Megan hardly slowed as she continued. “I think I’ve seen enough to know I’m not interested in FC. So I’m heading home.†She called out over her shoulder.

Being able to make a second PL 10 character would be nice. Though, not sure if I would do so at this point, but I might be tempted :)

Velocity moved over as Emissary managed to subdue the wild Legionnaire, noting the tone with which Captain Wonder spoke. She could only feel a bit of amazement at seeing and hearing him, he did seem so much the living legend that he was. “Yeah, I can go along.†She managed to say. She looked down at the unconscious man and had to wonder about him. From what little she knew of the Romans, their legions were supposed to be highly disciplined, something this man seemed completely the opposite of.

Velocity would be interested. She will be going to college out of town in the Fall, but...seeing as she can be most anywhere in the US in a bit less than half an hour, that wouldn't be too big an issue :)

Velocity smiled as Raven told her she did a good job in beating Johnny Speed. The yellow clad speedster then looked around at the stasis pods as she replied. “Stasis pods. Apparently Speed here was involved with some sort of plan to replace important individuals with duplicates.â€Â

Just great. Megan thought as she watched the boys with the backpacks start heading towards different parts of campus in small groups. While there could still be an innocent explanation for their behavior, it was really looking less and less likely. The big question now was which group to follow first. Considering for a brief moment, she started after the group that was heading towards one of the dorm buildings. If they were up to no good, she could quickly be changed and try to deal with them. Then she could head towards the other two buildings to stop those groups as well.

I have just launched a thread for Velocity’s summer vacation to Europe. I am hoping that a couple of GMs would be interested in helping run some small things for her during the course of the trip. I wouldn’t expect anything too soon, but figured I would put this up for any GMs to see if any of the stops along the way would be of interest to them to plan something for. Right now, the tentative itinerary for Velocity and her friends is as follows: England: Bath (and the surrounding countryside- which includes Stonehenge and Avebury Circle)/London France: Paris/French Riviera Spain: Barcelona and the countryside Ibiza Italy: Milan/Rome/Naples. Greece (maybe): Athens and some of the Greek Islands

Megan Howell was with her parents just before the security checkpoint in Jordan International Airport. The blonde teenager had a small shoulder bag, her ticket and passport, and was ready to go. Her mother looked a bit nervous, but was smiling, her dad was smiling as well, and likely just doing a better job of hiding any nervousness at the fact that his youngest daughter was getting ready to head to Europe for a couple of months with two of her high school friends. “You girls be sure to watch out for each other.†Erin Howell said as she gave Megan a hug. “Don’t worry mom, we will.†Megan replied as she hugged her mother back. Nearby, her friends, Janet and Lisa, were having similar goodbyes with their parents. Their parents seemed to have some similar concerns about three girls in their late teens running around Europe together, but seemed resigned to the fact that they had agreed to let them go on this post-graduation trip. After a farewell hug with her father and a promise to send some emails and call from time to time, Megan headed over towards the security line, meeting up with Janet and Lisa as she did. Excitement was clear on both the other two girls’ faces as they got in line with Megan, giving their parents yet another goodbye wave. “This is going to be so awesome!†Lisa exclaimed. “I know that flying overnight so we got to London in the morning seemed like a good idea a few months ago, but right now I am so excited I don’t know if I will be able to sleep!†Megan smiled at the other girl. “It might be easier than you think. But if you can’t, we have the first day there to rest and recover anyway, so no big deal. After that though, we will be moving at pretty high gear.†“I am looking forward to it.†Janet added. The security line seemed to take forever, as they often did. Megan tried not to think too much about the possibility of them finding her Velocity costume. Deadalus had provided her a means of camouflaging it so that she could get it through security, just in case she needed it. The blonde teen really hoped she would not, but she had been a hero for too long to not be prepared, just in case things did not go as planned. Once they were finally through security, the three girls made their way towards the most expensive restaurant in the terminal for dinner. A few hours later, they were seated in the first class section of a British Airways 747. As she sat back in the soft leather chair, Megan glanced over at Lisa, who did seem to almost be bouncing in her seat. The blonde smiled, hoping her friend was able to get some sleep tonight. Though they could take things easy tomorrow some, there was no sense in wasting a day if they could avoided it. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the captain announcing they were done with boarding and the plane began to pull away from the gate.

That all sounds pretty good Warmonger. One thing about the Power Corps though, is they could prove a bit tough for Grim (I have had to fight one of them with a PL 6 character (and one that was boosted to above PL 6 caps even) and I lost badly.) So might be best if we come up with something that is a combination of tougher oppoents and not quite as tough opponents.

"I used to worry about it more." Megan admitted. "But I have learned a bit about superhuman powers from various sources over the years. It is pretty rare for a meta's powers to be harmful to them. But I am mindful of any signs that things might be hurting me."

“The Midnight Hour is in Riverside, it is an underage club. It is okay, but gets old after awhile.†Velocity replied. “Just be wary when a guy wants to invite you back to a VIP room.â€Â

Velocity glanced up towards the sound of the voice, expecting to see Robert. “Seems like you did.†She replied. She then focused back on her opponent, and started to quickly look for something to tie him up with.

Thanks, just luck of the rolls.

Megan smiled slightly again. "Well, those make sense. After all, it's possible if you use your powers for too long a time, you could cause an imbalance in the world's weather patterns. Who knows what effect that could have."

Velocity had been paying little attention to what was going on in the other parts of the gym, as, despite her teasing, she was having to focus a good deal on the obstacle course she and Emissary were traversing. At the sound of the automated voice, she stopped what she was doing, coming to a halt in a handstand above the bar she had just swung up to. Looking down, she saw the scene between Legionnaire and Mongrel Angel, and heard Raven’s voice over the loud speakers. Normally, she could have been the first one there to try to do something, but being above the ground as she was, she could not rush down to the scene. Instead, she swung down from the handstand, dropping down to the floor. She had to wait for gravity to pull her down, a feeling that seemed far to slow to her. In that time, Emissary had been able to fly over and try to grapple Legionnaire. Velocity landed lightly, and waited to see what happened and if Emissary needed any help, which she rather doubted.

Velocity continued her acrobatic path through the arial maze, finishing the first pass as she heard the metal clanging alongside from Emissary. She smiled slightly as they finished their first pass and began the second, the maze shifting and becoming more difficult. The yellow clad speedster grasped a bar as she soared through the air, swinging down through the bottom and as she started around the opposite side, she released the bar. As her momentum carried her up into the air, she tucked her knees in, and executed half a rotation so her upper body was now in the lead. Opening back up, her hands reached up as she grabbed another bar. Managing a glance over at Emissary, she called out, “Might want to turn up the difficulty a bit more.†She said with a smile.

Megan was not sure about telling Kizzy exactly where she went to school. She listened as the new girl, Lynn, talked about being a runaway and having dropped out of school. The speedster then replied, “Yeah, I just finished up school in North Freedom. In the fall I will be heading off to college.â€Â

Back to the training, I didn't think we could take 10 for this, but if that's the case, then Velocity gets a 28 on her next round I'll try to post IC tomorrow.

Nariek, when you use a hero point in this way, you have to reroll the toughness save (you don't automatically get to ignore the damage). The benefit, is the lowest you can roll is a 10. (ie, if you roll a 1-9, you add 10 to that, so a roll of 3 becomes a roll of 13, to which you add your toughness bonus of +6).

Megan smiled. "Even I can't be everywhere, and certainly not all the time." She then nodded as he talked about the feeling of need to help people. "Yes, there is a lot of responsibility that comes with having powers. But one way I look at things is that by leading my own life, as much as I can, I am prepared in case something happens, such as if I lose my powers. We cannot feel responsible for every little thing that happens, for that will drive you crazy." When he asked about what she would be studying, she shrugged slightly. "I don't know yet what I might focus on. It will depend on what draws my interest. Might be economics, might be something else."

Nareik, I would point out that you have power attack, so it is possible to hurt her.

Well, that is a different situation. I guess one question though is whether Ronin has a reputation as a criminal (or is wanted for any crimes)? Velocity has the Well Informed feat, so when she sees, she is technically allowed to make a Gather Information feat to see what she might know. (I didn't roll when meeting the others as Grim is in her secret ID, and I rather doubt Well Informed would really help know much about bike messengers (unless your an office administrator that uses them a lot and have heard about this new messanger from some other office admins ) and Kizzy doesn't seem to have much in way of a reputation set up either (though I guess I should roll to see if Velocity heard about the Dryad incident )

Megan follows along with the tour, starting to get really bored now. As they stepped outside, she took a small umbrella out and looked around at the sights. So far, there was less and less to interest her in Freedom College. As they drew close to their destination, she noted some of the things going on around them. One of the nice things about her powers, was she was able to take note of many things in far less time than it would take a normal person to observe them. Not to mention she could process the information faster. Looking over at the group near the students playing frisbee, she noted several things in a fraction of a second. Group of young men all wearing baseball caps, or sunglasses or both….Nothing too unusual, save for the rain and sunglasses. Same group of young men all seeming to be unobtrusively looking around at what was going on….Again, not particularly unusual. There were tour groups with girls walking around, so checking out the girls could be an explanation. Same group of young men all wearing identical, cheap, tacky and apparently brand new backpacks….Very likely they all could have bought the backpacks at the school store (and if that was the case the store needed some fashion consulting). But all of them buying the same backpacks at roughly the same time? Despite what people say about speedsters generally, Megan was not particularly impulsive (when it takes one a second to reflect on issues, weigh options and come to a decision that might take a normal person a few minutes reach, it can look a lot like impulsiveness), but she had been an active superhero for almost three years now. In this town, she had learned that very often, the combination of several seemingly innocuous things could mean trouble. After deciding that these guys with the backpacks might be up to something (a decision that took less than a second), Megan started to slow down slightly, hoping to fall back from the group and get somewhere where she could watch them unobtrusively herself.

As fast as Kiera talked, Velocity was easily able to keep up. “Can’t you do both at the same time?†Velocity replied with a grin. “And hopefully the cute boys don’t turn out to be the criminals.†She then quickly added. At this the speedster shrugged slightly. “It’s not that hot out yet. If I were really exerting myself it would be a bit hot to wear.â€Â

Well, he got two good rolls in a row, I got two good rolls in a row The natural 18 for the attack roll is a critical hit (as Velocity's strike has two ranks of Improved Critical). So Speed has a DC 32 toughness save! :shock:
