Umm, yeah, since the “worst†I can roll is 37. I got my best initiative yet, a 53.

The bad guy got his surprise attack, and I made my toughness well enough to not be stunned. So, do you want a new initiative, or shall I just act?

Her father is a very prominent Corporate lawyer at the largest lawfirm in Freedom City (Hartford, Grayson & Cole I believe). Her mother is well known for her work with various charitable foundations.

After dodging some flying pieces of robot, Velocity looked back over at Raindance as he asked if she was alright. “I’ll probably have a nasty bruise tomorrow.†She replied. “But I should be okay.†She looked back at the ruined jack-in-the-boxes. “We should probably look around a bit more, but so far it does not seem that these are being stored here.â€Â

Megan only half paid attention to the orientation, every once and awhile checking up on some of the cuter boys that were checking her out. She really wished Janet had come along, but the other girl really wanted to get out of Freedom City for college, so she was not even bothering to look at schools in the city. Megan was rather sure she would be attending college elsewhere as well, but still took the chances to look at the local schools. She noticed a few boys that arrived just at the end of the introduction speech, slipping into some empty seats in her row. She then focused back on the Dean of Students as he finished his speech. Looking at the materials she had, Megan noted the group number she had been assigned to for the campus tour, waiting to have her guide introduced.

Looks like I just get a bruised condition, with an 18. Velocity also now has a rank of Luck.

Well, its not going to be the HERO system perse, but the developers have stated that they will be going for more coustomizable heroes (unlike City of Heroes) in terms of powers and the like. But, that was what City of Heroes was originally supposed to be like as well, but they changed it about a year before release because the realized people might make gimped heroes and get frustrated and stop playing. One interesting thing they have said will be part of the character creation process...when you finish your hero, you are also required to make your hero's archenemy (picking the name, powers and apperance of that villain), and that archenemy will be a regular opponent thoughout your character's career (though apparently there are ways to remove them permanetly, at which point you have to create a new archenemy). They have also said that combat will be more fast paced, and tactics and strategy will be important. Will be interesting to see how it goes.

Speaking of games people play, has anyone here seen Cyptic Studio's new project? (that's the company that does City of Heroes) http://www.champions-online.com Looks pretty cool, but not a lot of info right now though.

Velocity was rather satisfied with the effect of her sonic boom on the two jack-in-the-boxes. But they still seemed to be in the fight, so she then rushed past them once more, setting off a second sonic boom, hoping to finish off at least one of them. In a second she was back over near Raindance.

Megan followed along with Will, listening closely to what he had to say about his device. While science really was not her thing, it was clearly important to him, so she did her best to at least learn some of the key points. When Janet showed up, the blonde teen frowned. The news meant that she was likely not going to be able to grab lunch with Will today, but at least she was forewarned now. "Thanks Janet." Megan replied before her friend disappeared. Looking back at Will she gave him a disappointed look. "Well, I think the chances of being able to get away to get something to eat right now just went way down." She took out a piece of paper, and wrote down her name and number on it. "But here's my cell. If I can't get away today, we can always meet up another time."

“I can imagine.†Megan replied to Duncan’s comment about getting away from groupies. There were more than a few Velocity fanboys she knew about, thankfully none of them were able to even remotely keep up with her, so getting away did not prove too difficult a task. Megan’s thoughts were pulled back to the moment as Duncan mentioned not having heard her name. “Sorry.†She said with a smile. “Megan Howell.â€Â
