GM Star-Khan had landed near the ATV as Starshot and Doktor Archeville climbed out of the vehicle. The young Zultasian stood six and a half feet tall as he looked over toward the two humans as they approached, a friendly expression on his face. "You as well Doktor." He replied as he shook hands with the scientist. "Starshot." He added, giving a nod to the hunter. Doktor Archeville's scans reveled a rather advanced suit of battle armor, providing superhuman strength, flight and capable of projecting powerful energy blasts, among other more routine systems. Star-Khan then looked toward the cave as he considered the Doktor's additional comments. "Perhaps. It could be that whoever is in there could simply be seeking a secluded location for whatever they are doing, not intending any of this." He gestured up toward the dark sky, where the form of a Sarcota could be seen passing overhead. "Or, it could be intentional, in which case, diplomacy may not be an option." Moving over toward the cave entrance, Starshot could see it went in dozens of meters before curving off to the right. There was not immediate sign of illumination from within, or of recent foot traffic, although the rocky terrain made such signs difficult to note.

Sri Kath'lana Once everyone was in agreement to descend into the tunnel, Kath'lana started down, becoming more like a stalking predator as she moved downward. Star-Khan followed after, with Space Ranger and Cavalier following behind. The tunnel went straight down into the asteroid, no twists or turns, although at points it intersected with small fissures and openings, but otherwise continued along a straight path. After a few hundred meters, Kath'lana reached the end of the tunnel, stopping a short distance from the device that was located at the end, moving to one side as the others drew closer. "It appears to be some sort of propulsion device, I think." She transmitted as she studied it a few moments, not recognizing the technology.

Okay, it only gets a 12 on its Reflex check, so loses 6 Toughness, reveling it is a robot.

Paradigm As Fleur de Joie went immediately into action to identify the locations of the fire and set to work extinguishing it, the two Claremont students finished evacuating the building, not having to worry about taking anyone out to the front now that Explodo had been dealt with. The fire had been completely extinguished by the time the first police, fire department and EMT personnel began arriving on the scene, with news crews not far behind. Star Khan was watching the arrival of all the first responders and the growing crowd of people that began to appear now that the fighting was done. He looked over to Predator after she had checked on Explodo and the police came over to secure the villain. "I apologize if I dealt with that villain too quickly. It seemed the longer he was able to continue throwing those explosively charged items the more likely it was that others would get harmed." He looked over as Golden Star and La Puma Negra came over after finishing evacuating the building, the two receiving many thanks from the people they had helped as Fleur came over towards the group asking if everyone was alright. But before anyone could answer, a voice called out from the sky. "Kinarr." Flying down toward the group was a humanoid female with dark orange skin and long black and purple hair. She was dressed in a white and black costume with golden yellow trim and a long black cape trailing behind her. "Amara." Replied the young Star Khan, a smile coming to his face as he watched the young woman as she lightly landed a short distance from the group. The newcomer carried herself with calm confidence that was impossible to miss. She glanced over at Stesha, "Fleur de Joie," she said in greeting with a small nod of her head, before looking to Predator, Golden Star and La Puma Negra as well, giving them a small smile and another nod. She then looked back up at the much taller Star Kahn. "Are you done? I have been chasing you through two sectors trying to catch up to you to ask you to stop all this before something happened that might endanger the peace you are seeking with the Republic, or someone decides this is the perfect opportunity to eliminate the new Star Khan."

Paradigm Amara could not help but smile slightly as first Chlo'zel and then Sitara followed after her, both clearly enjoying the moment considerably. The Naram could not quite blame her two teammates and friends, given how frequently they seemed to deal with situations that could have far reaching consequences for numerous beings, it was something of a change to have something that was not a life-or-death situation, even if still could have far reaching consequences. "No, I did not see this coming, Chol'zel." Amara answered. "And I am not really sure what the title might be, although I have never really sought any sort of title, save for Preatorian." She glanced over at Sitara as the other woman, as was so often the case, offered some wisdom from her many long years of exploring the galaxy. "As is normally the case, you have far more experience than I do Sitara." The Naram replied. "Since I first joined the Praetorians, I…have never really made any time for any sort of romantic or intimate relationships. Those first five cycles were primarily focused on proving I was not just Daar's little sister." A slightly wistful expression came to Amara’s face as she mentioned her older brother, who had died fighting the Communion over two thousand years ago. "And then since waking up in the current century, there has been so much to do since defeating the Communion there has been little time for much else." She smiled slightly looking back too Sitara and Chol'zel. "I have reached the age where, as a Naram, a decacycle is not really a significant amount of time." Amara let out another small sigh. "But all that aside, it still does not address the proposal at hand. Unless he is a very good actor, Kinarr Khan was being sincere about his desire for peace with the Republic and the Coalition. He did not explicitly tie any such peace to a betrothal, but…" She stopped as they reached the entrance to Imperator Th'emme's offices when she was on the station.

Timeout After sidestepping the giant mummy’s attack, Velocity again became a blur of yellow as she sped towards the towering creature, a loud *CRACK* sounding followed instantly by a *WHAM* as she delivered a supersonic punch to the mummy’s leg, looped around it a couple times and ran back away from the crowd, continuing to try to keep its attention. As the yellow clad speedster skidded to stop, she was shaking her right hand slightly as if it hurt, the giant mummy showing no signs of injury from the punch. "Hey! Come on, right over here!" She yelled out to keep the mummy's focus on her. Back down near the alleyway, Lawrence was watching as his friends worked to direct or physical assist the crowd in moving away from the fight. But as he watched, a concerned look came over his face. He glanced into the air, looking about a moment, then back over to where his teenage mother was fighting against the giant mummy. "This is not correct." He stated to those near him. "The other heroes should have shown up by now to help." He looked about again before putting his hand to his head. "That is what has been tampered with in the timeline." He said, looking at those around him. "I don't think the other heroes that are supposed to be here are going to be. The timeline has already been altered, so I think we will need to intervene."

Round Two 42 Velocity (unharmed) 33 Blue Bolt 4 HP (unharmed) 23 Sever 3 HP (unharmed) 21 Timeout 4 HP (unharmed) 21 Gamma Buzz 2 HP (unharmed) 18 Rot 4 HP (unharmed) 16 Torpedo Lass II 3 HP (unharmed) 14 Giant Mummy (unharmed) 11 Spaceman 4 HP (unharmed) 6 Golden Star 2 HP (unharmed) Okay, in the interest of getting this initial encounter resolved, going to push things forward some with Lawrence realizing that the tampering with the timeline is that the other heroes that are supposed to be showing up are not around. Velocity runs up to attack the mummy and hits with a 29! (almost a critical hit, no improved critical for teen Velocity), but, no effect. She then runs back near where she started, trying to keep its attention. @Kaede Kimura Blue Bolt's turn!

Well, looking at the various conditions listed on pages 170-171 of the core book, they distinguish between when something effects attack rolls, saving throws and "checks" (which I believe is for skill checks) For example: Shaken gives a -2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws and checks. While Sickened (which is what I think FX is) give a -2 penalty only on attack rolls and checks.

GM It took a bit of careful piloting to maneuver the Xeno among the circling Sarcota, which could at times change directions without warning. However, Starshot was an expert pilot, steering his ship past the massive creatures, with Star Khan following alongside and eventually touching toward the tops of one of the mountains that formed the ravine from which Doktor Archeville was detecting the magical energy signature. Once down, the two Earthmen exiting the Xeno in the ATV, bouncing slightly as the vehicle traversed the uneven terrain and starting into the ravine. It began as a rather rugged slow, but further in shifted to cliffs on either side. Thankfully, they were able to find a ledge that ran along the cliff face that was more than wide enough to accommodate the ATV, at least for now. The young Star Khan continued to fly along side the ATV, seemingly focused on keeping an eye on their surroundings for any sign of threats. After a short drive along the ledge, the ravine was narrowing, as was the width of the ledge. But then, they arrived at large opening on the cliff wall along the ledge, a cave leading deep into the mountainside. According to the readings Doktor Archeville was picking up, the source of the magical energy was somewhere within the cave, which was too small to reliably fit the ATV. "I assume our path takes us in there." Kinarr asked as he hovered in place, looking into the cave.

Multi-Girl "Hey, Carmen, let's move." Bernadette said quietly as she stepped up next to the cat girl, who seemed frozen in place with what appeared to be surprise at something. Given what the redhead had seen between Carmen and Neko, it could have to do with this other catgirl that had taken the lead in directing them towards the way out of the casino that would get them past any police. Once she was sure Carmen was following, the Irish teen began to run after as well, making sure all of the others were following along. The dark-haired woman with the sunglasses glanced over at Daniel as she ran alongside him. "I'm Kismet and that's El Gato." She indicated the feline woman bounding ahead of them as they ran. "We are with Force Ops, but let's focus on getting out of here, then we can all deal with whatever questions we have." Kismet and El Gato led the teens through the main part of the casino and then into a side door to the staff area. In there they took a stairway down to a basement area that was filled storage and staff areas and back in one corner was an old tunnel that went along with various utility lines away from the building. The two women led the teens down the tunnel, which led to a basement in what turned out to be a parking building a little over a block away from the casino. As Kismet and El Gato led them down an alleyway, the Claremont students could hear the sounds of dozens of sirens behind them, in what sounded like the police surrounding the casino. After traveling a few blocks, the two women made their way into an old warehouse that had most of its windows boarded up. El Gato jumped up on to a stack of boxes, sniffing at the air slightly as she looked over the teens, her gaze fixing on La Puma Negra. Kismet took a few deep breaths as she looked over at the Claremont students. But before she could speak, another voice called out. "Who the hell are all of you?" The voice came from a man who stepped out of the shadows further into the warehouse. He was a black man about six feet tall with an athletic muscular build dressed in a red and white costume holding a bow in one hand. His belt had several large pouches on it and on his back was a quiver of arrows. "And what made you do something so stupid as to use powers in broad daylight?" "And that's Archer." Kismet stated with a small smirk as the man drew closer to the group, looking at each of the Claremont students in turn with a cold, hard stare. Bernadette glanced at the others a moment before she stepped forward. "That would be my fault, I sorta acted on impulse." She responded. "I'm Multi-Girl, my friends an' I, we are not really from here." She added.

GM The giant mummy began moving toward Velocity and away from the Claremont teens and the crowd. After moving forward half a block, the massive creature raised one hand and some of the tan wrapping shot out towards the yellow clad speedster. But in a blur of motion, Velocity easily side stepped the attack, seemingly feigning boredom as she seemed to study the fingers on one hand a moment before looking back up. "That the best you got?" The teen called out with a grin. The crowd was more than happy to have the giant mummy's attention turned elsewhere, many following directives of the Claremont students or receiving direct help from them as they began moving further away from the creature.

Velocity While Velocity stepped off to one side of the command center to contact Fleur de Joie and give her the background on what was going on, Traveller and Artificer began working with one of the Lighthouse's technicians. Soon enough, there was a holographic display of Paradigm moving the disabled cargo ship (a process that was slower than it might normally be to avoid unnecessary stress that might have caused the vessel to break apart). Not long after between the Leagues own sensors and information provided by the Atlantean ones Artificer had patched in, they had managed to get a lock on the young Star-Khan as he approached Freedom City. As the Star-Khan reached the city, the sensor lock was lost amid all the clutter of the city, at least for the moment. "Well, that figures." Velocity commented, looking over to some of the technicians. "Let's closely monitor all police or other emergency frequencies for anything that sounds like him. And see if we can do something to filter out all that interference." A couple minutes after losing the lock on Star-Khan, one of the technicians reported reports of an AEGIS prisoner transport being intercepted by a group of costumed supervillains, but just as any discussion about possibly responding to the incident began, the technician reported that the rather new super team Young Guardians had almost immediately responded to the incident. By that point, Paradigm was on her way towards Freedom City as well. A few minutes after that, another technician spoke up, "I think I have something, a live feed from a fire in Riverside coming from the hero Predator." The technician activated a holographic screen that showed the live feed, which was from Predator’s perspective, showing the young Star Khan standing in the street near what a burning building, a mother and young girl just near him. Predator appeared to have a weapon trained Star Khan, who was not making any aggressive moves. "That is Kinarr." Justicar Vor'an confirmed. "Okay, get the address to Fleur and the coordinates to Paradigm." Velocity called out. "Hopefully one or both of them can catch up to him before he decides to go somewhere else." As the feed continued, Predator lowered her gauntlet and suddenly turned to her left where a man in a black and orange costume had stepped out from an alley and threw some glowing object in Predator’s general direction. Suddenly the holographic screen flashed bright orange as those watching realized the object had exploded. Predator seemed to stagger slightly, looking back in the direction of where the mother and daughter had been, to see Star Khan shielding them with his body. Then both Star Khan and Predator began to engage the costumed supervillain.

Timeout Lawrence looked over in the direction of the approaching young adult after she called out to them as she hopped through the tress going from branch to branch. When she dropped down and introduced herself, the bond teen studied her a moment as if placing a memory. He then gave her a charming smile. "Lawrence Harrow." He said introducing himself. "I believe you were in my foster sister's graduating class, Lulu Beaumont." He added as he picked up his pack and began getting it secure to start the hike up to the portal he had sensed earlier.
