GM The Xeno's path down to the surface of the world was a bit precarious, taking the ship between two rows of the solar collectors and the support structure for the arrays, the massive energy cells charged, and the anti-grav systems that held the entire structures up above the world’s surface. Down below the arrays, the surface was baren and empty, a thin layer of mist seeming to stretch over most of it. A short distance ahead, the massive mountain range where the Sarcota were gathered rose high into the air, steep inclines and cliffs. But just as Starshot had finished prepping the ATV for departure, several alarms sounded inside the Xeno, as its long-range sensors detected activity back up in the upper atmosphere towards the top layer of the array structure. Something small, about the size of a person, had entered the atmosphere, and was flying down towards the arrays and the area where there were Sacrota active….

Velocity The yellow clad speedster led Ghost and Artificer into the center of the large room to meet Gaian Knight halfway. She gave her long time teammate a smile as he greeted the other two, and at his comment that hinted at both his and Fleur’s discomfort when they were aboard the station. At Artificer's comment about hosting beings from very different environments, the speedster gave the Atlantean a small smile. "Not nearly as many as you might think. We have had a few such visitors, but for the most part, visitors from other parts of the galaxy are still relatively rare. Most of the time it is monitoring things going on down below and reacting as need." She stated. No sooner had Velocity spoken, than one of the technicians at one of the stations looked up from her screens towards the League members. "We have a contact out by Pluto. A starship of unknown design has just exited the wormhole. No attempts to make contact."

Multi-Girl "As if there isn' time ta talk with people between classes." Bernadette said with a small smirk as she glanced over to Michael. She then just grinned at his comment about her being able to not miss class while still given tours or doing other things. "It does come in handy." The redhead stated. "If I wasn' able ta have duplicates handle some studyin' while I am out rehearsin' or performin' in shows with me band, I would probably be failin' half me classes." When Neko began trying to pressure Michael to sing for them at some point during the trip, Bernadette just shook her head slightly as she lay back to look up at the sky. Meanwhile, in the pool, one of the redhead's duplicates swam up near Daniel, giving him a slight nudge. "Rember I was mentionin' Rosalind durin' yer tour? That is her over there." She said, pointing to another girl sitting in one of the lounge chairs. "Hey, Rosalind!" The duplicate called out. "Have another one that might be interested in joinin' yer next production!" She said, pointing to Daniel.

Multi-Girl As was so often the case on a new student tour, Bernadette slowed down once more as Consuelo arrived and began interacting with the new students. "Hey Consuelo." The Irish teen said to the green-haired girl with a smile. "That is a very cool shirt." While Owain was talking to Iris about what books she liked to read and the library, Bernadette looked over to Daniel. "While it can vary from time ta time, there are usually a number o' students interested in actin’,' or at least willin' ta give it a try. I think they usually try ta put on at least one production each year. I can make sure ta introduce you ta Rosalind, another senior, she was in the director fer a play last year."

Timeout Lawrence waited while Ryan used his longsword to teleport himself into the house to drop off his bag before teleporting back outside. The blond teen gave him a smile. "Well, should become more familiar with practice." He stated before nodding and starting off along the path down the hillside towards the clear blue waters below. "Yes, just down this way." Soon the two teens were down at the beach, spotting Vueriz and Parker over by the life raft that Mizuki set up. Out in the shallow waters between the beach and the reef, Mizuki had set up a number of rafts for the group to use as they enjoyed the crystal-clear water. But then Lawrence noticed Mizuki over near Consuelo, who was lying on the beach. Moving over quickly toward the pair, he looked down at them with some concern. "Is everything okay?" He asked, looking at Consuelo and then to Mizuki.

Well, that is fine for looking for the source of the problem, but I am also looking for a reaction notice (so will be two different notice's for Michael)

Okay, due to the influx of characters (which is great!), we are going to reintroduce the Squads for the remainder of the Claremont school year (we figure it is something the school would do for a host of reasons). This of course does not prevent people from doing threads with characters outside the assigned squads (which includes the Study Group stuff Poncho is doing). Several of us will be working to run threads for the individual squads going forward, in addition to any stuff we might want to do. Paradigm Justicar Vor'an took the offered power staff with one hand as he gave Traveller a small nod. "Thank you Prator Shashikala." He replied, before using his free hand to reach up and pull back his hood and the remove his helmet. Vor'an was a young Zultasian, appearing to be close in age to Kinarr. He met Traveller's gaze as he continued. "You have my word that I will only use it here to defend my Khan. I understand you likely have little reason to trust the word of a Justicar, I intend to prove that you can trust mine." He then moved to follow after the new Star Khan. Paradigm had been waiting on the lower level of the council chambers when the Praetorians arrived with the young Star Khan and his entourage. The Praetorian leader had been meeting with Imperator Th’emme during the time the inspection of the Khanate vessel had taken place, and remained at the council chambers while the new Star Khan was led to the building. Her yellow eyes briefly regarded the young Khan and those accompanying him. The small Khanate delegation stopped at the edge of the lower level of the Council Chamber, as they awaited to be acknowledged and granted leave to speak. When Imperator Th’emme quiette the commotion with in chamber and then greeted the young Star Khan and provide formal recognition for him to speak before the council, the young Zultasian moved forward to the podium located at the center of the chambers. As Kinarr Khan moved forward to the center of the chamber, he looked up at the gathered Coalition representatives before focusing on Imperator Th’emme. The young Khan resembled his father, tall, with grey-blue skin, high cheekbones and a flowing mane of white hair and tapered ears. However, unlike Kinan Khan, Kinarr’s black eyes did not have the same cold and cruel gaze. Stopping at the podium, he gave a slight bow of his head before looking back up. "Imperator Th'emme, other great and distinguished representatives of the Republic and Coalition worlds, I thank you for your gracious welcome and am honored to have the opportunity to speak before you, I will seek to not waste your very valuable time, as was done not so long ago by representatives sent by my father." The young Khan began. "I recognize that there have been decacycles of hostilities between our worlds and nothing I can say today can erase that history, much of it from before I was born. But I hope that each of you listen with an open mind and give fair consideration to what I have to say." "During the Incursion, I had not yet reached the age of majority, but I still led a small contingent of Khanate forces that joined the Coalition. I will not attempt to claim false valor with regard to my efforts against the Communion, which pale in comparison to those of so many in this very room, but I made what contributions I could to the effort, as did countless other beings from across this sector. Following the defeat of the Communion, I watched as your worlds and citizens moved forward in rebuilding from that terrible event, working together for the betterment of all." "As one of the honored representatives of this assembly so correctly pointed out to one of my father's ambassadors several cycles ago, following the incursion, the Khanate was afforded an opportunity to move forward in a better direction. I am sorry that I was not in a position then to have prevented those elements within the Khanate entrenched in the old ways from maintaining control over and assisting my father in regaining enough of his health to launch the ill-advised attempt to restore the Khanate." "But now, my father is dead, and I have ascended to rule as the new Star Khan. Now I am in a position to seek change. So, I stand before you, unarmored, unarmed, expressing my desire to enter into formal peace agreements with the Republic and all Coalition and allied worlds. To those worlds represented here that were once part of the Khanate, I hence forth renounce any claim, while fully acknowledging that such claim was only ever based on the brutal conquest of my father. I wish to open the boarders of the Khanate to free trade with your worlds, so that the citizens of the Khanate may join the citizens you represent in working together to create a better future for all." The young Star Khan paused a moment, as murmurs began to spread throughout those gathered in the chambers. But he quickly continued, stepping forward a pace or two. "Finally, there is one last matter, one that is by no means the least for me. I have also come to ask the mighty Paradigm for her hand in marriage." Kinarr turned toward the Praetorian leader, taking a few steps forward and dropping to one knee as he continued. "Amara Val-Ren, your deeds are those of legend which echo across two millennia. During the Incursion, you and your fellow Praetorians stood as beacons of hope amid the darkness. Since then, you have become symbols of stability and justice. Your beauty, as majestic and aloof as the stars, has captivated my heart. I ask that you join me in ruling the Stellar Khanate, so that together we may ensure a lasting peace with the Republic and Coalition, and a great and glorious future." Paradigm, who had generally had an impassive expression though most of the young Khan’s speech, was now staring down at the young Zultasian, a look of shock now on her face at his marriage proposal.

Okay, Bernadette misses the reflex check with a 13. And missed the Fort save by 3 with a 15 , but still makes the toughness save with a 26

Timeout Lawrence looked over at his roommate and chuckled slightly. "You will get out there Baz. I am sure of it." He replied, just humoring the other’s bravado as was so often the case. As Ryan and Daniel both thanked him for including them (and in Daniel's case his sister as well), the blond teen gave a nod to Ryan and shook Daniel's offered hand. "Of course. What is the point of having a great vacation home if you don't share it with friends." Looking over to where Mizuki was lying down next to him, Lawrence gave her a small nudge, "I said hard to beat, not that it couldn't be beaten." He stated before looking back up at the sky. "But yes, there is more to see." He said in partial response to Iris. "And I have been fortunate enough to see it from out there. Up on the Lighthouse, and on a few trips in a Pegasus Space Plane to and from the wormhole out at the edge of our solar system near Pluto. And even from an alien space station in Kesteven 79, amidst a nebula that was formed when that system's star went supernova." He said as he gazed up at the star filled sky.

Multi-Girl gets a 33 on her grapple check. There is nothing that says you have to move to make the reflex check (and I am not finding anything that says someone grappling someone takes a penalty on one)

Timeout Lawrence gave Mizuki a small nod and a smile when she asked him if he was okay. "Let's go to my office to discuss." The Headmistress stated. "Ms. Iwasaki, Ms. Nunez, a teacher will be by to speak with each of you and get some information about your encounter with Quirk." She stated to the two teen girls before she and Lawrence headed off towards the path back to the administrative building. Epilogue Another Place, Perhaps Another Time *Tick* The sound of mechanical gears echoed through a dimly lit space filled with shadow. The faint clicking and ticking of other mechanical gears was just audible in the space, as a figure concealed under tattered dark robes was slowly moved around the dark chamber, although it was standing still. *Tok* The figure again moved with the louder sound of gears, coming around to face a central collection of gears and other mechanisms around which all others seemed to feed. Located in the center of this collection of gears and mechanics was another figure dressed in similarly tattered black robes, which seemed to rise out of the machine itself. Are preparations complete to recover Harrow? The new figure asked the first. Thanks to the power provided by the singularity, the completion of the traps is almost complete. The first figure replied. We must recover Harrow, until we do, we are vulnerable to the power of Collapse. The first figure stated.

Rai Ki Wai Estate Wakaya Island, Fiji Saturday, February 17, 2024, 8:30 PM local time It had been a rather full day of water and sun for the Claremont teens staying at the Fiji estate owned by Lawrence's parents. After the group had grilled dinner up on the massive deck up by the main house, Lawrence had gathered as many as were interested in heading back down to the beach to sit around a campfire to wait for nightfall and a chance for what he indicated was some amazing stargazing while they relaxed a bit before everyone was ready to go to bed. The teens had begun to gather down on the beach where Lawrence had gotten a fire started just before sunset, just before 7:00 PM. Over the next hour and a half, the sky continued to darken, until the sky was filled with countless stars, with even the Milky Way Galaxy visible in the sky above the beach. The fire was crackling in the center of the circle of teens as Lawrence looked up at the sky with a grin. "Like I said, a view of the night sky that is hard to beat, unless you are out in space."

Multi-Girl Bernadette’s duplicate reemerged from the building to where the original and others were gathered by the pool. "Found a couple stragglers inside." She announced as she went back over to the lounge chair she had been sitting at before. Iris and Daniel emerged shortly after the duplicate. "Be a shame not ta enjoy the warm weather." Stated the original Bernadette from the chair she was laying on, glancing over to the twins with a smile, having been fully aware her duplicate had run into them inside. "I imagine you remember Owain, in case you have not met them yet, this is me roommate, Neko, an' another senior, Rosalind. I expect you have met Michael in at least one class." She continued, indicating each in turn. After Owain had exited the pool, the four duplicates had continued swimming around the large pool, so were rather spaced out when Daniel leapt into the pool with a large splash.

Velocity Megan gave Carmen another warm smile. "Of course, I am more than happy to help as much as I can. I understand that tracking this sort of thing down can sometimes be difficult, but we will exhaust ever avenue we can. Hopefully we will be able to get you at least some information." When Carmen mentioned getting back to her exploring the inner parts of the island, the speedster gave small nod. "No problem, I should be getting back home as well. So, to return the favor, I would appreciate it if you did not mention my being here or our little chat to anyone for the rest of the weekend, most especially my son. Don't want people to think I am snooping around or anything. Once you are all back to school, feel free to mention it if you like." Megan said with a small grin. Then in a blur of movement faster than Carmen could follow Megan had her mask and goggles back on. "Talk with you again in a couple of days." She said with another smile to Carmen. And then the League speedster was gone in a blur of yellow and a WOOSH of displaced air.

Timeout Lawrence had finished setting the temperature of the cold room to as low as it could go and started back to where he had left Vueriz and Parker. Finding the two already gone, presumably with ice, the blond teen continued on back outside to the deck and the pool. Glancing toward one end of the pool, he saw the seniors on the trip gathered in one area (with several of Bernadette's duplicates in the pool with Owain) and Michael talking with them. Looking ahead, Lawrence spotted one of the newer students to campus standing off to one side looking out toward the water and seeming a bit unsure of what to do. "Hey Ryan!" Lawrence called out as he slowed down and headed towards the other teen. "Mizuki has set up a bunch of stuff for people to enjoy in the shallows inside the reef down by the beach. Why don't you drop your suff in the house and I show you the way down."

Multi-Girl "I think we all had a few choice words about Quirk afterwards." Bernadette stated with a small smirk, although she well remembered how upset Neko had been for some time afterward. Like Owain, the redhead did not blame her roommate at all about what Neko had thought of the whole thing. She then grinned as Owain asked the twins, and to an extent Ryan, about their interests and began to talk about his own. "An' here I can recall when you only wanted ta talk about fencin' an' horseback ridin'." The Irish teen stated as she gave Owain a playful nudge. "But, we should walk n' talk, otherwise we will never get these two ta where they need ta be." Bernadette stated as she gestured back down the path and began leading the group along as they walked parallel to a low wall to the sough of the path, which then turned to a gate in the wall an into a semi-enclosed section of the school grounds. Off to their left were two somewhat smaller buildings, side by side, and past those, a much, much larger building that the path led directly towards. To the right was an area of well-manicured bushes, flowers and other plants. Bernadette pointed off to the right to start. "Over there are the gardens. In the middle is a Japanese style zen garden. Tends ta be one o' the quitter an' more tranquil places on campus. So, good place ta go if you want ta get some peace n' quiet."

Multi-Girl Iris and Daniel had found a quite spot on the upper floor of the main house, where there was a large living room space, with multiple seating areas and large windows that looked out toward the water and other island beyond. It was filled with various pieces of local art and antiques, spaced between the seating areas on various low bookshelves or tables. The room was big enough to easily fit all the teenagers that had come on this trip, with plenty of space for more. Afte having been relaxing in the relative quiet for a bit, the twins heard a voice behind them. "Oi, you two aren' planin' on spendin' the entire trip sittin' inside are ya?" Turning around they saw Bernadette (whether it was the original or a duplicate they were unsure) standing behind them, wearing only a bikini, her hands on her hips. "Come on, get out an' enjoy the warm weather." The Senior girl stated, walking up to shoo the twins from where they were seated. "Most o’ the rest o' yer class has headed down ta the beach. But if you don' want ta do that, at least come hang out by the pool. Mainly just the seniors, an' Michael, so not too crowded." She gave a small smile.
