“I think that’s what Lady Liberty calls you.†Velocity replied, keeping her composure cool despite the fact that she seemed to be in some trouble. “And if she was here, I’m sure she’d smack that grin right off your face. Since she isn’t, I guess I’ll have to do that.â€Â

Velocity looked up at the massive construct of gymnastics equipment as Envoy mentioned what their work out would involve. She smiled slightly as she looked back at the silver man. “Okay, that looks like it could be fun. Though, I would mention I had a good amount of gymnastics training before I gained my speed, and have only gotten better.â€Â

Velocity looked at the jet that touched down for them. “Yep, that seems to be it.†She said in agreement, though she knew she could get back about as fast, though she might make a few wrongs turns and end up in Dayton Beach. Though, that might not turn out so bad. She then heard him mention getting together for coffee and looked back over him, regarding him for a brief moment (which would have been very brief to him). She smiled. “Sure, that sounds nice. We’ll have to do that sometime.â€Â

Velocity looked at this man dressed as Johnny Rocket, and who seemed to move as quickly as he did and tensed slightly. She did not know where he was looking at her certainly was out of character for the other speedster hero. “Thanks.†She said flatly at his lewd comment about her costume. “If I were you, I would clear out of here, for Robert and I were just on our way to meet up with some members of the Freedom League that are upstairs and bring this operation down.â€Â

“Alrighty then.†Velocity replied at Daedalus’ response. She then looked over at Raindance as she said. “There seems to be lots of waiting on this one.â€Â

Confidence was not something Velocity was lacking in (either in or out of costume), and she quickly spoke up after Captain Wonder finished translating for Legionnaire and gave some details about himself. “Velocity at your services.†The young woman said with a wide smile. “I’m probably among the fastest people on the planet, and I have tough more than a few villains not to underestimate me.â€Â

Velocity pulled her arm free from Legionnaires grasp as she gave him a slight glare. “Hands off please.†She said, then adding, “Don’t know what help I can give with translation, Captain Wonder speaks Latin, not me. But sure, I can try to help some. Now try to keep up, I’ll go slow.†With that she was off down the hallway in a flash, stopping a short distance down and waiting for the others to catch up before continuing on until they reached the hallway where Emissary was waiting.

Velocity looked up at the banner that was hanging from the ceiling and grinned. “If I did not know better, I would ask if you were on the Homecoming committee in high School.†She then focused back on the silver man. “Okay, I’ll try to get them moving then.†With that, she was gone again. A few seconds later she was back to the rest of the group. “I found Emissary, he is waiting for us by the Wreck Room.†Velocity said.

“The factory is destroyed, but we have no idea where the toys were being sent.†Velocity replied to Daedalus’ communication.

With no one objecting to her plan to search out Emissary, Velocity prepared to take off as she spotted a winged young woman that had arrived. The speedster gave the newcomer a small smile and a wave, and then was gone with a rush of wind and a yellow blur. A few seconds later, she was skidding to a halt near where she had found Emissary. "Hey, good to see you again." She said with a friendly smile. "So where do we want everyone to head off to? Several others are waiting near the main entrance."

Velocity looked back over at Captain Wonder as he provided a translation of what Legionnaire had said, along with the additional information about his background. "Well, I guess that is a good enough apology and excuse." The young speedster replied. She looked back over at Legionnaire. "Sorry for calling you an extra from a period movie." Focusing back on everyone, she then added, "So, shall we go find Emissary so we can get things started? I should be able to find him pretty quick and get back to the rest of you." She said, then muttering slightly added, "and maybe I'll get lucky and meet Bowman coming out of the shower."

Velocity smiled at the Doctor as he apologized for giving unasked for advice and then introduced himself. "That's okay, particularly when the advice is given along with such a nice compliment. It is very nice to meet you Doctor Archerville. Though you seem to already know, I call myself Velocity." "And contacts can be a very good thing. My parents have always stressed the importance of networking."

Nariek, I would point out that a regiment was not a part of the Roman military orginzation. From the time your character is from in your back story, a Legion would have been divided inot Cohorts of 480 infantrymen each, which was further divided into six centuriae of 80 men each. Those were divided into 10 Contubernia of 8 men each.

Velocity had not moved or changed her casual stance in the least as Legionnaire had begun to threaten her, only to be intercepted by Captain Wonder. After all, Legionnaire was all but moving in slow motion in her eyes, and she could have acted in a millisecond to any attack if needed. Wishing she had some idea of what Captain Wonder had said, though the tone sure got a lot of the message across, the teenager looked back over at the other man who had come over and warned her about how she should address this hot head. "No, I would not talk to Centurion that way. But, by the same token, Centurion would have treated me with more respect as well."

"Velocity." The yellow clad speedster replied with a very warm smile and held out her hand. "It is not often one gets to meet a legend Captain." The young speedster then looked over at the man dressed like an ancient Roman soldier and smirked as he asked if she as a fighter and then started laughing. "And where did you come from? The set for Gladiator II? If so, is Russell Crowe in that one? And can you get his autograph for me?"

Megan looked about the small dorm room, not particularly impressed by it. It was tiny, particularly given the fact you would have a roommate. Not that she was really considering Freedom City, but if she did attend here, she rather doubted she would want to stay in the dorms. After all, her parents could easily pay for a much larger, off campus apartment or townhome for her. Focusing back on their tour guide after they were all crowded into the dorm room and he asked what people were thinking of majoring in. She waited until a few others had answered before she added, “Probably economics.â€Â

As Captain Wonder pushed open the door to Freedom Hall, he felt a rush of wind as a yellow blur speed by him. "Thanks." He heard a female voice say as the figure passed. Velocity sped into the entry way of Freedom Hall, having been something of a regular visitor here over the last couple of months. Looping back around, she sped back to the door, coming to an abrupt halt in front of Captain Wonder. The brunette ponytail of the wig she wore with her costume swished to the side due to the sudden stop as she stood looking up at the legendary hero, her hands clasped behind her as she gave Captain Wonder something of a quizzical look. "Your not quite as tall as I expected. Please do not take this the wrong way, but weren't you dead?"

Yes, the IC does mean the thread is not currently looking for characters. Though, if Markk might be willing to let in others, that is his call. Shazam. What would a Gather Info Check of 23 net for Velocity about Captain Wonder (she has the Well Informed feat to make the roll right away). I am going to post her arriving as you do, once I know what that roll migh have her learn, so I can incorporate that.

I'd be interested in joining in as well, most of my threads have slowed down at the moment.

I don't know yet. I am hoping that it is a good sign as they are trying to contact the references I gave them.

Sorry for the delay from me. Its been a combination of being busy and loosing some of my interest in this site that has keep me from being active.

I've been really busy with school/RL the last few weeks. BUt yeah, Velocity is a teen hero, but she is a senior at the private high school she goes to in North Bay, and the way time tends to move here, she will be likely graduating soon and heading off to college.

Its okay VM, I have still been really busy myself. Just finished my take home midterm over the weekend. Started a new paper I am handing in today. And then I have a second interview with a mutual fund company this afternoon (and I really, really want this job). Thev :)
