The blond teen could not help but think of the T-Rex with cybernetic collars that roamed the Null Time, but this unusual creature seemed nothing like them. He was then gone in the blur of temporal distortion as he shifted his movements with in time and made his way down from the roof access and onto the street, where he moved over to "reappear" between the youth and Thesaurus Rex. "You seem like someone who likes to talk, how about we talk about this? What is it that this boy has?" The teen said, even as he prepared to dodge aside if attacked.

Timeout Lawrence had sat quietly during the assembly, not showing any real surprise or reaction to the Headmistress announcing Veuriz was from another galaxy (which has created some murmurs thought the gathered students. Unlike most the blond teen had been in space before and met aliens from a number of different worlds. That experience has been part of the reason he had been paired to room with Baz. But to be fair, to hear the new student was from a completely different galaxy did a lot to push her up on the "out of the ordinary" scale for him. After the brief assembly, Lawrence gathered with the other students asked by the Headmistress to help welcome Veuriz. The sixteen year old was dresses in jeans and a brown sweater over which he had a jacket. "Cheers. I'm Lawrence, very nice to meet you Veuriz." He said with a charming smile.

Claremont Academy Bayview, Freedom City, New Jersey Wednesday January 3, 2024, 8:10 AM With the start of the second half of the school year, Headmistress Summers had called an assembly for the student body to start the first day back in classes. Once all the students had gathered in the auditorium, the headmistress made her way out onto the stage. She was accompanied by a most unusual individual, a short figure, under four feet tall, with aquamarine blue skin and a long prehensile tail. The figure appeared to be female, and was wearing some sort of breathing mask and dressed in punk style clothing and combat boots. Directing the figure to a spot close to the podium, the Headmistress stepped up behind the podium and began to speak. "Good morning everyone, welcome back. I trust everyone had an enjoyable and safe holidays and New Year's. Before we start classes this morning, I wanted to make a short announcement to introduce everyone to a recent addition to our student body." The Headmistress indicated the small figure that was standing nearby. "Vueriz is a recent arrival, not only to our city, but our planet and galaxy. Many of you likely heard on the news about a recent crash landing near Freedom City, that was Vueriz's arrival. After some debriefing by the Freedom League and AEGIS, she has been remitted to the school's custody. I trust each and every one of you will do all you can to make her feel welcome and help her adjust to her new surroundings and learn about not only our city, but our world." "Now, classes begin in half an hour, so you have some free time until the, but I expect everyone to be on time. Will the members of the sophomore class I spoke with early this morning please gather in the antechamber to meet with Vueriz and help ensure she makes it to her first class. Multi-Girl "Poor dear." Bernadette replied somewhat teasingly as Charlie again commented about how terrible the "Vest" had been. The redhead allowed him to pull her in up against him as they continued to slow dance. Bernadette was normally just slightly shorter than Charlie, her heels more than made up for that, so her bright green eyes looked into his blue ones for a few moments. Then she leaned in so her mouth was by his right ear and she whispers. "Don' worry, I promise I won' make ya wear anything…..that ya don' wanna."

Multi-Girl "No problem, no need ta have ta repeat things twice." Bernadette said when Neko mentioned saving her ideas until they were at their destination. The redhead was still dressed as she had been for classes during the day, a pair of jeans, a sweater, with the addition of a heavy jacket. The Irish teen was very appreciative of Neko’s willingness to help, even if the other teen might expect something in return, it was far more than fair for the help she could provide Berandette and her bandmates. The Irish teen was regularly amazed at just how well Neko seemed to navigate the social media sphere, monetizing her various projects and generating income for herself. Although the two had grown closer since becoming roommates at the beginning of the year, there was still much about the Japanese girl that was a mystery. But Bernadette had quickly learned when she had come to Claremont, that there were people within the superhero community that had secrets that they did not want to share, and Claremont was no different. So, the redhead had quickly learned to just accept things without judgment or questions. On those times Neko would wake up screaming from some nightmare, Bernadette would be up as well, ready to just talk or give her friend a reassuring hug. Soon the two arrived at their destination, a section of Riverside that long ago had been warehouses or light manufacturing business and had been converted into condos or apartments with mixed in retail business and restaurants on the ground floors. The red brick building the pair were dropped off in front of in fact had a florist on the ground floor, along with a small stationery/card shop. Above were a couple of floors that appeared to be converted into apartments. Bernadette led the way over to a door that was to the side of the two business, unlocking it with a key and leading Neko into a somewhat narrow hallway that led back to stairs and an elevator. The redhead opted for the stairs, leading them up to the top floor and down a small hallway. Soon she was opening a door to one of the apartments, which opened into a large open studio, the soft sound on an acoustic guitar greeting them. The door entered along one end of the studio, leading right into a kitchen area. The counters were a bit cluttered with dirty dishes, pans and empty drink and food containers. Off to the right was a door that appeared to lead into a bathroom. To the left the studio continued to an area that was set up as a living room, with a large futon sofa (which likely could covert to a bed) on the outer wall by some windows, a couple of lounge chairs and a coffee table. The later was covered with papers and some composition books. Opposite this area on the inner wall were a couple of dressers and a small desk with a laptop (which was also a bit cluttered with papers). One of the lounge chairs was currently occupied by the individual playing the acoustic guitar, Summer Sands. Summer was a couple of years older than Neko and Bernadette, and had been a Senior when the two had started at Claremont. Neko could not quite recall what powers she had, but believed they were not ones that would particularly allow her to engage in superheroics. The older gril she was dressed in baggy pants, with a black T-shirt and had olive skin, brown eyes and long black hair without any particular style. She was about as tall as Bernadette, but was much more lanky. She had a long face that was a bit too odd to be beautiful, but not so weird to be ugly. She also had long, somewhat uncanny fingers, which she was currently using to strum away on the acoustic guitar as she sat by one of the windows. Neko had heard the story of how Bernadette and Summer had entered a singing competition in Boston during the summer and ended up whisked off to a strange dimension filled with music. In fact, that was where Bernadette inadvertently ended up with the singing fish (Treble) that occupied a tank in the girl's dorm room. It was after this that Summer and Bernadette had set to work starting their band. The far end of the studio was an open area with the floor covered with thick rubber pads (like those used under exercise equipment in a gym) as where the walls. Gathered there were amps, speakers, a drum set and several guitars, bass and some microphones and stands. Summer stopped strumming on her guitar to look over at the pair as they entered. "Oh, hey Bernadette, Neko." She said with a small smile as she sat up and put the guitar aside. "Hey Summer." Bernadette said as she walked over towards where the other girl was seated. As she went, one of her duplicates popped into existence, and went over into the kitchen to begin cleaning it up.

Riverside, Freedom City, New Jersey Thursday January 4, 2024, 4:36 PM Neko Musume and Bernadette O'Connell were riding in the back of an UBER on their way to Riverside in downtown Freedom City, the typical afternoon traffic making the trip a bit slower that it might otherwise take. Off the in the distance, the back of Sentry Statue was visible, looking out toward the Century Narrows. Not long after the start of the school year and the pair being assigned as roommates, Neko had learned that Bernadette was the lead singer in a band and would regularly go out during the week or on weekends to play at various local bars and clubs. From what the Japanese teen understood, they were doing fairly well and had started a web presence to sell recordings of songs. Just before the holiday break, the Irish teen had asked Neko if she would be willing to help them out with their marketing and social media presence, there had just not really been a chance to really talk about it between finals and Bernadette going home to Boston during the break. Bernadette was somewhat fidgety in her seat with excitement. In fact, the redhead had generally been like that since the Freedom League's holiday party. That night when the two had finally both made it back to the dorm room, Bernadette had told Neko about making out with Charlie in a secluded part of the Hall during the party. Neko had long known the Irish teen had something of a crush on Charlie, which had been put in limbo when the other teen had disappeared from the school well over a year ago. Needless to say, despite the late hour when the two had gotten back from the party, the redhead had still been rather over excited, describing herself as 'Wired to the Moon,' one of the many Irish slang Bernadette used from time to time. All-in-all, since the League party, Bernadette had been about as happy as Neko had seen her, not that the Irish teen wasn't generally cheerful. "Thanks again for agreein' ta try ta help us out Neko." Bernadette said, giving her roommate a wide smile.

Timeout As Lawrence had indicated, he was good enough to avoid stepping on Mizuki’s feet as the pair danced to the slower music. While he was not going to win any dance competitions, he was able to blend into the crowd on the dance floor. The blond teen smiled at Mizuki’s story. "I am afraid I have not had the privilege of attending any armed services events, here or back in England, but I have been to my fair share of formal events on both sides of the pond. So, I have learned enough to get by." "As part of the League, my mom has been to several military events, including a time she spent over twenty-six hours running around the world to see the New Year arrive in each time zone. She included a couple of armed forces celebrations for some of her stops, including an air base on Guam, Diego Gracia and the USS Carl Vinson in the Gulf of Aden."

Okay, suspect RL has gotten BitCook for the moment, but don’t want to hold this up much longer, so will say that for this round, Vicki and one of the Koopas get tangled up and both fall back a bit. Reminder of current HPs: Timeout 4 HP Magic 8 Ball 3 HP Rot 1 HP Torpedo Lass 2 3 HP @Huckleberry Huck, trying to ram a Koopa would be an action (so Rot could not then also make a disintegrate attack), but I will just take that as a drive roll and go with the attack, which will be a hit. The Koopa gets a Reflex check against the Drain, making its save with a 20, but still has the DC 22 toughness save: only getting a 17 which is bruised and dazed! So it will fall behind this round and not be able to attack anyone or take other actions. @The Sailor Sailor, as I mentioned in discord, Mizuki gets a combination of swimming (going into the bay/through the yacht club) and then leaping to jump out of the water and back up onto the track as it goes up the hill and in among the fancy houses of North Bay. She is able to get back up to where Consuelo is (and slightly ahead of Vicki and two of the Koopas). The last Koopa will try to ram Lawrence, getting a 21 Lawrence was again going to just try to go fast, failing spectacularly with a 17 on a natural one, will use a HP to reroll: much better with a 30, so he is able to pull ahead of RK1 before getting rammed. Tentacle attacks: Lawrence: 7 misses RK 2 (one Rot just hit): 12 misses Consuelo: another 7 misses So, Summary: Rot blasts one of the Koopas, damaging its racer some and making it fall behind. She falls a bit behind, but not as far as Vicki (and the Koopa that got tangled up with her) Mizuki speeds along under water, before jumping back up onto the track and getting back up to where Consuelo is. Lawrence speeds ahead and several tentacles make last attempts to hit Consuelo, Lawrence and one of the Koopas, but all miss. Lets get some IC posts, then I will post and set up the next stage of the race

Velocity "Yeah, still with the League." Megan had responded to Archeville's question to her when he seemed somewhat relieved by her arrival. It had been right around the time she had first joined the League, just as she was finishing high school, that the speedster had first met Archeville. That seemed so long ago now. Making her way into the conference room with the group, she was not particularly surprised to see VINCE already there waiting for them, with his typical theatrics. "Hey VINCE, been awhile." She said with a smile to the AI. With Stesha continuing in attempting to get the temperature down some, Megan calmly went over and took a seat, to allow those who were most affected by Archeville’s actions to speak up. She had left the Interceptors long before Archeville's betrayal, and she had not even been in the States when it happened, having moved to England to start her year studying at Cambridge. So, she had missed most of what occurred and had only minimal involvement in any of the aftermath. But she still had feelings about what had happened, he had hurt people she cared about. As Ghost and Grimalkin arrived, the blonde gave a nod to Lynn before moving over to take one of the seats at the table next to Stesha, but stayed quite for the moment as Geckoman and his wife took seats and started things off.

Veronica Danger Veronica smiled slightly as Lulu broke off the inhibitor the redhead had been required to wear to operate within Chinese boarders. It could be a bit of a problem when they left this dimension and returned to the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon, but then the young Danger could easily teleport them away once they were all back in their native dimension, without the need to trek back down the river banks. The three young adults made their way through the lush countryside of the bright river valley, a few people working in the fields stopping what they were doing to regard them with curiosity as they went (particularly as Davyd shifted back to his normal human form as they drew closer). Soon, the three drew near the base of the rocky hill and the monastery which sat on top of it. Up head, they could see the group of what appeared to be monks, one of who was clearly sparring with a fourteen year old with brown hair dressed in oliver cargo pants and a tan T-shirt. Seeing the trio approach, the monk sparring with Rex stepped out of his fighting stance to regard the group as they approach. Seeing his opponent stop, Rex shifted out of a fighting stance as well and turned around, a wide smile coming to his face. Although only fourteen, Rex Danger was already taller than his sister. There was a strong resemblance with Veronica, although his features were much more masculine. It likely was little surprise that he had a lean, athletic build, which likely would continue to gain muscle as he matured. "Ronnie. Should have known they would ask you to come look for me." Rex called out as he moved forward away from the group of monks who stood silently by observing. "Isn't this place amazing?" He stated as he gave Vernoica a hug. Like his sister, the younger Danger had a slight trace of a French accent. Glancing at Davyd and Lulu, he gave them a smile as well. "And this must be Davyd and Lulu." Veronica stepped back from her brother, letting her smile fade as she gave him a slightly stern look. "Rex, what were you thinking? You realize you just disappeared two days ago right? You didn't think anyone would get worried?"

Multi-Girl Bernadette gave Ruin an unimpressed look as the purple haired girl again dismissed her and acted as if she was Consuelo's "minion." The red head simply shrugged and replied. "I believe I was already clear that I wasn' her 'minion,' but her friend. Guess ye were too busy actin' the maggot ta pay attention ta that." "But more ta the point, I'm tha senior student present, so she is sorta me responsibility. So the last thing we are goin' ta be doin' is continuin' ta help you." The Irish teen said as she moved over to get between Ruin and the cylinder, ready to try to forcefully stop the pruple haired girl from entering. Meanwhile, her duplicate pulls the fire alarm.

Timeout Lawrence Harrow made his way to the gym after dropping his things off in his and Baz’s dorm room. The blond teen was dressed in warm up pants and a red Addias Arsenal zip-up hoodie under which he was wearing a black T-shirt. The conversations he had had with Michael about this idea for a study group had been….interesting. Like several of the students, Michael seemed to have taken the encounter with Quirk somewhat hard. Lawrence certainly found Quirk annoying, but the blond teen was far more concerned about the warning Quirk had given him after the finish of the Mario Kart inspired race. That was occupying a far larger part of the teen's mind than Quirk ever could. And given his mother's reaction when he had told her about it, he suspected it was keeping her up at night as well. Lawrence was a bit surprised she had not considered having him go back to the Null Time for a little while. Of course, even with the holiday, it had not been long after his mother’s announcement during the League's holiday party for the entire school to know that he was Velocity's son. Lawrence just did his best to press on as if nothing were any different as he waited for the initial buzz to die down and things get back to pretty much normal. In many ways, it was a relief that that was not something he had to be careful about inadvertently revealing any longer. Making his way inside, Lawrence glanced around a moment at those who had arrived already, Michael, Baz and Consuelo. He also spotted Crimson Tiger as Michael introduced her. He recalled seeing at the League holiday party but had never had a chance to go meet. "Nice to meet you Crimson Tiger." He said in greeting as he walked over towards the group in his British accent. "Lawrence Harrow, though I also go by Timeout."

Timeout Lawrence looked back too Mizuki when she realized he was a bit distracted. Giving her a smile, he shook his head. "Not anything I think we need to be concerned about right now. Just saw someone that my mom used consider a friend. It’s a long story, and there are far better things to be focused on tonight." No sooner than the blond teen say that than the current song ended and the previously faster paced dance music gave way to a much slower tempo song. "Well, that seems appropriately timed." He commented as his smile widened and he offered Mizuki his left hand.

If we need initiative, Timeout gets a 24

Timeout Lawrence's eyes narrowed slightly at Baz's comments about the blond teen's mother. However, that faded quickly as he gave his friend a small smile and Parker spoke up about the comments. If it had been anyone other than these two, the teen might have more an issue, but he understood a lot of what Baz tried to hide from everyone else. "You don't think I realize my mom is attractive Baz? Why do you think my dad bought a private island with her in Fiji before they got married?" He then then chuckled at Parker's comment about having Velocity as a mom being awesome. "Yeah, it can be. I have been able to practice in the League's Wreck Room since I was ten, among other things." Lawrence then chuckled slightly at Baz's question about what advice his mom would have for patrolling. "I am afraid her advice would probably not be super helpful for us, as it would mainly be 'run around the city a couple times until you come across trouble,' although, at our age she probably would have added 'or some cute guys to talk to for a bit." But it was not long after that the wait came to an end, as a very strange scene played out before the three teens. "I think you have already given that away Baz." Lawrence replied in response to his question about using the element of surprise and prepared to get back down to street level to get in the middle of whatever was going on.

Multi-Girl Bernadette was enjoying herself as she and Charlie danced, he had certainly learned well. But as he decided to further explain what he had meant about how he learned to dance, the redhead slowed her dancing slightly as she initially had a slightly shocked look. As the last song ended, rather than another more energetic dance song, Berlin's Take My Breath Away began to play (it would be followed by Pink's Try) to given those on the dance floor a bit of slow dancing, before things would return to the faster tempo dance songs. And then Megan was gone from the dance floor in a yellow blur. Moments latter, she was out in the lobby and had found the group gathered around Archeville. Although she did not immediately spot Viktor, her ability to process information far, far faster than normal meant that by the time she came up to the group, she was not showing any signs of surprise. *WOOSH* The sound of rapidly displaced air accompanied her arrival as the yellow clad speedster came up and slowed down to a more normal pace as she joined the group. As the two bickered about their code names, the redhead spent a bit of time looking around the room, but did not really see anything that immediately leapt out at her as possibly helping with the current situation. She did have her duplicate slowly start walking around, and eventually come to a halt near the fire alarm on the wall. "Do ya even know what this thing does?" They are close enough that they could move up and still be able to make a melee attack without any super movement power (assuming they could see where anyone is)
