Timeout As the racers approached Pyramid Plaza, Lawrence took a moment to study the course as it rose up to twist in and out of the various towards of the plaza (something he was able to do in a faction of the time it might otherwise take). Focusing back on the course, the blond teen gripped the steering wheel a bit tighter as he came to the first sharp turn, slowing down ever so slightly as he made the sharp turn, his racer whipping around the curving track and staying within the main part of it and not losing speed. The two remaining members of Arsenal both managed to keep up, making the first series of sharp turns as the course continued to rise into the air. The blond teen began to accelerate as he managed to skillfully control his racer as the course weaved in and out of the towers, pulling slightly ahead of some of the others. Then, the course straightened out briefly, before coming to a sudden end. Lawrence's racer sped off the end of the course and into the air, the next portion of the course visible some distance ahead at a slightly lower height. Not wanting to risk possibly failing to make the jump, the teen focused on the course ahead and he and his racer were surrounded by a temporal distortion and then disappeared from view, only to reappear out of another temporal distortion down on the course ahead. He sped along the course as both Consuelo and then Mizuki came landing down near him after completing their jumps. While Incendiary managed to make the jump, he was some distance behind the three teens as they sped into the North End, the course stretching out ahead and into Liberty Park. Up ahead, the teens could see Quirk on his racer, the young girl in the princess dress right beside him. This was the closest any of them had gotten to the pair all race. Lawrence glanced over to the two girls and smiled. "Almost to the end. Let's go show him up." He said with a grin. Behind the, Incendiary suddenly dropped out of view. Suddenly, the "Rick" announcer version of Quirk appeared again in the upper right corner of the teen’s vision. "WOW, what an incredible race so far. Team Claremont has been incredible, with so many close calls and exciting finishes, isn't that right Vic?" "Oh, most definitely Rick!" Responded the grey sweater wearing Qurik now in the upper left corner. "Well, they are nearing the finish line." Stated "Rick" as he reappeared in the upper right-hand corner. "But now Team Claremont has to face off with the final three opponents, why don't you introduce them Vic." "Would be my pleasure, Rick! We have some real blasts from the past! First up, we have Aries, the speedy powerhouse from the Zodiac group that has tussled with the Freedom League in the past!" As Quirk spoke a racer pulled onto the track near the teens, it was a male figure on a large quad runner, wearing a white one-piece costume with metal banded gloves and boots and a golden colored helmet with a full-face mask and two small horns on either side of the helmet. "Quite the hard charger there, who is up next Vic?" "Well Rick, next up is the psychic sadist, Mindfire!" Quirk announced in his other announcer persona as another racer pulled on the course near the teens. It was an attractive redheaded woman in a red and black sight bodysuit and riding a motorcycle. Ghostly flames seem to swirl around her and her eyes glowed with a yellow/orange light. "Oh, could be bad news if she gets her mental hooks in any one on Team Claremont. And for the last opponent Vic?" "Oh last, but certainly not least Rick, we have the Anit-Earth version of Johnny 'spoilsport' Rocket himself, Johnny Speed!" At the announcement, the three teens heard a faint *CRACK* of something breaking the sound barrier and then a loud BOOM behind them as a third racer came streaking up between them to slow down slightly just ahead. It was a sleek formula one style racer that crackled with electricity and was driven by a man with short blond hair that was the spitting image of the former Freedom League speedster Johnny Rocket, only he wore a dark colored costume and had an evil leer on his face. "Hey kiddies, ready to get trounced by a true speed freak?" He called out. "Well, one thing is for sure Vic, this is sure to be an exciting finish!"

Mult-Girl Bernadette had been about to respond to Michael's question about having one of her duplicates sleep for her when Consuelo interjected, referencing the pair's trip to Albright Institute toward the start of the school year. The redhead gave an amused scowl at the younger girl and scoped up the towel she had been lying on and threw it at Consuelo's head. "Very funny." She responded with a smile on her face. "But yeah, not shoor that would really work Michael, wish it were so easy. I am just happy that they can help me study an' that I can recall what they review." The Irish teen stated. When Consuelo talked about flying off around the island and she and Neko discussed Carmen possibly eating a pigeon out there in the wild, Bernadette frowned slightly. "I don' know if I would be too quick ta fly around like that Consuelo. Lawrence said there were staff that worked here, they could live on another part o' the island. There could also be other private houses like this one." But then redhead gave a small shrug as she finished, not really planning to do anything more to try to dissuade the green haired teen. Meanwhile, her duplicates were giggling and laughing as they splashed and mock-dueled Owain the pool. "Brutes are we?" Asked the two of them facing off with the young man. "Guess we will just have ta do this then." Said another that had swum up behind him and tried to dunk his head briefly under water.

Well, that is what it would mean in the rule book, but like I said, I believe our changes deleted that line. You can either make the concentration check and use your standard action to activate some power to try to escape, or use the standard action to oppose the grapple again.

Depends on what she is trying to do, if she wants to activate a power, she would need to pass a DC 20 concentration check to do so. Otherwise, the only standard action she can take is trying too escape the grapple.

Forgot to add, when all the PCs get across the jump, they will all be back together as we go into the final two stages!

No resisting someone trying to initiate a grapple does not effect Rot's next action, so she still has her standard action when it is her turn.

Huck, just to be clear, there were two checks to stay on the course, how well you did in terms of speed was built into that, so you got a 23 and 15 on those, gaining some ground with the first roll, and not losing any the second. Widowmaker: gets a 19 and 18 on his checks to stay on the course and does not lose ground, or really gain any. He bombs his jump check with a 7, so is out of the race. Incendiary gets a 16 and 23 on the first two checks, so is catching up to Mizuki. He also nails his jump check with a 25, but Mizuki gets a bit further ahead with her jump. So, Lawrence, he gets an 18 and 27 on the first two checks, so gain a good bit of ground in the last bit. For the jump, he will stunt a teleport off his main array, with more than enough points to get across. Spends a HP to recover the fatigue. Reminder of HPs Timeout 2 HP Rot 1 HP (bruised) Torpedo Lass 2 2 HP @Huckleberry @The Sailor See above for results, both bad guys are right here with you all on the twisting course through the trio of buildings that are Pyramid Plaza, Widowmaker fails to make the jump. Go ahead and embellish as you like, including on your jump with your IC posts! Two more stages to go!

Timeout Lawrence was listening to the girl as he noticed Baz getting a bit agitated about her talking about bug people, a subject that could be very touchy for Baz. Reaching up with a free hand, the blond teen put it gently on Baz's shoulder. "Bug people are awesome, especially when they have cool radiation powers. But does not change the fact that sounds like this doctor is kidnaping people and experimenting on them." He then looked back at the girl, who seemed concerned about not being able to remember anything after waking up where the doctor had kept her. Lawrence could fully understand how that would be troubling for someone, particularly someone so young. "It sounds like there are other people back there being held against their will like you were. I do not ask lightly, but can you lead us back there so we can see about helping them. Then we can help get you all to the authorities and hopefully someone that can help get your memories back and get you back to where you belong."

Velocity "Whew, finally a question I can answer." Velocity said with a wide smile as she pressed a button for the elevator. "Maglev, although with some significant modifications as it is travels vertically rather than the normal horizontal. Also includes emergency arrests in case of power loss, as happened during the aforementioned incident with the Communion." As the door slide quietly open, the speedster led the two in and pressed the button for the third level. The short ride up two levels was very smooth and almost silent. As the car came to a halt and the door slid open, Velocity had a bit of a grin as she called out, "third floor, hangers, related support systems and storage." Leading Artificer and Ghost out of the elevator and to a double door directly across from it, the three stepped into the Lighthouse's hanger. The large open space seemed to take up about half of the level, stretching out to either side. Three Pegasus Space Planes were currently parked in the hanger, one of the appearing to have some work performed by a small group of technicians. The wall directly across from them was mostly solid and slightly curved, although a large section of the center was a wide-open space (more than large enough for one of the Pegasus planes) that provided a view of space and the Earth below. "Another question I can answer, sort of." Velocity said quickly, pointing toward the opening. "Magnetic forcefield. During flight operations, can be adjusted so that it still keeps the atmosphere in, while allowing a solid object, like a Pegasus plane, to go in or out. Normally kept at a level that prevents solid objects from passing through, such as space debris. A similar field protects the rest of the station. Has its own back up power source, capable of keeping the field in place long enough for the emergency doors to seal it shut in the case of power loss. Again, the incident with the Communion proved it works." "Flight control is over there." She added, pointing off towards the right-hand wall of the hanger, where large windows could be seen looking out over it, with several technicians manning stations inside. "During flight operations, they are the boss." Velocity added with a small grin, then she glanced over to Ghost. "Reminds me, we need to schedule time for some flight simulation training for you to get you cleared to operate a Pegasus plane."

Timeout Lawrence could only smile at the others’ reaction to his abbreviated recounting of his and his parents’ experiences with time travelers. At Parker’s comment, the blond teen gave his friend a faint smile, one in particular that Parker had come to recognize as Lawrence trying to avoid talking more about a subject. With all the questions before, him, Lawrence decided to start with Michael's first, in something of reverse order. "Yes. I can in fact go forward and backward in time, but, for a number of reasons that is probably too long of a discussion for right now, doing either is not something to be done lightly. My most significant experience with it thus far was the first time I met Quirk, and he sent my foster sister, her boyfriend and I to several different points in the past." He then turned to the initial questions. "As for the Praetorians, I suppose you could say they are like an intergalactic version of the League, they tend to have a dozen or more members, but usually operate in smaller teams on missions and primarily within Lor or Coalition space, though sometimes further. Their powers are wide and varied, and while most of them are aliens, they have had some humans as members. In the six years since my first tip out there, my mom and I have spent a couple summers on CoVic Station, so I have gotten the chance to meet most of them, also when I learned to speak GalStandard." "The original Praetorians were actually the guardians of an ancient empire that controlled much of this region of space over two thousand years ago, and after spending two millennium in suspended animation, were revived a little over nine years ago. As to whether or not they are as powerful as my mom or other members of the League, that also varies somewhat. They certainly have several members that are pretty close, some less so. Their leader, Paradigm, was one of the ones that came to help protect me six years ago. I do not know what I could say about her, other than she is perhaps the closest thing I have ever seen to matching the stories about Centurion." With that comment hanging in the air, Lawrence then turned back to Consuelo and her follow up questions. "You mean Angelic? I don’t know her particularly well, but we have traveled in some similar circles, just at different times, including spending time on CoVic Station and with the Praetorians. She was a student here, in the same class as my foster sister, who was friends with her. Not sure the fact she was here before alone would be enough to easily bypass any temporal counter measures, but, having a focus for the temporal incursion inside the defenses could certainly help in overcoming them."

Well, we typically have PCs abilities be at what they were when a thread was started, though some GMs will let a player use an updated sheet, so would sort of prefer here to keep with what we have been using so far (ie the old sheet)

Velocity "Yes on both accounts." Velocity responded with a smile, much more relaxed now that she realized there was no threat. "But as we are out here alone, it's just Megan, Lawrence's mom." As she said that, the speedster took off her mask, goggles and the brunette wing attached to the mask and shook out her long blonde hair. Megan looked back up at Carmen, who could see she had bright blue eyes that seemed to almost burst with energy, the very image of Lawrence's eyes. Now that Megan was a bit closer than she had been at the League party when she had taken off her mask, Carmen could also see it was somewhat difficult to tell exactly how old she was. She could be in her early thirties, but also could easily pass for being in her late twenties. "As for the fence, we were not going to force any of you to just stay on the compound or anything for this trip, but, you did set off a motion sensor, and as I did not have a good camera angle, and you are naturally rather stealthy, I came out just be sure everything was fine. Against my husband's judgment." She gave a wry smile at the last part. Focusing back on Carmen, the blonde woman gave her a smile. "Anyway, I understand wanting to explore some. I would note that there is another private estate out that way," She pointed off to her left, "so if you come to a fence or a gate over there, I would ask you respect their privacy. Also, on the other side of the island is a small resort and the town where the staff for the resort and the private estates live."

Timeout "Oh." Lawrence said, his concerned expression now also becoming somewhat surprised. "I…I am so sorry that I did not even think to ask," he paused a moment as if in thought, "and failed to pick up the hints that were right there." He gave a small smile. "I think I was just used to Mizuki not being bothered by cold anymore, thought you might have the same thing, failed to consider you might not do as well in hotter environments." "But yeah, Parker is right, the is air conditioning in the house." The blond teen added, looking over to Parker and then back to Vueriz. "It will help, but, probably not going to be all that much fun having to stay in the house most of the time while the rest of us…." Lawrence trailed off as he seemed lost in thought once more, then a smile came to his face and he snapped his fingers. "I got an idea." Lawrence started leading the others toward the main house as he pulled out his cellphone and continued talking. "So, on the lower floor of the main house is a gym, with a sauna and steam room," he glanced back to Vueriz, "which you will want to avoid as they are considerably hotter than out here. But, there is also a cold room. So later today we can get that set up for you for when you are ready to go to sleep for the night and turn the temperature down as low as it can go so you should be comfortable for the night." "But, so that you do not have to sit in the house all day, Mizuki has several inflatable rafts, we can put one of them in the shade down at the beach, and fill it with water and ice and create an ice pool for you to either just hang out in, or at least use to cool off in, so you can be with the rest of us. When we want to move back up to the deck or other places on the grounds, between Parker and all the other superstrong teens we have, should not be a problem moving it wherever we need to. So, we will just grab several bags of ice to take down there." The teen sent Mizuki some quick texts.

Multi-Girl Bernadette was quite a moment, smiling slightly as she recalled some of the episodes she had watched of Supercrime! growing up. Funny how back then she never once imagined that she might someday be able to be a superhero. "Well, not so shoor goin' inta the past would work out all that well. Wouldn' have ta go back very far before people are likely ta not enjoy our music." "But certainly possibly traveling to other dimensions or off world could be an interesting idea to pursue." Summer added, the expression on her face clearly intrigued by the idea and considering it. "Well, so long as it isn' Musicland again." Bernadette said with a grin. "Though, I expect Trebel wouldn' mind another singin' fish ta keep them company." She paused, then looked back at Neko. "But you know full well I am pretty clueless when it comes ta magic. Though it was certainly how Summer an' I ended up in Musicland." "Would be nice to go there again and hear some of the songs, just to get ideas." Summer stated somewhat wistfully. Bernadette gave her a small scowl before looking back to Neko. "Anyway, I suppose we wouldn' be against tryin' ta branch out beyond this world/dimension."

Multi-Girl "Sounds good." Bernadette responded when Charlie explained the plan for the game and the rules, particularly the no powers. She chuckled slightly when Leon "accidently" shot Charlie in the back and the let Vik pull her over toward Aoife as the other girl was brought into the fold of their team. "GIRL POWERRRR!" The Irish teen added on the count of three before they started out into the arena. Looking over to Aofie, Bernadette felt she seemed a bit unsure about the rifle she had selected. "Just aim trough these sights," The redhead stated, pointing to the front and rear sights on the laser gun. "Try ta aim at the vest, ta be sure you score a hit on the sensors," She pointed towards the sensors on her own vest. "And squeeze the trigger when yer ready ta fire. If ya jerk the trigger, can cause your aim ta be off an' miss." Giving the other girl a smile, Bernadette came to a halt in the area designated as their spawn point. "This is our startin' point. If ya get tagged out there, ya have ta come back here an’ get reset ta start over. If ya find their startin' point out there, don' stay there, as Charlie said we can' just camp it ta shot 'em again when they reset. Got it?"

Multi-Girl Bernadette smiled as her roommate came out to join them on the deck, claiming one of the lounge chairs for herself. The redhead was glad Neko had decided to come, even if she seemed somewhat leery of the water, and the ocean in particular. Hopefully she could at least enjoy relaxing some and would probably enjoy the sunny warm weather. The Irish teen was pulled from her thoughts as Owain arrived, sending a big splash of water out as he jumped into the pool, a fair bit of which landed on Bernadette and her duplicate. She held back the urge to yell at him, after all, it was good to see Owain acting rather carefree, and as he popped back up to the surface and commented about it being a party, Bernadette could only laugh. "Aye, that it is, guess I can catch up on lost sleep later." As she spoke, four more of her duplicates appeared and immediately ran over to the pool themselves and jumped in around where Owain was floating, sending several more splashes of water all around the area. Meanwhile, the duplicate that had been sunbathing got up from her lounge chair. "I'll go find some coffee, an' maybe some Aleve."

@Huckleberry @The Sailor Okay, for this next stage, going to do something a bit different. As described in my IC, the course is going to go and spiral up into the air, weaving in and out of the three towers that make up Pyramid Plaza, before ending in a ramp for a jump across a gap in the course. So, I am asking for two Reflex checks representing navigating the winding path up. DC10 to avoid falling off! DC 15 and you avoid slowing down. DC20 and you will be in position to move ahead depending on other's rolls. For the jump, need a third Reflex check, DC 20 to make it across! (but you can add a bonus equal to Flight and/or Leaping to this roll!) Any questions?

Timeout Lawrence continued to try to focus on his driving and the new opponents that Quirk had thrown at them. The blond teen grinned as Consuelo took Blur out of the race, he had been a bit worried about how much pressure Blur would be able to put on them with his superspeed, figuring he might not be as downgraded in power as he had been during the Doom Room training. However, the other two members of Arsenal that Quirk had conjured up where very much in the race, and while they fell a bit behind the teens, they were both able to lash out with ranged attacks. Flames from Incendiary struck Mizuki, but Lawrence barely had time to worry about that, as the loud sound of a shotgun rang out and Widowmaker fired his automatic shotgun at the teen. Just as the shotgun blast was about to strike Lawrence and his racer, there was a temporal distortion around them, and suddenly Lawrence was just slightly to one side of where he had been, causing the attack to miss him completely. Unfortunately, the defensive move threw off the teen's concentration slightly, as he released a wave of temporal energy aimed at stopping the two superpowered mercenaries (while avoiding his friends). Unfortunately the wave of energy washed harmlessly over everyone, and the five racers continued speeding along the course which had now brought them close to the Wading Way, the financial heart of Freedom City. Up ahead, were the three twisting towers of Pyramid Plaza, rising up to dominate the city skyline. The three teens could see that the course wrapped around the base of the Plaza, and then up into the air, weaving in and out of the three towers as it followed them all the way to their top, before ending in a ramp, with the course continuing after a large gap on a lower level, as it appear to slope back down in the direction of the North End and Liberty Park.

Velocity Megan watched as the Lighthouse’s doctor did his best to answer Artificers questions, thankful, as she often was, for the League's staff that were able to field the questions she could not and everything else they did. At Ghost's question, the speedster gave a small nod. "Oh yes, Daedalus has always been very meticulous about such things. There are hard copies in the vault down in Freedom Hall, and up here you would be able to access the full schematics for everything in the station at a terminal for League members. The staff have somewhat more limited access, primarily for the systems they work with, with a few that are authorized for wider access." When Artificer finished his questions, the speedster led the pair out of the infirmary and down the hallway to where another hall branched off to their right, leading towards the center of the floor. "Nothing but more living quarters around the other half of the station, so we can make our way up." She stated, leading the other two down the side hallway. Located at the center of the station was a bank of elevators, as well as a stairwell, the hall continuing towards the opposite end of the floor on the other side of the elevators. "The elevators and stairs both provide access to all fifteen floors of the station, though the stairs tend not to get much use, other than by me." Megan said with a small grin. "Though, when the station was under attack by the Communion, we were using them to quickly get to where the boarding parties where, particularly when main power was cut, which also shut of the artificial gravity." Turning towards the other two, particularly focusing on Artificer, she continued, "so, the next level up is more living areas and the cafeteria, so, unless you are particularly interested in some slightly more advanced kitchen appliances, we can probably skip it and just take an elevators up to the third level to continue."
