Actually, there were a number of wars they fought after becoming kings and queens. If you read the book A Horse and His Boy, they talk about Peter being off campaigning against some giants that were causing troubles. Plus they fought other wars. Though the movie makes it seem otherwise, there are actually other humans in Narnia (they appared with Edmund, Lucy and Susan during their guest apperances in A Horse and His boy) as well as humans in other nearby kingdoms. Two of these were centeral to the story in A Horse and HIs Boy, one is Calormen, which is very closely patterned after the Ottoman Empire and other Middle Eastern midevil empires. They were a far larger empire that bordered Narina and one Calormene prince was looking to make Susan his bride, and was the primary antagonist in A Horse and His Boy. Calormenians return in The Last Battle as the bad guys again. Another kingdom was Archenland, which was on Narnia's Northern border and allied with Narnia. The Calormene prince led an invasion of Archeland in the book as aprt of his plot to capture Susan, and Edmund and Lucy led Narnian troops (which included humans as well as the "normal" mythical creatures) to help Archenland repel he invasion. A Horse and His Boy is actually my favorite of the Narnia books, but I am not sure they will ever make it a movie. And as for Lucy's curing potion, it can't bring the dead back to life, but otherwise it can pretty much cure anything. If you have a mortal wound, but haven't died yet, it can heal you (like it healed Edmund in the first movie). And it actually can run out. In the book Prince Caspian, just after the dwarf met the kids at the ruins of their old palace, he twisted his ankle, and Lucy said that her potion could easily heal it, but Peter had ordered her (when they ruled Narnia) only to use it for serious injuries, precisely becaue it could be used up.

I thought it was very good, though it departed from the story quite a bit more than the first movie. First, your wrong on a few things, first, both Peter and Edmund are much older than eight. But as to being younger than grown men and being able to out fight them, your thinking in reality too much. The whole thing about Narnia (metioned somewhat in the books) is that there is something magical about Narnia, and the children are able to do much more than they can in the real world. There is also the fact that Edmund and Peter (and the girls) spent well over a "decade" as kings and queens the first time they were in Narnia, and both Peter and Edmund recieved a lot of fencing and fighting training (and even fought in many wars). In the book, they children were in Narnia a day or two before meeting the dwarf, and they commented about their old strenght and skills returning, so they basically had all their decade plus of traning and experience to call upon, even though they were still "children". Bascially, its the magic of the area, they just don't explain that fully in the movie. PS: Looked things up on Wikipedia. In the books, Edmund was 11 in the real world during Prince Caspian, Peter was about 16-17. During their time as Kings and Queens, they ruled for 15 years in Narnia, so they had 15 years of experience.

The next morning the girls had been up early and eaten, then taken a taxi over to the train station. After boarding their train, they found some good seats where they could sit across from each other and look outside at the countryside they passed by. The train ride took about two hours, with the girls taking short naps, or just talking about ideas on how to begin their visit to London after they checked in to their hotel. For Megan the trip seemed to take a lot longer than it should. The fact that last night she had covered far more ground in less time, with stops, likely played a big part. But for course, even though she could travel around far faster, she could not do that with her friends, nor could she carry much in the way of luggage with her either. She would just have to be used to more normal modes of transportation for much of this trip. Finally they reached London, the train pulling into London Paddington Station. Gathering their bags from where they had stowed them in overhead racks, the girls debarked, and started making their way through the busy train station, looking around at the sights as the did. “Hey there is the way down to the ‘Tube.†Lisa stated as she pointed off towards one section of the large station. Megan looked over in that direction and then back at the others. “You know, we could try taking the underground. There is a station only a few blocks from our hotel.†“No, not now.†Janet complained. “I don’t want to have to lug this luggage onto a subway. Lets just take a cab for now. I am sure we’ll have plenty of chances to ride the underground over the next few days.†Megan reluctantly nodded, knowing Janet was likely right on how much trouble it could be, it still would be interesting to give it a try she thought. But she followed along with her friends as they made their way out of the station and managed to flag down a cab. After loading all their things into the trunk and climbing into the back, Lisa gave the driver their destination. “The Park Lane hotel please.†With that they were off into the busy streets of London. “Wow, I’m so glad we aren’t doing any driving ourselves, I couldn’t get used to this driving on the opposite side of the road.†Janet commented as she looked out the window at the traffic filled streets. “I bet it is not so bad.†Lisa said with a smile. “Particularly when it’s busy like this, you just have to follow along after everyone else. If there were less cars it would likely be easier to forget which side your supposed to be on.†“Maybe, I still wouldn’t want to give it a try.†Janet replied. “To bad they don’t have those double decker buses in use anymore.†Megan commented as she looked out the window at the traffic. “Doesn’t quite feel like London without seeing those everywhere.†The cab continued through the streets of the city, the girls looking about at places they passed as Lisa tried to figure out where various things were on the map so they might be able to come back to them later if they wanted to. Eventually they pulled onto a street that ran along a large park. This was when the driver slowed down and then pulled up to a large white building that spread along the block and looked out towards the park. Janet looked out the window at the hotel as the pulled in front of it and commented, “This place looks a bit stuffy.†“I’m sure its fine.†Megan commented “It is a five star hotel.†“And it is perfectly located.†Lisa added. “That is Green Park across the street. Buckingham Palace is just on the other side of that. And just down this street is Piccadilly Circus, where there is tons of shopping. And near that is Leicester Square and the National Gallery.†“Okay, I get the point.†Janet replied with a smile. “Well, lets go get checked in and get our things together so we can get out there and start seeing some of those sights.â€Â

Well, hopefully these guys have really low defense. If that hits and if she takes the first guy down, she will use takedown attack to get to anotehr one within 5 feet, if there is one. If not (or if she misses), she will move by a couple hundred feet and stop.

“You just had to go a ruin a perfectly slow, rainy day.†Velocity commented as she sped towards the first of the gun men, swinging her fist out at the base of his jauw with a blur of motion.
-
Velocity was more than happy to let discussion of artificial life fall off as they focused on a discussion of how to prepare for the demonstration. "I can get people in to Freedom Hall and the Wreck Room as well." She stated, nodding to Emissary. "So that should provide more opportunity for some of us to meet there to practice a bit." Velocity smiled at the small hero as he ran over by her. "Sure Rusty, if you think you can keep up."

Later that evening, Megan made her way out of her room and down the hall to the stairs that led to the private gardens that the hotel had access to behind the Royal Crescent. Lisa and Janet had long since gone to sleep, resting up for their day of traveling tomorrow. But the blonde teen had adjusted to the time difference within a day of their arrival, and was feeling rather well rested, after all, she had a far better constitution than people would expect. Tonight she had decided to get out a bit in costume and see a bit more of the Southern parts of England. Thought it would not be the same as seeing it all by the day, it would still be nice to “stretch her legs†a bit. Moving back to a shadowy area of the gardens, the teen took out the small container that Deadalus had given her to help hide her costume in. Holding it up, she triggered the device, releasing her costume. In a blur of motion the human eye could not follow, she was changed into her Velocity costume, her normal clothes put into a small backpack she had on her back. Megan stretched slightly, feeling the movements of the morphic molecule costume follow her every movement. It was odd, but in the last few years since she had obtained her powers and this costume from the Atom’s family, it had been rare for her to go more than a day or two without putting it on. Pushing the though aside, the young speedster took of in a blur of motion, passing through the wall of the gardens as she headed out into the night. She first headed South, where she made her way to the town of Salisbury. As she went through the town, she was sure to slow down to below the speed of sound, so as to not create any inadvertent sonic booms. In such a small town, they would likely attract far more attention than they would in Freedom City. Her first stop was to get a look around Salisbury Cathedral. It was a rather impressive structure, and Megan hoped that by the end of the trip seeing places like this would not start becoming so common as to be uninteresting. She continued through the town, getting a look at the market square, which she was sure would be a lot more interesting during the day when it was active and other parts of the town. Continuing on, she continued to head South, heading for the Southern Coast of England. There she reached the town of Bournemouth. This town was much larger than either Bath or Salisbury, probably more than both combined. It also had a lot of interesting sights, including a long stretch of beach[/ur]. Megan stopped near the beach to look out at the ocean, the sounds of the water hitting the shore in the darkness somewhat soothing. She had tried to convince Janet and Lisa that they should stop by here for a bit, but had been outvoted. Though the blonde teen could not help but agree that the beaches they would be visiting later would be much warmer. Continuing on, she went to several other locations in the Southwester part of the England. She visited the ruins of Sandsfoot Castle in Weymouth and then visited Parliament Street, the narrowest street in the world, located in Exeter, before heading on to stop in the small town of St. Ives, located out on the western tip of the England. Megan wished she had more time to see many of these places, but there just seemed to be too much to see, or at least see and really enjoy. She could easily spend the rest of the summer here, but that would prevent her from getting to any of the other exciting places her and her friends had on their itinerary. Sighing slightly as she turned away from the waterfront of St. Ives, she promised herself that someday she would come back and see more of these places. She then began her trip back to Bath to get some sleep for their trip to London in the morning.

The likely unintended sexual innuendo of Gossamer's statement was not lost on Velocity, and the teen speedster was certain it hadn't been lost on many of the males in the room either. But she quickly found herself focusing on the fact the older woman was able to lengthen her hair a considerable distance, and apparently could extend it even further. "Wow, that's cool." She said as she looked at the extended strands of hair. "But is it a pain to take care of? I mean, if your using it to stop criminals and the like, it has to get really dirty." The rest of the group then began discussing the practicing together for the simulated combat during the event and then about robots. The teenage speedster smiled and nodded in agreement with Captain Wonder. "Yeah, robots can be a bit of a pain. Couple weeks ago I had to trash half a dozen adaptive robots a professor at HIT was working on because a group of third-rate villains had taken control over them. Thankfully I was able to take them out before they fully copied my speed or other abilities."

Velocity laughed at Grim's fake announcer speech and the thought of some signal shining on one of the towers of Pyramid Plaza to alert her to trouble. "Yeah, we will certainly exchange cell numbers." She replied. "I have my phone on all the time when in costume, and usually check it pretty regularly when I'm not, so I should be able to get back to you pretty quick." She followed along with Grim back to the other room, moving at a more normal speed as she did.

After the tour left Avebury, they stopped for lunch at a pub in the countryside that according to the tour bus driver had held a liquor license from the crown since the 14th Century. From there the tour had continued on to first stop at Lacock Village, a small village that looked like you were stepping back into the 18th Century, as none of the builds were more modern than that. The site had in fact been used as the set for numerous period movies, and had also been used in the Harry Potter films. The last stop of the day was in another village, Castle Combe. The tour bus parked up near the Market Cross, the center of the village that dated back to the Fourteenth Century. Megan and the others spent the time they had walking through the small town and taking some pictures of the area. Later that evening, they were back in bath, and the three girls were having dinner at a small Indian restaurant near their hotel. “Well, tomorrow we are off for London.†Janet said excitedly. “Yeah, I think I’ve had enough relaxing in the countryside.†Lisa replied. “How long is the train ride?†“Not much more than an hour and a half.†Megan replied. “You guys thought about what we might want to do that afternoon after checking in at our hotel?†“Yeah, how about we try to get one of the stops at an art gallery out of the way?†Janet replied. “Maybe the National Gallery?†“Yeah, that would be a good one to do.†Megan nodded in agreement. “It’s not too far from our hotel either.†“We can try to do a bit of shopping as well.†Lisa added. “Well, we are going to need some outfits for one of our nightlife outings in London.†Megan replied with a smile.

Velocity chuckled at Emissary's comments about the planned group performance. She could imagine that it would be a real crowd pleaser to be sure. "Wouldn't really expect much else Emissary. Sounds like it will be a fun time."
-
Yeah, probably just best to wrap things up here.
-
Velocity looked down at the map a moment, taking in everything in far less than a second. She then looked back up at Emissary as he explained some of the things he would be doing. She needed to talk to him about the "problem" she was going to have, seeing as her mother had helped a great deal in arranging some of this, particularly top corporate donors. The teenage speedster was going to have to do some switching between being Velocity and being Megan Howell during the event. When Captain Wonder made his suggestion, she chuckled slightly. "I could totally help with a kissing booth, though that wouldn't really be something the kids would be that into. And I can spend time giving out autographs as well."
-
Velocity was glad that Grim seemed to calm down, feeling a bit bad about having to talk to her in such a stern manner, but also feeling a bit justified in defending herself. The speedster was still preferred that things were appearing to be less tense now. When Grim further explained why she acted the way she had, Velocity could not help but understand a bit where the other girl was coming from, having spent a lot of time acting on her own with no one to really talk to about the things in her hero identity. These thoughts had her not immediately react to Grim, who then quickly left to the other room. Before she could follow after Grim, Nightrival spoke up. Velocity gave him a smile as he apologized about Grim's outburst. "No worries, she is clearly dedicated to helping make a difference. I also understand some of her feelings." "And of course you can keep my number, that was part of the other reason I came tonight. I figured we could help each other out at times." The speedster looked back over at the door Girm had gone though and then back over to Nightrival. "So yeah, I'd be happy to be a contact for you guys with the League. Now, I think I might go see if she's okay, and talk a bit." Then, with a blur of motion, Velocity moved over into the other room where Grim was getting herself some food. "Hey there." She said, giving Grim a friendly smile. "No need to worry about things, I understand, things can get pretty stressful when your risking your life." She stopped a moment and looked at the table before looking back at Grim. "I also understand some of where your coming from. For most of the time I've had my powers I have not had anyone to talk with about them and the things I was doing as Velocity." ""It has always been tough keeping secrets from my friends and family, and I am pretty sure that this has been a contributing factor to ending more than one relationship. So, while I might not be able to be around all the time, I am always available to talk to if you need it."
-
Well, Velocity was going to use full defense if they drew weapons, so she's done for the round.

And just to be complete, here is her mom's dress:

Megan's Dress:

Megan Howell was riding in the back of her father’s Bentley as they made their way through Bayview. Bayview was not quite what it had once been, but this part of the area was still very nice. The Beaudrie family estate was not too far from where they currently were, and Megan and her family had been to more than a few parties hosted by Mrs. Beaudrie. Her parents were up in the front talking a bit about this Sir Ashcroft, and what little they had been able to learn about him. Megan had learned a few things as well, mainly just rumors that she had overheard at a recent party at the North Bay Yacht Club. If this Sir Ashcroft was here in Freedom City for some business ventures, it made a great deal of sense that he would invite her father to this party, after all he was a senior partner at Hartford, Grayson & Cole in the firm’s corporate department. Donald Howell Sr. had worked on some of the largest M&A deals in the city, as well as around the world. “And here we are.†Megan heard her father say, causing her to look out the window. The blonde teen looked at the massive home as it better came into view and almost felt like they were going back in time. A considerable amount of money had to have been spent in decorating the home in such a medieval fashion. Apparently her mother was thinking the same thing. “A bit on the overly extravagant side.†Erin Howell commented. “Well, he is from England dear.†Megan’s father replied. “If his family is part of the nobility, this is likely just helping to make him feel a bit more at home. Besides, I am sure many would say we tend to be overly extravagant with things.†Her father pulled the silver Bentley up in front of the house, where a chauffer moved over to open the doors for Megan’s mother and then Megan, helping both women out as well. Donald Howell was wearing a well tailored tuxedo. Erin Howell was in a light blue dress, the long skit (which went all the way to just an inch or so above the floor) was smooth and pattern less, while the top portion, was embroidered and had a V neck line. The sleeves went to the middle of her forearms, and were sheer. Megan was in a silver halter dress by Dolce & Gabbana, the skirt going to just above the knees of her shapely legs, and the crisscrossing halter leaving her shoulders almost entirely bare. She was wearing a pair of silver heeled sandals by Dior, along with Dior jewelry. The Howell’s made their way inside the house, following after the butler as he led them in. Once inside, Megan followed along with her parents as they moved through the foyer, looking up at the large domed ceiling for a few moments before focusing back on the rest of the décor. Her parents moved towards some other guests that they knew and Megan followed along as well, smiling as she went.
-
Fifty feet does make more sense, it is still larger than the rest of the house (and thus dramatic) but not overly so. You can still rocket off through the dome with that height Anyway, I'm working on my post right now, just taking a bit of time at the moment as I am in a bar review lecture.
-
Also, a 100' tall foyer is rather unreasonably high. At 12-15 feet per floor, that is anywere from an 8 to 6 story building. It is unlikely the rest of the house is more than three stories, so it would be rather disportionate. Anyway, Megan's Gather Info Check is a 27.
-
Well, if you read Barnum's description of the wealth feat, it is supposed to cover your TOTAL lifestlye. But I guess your explanation does make sense (and you do have that benefit). As to Gather Information, you forget the Well Informed feat, which lets you make Gather Info checks on the spot. And my character does have the feat.
-
You forgot Gather Information, that skill should provide informaiton on Sir Ashcroft as well. It might even provide information with a lower roll than a knowledge check. And by the way, the descrption of the grounds sounds far beyond the lifestyle that someone with only two ranks of wealth could afford (have you read the descriptions of the lifestyles that come with the ranks of wealth in the rules?) You might want to look at the descriptions in this thread on the wealth feat.

Velocity listened to Hub's response, noting his Texan accent towards the end of his comments. But then the other girl stood up and to the teenage speedster's surprise, her comments were directed at her, asking why she even bothered to show up. But the other girl did not stop there, she began to really act as if Velocity's choice was some sort of major copout and not good enough. This Grim was pretty worked up about things, and Velocity could not help but wonder if it had to be more than just saying she couldn't really commit to the team Nightrival wanted to form. The teen speedster felt her jaw clinch slightly as some adrenaline flowed due to the tense situation. She had not come here to be screamed at by some girl that seemed to think you had to sacrifice all else to be considered pulling your weight. She wondered what this girl would think if she knew of the plot to replace hundreds of key business and political leaders that Velocity had recently helped disrupt, but of course she couldn't tell her that, for that was being kept secret. Keeping her exterior calm, Velocity waited till Grim was done, and Nightrival had come up behind her. "Well, first off, I came here because I felt that it was polite to explain things to Nightrival in person. There is also the fact that just because I am not able to commit to this, it is always good to learn who some of the others working out there are." "As for turning the tide and making a difference, I have been in this costume, or one somewhat smaller, for three years now, out as much as I can be. I stopped my first bank robbery before I could drive, and have stopped more than a dozen since. I've fought all sorts of other criminals, and even go out when I can and try to help people with my powers in ways that don't involve beating people up. I've also fought more than a few superpowered opponents, and I know just how difficult they can be for the police to handle. So I have made the choice on how I feel I might be best able to help, and that is by working with the Freedom League." "As for my decisions regarding the part of my life that does not involve wearing this costume, I really don't care what you think of the choices I have made there."

I've been waiting for MarkK's reply :)

After the group had finished at Stonehenge, they made their way back to the tour bus, and started off towards their next destination. Lisa was fully awake now, and talking none stop with Megan as they went, pointing out various sights as they went by and taking pictures of them, of Megan and of Janet. The tour guide continued to point out things as they passed by. Some time later, they were approaching a small little village in the countryside. Along the road towards the village were several large stones that seemed to be purposely arranged along the open grassy areas outside the village. In addition, there were more stones that were clearly arranged in circles in other parts of the area around the village. The tour bus parked in the village, and their driver led them out towards the fields where the massive stones were arranged. As they went he explained that they were in the village of Avebury, which is the site of henge far larger and older than that of Stonehenge, with several small circles within the larger henge. “Starting back in about the Fourteenth Century, many of the stones were destroyed by locals to be used as building materials. There was also a fear of persecution from the church for allowing what was viewed a heathen site to be around the village, so many of the other stones were tiled over into holes dug near them and buried.†The guide said. “There are concrete markers where stones used to stand, but are now gone.†He then continued. “Many of the stones you see are ones that have been dug up and set back upright. There are a few that are replacements however. Many believe there could be more stones still buried.†“Quite a few pegan and Wiccan festivals are now held here throughout the year, the coming Summer Solstice being a particularly large affair.†The driver then left the passengers to wonder around through the stones some, telling them to meet back within the hour. The three girls started off towards more of the stones, most of which completely dwarfed them. Megan was just taking a picture of some when Janet leaned over towards her and Lisa. “Don’t look now, but the hormonal kid is gawking at us again.†She said quietly. Megan finished taking her picture and then lowered her camera, but not looking over in the direction Janet had just glanced. “Well, I’d say it isn’t a big surprise. Besides, you’d probably feel insulted if he didn’t keep looking.†Lisa and Janet both giggled slightly at the comment as they continued through the stone ring they were looking over. “Well, that may be true.†Janet commented. “But I am looking forward to getting to meet some cute guys that are at least our age soon.†“Yeah, the night life in Bath is pretty lacking.†Lisa commented. “We didn’t come to Bath for the night life.†Megan observed. “Besides, I am sure there is some somewhere, we just haven’t looked hard enough.†Janet laughed again. “Maybe. At least there will be a lot more in London.†“That’s for sure.†Lisa said in agreement.
