, and many of the trees and hedges along the front of the building, had been tastefully decorated with lights for the season. Waiting along the circular driveway near the mansion’s main entrance were a number of uniformed valets, though they hardly had time to consider the cold air as they were busy opening the doors of limousines to assist their passengers, or parking cars driven by arriving guests. A couple of those valets moved up to a dark blue Bentley as it came to a stop in front of the mansion. As one moved to open the front passenger door, the other opened the rear passenger door, holding out his hand to assist the young female occupant to exit. Megan Howell shivered slightly as she left the warmth of her father’s car and stepped into the cold December air. The blonde young woman looked up at the old mansion, lit up by both the lights set up along its walls and those arrayed in the grounds in front of it. Megan had missed the holiday party last year, as she had been studying in England, and her family had decided to spend the holidays in Switzerland, and so she had simply gone to join them there instead of returning to the States. Though she had been to an event or two since, there was still something special about the holiday party that stood out from most any other of the Society’s events. The sounds of conversation and laughter drifted out into the night air from the mansion. She was dressed in a sleek black V neck sleeveless evening gown. The dress was perfectly tailored to her lithe and athletic body. Tonight she had her long hair up in a side chignon, and around her neck was a platinum chain from which hung a deep red ruby. In one hand Megan was holding a shopping bag, which held several unwrapped articles of clothing that her mother had purchased as part of the Society’s charity drive for numerous needy families in the city. Lowering her eyes from the sight of the mansion, the twenty-one year old moved near her mother, as her father came over to join them. Dressed in a dark green evening gown, with a slightly more conservative neckline, Erin Howell was carrying another shopping bag filled with clothing to be donated. Donald Howell, dressed in a tailored Italian suit, smiled at his daughter. "Are you ready Megan? Tonight you will not be able to avoid the business conversations all night." He asked as they started towards the door. Megan gave her father a slight smirk, thinking back to past events she had attended at the Society with her parents throughout the years, where she dreaded enduring endless business and political discussions, and always sought out ways to avoid them. "Dad, I think I knew full well what I would be getting into when I started towards my economics major." She then replied with a small smile. "But, I certainly plan to do more than just listen to business conversations." She then added, her smile growing a bit broader.

No worries about not bringing that up before Supercape. As I have so many unspent points in that alt slot, that is a pretty easy fix. I have removed the limitation all together.

Okay Supercape, I think I have fixed all the things that needed to be fixed. Though, I am still thinking about more possible complications, but that could take awhile.

Thanks for the great comments Supercape. 1. I did talk a bit about what Velocity has been up to the last couple of years in the last two full paragraphs of her background, which basically amounts to focusing on college, keeping a low heroing profile and a year spent on an exchange program to study in the UK. 2. Hmm, not sure how Spinning’s problems have never come up before, but given those issues, I think I will drop it. (To be honest, I don’t think I have EVER used it, hehe). When I get home tonight I will try to find time to grab my UP book and come up with some other fun speedster trick to replace it with. 3. I can understand the concern. PP efficiency is certainly part of the reason, but a number of those feats are somewhat particular to the Strike power, but, as you say, not really all of them. I will take some freed up points (see 4 and 5 below) and move Defensive Attack, Elusive Target and Power Attack out of this power and get them as general feats. 4. No, not really, will drop it. 5. I will drop Attractive down to 1 rank. 6. Your probably right, I just took what was on my old sheet. I will correct. 7. I will get those corrected. The mistake with accuracy was just a typo (was typing most of the game mechanics stuff in the dark on my laptop while getting my 1 year old to sleep a couple of nights ago, and well, you know, that 9 key is right next to the 8 key). 8. Again, I understand your concern (for M&M games I ran (or even played in) on other sites, I was always irked by characters that had effectively zero base combat stats and bought it all through feats). Right now I kinda have to stay this way for PP efficiency reasons, but, my plan going forward is to improve BAB for any future PL increases, and possibly even just to increase it some and reduce the ranks of the Accuracy feat for the Strike. 9. Yes, they are kinda thin. I will try to come up with some more.

Okay, as was suggested, I have redone and posted a new thread for Velocity here. I think I got most of the formating right, though was having some problems with the DC code block

Velocity Power Level: 15 (243/250PP) [328] Trade-Offs: -2 Toughness/+2 Defense; -4 Damage/+4 Attack with Rapid Fire and Rapid Attack Unspent Power Points: 7 Old character sheet is >here. In Brief: Archetypical speedster. Alternate Identity: Megan Howell Identity: Secret Birthplace: Freedom City Occupation: Socialite Affiliations: Freedom League Reservist Family: Donald Howell (father); Erin Howell (mother); Samantha Howell (sister); Jason Howell (brother); Lawrence Harrow (son); Robert Harrow (fiance) Age: 22 (July, 1991) Gender: Female Height: 5' 5" Weight: 110 lbs Eyes: Blue Hair: Blonde (in costume wears a brunette wig) Megan has always been an attractive girl, one of those lucky ones who seemed to completely skip the awkward teenage stage. Now she has matured into a very stunning young woman, with a lean and tone body that still has plenty of curves. While she has long had a taste for the more expensive end of fashion, since attending Yale, she began wearing more moderately priced clothes around campus and has continued to do so in more general casual situations since returning to Freedom City. As Velocity, her costume is a yellow, form-fitting bodysuit with thin black and white checkered strips running down the arms and legs. She also wears yellow gloves and boots, and a small utility belt in which she carries a few things, such as steel ball bearings which she throws at supersonic speeds. In addition, she covers most of her head in a yellow mask, leaving only the lower part of her face exposed. To further conceal her identity, a brunette wig extends out of the back of the mask. Hi-tech, mirrored goggles cover her eyes and part of the upper half of her face. Power Descriptions: Megan has the ability to move at many times the speed of sound, her speed allowing her to run across water, up the sides of buildings, and even vibrate fast enough to pass through walls. Her speed goes beyond just movement, with Megan able to perform tasks that might take a normal person an hour in a few seconds. History: Megan is the youngest child of Donald and Erin Howell, both parents coming from old money families (Donald's is from Boston while Erin's is from Freedom City). Her father is currently the chair of the corporate law practice group of Hartford, Grayson & Cole, Freedom City's largest law firm. Her mother is a well known philanthropist, involved in a number of charitable foundations around the city. Megan grew up in North Bay, where her parents have a very large home. Her childhood years were filled with numerous gymnastics and dance classes, which lead her to cheerleading when she attended the exclusive private high school, North Bay Academy. Early in her Sophomore year, Megan was on a field trip to Astro Labs when a supervillain tried to steal some invention or another. During the chaos of the battle with a superhero that arrived to stop the theft, Megan was exposed to some chemicals which granted her superspeed. It was not long before Megan was using her new found powers to help people and fight crime under the identity of Velocity. While her activities were initially restricted to North Freedom and parts of downtown, in her Senior year of high school Velocity found herself involved in more and more encounters with supervillains. At the same time she began teaming up with more of the other superheroes in Freedom City, even having chances to work with some of the members of the Freedom League. After stumbling across a plot by the Tyranny Syndicate to replace various key and influential people in Freedom City with their duplicates from the Syndicate's dimension, Velocity teamed up with Raven to put a halt to the Syndicate’s plan, and in the process took down Johnny Speed, the Syndicate's version of Johnny Rocket. Velocity was extended an invitation to join the Freedom League and accepted the invitation, even as she finished high school and began attending college at Yale University. While easily able to quickly travel from New Haven to Freedom City when needed, the stress that being called away to missions, often in other parts of the world, placed on any attempt to have even a semblance of a "normal" college experience began to wear on Megan. She had herself placed on reserve status with the League, and briefly associated with a group of Freedom City based heroes, the Interceptors, but that proved short lived, as she soon choose to try to focus more on college. However, Megan soon found she could not so easily set aside her identity as Velocity. Attempting to live life at a more normal pace (save for studying) soon had Megan feeling as if she was going to go insane from boredom. Once again she began making outings as Velocity, generally basing her activities around New York City to keep any attention off New Haven. As most of these outings were random good deeds and non-superpowered crime stopping, it was easier to develop the balance in her life that had existed at the start of her career. Last year Megan had the opportunity to spend a year abroad, studying at the University of Cambridge. While in England, Megan reconnected with Robert Harrow, a young member of the British nobility with whom she had had a brief fling in Ibiza during her pre-college European vacation with a pair of high school friends. By Megan's standards, their renewed relationship was a long one, but it came to its inevitable end when Megan was unable to explain a several day absence when Velocity had been called up by the Freedom League to help with a mission. After finishing her year at Cambridge, Megan has returned to the United States, and is now in her last year at Yale. She managed to arrange that the bulk of her credits for her last semester at Yale would be covered by a internship with Summit Transnational Group’s corporate headquarters in Freedom City. She has a couple of seminars, which she mainly attends via teleconference, and really only has need to be up in New Haven once or twice a week. Personality & Motivation: Megan has always been something of an overachiever, exactly what one would expect given her highly successful parents, not to mention two accomplished older siblings. While certainly one to have fun when she can, Megan has a strong work ethic along with a desire to help others. Outgoing and confident, she has little trouble in most social settings. As Velocity Megan has a chance to cut loose and be more carefree and impulsive. Begin a superhero gave her the opportunity to stop bad guys, crack jokes while doing so, and help people along the way. While time and experience has tempered this with a bit more seriousness, she still presents an overly energetic and free spirited persona. Powers & Tactics: Speed is Megan's primary tactic, allowing her to almost always react before anyone else, make an attack, and be gone and out of sight before most would even realize she has even moved. Her powers provide her an array of offensive abilities, from being able to throw punches at supersonic speeds to being able to generate a localized sonic boom that can be rather destructive. While speed and agility are Megan's primary defense, she is much tougher than she looks, a side effect of her body having adapted to being able to move at such high speeds. Complications: Secret Identity: Megan has long sought to keep her identity as Velocity secret to protect those she cares about. Fear the Future: Megan has recently learned that in some timelines, she and Robert Harrow have a son named Collapse who is capable of shredding the time/space continuum. As Velocity, she has also run into agents from an organization in the future working to stop Collapse in as many timelines as possible. Relationship: Despite learning about Collapse, Megan and Robert Harrow have renewed their relationship. Well, as I stated, this was the processs suggested to me by Dr. Archeville, but, others have suggested I make a new character sheet as well, so am in the process of doing so. Thanks :)

Hello, I am a old player here, though I have not been very active for a few years for a number of reasons. I would like to have my character, Velocity, unarchived. My character sheet is here. Dr. Archeville thought it would be best to post here to have the character looked over to be sure everything is compliant with the current house rules for the site. Looking things over, the only thing I saw that could have been a problem is the changes made to Defensive Roll (which she has 2 ranks of). But, it is not really a problem for her, as she is PL 13, but is currently only at PL 12 caps. So with the house rules for Defensive Roll, her Toughness would be +11 (when she gets to use Defensive Roll) and her Defense is +15, meeting the PL 13 cap with -2 Tough/+2 Def tradeoff. Of course, I could have missed something else. I also have 12 unspent PP, and plan to spend at least some of those, as well as wanting to make a couple of small changes, with GM approval. First, the changes to what I currently have that I would like to make, if approved: I would like to drop a rank of Attractive (from 3 to 2), freeing up 1 pp. I would also like to drop the point of Equipment that was for a contribution to a player run supergroup I was only briefly part of, freeing up another pp. Here is what I would like to spend some of my unused power points on: 1) Spending 2 pp for +1 BAB (bringing it up to +5) to help her reach PL cap of +13 with her Strike power. 2) Spending another 2 pp to increase her Super Speed Array to 13 (26 pt reserve). This will increase her Strike power to Strike 13 (brining her attack/damage to the PL 13 cap). The Sonic Boom alt power will also increase to 13 ranks, as will the Spinning alt power. 3) Spending 3 pp on Saves, +1 to Fort, +1 to Reflex and +1 to Will power (making them +11 Fort, +14 Reflex and +8 Will) 4) Spending 2 pp in skills (for 8 ranks). Increasing the following skills: Acrobatics +2 (total ranks 14); Kn: Business +4 (total ranks: 7); Gather Information +2 (total ranks: 8) 5) Spending 1 pp to increase her Speed power to 9 ranks (which can go up to 11 ranks when using one of her speed array alt powers). 6) Spending 1 pp to increase her Quickness power to 9 ranks (also making it 11 ranks when using an alt power in the array) 7) Spending 1 pp to increase her Enhanced Feats power to 13 ranks total, adding another rank of Improved Initiative (for 9 ranks total) That will cover the 12 unspent pp I currently have, and, depending on GM approval for the changes to what I currently have that I would like to make, I might have 2 left unspent in the end. I look forward to getting involved in some stories here once again.

Well, leaving for the beach in less than an hour. See you all Sunday.

Velocity had been about to make a reply to Blink and Colt’s questions about what sort of strings might be attached to what they where being offered when Doktor Archeville choose to revel himself and give some more direct explanations. Most of this the speedster had heard already when he had spoken with her earlier (much earlier) in the morning. As the conversation turned to promises of compensation that had been made in their invitations, the speedster remained silent. When they had spoken before, she had quickly told the Doktor that she would not be expecting any compensation for her participation with the group, after all, she hardly needed the money. But she knew well enough that not everyone was as fortunate as she was in that regard, and that many heroes who risked their lives everyday also had to find ways to balance their activities with earning a livelihood. While some might view the stipend the Doktor was offering as making those willing to take it mercenary, Velocity did not see it as such, after all, there were more than a few heroes who took full advantage of their fame with corporate endorsements and the like. When Blink made her comment about having someone willing to talk to the media, the speedster smiled. “I think we have a few that are more than happy to deal with the press, no need to worry about that.†“But like Colt said, everyone here is free to leave if they decide to.†She added, addressing another of the Russian woman’s concerns. Facing back towards the view screen, the speedster added. “Well Doc, I told you when we talked before that I would think things over, and I have. While I know the work the Freedom League does is important, right now the traipsing around the world (and potentially into space) is not what I need in my life. Being able to focus ‘locally’ on problems is better for me. So I’ll tell Captain Thunder to place me on the reserve list.â€Â

Fine by me.

I think yours fits well. I was going to post a response to Blink, but I'll wait.

And in the time it took me to go to the library to post the above (and my IC post) and the grocery store, COMCAST got things back up :)
-
Sigh, COMCAST decided to do some work outside our house, so the internet is down. Don't know when it will be back up. Velocity is taking 10 with Gather Information on Jack and everyone else (thanks to Well Informed). Also, so everyone knows, tomorrow afternoon, we are heading to the Oregon Coast until Sunday afternoon, so I won't have any internet access (hopefully COMCAST will have things fixed before I go so I can post more later today and tomorrow morning). If not, see you all when I get back. Thev
