  1. Okay, that is 2 bruises for Stormchild @EternalPhoenix Serendipity is up!
  2. Slipstream As the effects of the flashbang began to subside, with the other gallery patrons all appearing disoriented, the man in the top hat continued to press his attack against Harlequin. However, the fae prince easily danced out of the way of a somewhat clumsy swing of the electrified tip of the man’s cane. At the center of the room, Lynn took in what all was going on and noted that Jack appeared to have been disoriented by the flashbang. Tired of dealing with the electro-shocks from the Avant Guard, the blonde teenager went into motion, once again becoming a red blur as she moved from one Avant Guard to the next. *Crack* *Crack* *Crack* *Crack* In quick succession, Lynn delivered four supersonic punches to each Avant Guard, moving on to the next before the first even hit the ground unconscious. In short order she had dealt with all the Avant Guard that had been attacking her and Jack. With those threats dealt with, she closed on OD, trying to strike the leader as well. *CRACK* This time the speedster’s timing was off, and OD had started to move just in time to avoid the attack, as the speedster went past the large villain and came to a halt a short distance away. OD turned towards the disoriented Jack, a slight grin on his face. "You appear to be having trouble young one." He stated as he stepped forward and delivered a powerful punch (though slightly less powerful than before) on the teenager.
  3. Okay, the guy in the top hat will again try to hit Harlequin with his cane, and misses. This brings up: ROUND THREE 34 Slipstream 1 HP (unharmed) 23 OD (unharmed) (-4 PP to all powers started Round 2) 21 Harlequin 2 HP (unharmed) 17 Avant Guard (8) 8 Arctus 0 HP (unharmed, Dazzled (vision) Round 2) 4 Renoir (unharmed) Lynn will turn to the Avant Guard around her and Jack, Taking 10 on the first one (with -2 atk/+2 dam) DC 25 save: first one down; will Takedown to the next: two down; three down; and last one almost makes the toughness save, but is still down. She will then try to punch OD: but misses. OD will step up to punch Arctus, hitting with a 26, that is a DC 25 toughness save @Jack. Then it is Alden's turn @Kaede Kimura

  5. In order to make sure the Refs accurately count all your IC posts and award you the due amount of power points, please post with a list of all the threads in which your player character, NPC or sidekick posted IC this month (including the News forum). Also list any threads which you are GMing. GM posts count as double and can be assigned to whichever of your characters needs a 'push'. This topic will automatically close on the seventh day of the following month (i.e., November 7th, 2024 at Midnight EST). When you make your list, post a link to your first post for the month for each IC thread so we can jump right to it. When you start a thread, make sure IC is the first tag and topic prefix of the In Character thread, and OOC is in the first tag and topic prefix of the Out Of Character thread. It's not required, but additional tags including the major players and locations are viewed as a courtesy. Please list your threads in alphabetical order. Please clearly note any threads in which you are both player and GM/running an NPC. In threads where you are both player and GM/an NPC, please be sure to mark each post so we can tell who it should be allocated to. Please list your threads in a timely manner. Extending the deadline one week into the following month is already a grace period. If you've done any "extracurriculars" -- artwork, HellQ, 20 Questions, NPC, vignettes, guidebook pages, etc. -- please be sure to list them along with your active threads. For more information on ways to earn power points, see Character Advancement and Awards in the House Rules section of the Guide. Post counts should be formatted similar to the following: To make clear how many posts from rollover and GM posts are assigned to each character. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in being sent to labor in the acid mines your post counts being postponed or skipped completely. If you missed the deadline, see this thread.
  6. Timeout "The robed entity was the same one that came after me when I was ten." Lawrence replied to Baz as the teen asked about the defeated entity. "We have never been able to figure out who or what it is, but it certainly appears to be afraid of Collapse." Up in the sky, the Communion spacecraft that had been in position above Freedom City had retreated back up into orbit (or beyond). The Communion’s advance within the city seemed to have been halted, and Deadalus and other members of the Freedom League seemed to be conferring with the various aliens that Lawrence had returned to normal off to one side of the park. The Praetorians had helped deal with the last Communion drones in the area and where not gathered around Paradigm not far from the group of teens as they discussed finding their missing friends. Lawrence looked over at Vueriz as she mentioned trying to build something to try to locate the other Claremont students. "I have little doubt you could." The blond teen replied. "But I am not sure our friends have time to wait." "I think I can possibly find them a bit quicker." He added as his eyes began to glow bright blue with cosmic energy once again. "However, the question is what to do when we find them. Even if we can get them out of where they are, there is still the matter of a Freedom City facing the Terminus Invasion without a Centurion to stop Omega." He paused a moment as he seemed to begin looking out into nothing before adding, "but….I think I have an idea."
  7. @EternalPhoenix No, he focused on the troops on the ground.
  8. GM Up in the sky, the two space fighters veered towards Stormchild, streaking towards her as the energy weapons built into the hull of each fighter opened fire. Powerful blasts of energy struck Stormchild as the two fighters sped past her and several blocks further along the skyline. Down on the street, Owen unleased a massive burst of energy among several of the holographic opponents. Six of the troopers and one of the larger aliens were all blown off their feet and sent flying, disappearing as the struck the ground defeated. However, one of the large aliens seemed unfazed by the blast and aimed a large two-handed energy weapon as the teen and fired. The blast of energy struck Owen’s forcefield squarely. Another of the large aliens had been caught in Gookgak’s magical spell, making it seem a bit hesitant and uncertain. But it turned its focus toward Serendipity and rushed towards him, swinging a large battle axe at the teen. However, the agile Reil was able to dodge the attack with seeming relative ease.
  9. Okay, the two fighters will engage Stormchild, both hit with the fighters' blasters. @EternalPhoenix that is two DC 25 toughness saves for Stormchild. One of the Lt's will go after Owen, 20, @Lone_Star that is a DC 23 toughness save for Prime Mover. The other Lt (who has a penalty from the despair) will go after Serendipity. 16 (I forgot to apply the -2 penalty), so that is a miss. @EternalPhoenix Serendipity is up!
  10. Okay, sorry for the delay, moving things forward again. @Lone_Star Will say Owen is able to get 6 troopers, a tough alien and the other Lieutenant in his area attack. The attack roll hits all but the Lieutenant. DC 25 toughness saves: Troopers: all fail and are out. Tough Alien: 15, so also out.
  11. @Lone_Star A couple issues (You need to link Prime Mover's sheet in your signature); First, Stormchild flew high up into the air. Paralyze is a touch attach and you did not buy it as Ranged, meaning the targeted area burst is centered around Owen, so he could not fly up to Stormchild and have it go off away from him. A second issue, somehow we let the power get through approval with an error, it is not built correctly. It has too many extras (as you have it now, it would cost 40 PP, not 30), so you likely need to drop the Selective extra (or area).
  12. @Lone_Star Owen is up!
  13. @FlyingFresh The Troopers: three make their saves, the other seven are subject to Despair. Tough Aliens: both fail, so are subject to Despair. Tough Alien LT: also fails.
  14. @FlyingFresh It would be the same number (given the need to place the center where it won't cover any of the others).
  15. @FlyingFresh Based on where he is now, I will say he can move to catch 2 of the tough aliens, one of the LTs and 10 of the troopers in the area.
  16. Slipstream Somehow Stormchild seemed to fly high up into the sky of the holographic city, far above the ceiling of the Doom Room. But if she expected to be isolated from any of the enemy, that quickly changed, as two advanced spacecraft dropped down out of the clouds and veered in her direction. Down on the street level, another six of the large red reptilian aliens appeared, again scattered about the intersection. Turning towards one of those new opponents, Slipstream seemed to become slightly less blurred as she quickly closed the distance to deliver another punch. *CRACK* The attack struck the large alien. However, this time, it seemed unfazed by the attack, remaining unmoved as the teenage speedster sped past. Taking a sharp turn, Slipstream ran up the side of another building and again skidding to a halt on the rooftop to try to give herself a bit of cover once more.
  17. Okay, on to: Round Three 27 Slipstream 2 HP (unharmed) 19 Gookgak 3 HP (unharmed) 19 Prime Mover 3 HP (unharmed) 16 Fighters (2 engaging Stomchild) 12 Alien Lts (2 unharmed) 11 Serendipity 5 HP (unharmed) 8 Centuria 2 HP (unharmed) 7 Troopers (20 spread out) 3 Stormchild (unharmed) 2 Tough Aliens (4 remaining) More threats. More of the big aliens, including two that are even tougher. Also, two fighters up in the air to engage Stormchild. Slipstream will change back to her Strike and close with one of the large aliens that appeared: 2 one of the Tough Aliens. She will -2/+2 Power Attack and take 10: DC 25 toughness save: 29, it makes the save and messes up any Takedown. Slipstream will zip up another rooftop. @FlyingFresh Gookgak is up!
  18. Running out of cars But yeah, that will work EP Will say she is able to catch 3 troopers in the path of that car. One makes the reflex saves. Toughness saves (first is the DC 19 save): they all miss, so are knocked out.
  19. Fair Grounds (near Ocean Heights Amusement Park) Port Regal, Freedom City, New Jersey Friday September 27, 2024. 3:00 PM As had been the case for well over a decade, the last full week of September had the fairgrounds near Ocean Heights Amusement Park was host to the Freedom City Renaissance Faire. The faire was spread out across the grounds, with various areas each offering a different experience. At one end of the faire was a mostly open area set up for a number of events and activities that were more physical in nature. This included a jousting list with regularly scheduled jousting exhibitions. There was also an archery and axe throwing range, among other activities. With the faire soon to wrap up at the end of the weekend, Claremont Academy had arranged for students that wished to attend to be excused from their last class of the day and had provided buses to transport the students to the fairgrounds. After the buses arrived at the parking area, the students were free to go where they wished for the next several hours.

The faire was spread out across the grounds, with various areas each offering a different experience. At the heart of the faire was the town square, an open courtyard like area with side streets that led to the other areas of the faire. Several seating areas for guests were set up in sections of the square. From time-to-time various performers moved about the open spaces entertaining small groups of guests. Off to one side of the square was a small stage, which was the site for several scheduled performances throughout the day. The faire was spread out across the grounds, with various areas each offering a different experience. One of the areas available was the "Royal Court," a pre-fab structure made to look like a small castle which sat at one end of the fairgrounds. The interior of the building was designed to resemble a throne room, where there were various staff acting out various court functions and interacting with visitors. Lynn Conners had made her way down the main street to the Royal Court, walking along with her roommate Mattie Hooper. Like several guests at the faire, the blonde teen was in costume. In this case it was a dark green dress, with a corset, under which she wore a white blouse with somewhat billowy sleeves and brown leather gloves. The last few weeks since classes had started at Claremont had been a bit of a whirlwind. At times Lynn had almost felt a bit overwhelmed, by things, but had generally managed to keep herself from having a breakdown. Mattie's regular presence had been a big help with that, as well as her weekly counseling sessions. "There it is up ahead." The blonde said to her roommate, noting the small castle ahead of them.

Contained within were various shops that offered all manner of themed goods and gifts, as well as a number of food carts, stalls and even a couple of buildings set up to resemble taverns. 24. GM The members of the Avant Guard near OD seemed as surprised as their leader that the teenage girl now seemed to be about as strong as he was. After Harlequin cast his spell, the members of Avant Guard started to move into action once again. Several moved towards the female speedster and Jack, wielding their stun batons. As one attacked Lynn, Harlequin tried to use the ring of silver liquid to block the attack. But the trickster was a bit too slow in response and the attack hit the teenage girl and his spell was disrupted. Lynn felt the electricity course through her, but again managed to avoid it. The two henchmen that moved on Jack both delivered shocks from their batons to the tall Russian. Another two continued after Harlequin, who danced away with ease. Then another of the Avant Guard tossed a small cylinder into the middle of the room, which exploded in a bright flash. The flash caused all the bystanders to cry out in surprise as they turned away, their eyes filled only with light and stars from the sudden flash. Lynn managed to close her eyes, avoiding the effect completely. The other Avant Guard and OD all seemed unaffected by the flash, the sunglasses worn by the henchmen seemingly helping against the effect.
