@Supercape @Dr Archeville The OOC for The Thread for rolls and such.
-
Quick Kart is not how I normally run threads (as I have said, it was a bit of an experiment on trying to do a fast paced "chase"). Typically I do things more like I did in Through the Paces, where stuff gets resolved in the OOC, then the player makes their IC post, then it is the next Player, or NPCs turn. Where there are lots of combatants, that can mean I might have a lot of NPCs interspersed among the PCs, but that is just the way it is. So I would say go ahead with your IC post for Rot and Ruin. I will work on getting the OOCs up for Multi-Girl and her duplicate (we have generally just had the duplicate act on the same initiative, let me know if you want me to roll separate).

GM "We certainly hope you are able to answer those questions." Came a voice from the far end of the platform, where a door which led to the interior of the floating city was located. Exiting the doorway where two figures, a Lor, and an insectoid, both dressed in coverall style jumpsuits. "And if we simply expected the Sarcota to be driven off with munitions, we likely would have just requested assistance from the Star Navy." The Lor added as they walked over toward towards the two Earth natives. "We *tik* are hopeful that *tik* you are able to find a solution *tik( which will not result in any *tik* harm to the Sarcota." The insectoid figure added. As they drew close to Starshot and Doktor Archeville, the Lor spoke up again. "I am Administrator R'arth, and this is one of our chief scientists, K'tr'kt," he indicated the insectoid who gave a nod in greeting. "Thus far, the disruption caused by the presence of the Sarcota has been limited to the upper tiers of one section of the collection array closest to the area they have been gathering in. However, that still is well over one hundred collection points that are offline. The uncollected power cells have been remotely disengaged from the solar panels, to avoid catastrophic overload. They have been offline for nearly ten rotations, and every rotation further impacts our productivity. So the sooner you can provide answers would be appreciated." Scientist K'tr'kt held out a data pad to Doktor Archeville. "This contains *tik* data recorded by our remote *tik* harvesters that have been near the Sacota. Their *tik* sensors are not designed with *tik* analyzing fauna in mind, but might have some *tik* general data that may prove useful. There are also *tik* the sensor logs from the orbital cities which *tik* recorded the arrival and some *tik* of the atmospheric movements of the Sarcota."

Ferrum II Outer length of the Perseus Arm, Lor Republic Space Lor time mark 2104.8 As a binary star system, the Ferrum was generally awash with solar energy. This was particularly true of one of the planetary bodies within the system, Ferrum II. Located in what was typically considered the prime habitable zone for most standard star systems, the intense solar radiation and winds made the planet a barren wasteland of wide-open spaces intermixed with large rocky mountain ranges and no apparent source of water. However, this hostile environment did not prevent the enterprising engineers of the Republic and Coalition worlds from finding a productive use for the world. Scattered across the vast open spaces between the baren mountain ranges, were extensive arrays of solar collectors held aloft by anti-gravity generators. During the intense days of a standard rotation, the arrays exposed to the binary stars would fully charge massive power cells stored within collectors. Meanwhile, on the far side of the planet, shielded from the intense solar radiation and heat in the planet’s night, several atmospheric orbiting cities would slowly circle over the fields of arrays, collecting the charged power cells and replacing them with new cells to be charged when the arrays greeted the next day. It was an extensive and precisely timed operation, with entire cargo vessels filled with freshly charged power cells for use throughout the Republic and Coalition worlds every cycle. Unless something were to disrupt those operations. Recently, a large number of Sarcota, massive space faring creatures that generally resemble Terran eels, some reaching the size of military frigates, had for some reason chosen to nest within the deep crevices of one of the rugged mountain ranges. The behavior was rather unusual, as the gigantic creatures tended to be solitary nature. While generally docile, if provoked, Sarcota could get quite agitated, and given their massive size, could easily cause significant damage to (if not outright destroy) some of the solar collection arrays and could even pose a significant risk to the orbital cities. Given this potential danger, the various corporations overseeing the operations on Ferrum II had enlisted the services of two rather unique individuals to attempt to determine what had attracted the Sarcota to the planet and to find a way to encourage them to move on from their current location and hopefully relocate to one of the more distant worlds in the system, or outside the system all together. Starshot was waiting on a landing platform of one of the orbital cities where his ship, the Xeno, was currently docked, waiting for the arrival of another individual from Earth, Doctor Viktor Archeville, so the pair could begin their investigation into the unusual behavior of the Sarcota….

Inward length of the Perseus Arm Lor time mark 2104.7 J'onn Shepard, also known as Space Ranger III, sat in the cockpit of the Star Lance as he guided the vessel towards the outer boundaries of the Korus system. Recently, some astronomers on Korus happened to spot a large asteroid approaching the system from deep space. After several days observation and various calculations had been made, it had been determined that the asteroid was on course to intersect with Korus' aphelion when the planet reached that part of its orbit, resulting in what was likely to be a very catastrophic impact on the still recovering world. While generally a technologically advanced world, capable of space flight and other technologies not common on Earth, Korus was still very much a world recovering from devastating internal wars, which had left large gaps in its technology. As such, unlike many worlds with similar space faring technology, Korus had a very poor deep space tracking system for identifying such hazards long before they would be realized, providing ample time to address them. Had it not been for the pure happenstance of this danger being spotted, it likely would have gone undetected. As it was, there was barely a standard month before the impact would occur. Recognizing the situation might be one he could not handle on his own, J'onn had reached out to Sri Kath'lana, a Star Knight he had worked with in the past for assistance. The felineoid Star Knight had responded back that she was being dispatched to provide assistance, only when she arrived it was not alone, she had with her a more senior Star Knight, Kyle Steward of Earth. The two Star Knights were with J'onn on the bridge of the Star Lance, as the vessel passed outside of the Korus system and into deep space, rapidly approaching the asteroid on its way toward the system…

Thuarus Spinward edge of the Orion-Cygnus Arm, former Khanate Space Lor time mark 2104.6 Thuarus had been one of the more remote worlds of the Stellar Khanate, among the last added to it by the expansionist policies of Star Khan, and far enough away from the center of the Khanate or the Lor Republic that it was bypassed by the Communion during the Incursion, and thus spared much of the upheaval and damage caused by the conflict. When the Incursion ended and the new status quo began to emerge, Thuarus had been among the Khanate worlds to break away from the weakened government of the Khanate. When Star Khan had begun his efforts to reform his broken empire, Thuarus' remoteness had meant it was low in priority, and the Khan's forces had exhausted themselves before they were able to turn their attention to the world. However, this did not mean that Thuarus lacked any turmoil in the post-Incursion era. Shortly after it had declared independence, Thuarus came to the attention of a would-be Khanate warlord trying to carve out his own small domain from the crumbling Khanate. Although not as talented or crafty as some of the other warlords that tried to arise in place of Star Khan, Justicar Gor'an had enough forces at his disposal to enter into a prolonged conflict with the native Thuaruians that the rest of the galaxy was either unaware of or chose to ignore. Recently, the Lor finally decided to take an interest in what was occurring on Thuarus, although its location made it impossible to send any navy vessels to the system, or other military assets. So, instead, the Lor sent a lone diplomate to attempt to negotiate a peace and bring an end to the conflict on the world. Not wanting the diplomate to enter into such a hostile system unattended, the Lor went with the more unconventional route of hiring freelancers to act as bodyguards. Thus, Eclipse and her crew found themselves accompanying Jor'ran Laar to Thuarus as the Lor set out to broker a deal between the two warring sides. It took several months of work (and more than a few firefights for Eclipse and her crew), but Laar appeared to finally have gotten each side to agree to terms which would end the hostilities. Currently, Eclipse and Rock were standing with Laar, as the Lor waited in a plaza in one of the older cities on Thuarus. Around them were several two or three story brick and stone buildings. While they were integrated with more modern technology, by the standards of most Lor or other Coalition worlds, they were at the very least ‘rustic’ if not bordering on primitive. Standing to one side of the plaza, were several of the leaders of the native Thuaruians, with about a dozen armed guards behind them. For the most part, the streets of the city were empty, with the occasional citizen walking along the streets and glancing at the gathering before continuing on their way. There was certainly a feeling of tension in the air as they waited for the arrival of Justicar Gor'an and his entourage to arrive.

Multi-Girl Summer smirked slightly at first Leon and then Luke's comments about them not being at Claremont any longer. "You would have to ask Bernadette how quiet Claremont has been since you two graduated. I would say it was a lot quieter before you two arrived, but that is not exactly true. I am not sure Claremont is every truly quiet for long." When Leon suggested they were stealing her to sell her to Disney for some new show, Bernadette gave him a slight scowl. "Ya had better at least hold out ta have tha live action o' Brave included in tha deal!" She said before finishing off the beer they had brought her. This time Summer chuckled. "Yeah, I expect even Disney would quickly realize they can’t really control her and likely ask for their money back." Bernadette glanced over to Summer. "Not shoor if I should take that as a compliment or an' insult, or both."

Multi-Girl When Neko indicated that talking to Mark might be helpful, Summer got out her phone to send of a text message, still listening as the teen began discussing some other ideas. "We have been workin' on some merchandise." Bernadette replied. "John, our bass player, got a couple o' T-shirt designs from an art student at FCU. We had been talkin' ta a local shop that could print 'em, but couldn' quite agree on a price, so we haven' moved forward with that." Finishing her text, Summer looked back up at Neko and Bernadette. "We have been meaning to try to find another place to print them, just has not been high on our priorities so far. But sounds like something we should maybe put more effort into?" She asked. "If ya have other thoughts on merchandise that would be great. We have thought about posters an' some other things, but not come up with any real ideas." As Neko brought up touring, both Summer and Bernadette nodded. "Yeah, we certainly want to go on tour." "Though ta make it work ya either need ta have a fan base around the places the tour will go in order ta fill the shows, be invited ta go on tour with another band that has a wider fan base, or get invited ta some music festival or the like where the audience is already guaranteed." Bernadette added. "Which sorta brings us back ta the whole desire ta wantin'ta boost our social media presence, ta make any o' these more possible by gettin' us out there." "When you said using the superhuman community to tour places beyond the reach of normal bands….did you have something in mind beyond just getting out of the country?" Summer then asked.
-
Multi-Girl Summer gave Neko a slightly confused look at the Japanese girl's comment about Mark. "Yeah, he’s the drummer in our band." She replied. "Just sorta fell on him as he is better with computers than the rest o' us. He has been handlin' editin' an’ mixin' for our recordings as well." Bernadette added. "Be nice ta eventually hire someone fer that, but right now somethin' we do on our own." "We can give him a call and see if he is free to drop by if it would help." Summer stated with a shrug. "So, as I was sayin', right now we are bringin' in some money with shows, an' bringin' in a bit from social media an' people downloadin' the recordings we have gotten up on Spotify. But the social media part is probably the best way to drive everythin' else an' we are not there like we should be."

Timeout As the trio had begun their observations of the biodiversity of the estuary, Lawrence had realized that in many ways, he and Baz were holding Mizuki back from being able to truly experience the biosphere, given she could easily be down in the water for as long as she wanted exploring the area. But, they had an assignment, so they were out on the motorboat exploring the coastline of the southern section of the Century Narrows. When the drew near the unusually active Ocean Heights Amusement Park and saw a figure fall into the water, it was little surprise that Baz did what he typically did, jump into things without fully thinking them through. "On it." Lawrence responded to Mizuki as she got ready to jump in and rescue the man, and possibly Baz as well. The blond teen took the wheel of the motorboat, reducing the power to the engine so that it was just overcoming the currents as he steered it to follow parallel to Mizuki and Baz, staying close.

Timeout Lawrence relaxed some as he managed to freeze Thesaurus Rex in time. With no other immediate threads, he walked over to where the twelve-year-old girl was struggling to get away from Paker. "Easy, we are here to help. Not planning to send or take you anywhere." He stated as he picked up the device that she dropped. "I take it this is what Thesaurus Rex was after?" The blond teen asked as he began to study the device.

GM "Thank you Praetor Shashikala." The Justicar replied as he stepped back when Traveller took the offered power staff, giving Galvanic a small nod in response to her added comments. As the universal translator provided translation of Moon-Moth's Lanternian greeting, Ambassador Malor smiled and gave a small bow. "Very well said Praetor Myothizar. It is very much our hope that what is to be discussed this day will lead to both a fruitful and peaceful future for all involved." The Zultasian noble then gave a small smile. "But, first steps, there is the matter of the requested inspection. We are fully prepared to cooperate however is necessary to provide any assurances that may be required. Timeout "No problem Consuelo. Something that has been rattling around in my mind for the past few months. Glad to see it worked." Lawrence replied with a small smile at the green-haired girl's comments. The blond teen gave a nod to Crimson Tiger as well. He had long had fairly good control over his powers, so it was not particularly a reason he was at Claremont. Lawrence then chuckled slightly at Michael's comment about his being able to do just about everything. "Not everything. There are quite a few things I cannot do. I just happen to be pretty good at the things I can do."

Multi-Girl With Neko's illusions overwhelming the majority of the soldiers gathered in the main courtyard, the catgirl was easily able to slip away and get over the inner wall to the next section of the fortress. On the other side of the wall, Neko found a worn road that went through what appeared to be a forested area and further into the fortress. Over to one side of the courtyard, the soldier that was near Jotunn and Bernadette had drawn his sword, but could not see through the icy mist that surrounded him, and simply backed up and held his sword out in front of him to try to keep any enemies at bay. Standing between Neko’s illusions and Jotunn's mist, Bernadette and her duplicate also turned and ran towards the inner wall, leaping up and easily vaulting up onto the inner wall, turning back around to watch for Jotunn to follow. Elsewhere at the opposite end of the courtyard, Starshine and Gawain were still invisible, as Neko's illusion engulfed the nearest soldiers to them. The pair were clear to make their way towards the next section of the fortress….

@Tiffany Korta @TheAbsurdist So, with all the soldiers tied up in obscures, we will skip over them as they are just floundering around inside the obscures, unsure what is going on. So, everyone can post moving on into the next stage of the "game."

Well, figure it was combat time, though not sure why we shouldn't roll Initiative. Also, not sure how Bernadette's attack roll is the necessary element for a KO? (she is a damage shifted PL 9, so her punches are DC 27 toughness saves, so what Ruin rolls on toughness matters). Was going to have the duplicate run and pull the lab worker back into the hallway and out of sight.

Multi-Girl "Well…our drummer was tha main one behind tha website." Bernadette replied as she glanced between Neko and Summer as the other girl paced around the room before moving over to climb onto the back of one of the chairs. "It is pretty basic, so certainly could use updating." Summer chimed. "As for managing….well, us for the moment, but mostly Mark…the drummer." At Neko's questions about social media, Bernadette and Summer both listed the accounts they had. Both had a couple personnel accounts, as did the other two band members, but they did not come close to covering all the major ones, and none of the minor. They had also set up some for the band, which did cover most of the major platforms. "We are certainly lookin' fer a larger audience than tha metahuman community." Bernadette replied to Neko's question about what sort of market they were aiming for. "Yeah, we are generally 'rock' band, but we have experimented with several different songs from different genre of music, giving them a bit of a rock edge, which has helped draw some attention from some people that might not normally like a pure rock band." Summer added.

Timeout Lawrence had been focused on what he was doing, but turned to regard what was going on over with Consuelo and Parker when the green-haired girl disintegrated the bag they had been using. The blond teen stopped and stepped away from the bag he had been using as Parker called over to Crimson Tiger. "I think I can help Parker." Lawrence state as he focused on the space where the bag had been a moment, holding up one hand. A temporal distortion formed around his hand and the empty space where the bag had been as Lawrence began turning his hand, as if turning back a dial. The tendrils of shadow that had been the mater of the bag being torn apart before vanishing all started moving back inward until the bag fully reformed. As the blond teen closed his hand, the temporal distortion vanished and the bag was back just as it had been.

Timeout Lawrence watched as Baz leapt into action, trying to attack the Thesaurus Rex, but missing with his punch. While the direct attack missed, there was still the glowing aura that surrounded Baz, which caused the strange T-Rex to back away from him. As planned, Parker was over by the kid, offering to get him clear. And then Thesaurus Rex charge Lawrence, opening his massive mouth and trying to bite him. For a moment it looked as if the blond teen would be bitten, but at the last moment, there was a blur of temporal displacement as Lawrence was suddenly just off to the side and out of the way as the T-Rex's jaws clamped shut. Moving a bit further away in another blur of temporal displacement, Lawrence stopped and looked over at the massive creature, a small smile on his face. "Well, if you don’t want to talk, maybe you should at least relax." Raising up his left hand, the blond teen caused a burst of temporal energy to emanate out from him, spreading in all directions until it washed over Thesaurus Rex, but bypassed his friends and the kid.

Well, he does have a 50% miss chance, but will go with the sure thing of spending a HP. He will move a short distance away, and use Temporal Sedation (Stun attack), only targeting the Rex. He gets a natural 20 for 26 on the attack roll! So with the +5 for the critical, that is a DC 25 Will save vs the Stun.
